00:00There's two phones that I carry around with me, and I think you're the same.
00:14iPhone 13 Pro Max and the Google Pixel 6 Pro.
00:17That is correct.
00:18I should explain.
00:19Saf, SuperSaf, from SuperSaf TV, my good friend, and I think you have a YouTube channel as
00:25well?
00:26Are we there yet?
00:28Call it Proximity Coworker.
00:30He's got a fantastic channel, and if you haven't already subscribed, then don't bother.
00:34You're not actually missing much.
00:36Ouch.
00:37I'm Tomatek Ciap, and we're talking about these two phones.
00:41What do you think?
00:42Which one is your main SIM card in?
00:43I have two main SIM cards, and I have for the past seven years, right?
00:47Because you've got to burn a phone for your missus and for your...
00:50You're not supposed to expose me like this, dude.
00:54Come on.
00:55For me, I always have had one Android phone and one iPhone.
00:59So we have review samples of these phones, and my wife, Sarah, she was on a Pixel 4 XL
01:04for the longest time.
01:05She was so excited about this that she's actually taken my review sample temporarily and is
01:09using it as hers.
01:10What happens when you're married?
01:11What's yours is hers.
01:12Yeah.
01:13I'm like, I need this for work.
01:14She's like, I don't care.
01:15No.
01:16Doesn't matter.
01:17Well, we've got my Pixel here.
01:18So yeah, I've been using both of these, and there's certain things that I like about both.
01:21Yeah.
01:22Let's talk about design.
01:23It looks better and feels better to use.
01:25Okay.
01:26So I would say that the Pixel is the overall more comfortable device to use, and that's
01:30because of the curved edges.
01:31I like the look of the flat edges of the iPhone, and don't get me wrong, it looks great, but
01:38it's heavier.
01:39Yeah.
01:40And because it's boxier, you're kind of like when you're holding it for long periods of
01:43time.
01:44I mean, it's not a big deal, but it's not as comfortable as the Pixel.
01:48I also like that the Pixel has a fresh design.
01:50The iPhone, I like the design, but it's very much the same as the iPhone 12.
01:56It'd be difficult for the average person to see the difference if you've got an 11, a
02:0112, or a 13.
02:02Yeah, exactly.
02:03But this is like-
02:04This looks very distinctive, and I like that.
02:05What I don't like about it is that it's got the glossy finish, right?
02:08Yes.
02:09Whereas with this, you've got the matte finish, which I much, much prefer.
02:13If I'm giving points for overall comfortability and design, then I would lean towards the
02:19Pixel.
02:20Comfortability?
02:21Comfortability.
02:22Is that a word?
02:23I don't know.
02:24Well, it should be a word.
02:25I love it.
02:26It's the comfortability factor.
02:27I agree.
02:28It's a little bit taller, a little bit narrower, and a lot lighter.
02:29And as you say, the curved edges make it nice.
02:31Not a lot of people, not everyone loves a curved screen.
02:33I don't mind it.
02:34I'm kind of over it.
02:35I don't mind the curved screen, but I think more so the curve at the back, and it just
02:39makes it a little bit more comfortable.
02:42The thing is, these are two of the best phones you can buy.
02:45But what's really interesting, and it kind of skips ahead a little bit, is that these
02:47are not the same price.
02:50And actually, the Pixel is, what, $850?
02:52So it really goes up against the 13 Pro-ish, and maybe even the 13, it's halfway between.
02:58The Pro Max being, what, $1050?
03:00Significantly more expensive.
03:02But these are kind of the phones at the top of their game.
03:05Yeah, and that's something that I have to keep reminding myself, because the Pixel does
03:09for sure in a lot of areas, compared to the iPhone, that actually it's because it is cheaper.
03:15So let's talk about some areas that we don't like about the Pixel, because everyone is
03:18saying lots of great things, and it's fantastic, and it's a little bit more affordable.
03:20But there are some downsides.
03:23I think my biggest one is the camera's a little inconsistent.
03:26I wish they had face unlocking.
03:29It's bizarre that it doesn't.
03:31And that's probably it.
