00:00:00Welcome back to Bear with you, the Boston Bruins are 3-2-0, and that is good enough
00:00:22for second in the Atlantic, fourth in the Eastern Conference, and tenth in the National
00:00:27Hockey League.
00:00:28That's funny, that's where I'm talking to you.
00:00:29Rob, how are you doing?
00:00:30I'm doing good.
00:00:31Yeah.
00:00:32Good to hear the show is brought to you by PrizePix, the exclusive video fantasy partner

00:00:42What's up, dude?
00:00:43Hi.
00:00:44Hi.
00:00:45Hi.
00:00:46I'm so tired.
00:00:47Why?
00:00:48It was a late game.
00:00:49It was a late game.
00:00:50It was late.
00:00:51So they're like, it's 930.
00:00:53And then they're like, just fucking kidding, you idiot, it's 952.
00:00:58And then they're like, no, it's not, because the Penguins game isn't over.
00:01:01Deal with it.
00:01:02I don't know.
00:01:03I'm complaining.
00:01:04I'm up that late anyways.
00:01:05I know, but there's something about, like, the brain takes a turn around 10, 1030 p.m.
00:01:12where it's like, now I'm in night mode.
00:01:14Now I like to call it Dark Joe.
00:01:18And Dark Joe is not watching hockey, Joe.
00:01:21Dark Joe does things we don't talk about on the air.
00:01:24Dark Joe stares at a wall menacingly.
00:01:26I stroke my cat's head, and I think of, I plot destruction and shit.
00:01:30You know what I'm saying?
00:01:31You just turn into a James Bond villain after 10 p.m.
00:01:33Yeah.
00:01:34Dark Joe.
00:01:35Yeah.
00:01:36Is that why you went to bed at 930 in college?
00:01:37Is that what it was?
00:01:38I went into the bathroom at 930.
00:01:41I came out at 2 a.m. when Dark Joe recedes to the back of my consciousness.
00:01:45But I figured you were, like, IBS or something.
00:01:48But I guess Bond villain is equally likely, equally likely.
00:01:51Bond villain.
00:01:52So I had my suit hung in the bathroom.
00:01:55No, but it's hard to, like, keep your brain engaged in, like, late game, because your
00:02:00body and your brain are like, this is not the time that I'm supposed to be watching
00:02:03hockey.
00:02:04It's not that late.
00:02:05I stay up crazy.
00:02:06I go to bed.
00:02:07I'm happy if I don't see 4 a.m.
00:02:10And for whatever reason, if there's hockey on at 1130, I'm like, what are they doing?
00:02:15Get off the ice.
00:02:16Yeah.
00:02:17I went to bed at, like, 230.
00:02:20I got into the bedroom and my fiance was awake and I was like, Hey, don't worry about it.
00:02:26It's fine.
00:02:27Like, hello.
00:02:28Hello.
00:02:29Yeah.
00:02:30Whatever it was.
00:02:31It's kind of my least favorite part about it is that, like, Bruins Twitter's asleep.
00:02:35Like, there's, like, very few people to, like, discuss the game with live.
00:02:39Part of that, too, is that it's just early in the season.
00:02:42Like, I think if that same game is, you know, if they're fighting for a playoff spot and
00:02:47it's, you know, March, I think that you have a different, you know, late night Bruins Twitter
00:02:53experience.
00:02:54Yeah.
00:02:55Game five against Colorado on a Wednesday.
00:02:59No, that's that ain't going to be it.
00:03:01It's like why, like, the California trip is even tougher because, like, that puck drop
00:03:04is like 1020 p.m. and it's always during the week, even if it's not, even if it is a Friday
00:03:10or Saturday, like, you don't want to by the time 1030 rolls around, you're not like who's
00:03:13ready to watch three hours of hockey?
00:03:17I mean, me, but I mean, yeah, the average fan is, you know, not engaging with that.
00:03:23So I can't watch hockey, dude.
00:03:24I have a busy schedule of sitting on my couch the rest of the night.
00:03:27I can't.
00:03:28I can't do two things.
