00:08Welcome to Is it Us Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:12And you guessed it, we're talking about the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra in this video.
00:16Now, as you may have noticed, we didn't even bother unboxing this phone because
00:20there's really not a lot in these boxes anymore.
00:23These are the thinner Samsung boxes.
00:25So, we have the phone, paperwork, SIM eject tool, and the charging cord.
00:31So, in this video, we're gonna go right into it.
00:33We're checking out what the cameras are for,
00:36what's so unique about this particular Ultra device.
00:39We're also, of course, doing a camera tour and some sample shots.
00:42Let's start.

01:04So, like mentioned in my first S22 series video,
01:08this S22 Ultra really does feel like a Note versus an S series device.
01:14You have that great big screen, which offers such a nice viewing experience on the phone.
01:19And it also wraps around just enough so that you feel that it's really very big and immersive.
01:25But on the other hand, it isn't too much that you'd worry about, like,
01:29accidentally touching the edges of the phone.
01:31And you know what they say about big screens on big phones?
01:35Well, you're gonna need bigger pockets.
01:37Let's just say this phone precariously peeks out of my pockets.
01:42I have the burgundy color, which a lot of people seem to like.
01:45Though, personally, I'd go for the white one.
01:48It just looks so clean.
01:49And I feel like that would match with a whole lot of other outfits and color combinations.
01:55Of course, the main thing about the S22 Ultra is that
01:59this Ultra now comes with an S Pen built-in.
02:02That means you're getting the same S Pen features that we all know and love,
02:06like, note-taking on your phone.
02:08And it's still very satisfying.
02:10Samsung also claims that there's less latency this time around.
02:14And with the S Pen come my favorite S Pen feature, S Pen selfies.
02:18Basically like the old S Pen, this can help you maneuver through your camera.
02:24So swiping up or down, all these gestures correspond to a certain thing.
02:30And this also means remote selfies.
02:32That's a 40 megapixel front-facing selfie camera on that punch hole up front.
02:37And it makes for some good-looking shots.
02:42Oh, the autofocus on that.
02:43And yes, this is being shot with the front-facing camera of the S22 Ultra.
02:48Personally, I'm a fan of the shooting situation
02:50because I find that it's such an easy way to get your own shots.
02:54And here's the deal.
02:55If you're specifically looking to get this shooting setup on a phone,
02:59the S22 Ultra is currently the best phone for it.
03:03That's because your other two options if you want to do these S Pen selfies
03:07are one, the Note 20 Ultra that came out two years ago.
03:11And this comes with an S Pen built into the phone.
03:13But it also reps a 10 megapixel two-year-old camera.
03:17On the other hand, you can also opt for the S21 Ultra.
03:22That's last year's S series flagship.
03:25It has a 40 megapixel selfie camera.
03:28But it doesn't come with an S Pen or a slot to keep it in.
03:31On the back, that's a 108 megapixel main shooter,
03:34a 12 megapixel wide, and a dual 10 megapixel zoom camera situation.
03:40Yes, there are two telephoto cameras on the back.
03:43One with a 10x optical zoom and a 100x space zoom.
03:48Yes, those crazy zooms that everyone's been shooting the moon with.
03:58Okay, this is 4K 30fps wide, 1x, 3x, 10x, and it can do up until 20.
04:17Back to 1x.
04:194K can do 1x, up until 6x.
04:27Full HD 30 is the default resolution.
04:29This is wide, 1x, 3x, 10x.
04:37That is 20x on video.
04:41And then there's that 3x optical zoom camera for better portraits.
04:48Okay, let me show you.
04:49This is what 3x on portrait looks like, and this is what 1x looks like.
04:55This, on the other hand, is what it looks like when you ask your boyfriend to move closer
05:00so that it is a tighter shot of you and it's a portrait shot.
05:04You see the difference?
05:14Right, camera tour time.
05:15Let's start off with photo.
05:17We have wide, 1x, 3x, 10x, up until 100x.
05:25And it has that super steady zoom feature which allows you to zoom in 100 times
05:30but have really nice, not shaky photos.
05:33You have settings up top.
05:35You have flash settings.
05:36You have timer settings.
05:38You have size.
05:40You have motion photo and also different filters.
05:44My filters option which is great because it sort of copies off a look from already existing photos.
05:50So if you're someone who is curating a feed, that's a great feature.
05:55And then you have some beauty mode options.
05:58On the right, you have video.
06:00And if you've seen my hands-on video of all the new S22 devices,
06:04you would have seen me talk about this.
06:05Rear cameras can shoot 8K 24fps and that only does 1x up until 6x.
06:15You can do 4K 60 and that does wide 1x, 3x, 10x, up until 20x.
06:24And I've shown a couple of these samples earlier on in this video.
06:29And of course, the default would be Full HD 30fps.
06:34Under more, you have a pro mode.
06:38All those different settings.
06:40And yes, this allows you to shoot RAW.
06:43You have pro video.
06:45Again, you can use ultra wide, wide, telephoto, 3x zoom, and then super telephoto, 10x zoom.
06:53You can also shoot, again, 8K.
06:57And you have all the different settings down here.
06:59You have the single take mode which we've seen in other Samsung phones.
07:03A night mode that can do wide 1x, 3x, 10x, up until 10x.
07:10You have a food mode.
07:12Ooh, look, you can move the focus area and you can take out the blur effect.
07:19You can also change the temperature.
07:21And can you zoom? Yes, up until 10x.
07:24You have a panorama mode.
07:27You have a super slow-mo mode.
07:29But as you can see, you have to record in really bright natural light for this mode
07:35to shoot nice video.
07:36And you also have a slow-motion mode.
07:39There's a hyperlapse mode, portrait video.
07:42As you can see, my background has now been blurred and there are different blur effects.
07:48This is the glitch effect, color point.
07:51And you can also do 1x, 3x.
07:56And that's about it.
07:57There's also a director's view mode which we've seen this before.
08:03But basically, it allows you previews so you know which cameras you'd want to use while shooting.
08:10So as you're recording, you can switch it around, basically.
08:14Right, on the other side, we have a portrait mode.
08:18So that's 1x, defaults to 3x, no zoom.
08:24You can also change your blur effect strength and your different background blur settings
08:30as you can see here.
08:31And then more settings.
08:34You also have flash settings, timer settings, size settings, and then your skin smoothness feature.
08:41Under the selfie mode, you have, of course, a wide 1x.

08:47You can blur your background as well.
08:49There are settings, flash settings, timer.

08:55On the right, a photo mode, wide 1x.
08:59You have your filters up here, a lot of them.

09:11Use the beauty mode to enhance the real you.
09:13Use the beauty mode like makeup, not to change how you look, but to enhance how you look, yeah?

09:21And you can shoot up until 4k 60fps on video.
09:27You also have, ooh, auto framing mode.