03:34So the face unlocking is not something that I'm really, you know, like, I don't really
03:38use face unlock, because it wouldn't be as secure anyway.
03:41The fingerprint scanner, initially, in my experience, it wasn't so bad.
03:44It's not as fast as some of the others.
03:45I like Face ID, but then the Face ID thing is that right now we're having to wear a mask.
03:51Now I've got an Apple Watch, so it's okay for me, because I can just unlock the phone
03:54with my Apple Watch, but you do have to consider that.
03:57If you're going to be wearing a mask a lot, then it can be a little bit annoying.
04:01The one thing that I always say is that I would have loved if Apple put a touch ID scanner
04:05here at the back.
04:06Oh, I know, I know.
04:07I mean, it's on the iPad Air, and they double it into the power button, so if they could
04:10do that on here, it would be fantastic.
04:11I think, you know, considering how things are, it's just nice to have that option.
04:16Thing that I absolutely love about the iPhone is that it is, I would say, the most consistent
04:21set of cameras on any smartphone right now, and it ticks all the boxes.
04:25Yes, it might not be the best in certain areas, such as, obviously, zoom and things like that.
04:32The ultra-wide, I do prefer the S21 Ultra, for example.
04:36You've done some camera comparisons.
04:37I have, I have.
04:38Between these two, so give me, like, what are your thoughts on this?
04:41In a nutshell, I think it's easy to say that video, the iPhone is just significantly better
04:45than, you know, the Pixel, not to say that the Pixel's bad, but the iPhone's just very
04:50consistent.
04:51You've got 4K 60 across all of the cameras, HDR video as well.
04:55Looks really, really good, and that's something that you really can't go wrong with.
04:59This isn't going in the video.
05:00This is a family-friendly.
05:01You better get in the video.
05:02It's a family-friendly channel.
05:03Oh, no.
05:04Launch a new channel.
05:05Put this boy.
05:06I'm so sorry, everyone.
05:07I'm so sorry.
05:08How's it going, Saf?
05:09It's been good.
05:10We did a 12-mile hike.
05:11Yeah.
05:12Just about survived.
05:13And now we're about halfway.
05:14Yeah.
05:15It's been tough, but we can do this.
05:16We can do this.
05:17Obviously in-field testing of the phones, this is the Pixel 6 Pro.
05:18Selfie video, it's been crazy.
05:19We've got a lot of people.
05:20We've got some members of the group.
05:21We've got a bunch of companies, we've got a bunch of people.
05:22We've got a bunch of people.
05:23We've got a bunch of people.
05:24We've got a bunch of companies.
05:25We've got a bunch of companies.
05:26We've got a bunch of people.
05:27But we've got a bunch of people.
05:28It's been tough, but we can do this.
05:30We can do this.
05:31Obviously, in-field testing of the phones,
05:34this is the Pixel 6 Pro, selfie video, 4K.
05:37Yeah, only at 30 FPS.
05:39That's true.
05:40Let's see how the stabilization looks,
05:42but then let's now switch to the iPhone.
05:45And we're back.
05:47Here we are.
05:47iPhone, still 4K 30, but as you say, we can do 4K 60.
05:50The option is there.
05:51I'd be curious to see as we're walking up this bit
05:53of a hike, how it handles the stabilization,
05:56how the mic picks up our out-of-breath panting.
06:02It's been 12 miles so far.
06:04So far, we're incredibly athletic.
06:05Don't laugh, Sarah.
06:08Let's get back to the hotel, shall we?
06:10Yes, that sounds good.
06:11Let's do it.
06:12Let's do it.
06:13Let's do it.
06:14Let's do it.
06:40With the Pixel, I think it takes really good pictures.
06:43It's got that Pixel look.
06:44A lot of people like that, and I think it looks really good,
06:46and I do like it for a lot of photos,
06:50but one of the things that you don't get
06:52is that same consistency that you get with the iPhone.
06:56The one thing with Pixel phones
06:57is they always do improve its software
06:59because Google is a software company.
07:01Sometimes when it hits, it's good,
07:03but a lot of times, it's almost like it's like $150.
07:07Something's going wrong.
07:08Yeah, it's like that cannot come out from this.