00:03:30How am I supposed to play sitting here in front of my TV?
00:03:34Can't be done.
00:03:35But anyway, they won the game, though they won the game.
00:03:39They take time.
00:03:40They won.
00:03:41They look pretty dang good.
00:03:44That was my opinion, too.
00:03:45I thought they looked good.
00:03:46Yeah.
00:03:47The first half, I would maybe not perfect, you know, half and a half.
00:03:50But I texted you.
00:03:51I'm like, this is the best they have played all season.
00:03:55It was equal parts.
00:03:56They were figuring it out and the lines working.
00:03:58But also, Colorado is not very good, which I don't know what it is.
00:04:03I think it's there.
00:04:04I don't know, because, like, they are still they're so strong, they're so fast.
00:04:09But I don't know.
00:04:11Team chemistry feels like such a cop out to throw out something like that.
00:04:14But there is something in terms of game planning and connecting that just doesn't click.
00:04:19There's something not clicking there.
00:04:21The intangibles.
00:04:22Yeah.
00:04:23Yeah.
00:04:24They don't have enough grit.
00:04:25Yeah.
00:04:26Not enough sandpaper.
00:04:27They're low on intestinal fortitude.
00:04:33I don't have I genuinely don't have a response to that.
00:04:37That wiped my brain.
00:04:38I don't know.
00:04:39That was it.
00:04:40That was that.
00:04:41That's probably a good place to leave it.
00:04:42Band name intestinal fortitude.
00:04:44Yeah.
00:04:45Yeah.
00:04:46There's something there.
00:04:47I'm still hung up on Canadian Thanksgiving as a band name, not as a concept.
00:04:52Oh, honestly, a little hung up on the concept, too.
00:04:54What are you giving?
00:04:55Thanks for what?
00:04:56What do they get?
00:04:57Yeah.
00:04:58Also, why can't they just, like, share our day?
00:05:00You're thankful that you have boxing day.
00:05:02Okay.
00:05:03What the hell is boxing?
00:05:04I don't know.
00:05:05I think I see it on the calendars.
00:05:08We got to leave him alone.
00:05:09I'm not interested in your secrets.
00:05:11We got to stop talking about it.
00:05:13We're going to manifest them if we discuss them any longer.
00:05:15But where do you want to start on this game?
00:05:17Do you want to talk about your son?
00:05:18You want to talk Patsy?
00:05:19You want to talk Charlie Coyle?
00:05:21Coyle's got the best game yet.
00:05:24Yeah.
00:05:25You want to start there?
00:05:27Yeah.
00:05:28Let's talk about Coyle.
00:05:29Let's talk about Charlie Coyle.
00:05:31He's emerging, dude.
00:05:32He's here.
00:05:33He is.
00:05:34Actually, before we even get to that, some leading into it.
00:05:38So in this game, you sit Morgan Geeky, who is without a point so far, and you sit Justin
00:05:44Brazzo.
00:05:45It's early in the season.
00:05:47You want everybody to get on the ice.
00:05:48I get it.
00:05:49I don't like sitting either of those guys.
00:05:51I understand Geeky's without a point, but I still have liked his play.
00:05:54I very much like Brazzo's play.
00:05:57And then they brought in Riley Tufte and Max Jones.
00:05:59I have been vocal about my dislike of Riley Tufte's game.
00:06:05This game didn't dissuade me from that opinion.
00:06:07If anything, it vindicated me.
00:06:10Max Jones was fine.
00:06:12That was kind of it.
00:06:13I forgot he was in the game for most of it, which is not always the worst thing.
00:06:17Not always the best thing.
00:06:18But because of the change in the line, the Coyle who had been playing with Geeky in this
00:06:24game primarily played with Marshan and Frederick.
00:06:27On paper, you read Brad Marshan, Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederick.
00:06:32I immediately go, possession.
00:06:34Those are three guys who very reliably come away with the puck in a one-on-one battle.
00:06:40And boy, did that actually happen.
00:06:43They were oppressive.
00:06:46Usually when you theorize a line, when you see it, you're like, oh, it's going to be
00:06:49like this.
