00:00The Philippines has now returned to the 47 Filipinos who have availed of the voluntary repatriation because of the chaos in Lebanon.
00:07BN Manalo is at the center of the news.
00:11The 47 Filipinos who arrived at the IA Terminal 1 last night were welcomed warmly.
00:18They are the people who have availed of the voluntary repatriation program of the government after being trapped in the chaos in Lebanon.
00:28They were welcomed by the Department of Migrant Workers, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and other government agencies.
00:3745 of them are overseas Filipino workers and 2 of them are dependents.
00:43This is the largest batch of OFWs who were allowed to return from Lebanon
00:49President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ordered the repatriation program to start in October 2023.
00:57We will not stop offering free repatriation services and post-arrival assistance
01:05as ordered by our beloved President through a whole-of-government approach.
01:10In total, 525 OFWs and 30 dependents have returned to the Philippines from Lebanon.
01:18The OFWs will receive P170,000 in financial assistance.
01:23They will also be given various skills such as entrepreneurship, employment enhancement, and skills enhancement training.
01:32We're making our services more available.
01:35We have hotlines.
01:36We have transport even for those who need to be brought to shelters from their homes, from anywhere within Beirut.
01:46The Department of Health is also involved in physical examination and psychological first aid.
01:51And we will provide them more hospitalization services even after they've gone home to their specific provinces.
02:00According to the DMW, 364 OFWs from Lebanon will be able to return to the Philippines this month.
02:08More than 200 of these will be arranged by the Lebanese Immigration Authorities.
02:14As of now, Lebanon is under Alert Level 3.
02:17This means mandatory repatriation.