07:11The iPhone, on the other hand,
07:12because of the LiDAR scanner,
07:13some of the portraits that I've shared,
07:16people are like, no way that's taken on a smartphone.
07:18It is just spot on.
07:20But I also like the focal length
07:21because you've got the 3X,
07:24which is the equivalent of around 70 to 75 millimeters
07:27when you're taking a portrait on a professional camera,
07:29and I think that's a really, really good angle for portraits,
07:32the way the compression and everything works.
07:34So this is something that you've got on the iPhone.
07:36On the Pixel, you've got a 4X camera,
07:38but that 4X camera cannot be used with portrait mode.
07:42You can take normal pictures with it,
07:43and they'll have some form of bokeh
07:45because of that focal length,
07:47but it's not got the portrait mode.
07:49You've just got one and two.
07:512X on the Pixel is actually digital.
07:54So what it does is it cranks up the sharpness
07:57to make up for it,
07:57and it just ends up looking really, really bad.
08:00So the Pixel camera is really good,
08:02and a lot of people will like that,
08:03but if I'm picking a camera between these two
08:06and looking at the overall experience,
08:08it's gotta be the iPhone for me.
08:09I wish they had improved the selfie camera
08:11a little bit more on the iPhone.
08:13I think that's the only thing, not bad,
08:15but it sort of feels like it's held back a little bit,
08:17and some of the selfies I take are a bit soft,
08:20and sometimes the white balance on faces can be a bit off.
08:24What is this video sponsored by, by the way?
08:25Oh, actually, that's a great point.
08:27The lovely people over at Surfshark
08:28are sponsoring this video,
08:29which makes sense because we are
08:31in the middle of California traveling,
08:33and the one thing that is important when you're away
08:36and actually on public Wi-Fi around about
08:38is having to be able to browse the web safely.
08:40So I use Surfshark VPN both at home and when I'm traveling,
08:44and make sure to turn on their clean web tool
08:46as this helps prevent tracking, malware,
08:48ads, and other dodgy stuff.
08:50There's an app for pretty much every device,
08:52and you can use an unlimited number of devices
08:54with just one subscription.
08:55There's also thousands of servers to choose from,
08:58which makes it easy to access different content
09:00from around the world,
09:00and if you do fancy giving Surfshark VPN a try,
09:03then click the link in the description below
09:05or use the code techchap at the checkout
09:07to get a whopping 84% off
09:09and four months extra for free right now.
09:12And there's also a 30-day money-back guarantee
09:14if you're not super-duper satisfied.
09:16So wherever you are right now,
09:17why not give Surfshark VPN a try and stay safe online?
09:22What do you think about software?
09:23This is the big one, obviously.
09:24This could be a whole video, Android versus iOS.
09:27Let's keep it to a tight minute.
09:28Okay.
09:29If you could only use one, Android 12 or iOS.
09:33I can't answer that.
09:35I do like both.
09:36One thing I will say is on the Pixel
09:37is it's been very buggy in my experience.
09:40There's a lot of apps.
09:41The YouTube Creator Studio is one,
09:43which is an app by Google as well,
09:45which is kind of weird.
09:47If I'm taking a screenshot, I can't crop it.
09:49It just pauses,
09:50and then I have to go back into Photos to crop it,
09:53which is something that's, again,
09:54seems like something that should be really basic.
09:57So I think Android 12 will improve with time,
09:59but at this point, I'm very tempted,
10:02and I think I will switch back to my S21 Ultra
10:05when I get back.
10:06We do have Android 12 on the S21 now.
10:07That's just come out, so I want to have a play with that.
10:11I do like Android 12, and it does feel quite fresh,
10:13and there's something about the iPhone
10:15that still feels quite dated in terms of,
10:18obviously, we have widgets now,
10:19and it's fine, and with ProMotion on the screen,
10:23it does feel fast,
10:24but there's just something more instantaneous.
10:27I think it's the quicker animations.
10:28I think it's the fresh look of Android 12
10:31going to the iPhone just feels a bit old-fashioned.
10:34Yeah, I think that's kind of deliberate with Apple.
10:36They like to keep things consistent.
10:38They don't like to make any drastic changes.