00:06:50It doesn't always work out that way.
00:06:52But I thought they looked very good together.
00:06:56That's a Coyle's first goal of the season coming off of a real cheeky Mason Lora pass.
00:07:04Kid's all right.
00:07:05But generally speaking, I did very much like Coyle's game.
00:07:09I hope this is kind of the start of him catching fire a little bit.
00:07:15One game at a time.
00:07:16But yeah, what were your impressions, Joe?
00:07:21Of Charlie?
00:07:22Of Charlie.
00:07:23Of Chuck.
00:07:25I think I'm just happy to see that it's still there, that something didn't magically happen
00:07:32because it's not uncommon for a guy to just kind of show up a little late and revive their
00:07:42former self and be like, hey, I'm still here.
00:07:45I was reaching a point where I was kind of done waiting for it.
00:07:50Last year was kind of this transition period where like, yeah, Charlie Coyle is your one
00:07:54C, you know, coming from Bergeron to Coyle and like this kind of weird like passing of
00:07:59the torch kind of deal.
00:08:02And having like one primo year of that, I would have sucked, would have sucked because
00:08:09I'm firm in my belief that that's who Charlie Coyle is.
00:08:13Well, like a 60 point player like what he was last year.
00:08:18Yeah.
00:08:19Yeah.
00:08:20Also just a quarterback.
00:08:21Just a quarterback.
00:08:22Yeah.
00:08:23Just a smart veteran center that's not going to, I mean, those first couple of games of
00:08:29the year just looked, he looked labored, I think was the word.
00:08:34I think you could say that for a few of the guys.
00:08:36But yeah, I think Coyle's definitely, definitely one of them.
00:08:39It's things are not coming easily for him.
00:08:43It's taking a little bit more effort than it normally would.
00:08:47I wonder how much the line shuffling affects those guys, the guys who are veterans and
00:08:52played elsewhere where maybe that didn't happen as much.
00:08:55Yeah, I don't know.
00:08:56I also think putting this line back together, and we've said this many times, Coyle and
00:09:00Frederick should be playing together as often as humanly possible.
00:09:05Go as far back to the Oceans line with Craig Smith, where they were just the Bruins best
00:09:10line for like the better part of a month.
00:09:13I think they complement each other perfectly.
00:09:16I really hope we can keep them together.
00:09:20And I forgot about the Oceans line.
00:09:22Thanks for reminding me.
00:09:23Right.
00:09:24Yeah, right.
00:09:25That was one, two, three, 11, 12, 13.
00:09:28Yeah, no, I was pleasantly surprised with him, but it was also one of those games were
00:09:32damn near everybody.
00:09:33I was like, they're having a good game.
00:09:35They're having a good game.
00:09:36Yeah.
00:09:37Charlie Coyle or Charlie.
00:09:38Sorry.
00:09:39Other Charlie.
00:09:40Charlie McAvoy.
00:09:4123 minutes on the ice.
00:09:42Dog.
00:09:43Dog.
00:09:44Stallion.
00:09:45Stallion.
00:09:46Stallion.
00:09:4723 minutes.
00:09:48Led the team.
00:09:49Obviously, David Pasternak with 22 minutes.
00:09:50He plays a lot.
00:09:51He plays a lot.
00:09:52Those are like defenseman numbers.
00:09:5322 minutes.
00:09:54I mean, nobody else.
00:09:55No other forward crack 20.
00:09:56So, I mean, he's just my goodness.
00:09:57Is he?
00:09:58Are they getting their money's worth out of him?
00:09:59Five shots.
00:10:00Mason Lori.
00:10:01Step back.
00:10:0217 minutes.
00:10:03Less time on ice.
00:10:04Yeah.
00:10:05Yeah.
00:10:06Yeah.
00:10:07Yeah.
00:10:08Yeah.
00:10:09Yeah.
00:10:10Yeah.
00:10:11Yeah.
00:10:12Yeah.
00:10:1317 minutes.
00:10:14Less time on ice.
00:10:15Not the worst idea, perhaps.