10:39One of the things I always complain about
10:41on my iPhone 13 Pro Max is it's a large screen, right?
10:46But you still have these very large icons.
10:50You could easily have a row of five.
10:52I know, I know.
10:53Five columns, and you could fit in a lot more,
10:55but they're just so big and spaced out,
10:58and I get that that's because of consistency
11:00across the other iPhones.
11:01They're all in the same format,
11:02but I would like the option like I have on the Pixel,
11:05where it's like, actually, no, I want five.
11:06Five by five or five by six or something.
11:08Yeah, exactly.
11:08And there's no split screen or multitasking,
11:10which is incredible,
11:11and it works so well even on the iPad mini.
11:13I'll be honest with you.
11:14I very rarely use multi-window on my smartphone.
11:19I use it a lot on my iPad.
11:20That's the end.
11:21Okay, I'll just leave.
11:22Yeah, see you later.
11:23But it's this lack of options.
11:25As you say, there's a simplicity to the iPhone,
11:27there's a consistency to iPhone,
11:30and as you say, there are some bugs still with the Pixel,
11:33but it has just come out.
11:34Well, that's not an excuse, really,
11:35if you're buying a phone.
11:36I mean, if it's retail,
11:37if you can buy, right now, you can go out and buy a Pixel.
11:40It should be fine.
11:41It should be flawless.
11:42Yeah, and a lot of the tweets
11:43that I'm getting from a lot of followers as well
11:44is like, there's so many bugs,
11:46and they need to be fixed very quickly
11:49because YouTube, for example,
11:50if I've got YouTube connected to my car
11:53and I'm listening to a podcast, for example,
11:55it'll cut off, and it'll just close the app,
11:58and that's it, right?
11:59And I'm like, I'm driving,
12:00so I can't even go to it
12:02because, obviously, I'm driving, right?
12:04And I've never had that with any other smartphone before.
12:06But again, there are lots of other good things as well.
12:09The display is actually really good.
12:11It is, and actually, we didn't really touch
12:13on the design point,
12:14but obviously, this hole punch
12:16is significantly smaller than a notch.
12:18It is, it is.
12:19And that's something that is a bit of a plus
12:20when you're full-screening a video
12:22and you wanna sort of zoom in.
12:23I was watching a bit of Narcos on the plane
12:25on my downloaded Netflix,
12:27and I wanted just to fully zoom in
12:29to make it as big as possible.
12:30And then you get the thing,
12:31and 99% of the time, I don't care about the notch.
12:34I'm more used to it now.
12:35It's been here for, what, three years?
12:36But when you're playing games
12:38or when you're full-screening a video, like, oh, it's...
12:40Yeah, I totally agree.
12:41Like, when we're looking at the overall design,
12:43obviously, the punch out with the overall smaller bezels
12:46is better here in the Pixel.
12:48This feels more modern, I would say.
12:49Yeah, but the iPhone is also brighter.
12:52But at the same time, even though it's brighter
12:54and both of these have 120 Hertz,
12:57the battery life on the iPhone is significantly better.
13:00Yes, this is still good.
13:01And actually, one of the big problems we've had before
13:03with Pixels is they've been pretty bad.
13:06So it's so interesting because a lot of people
13:08have had either good experience with battery life,
13:11like me and you.
13:11I'm getting through the day absolutely fine.
13:13Others have had terrible experiences, right?
13:15Now, I think I figured out what it is.
13:18When I'm out and about, you know,
13:20the battery life is not significantly hit
13:22because 5G is not so prominent.
13:25If I go to London,
13:26the battery life drops significantly quicker.
13:29I mean, that would happen on both.
13:30But more so on the Pixel.
13:32Interesting.
13:33So that's something that I personally noticed on my Pixel
13:35is if I am in 5G areas,
13:37it does seem to affect the battery life more.
13:39And the people who have been kind of saying
13:42that the battery life hasn't been excellent are in...
13:45The cities like that.
13:46Yeah, like New York and places like that.
13:48So again, I think it comes down to personal usage,
13:51but I think we can very safely say
13:53that the iPhone has much better battery life.
13:56I don't think there's a better battery
13:56on a mainstream phone than the 13 Pro Max.
13:58And obviously this does last significantly longer
14:01than even the 13 Pro.
14:02And again, that comes back to,
14:04this is not necessarily a direct competitor to the Max.
14:08Back to the price.
14:08Back to the price.
14:09And so this whole time we have to keep that in mind
14:11that this is 200, 300 pounds cheaper
14:13or something like that.
14:14Significantly cheaper.
14:15Maybe not over a two, three year contract.
14:17Maybe it wouldn't make that much difference,
14:18but you can't expect exactly the same performance
14:21across the board.
14:22But I would say battery,
14:23I'm getting maybe 25% left at the end of the day
14:26versus about 40%.
14:28Yeah.
14:29So I would say,
14:30the way I kind of calculated it
14:31is I'm getting around 20, 25% better battery life
14:35on the iPhone compared to the Pixel.
14:37Now you mentioned the price.
14:38So there's an interesting point
14:40that I want to mention on the price right now.
14:41The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra
14:43is available for a very good deal right now.
14:47If I was to choose between that and the S21 Ultra,
14:52I would personally go with the S21 Ultra.
14:54I would.
14:54It's a more fully fledged phone.
14:56I would agree.
14:57I do like elements of this,
14:59but now we have Android 12 on the S21.
15:03I would agree with you on that.
15:04And obviously we've got the S22
15:05probably coming in just a couple of months.
15:07In a couple of months, yeah.
15:07So if you're looking to buy a new phone,
15:08you're like, should I get the Pixel?
15:10You could either get the S21 Ultra discounted
15:12or just wait a little bit
15:13and see what that new flagship 2022 phone's
15:15going to look like.
15:16This is coming out at a kind of awkward time.
15:18Obviously, one thing we've not talked about
15:20is it's the Tensor Core chip.
15:22Google's own chip, which obviously has a lot of,
15:24well, presumably we've seen the efficiencies,
15:27the integration between Apple's hardware and software
15:30that's paid dividends in terms of power,
15:33performance, efficiency.
15:34Hopefully that's something we'll see more of
15:36in the future, but it-
15:37At this point, it's-
15:38There's nothing really to it.
15:39It's the first generation, right?
15:41Yes.
15:42It's the first time they've done it.
15:43You're still going to have to have some time,
15:46a few generations before it becomes-
15:47Because this doesn't quite compete
15:49with a Snapdragon 888.
15:51So brand new, not quite hitting even the current phones.
15:56So obviously they're going to have a lot of ISP,
15:59camera stuff going on, which they can tailor
16:03and they can work with,
16:03but it's not really a selling point.
16:06I'm browsing Reddit, I see tons of these Pixel ads
16:08and it's like, got a new Tensor Core.
16:11What does that matter to the average person?
16:14What does that matter?
16:14Like, you know, how is that going to affect
16:16my day-to-day usage?
16:17Yeah, it's not as fast as the S21 Ultra or the iPhone.
16:19Yeah.
16:20And there's nothing except, you know what?
16:23I've just thought, one thing I do love about this,
16:25Magic Eraser.
16:26Have you used that?
16:27Okay, I've got some-
16:28I feel like you have some strong thoughts
16:30about Magic Eraser because sure, it's a cool feature,
16:34which other apps already did.
16:36Now it's integrated.
16:37Sure, I like that.
16:39It can work.
16:41I've had some good experience.
16:43But generally speaking,
16:44like in terms of the stuff that I would use it for,
16:47it doesn't do great, okay?
16:48So it's never going to be perfect.
16:50Like, yes, they'll give you the ideal scenarios
16:53where you've got, you know, a person in the background.
16:55Very clearly separated.
16:57That's standing on the beach in the sand.
16:59So then it's very easy to cut around that person.
17:01But it's, you know,
17:02coming from somebody who uses Photoshop a lot,
17:05it's almost like the healing brush tool
17:07where you just kind of like paint over somewhere.
17:09It's going to look at things around it
17:11and it's going to make up for that.
17:13Yes, it's a cool feature.
17:15I don't think it's a huge selling point.