00:10:19Although I will say I think I'm coming around on the idea of, you know, the preseason outlook
00:10:30on the defense was that they were this big, bad, massive court, which they are.
00:10:36But that implied just them being a brick wall.
00:10:40And you have so many offensively skilled defensemen that like, why you don't have to sacrifice
00:10:52one for the other is what I'm getting at.
00:10:54They're not this defensively minded, Claude Julien coached defense first team.
00:11:02They're also like such an offensive threat.
00:11:05I like that Mason like has the confidence to pull it out still, not that I'm not, not
00:11:10that he brings it out of other guys, but I like that being a trait that's like shared
00:11:13across the entire decor.
00:11:16What trade is that?
00:11:17Exactly.
00:11:18Um, a lack of fear to get involved offensively.
00:11:22Yeah.
00:11:23Okay.
00:11:24Yeah.
00:11:25Shoot the fucking puck.
00:11:26I think that's why Mason works so well here.
00:11:27Cause that kind of just is Monty system is that he puts a very big emphasis on the D
00:11:31helping with the transition and getting them involved in the rush.
00:11:34And, um, so, and I think when you have, uh, a defenseman like Mason Laurie, who is basically
00:11:40a forward, uh, in sheep's clothing, I, I think it works out really well.
00:11:45And I think at the same time, we're going to see a lot of growing pains and we have,
00:11:49we talked about that a lot, but when it works and it works and it's like, it's kind of like
00:11:54posture knock in a way where, yeah, there's quite a, quite a lot of liability.
00:11:59Uh, and yeah, like they're going to eat a lot of minutes and within that they're going
00:12:03to make some mistakes.
00:12:04But when they do what they're supposed to be doing, you kind of forget about all the
00:12:07other stuff.
00:12:08Are we talking about a Mason tax right now?
00:12:10We're talking about a Mason tax.
00:12:11We're talking a little bit about a Mason tax.
00:12:13Yeah.
00:12:14There's a little bit of Mason tax.
00:12:16What I like, I guess, but a better way to frame what I'm trying to get at here.
00:12:20I like the, a part of the Bruins identity being that there's always one defenseman on
00:12:26the ice.
00:12:27Who's a legitimate offensive threat.
00:12:28Yeah.
00:12:29I would agree with that.
00:12:30When you're in all three pairings, you have at least one guy that you're like, Oh shit,
00:12:34they're coming in on the rush or even in the zone.
00:12:38Like Mason just breaking, taking these opportunities, finding a window, finding a lane.
00:12:43And I said this last week, but Andrew peak is like having himself quite a bit of a season
00:12:49right now.
00:12:50I, when he is carrying the puck, I am pretty impressed.
00:12:53Uh, I think in terms of when you go back to think about when he came into the team and
00:12:58everybody's immediate reaction to like where I'm at least where I'm in on him now, day
00:13:03and night.
00:13:04Like I was like, Ooh, the fuck is this guy?
00:13:06I don't like him.
00:13:07And now when I see him on the ice, I'm like, hell yeah.
00:13:09Peaks out there.
00:13:10Like very responsible defensively, very quick about getting it up into the offensive zone.
00:13:15I have no qualms about Andrew peaks game right now.
00:13:18No, not a, not a, um, before we keep going, because I'm sure we have other thoughts on
00:13:24this game.
00:13:26We're going to take a quick break, talk to our good friends over at price picks.

00:14:23Yeah.
00:14:24In Worcester, my friend is choosing to get married in Worcester.
00:14:30Are they having the divorce the day after?
00:14:32I think.
00:14:33Yeah, I think they're doing it.
00:14:34Yeah.
00:14:35They're going to have a, well, the reception is also at a bar.
00:14:38So I think, I think what they're doing is they get married, then they go into a bar
00:14:41and then they're going to get into like a big fight.
00:14:43We're going to call the cops and then they're going to kiss in handcuffs.
00:14:48And then they're going to do like the just married thing, like run in the cans, like
00:14:52cans of natty light off of the back of the paddy wagon.
00:14:56Just arrested.
00:14:57And you got the other, other, uh, takes about Worcester.
00:15:03Hold on.
00:15:04Yeah.
00:15:05No.
00:15:06Uh, so this is our second showing of Jonas Corpus Allo.
00:15:09Yeah.
00:15:10Good.
00:15:11Good.
00:15:12Uh, I, I, I get better.
00:15:14Definitely way better.
00:15:15Uh, I know that, and this is a whole other can of worms that the TNT broadcast was like,
00:15:23Oh, might've been a soft one there on, especially the third goal.
00:15:26I know that is a can of worms because yeah, you started, my brain is trying really hard
00:15:30right now to focus on what you're saying and to not go off on the broadcast because I got
00:15:34a lot of thoughts on it, but yes, they were, they were a little tough on him right now.
00:15:38Cause I know that we're going to get derailed real quick.
00:15:40Uh, but yeah, so I, the goals that went in the Colorado power play is the fucking Colorado
00:15:47power play.
00:15:48Like I'm not losing sleep over blues, like letting in goals on the PK against Colorado.
00:15:53It's it's okay.
00:15:54Like they're going to do that.
00:15:55Uh, and if those are the only goals that went in, which they were very okay.
00:16:00He made a couple of big say he made like a big save on miles wood at the start of the
00:16:03game, like 55 seconds in.
00:16:05And then he made a couple of clutch saves at the end of the game when Colorado had the
00:16:09extra attacker, including one on a blocker on a redirection that like redirected like
00:16:14two feet in front of him, which I don't understand the physics of how you can react to that in
00:16:19time.
00:16:20Uh, but yeah, no, generally speaking, I, I am glad he got the win.
00:16:23Like it's one of those wins that like, you know, he had an eight 80 say percentage.
00:16:27So it's not like, Whoa, but you watch him play and like, he got the win and you held
00:16:32them off.
00:16:33That's all I want out of them.
00:16:34Like you got the win when it was your turn in that cool.
00:16:37If he can be good every five, six games, not five, six, I get, well, yeah, maybe every
00:16:44like four or five games, I think he's going to end up playing 27 ish, 25.
00:16:49If he can look good.
00:16:53That's fine.
00:16:55That's fine.
00:16:56That's really what you need from them.
00:16:57Uh, through two games, uh, he has a four 57 and an eight 50 save percentage.
00:17:05Obviously one of those games being, uh, a six goal performance in which he technically
00:17:12didn't finish the game, uh, you know, it just bumps the numbers up is what I'm saying.
00:17:18So yeah, even Swayze numbers aren't good right now.
00:17:22He's a two nine eight and a eight nine three, but it's, you know, he's played three games.
00:17:26He won two of them.
00:17:27So I mean, we were talking about Georgiev's numbers too, as was the broadcast, which again,
00:17:31me because I'm going to go off, but, um, yeah, I mean, Georgiev's numbers, same thing.
00:17:37It's so early in the year.
00:17:38It's like, it, it takes one bad star, one bad game, one bad period to just mess up your
00:17:43numbers.
00:17:44So you just simply can't look at, I mean, who, what, who are the NHL leaders right now?
00:17:48I was going to say, you look at the leaders and they have like a 0.5 goals allowed.
00:17:52It's because yeah, you've played four games.
00:17:54So the stats kind of, it's too early.
00:17:57Like it, I was about to, I was about to be like, yeah, dude, there's no way these
00:18:02idiots stay at the top.
00:18:03Uh, it's like Connor Hellebuck, Andrew Bezalewski, Ilya Simsonov, I'm like, oh wow, oh, oh wow.
00:18:09And Jake Allen, the first player to record a win against 33 different franchises.
00:18:15Casey Smith has a, yes it is, uh, Casey Smith has a 1,000 save percentage, or 1.0, however
00:18:21you want to say that.
00:18:22Yeah.
00:18:23Yeah.
00:18:24So it's like, it's too early.
00:18:2525 shots.
00:18:26He's seen 25 shots.
00:18:27But he stopped them all.
00:18:28But he stopped them all.
00:18:30Hellebuck, uh, Hellebuck's allowed two goals on 83 shots.