17:17I've not really, like,
17:17I didn't even talk about it in my videos
17:19because it's like, it's cool,
17:20but it's kind of been around already.
17:22And it's, yes, it's integrated, but it's not great.
17:25I know we talked about cameras,
17:26but I would say the same thing
17:27about cinematic mode and photography modes.
17:29Totally.
17:29We spent a lot of time talking about that
17:31when they first came out.
17:32Have you used either since?
17:33Nope.
17:34And, you know, I mean,
17:35you're saying that we spent a lot of time
17:36talking about those.
17:37I did not spend a lot of time talking about those.
17:40In my camera comparison of the iPhone,
17:41I was like, here are the photographic styles.
17:43This is what you get,
17:44but the iPhone takes great shots.
17:46Already.
17:47Already.
17:48Just trust it to do its thing.
17:49Now you can like,
17:50if there's a particular style that you want,
17:51sure, but I already like it.
17:53If I want to make some tweaks,
17:54I'd rather make those in post.
17:55I don't want them baked into my photo, right?
17:58So that's something with the photographic styles.
18:00Cinematic mode, you know,
18:02Apple did shout about it a lot.
18:03Let's be real here.
18:05It can look okay,
18:06but you're going to use it once for your review.
18:09You're never going to use it again.
18:10My entire review was shot in it,
18:12which was great.
18:13And it does work,
18:14but I'm not having a 24 FPS option,
18:15which is what cinematic people would want to shoot in,
18:18or 4K, but we do get ProRes.
18:20And actually one thing I've loved about the iPhone
18:23since we've had that ProRes update,
18:24I've got the 512 gig one,
18:26using up the space,
18:27but shooting ProRes video on this,
18:29and then airdropping it to my Mac,
18:30and being able to edit it,
18:31it's so clean.
18:32The noise, there's minimal noise,
18:34and the stabilization.
18:36Video on a smartphone,
18:37the iPhone is king.
18:39That's something that I think is universally agreed upon,
18:42amongst pretty much all tech reviewers.
18:45But you mentioned airdrop and ProRes files, right?
18:49I like airdrop.
18:50What I don't like is that we still have a lightning port.
18:54This is something that I've ranted about before a lot,
18:56but if you do have a lot of ProRes files,
18:59and you've got like,
19:00potentially eight.
19:01Airdrop's fine,
19:03but you don't want to be,
19:04you just want something that's going to fit as USB-C,
19:06you'd get it.
19:07And Apple themselves,
19:08in the iPad mini presentation,
19:11made a big feature of it being 10 times faster.
19:14And it was like a selling point.
19:15It was a selling point that it's 10 times faster.
19:16And the reason why it's 10 times faster,
19:18is because they're using USB type C.
19:20Right now we're here in Laguna Beach.
19:22I've been going with one cable,
19:24USB-C,
19:25for my MacBook Pro,
19:27for my Pixel 6 Pro.
19:29I can't use it for my iPhone.
19:31I can also use it for my iPad Pro.
19:32So I've got my iPad Pro,
19:33and again,
19:34I can use that single cable for all of these things.
19:36I can't use it for my iPhone.
19:38And it is time,
19:39I think,
19:40you know,
19:41I get it.
19:42There's an ecosystem around the accessories
19:43and all of that,
19:44but-
19:45That's not a reason not to innovate.
19:46Lightning is now outdated.
19:48We need to move to USB-C.
19:49It's slow,
19:50it's dead.
19:51Nothing else uses it.
19:52Not even any other Apple device,
19:53except the cheapest iPad.
19:54Yeah.
19:55And that is like a compromise because of it.
19:57And yet on these thousand pound phones,
19:59it's like,
19:59okay, Lightning,
20:00I've got to bring another cable.
20:01Not the end of the world.
20:02I use MagSafe charging primarily,
20:03but you're right,
20:04for getting stuff on and off it,
20:06particularly those ProRes files,
20:07it's a pain in the backside,
20:08especially when you've got a couple of minutes of it,
20:10it's like 20 gigs.
20:11You mentioned the charging.
20:12I mean, yeah,
20:13MagSafe is something that I really do like.
20:15I personally just use wireless charging.
20:16It's not the fastest out there.
20:18No, but overnight,
20:19who cares?
20:19Exactly.
20:20Because the battery life is so good on here anyway,
20:22there's not been a single day where I've kind of run out
20:25of battery,
20:25drop in and out.
20:26It's the only phone I've ever had,
20:28I have not had any battery anxiety.
20:29At all.
20:30And that for me is possibly the selling point.
20:33Yeah.
20:33We can talk about software features,
20:35we can talk about camera differences,
20:36but if one phone you know,
20:38isn't going to die before the end of your night out,
20:40or you're going to be able to get your Uber home.
20:41Yep.
20:42It's this.
20:43And that is absolutely fundamental to us as power users.
20:47And what made me appreciate this a lot more was,
20:49I was in Munich and I had my Z3 Flip with me.
20:54Okay.
20:54And that died by about 5 p.m.
20:57It's pretty poor battery,
20:58isn't it?
20:59And I was just like,
20:59it just made me appreciate this so much more.
21:01So yeah,
21:02the iPhone 13 Pro Max,
21:03I think Apple have picked a lot of boxes.
21:06Sure it's not perfect,
21:07but you are paying that additional price for it.
21:09Yes.
21:10The Pixel,
21:11I would say,
21:12you know,
21:13if you are somebody who wants that Google experience,
21:15it's a very good phone.
21:16You get that Google Pixel look for images as well,
21:18which a lot of people like.
21:20It is a good overall phone.
21:22I don't want to kick it down too much.
21:23I would argue it's better value for money.
21:24I think you're getting a flagship device
21:26and not quite a flagship phone.
21:28This makes me think,
21:29why would anyone still buy a OnePlus 9 Pro?
21:31Yeah.
21:32I mean,
21:33I would go for this,
21:33but a hundred percent,
21:34I would go for this for the camera.
21:35Yeah.
21:36And the updates,
21:37because obviously one of the key selling points of Pixels
21:38is you are the first to get new Androids.
21:40Yeah.
21:41And security updates.
21:42So that's a real safe haven there.
21:44Three years minimum
21:45with five years of security updates as well.
21:47The tricky part is the S21 Ultra
21:49has been discounted so much
21:50and the S22 is coming out soon.
21:52And this is significantly cheaper
21:54and has some benefits to it as well.
21:57Yeah.
21:57So it's kind of a hard time to pick a best phone.
22:00I'm happy I get to carry around both.
22:02And actually at this tech conference we're at,
22:03I'm seeing on the tables,
22:05everyone has an iPhone 13,
22:07everyone has a Pixel.
22:08I have a few galaxies thrown in there.
22:10But if I'm completely honest with you,
22:12when I get back,
22:13I will be switching back to the S21 Ultra.
22:15Which doesn't sound like a great ending for the Pixel,
22:17but I'm just going to leave you with the fact
22:19that my wife has a 6 Pro and loves it.
22:21My brother has a 6 Pro
22:23and my dad has a 6 Pro
22:24and they've all bought them individually themselves.
22:26So they weren't sponsored,
22:27you weren't sponsored by Google?
22:28So this video is sponsored by Google.
22:29No, this side is sponsored by Apple,
22:32I'm just joking.
22:33No sponsorships here except Surfshark
22:34who very kindly provided integration.
22:36But my family have all upgraded to the Pixel
22:39and they love it.
22:40And they're like,
22:41I don't really want an iPhone.
22:42And so it all comes down to ecosystem,
22:44what you're familiar with.
22:45They're both fantastic,
22:46but I think in terms of an overall best phone,
22:49it has to be the iPhone.
22:50Yeah, I would agree.
22:51Yeah, well thank you so much Saf.
22:54For coming and having a chat about iPhones and Pixels.
22:56And what do you guys think?
22:57If you had to go for one of these,
22:58would you go Pixel 6 or iPhone?
23:01Or none of the above?
23:01And we will see you next time right here.
23:03Well, I'll see you, not him.
23:04He's never coming on the channel again.
23:05I'll say this, this is the last one.
23:07Just go over to my channel
23:08and you'll see a lot more of me.
23:10See you next time on the Tech Chat.