00:18:34Dude, Hellebuck.
00:18:35Talk about James Bonville and that, he's, I've said that so many times, he just looks
00:18:40like one.
00:18:41Hellebuck's great.
00:18:42Hellebuck, Hellebuck is something else.
00:18:44He really is.
00:18:45Um, a lot of good goaltending in the league right now.
00:18:47I think.
00:18:48A lot, you have a lot of really good goaltenders.
00:18:49Mm-hmm.
00:18:50Um, but yeah, in Corpo Solo, maybe one of them.
00:18:54We don't know yet.
00:18:55But he's, he's been fine.
00:18:56Um.
00:18:57Probably not.
00:18:58Probably not.
00:19:00Can we talk about the broadcast?
00:19:01Yeah.
00:19:02Well, fuck it.
00:19:03Let's just get into it.
00:19:04Oh my God.
00:19:05Do I hate TNT?
00:19:06What the hell was that?
00:19:07Eddie Olchek.
00:19:08Are you okay?
00:19:09He's on drugs.
00:19:10Is it just the air?
00:19:11Because Jack was always like that in Colorado too.
00:19:14But we assumed he was just stoned.
00:19:16But he was.
00:19:17He almost certainly was.
00:19:19Uh, yeah, no, like not even just like, I didn't like the things he said about the Bruins,
00:19:24which is true, but just like the way he was talking, it was just like, he sounded like
00:19:29he was half asleep.
00:19:30I, the one thing that like the, the, the, uh, altitude, all that, blah, blah, blah does
00:19:36to you, uh, is if you're on like medication, let's say you're on like a heart medication,
00:19:41like a blood thinner or something, the deal you can get, you can get a little loopy, you
00:19:47know, you can get big time loopy.
00:19:49Do I want to give Eddie Olchek the benefit of the doubt there?
00:19:53No, no, I do not.
00:19:54Thank you for asking.
00:19:55No, I don't.
00:19:56So I'm not going to.
00:19:57I was fucked up.
00:19:58Allegedly.
00:19:59Um, and everybody was, it wasn't just us that you said it.
00:20:03And I was like, yeah, I think you're right.
00:20:05And then went on Twitter and everybody was like, holy shit, what does Pete was tweeting
00:20:09something about?
00:20:10He was like, I'm reasonably certain that he's on something right now.
00:20:14Yeah.
00:20:15Yeah.
00:20:16But that's not even the real reason I hit the broadcast.
00:20:18It's just because like, and I know this, this is always the bias, but it's like the Bruins
00:20:24can do no right in the eyes of TNT.
00:20:27Apparently, uh, there was the crosscheck Carlo had on somebody and they're like, oh, he gives
00:20:32them a healthy crosscheck.
00:20:34It's like, he kind of didn't at all though.
00:20:36Did he like, I know if you get them in the right spot, it doesn't take a lot of effort
00:20:40to like really hurt some of the crosscheck, but it kind of seemed like nothing.
00:20:45Uh, I guess the biggest, well, the one that really stuck out to me was at one point Hampus
00:20:51was like on the red line, like the, in the neutral zone and shot it in.
00:20:57And in the follow through with his stick still up, like one of the avalanche players basically
00:21:00skated into it and like speared himself in the face and they're like, oh, is that not
00:21:05a call?
00:21:06Like what?
00:21:07A missed call.
00:21:08It's like it was in the follow through.
00:21:10Like that's never, ever called nor should it be.
00:21:15And then you saw like, go ahead, go ahead.
00:21:19We listened to a very biased broadcast.
00:21:22So like I know that that plays into it, that I'm so used to hearing, you know, the broadcast
00:21:29booth basically jumping and cheering, not basically literally jumping and cheering for
00:21:35the team on the ice.
00:21:37But like, I don't think that that has me so jaded that I can't take a step back and watch
00:21:44an unbiased broadcast, but I just want that.
00:21:49Like that bias makes it sound like there's like a victim complex at play where I'm like,
00:21:54why do they hate us?
00:21:57They don't like us.
00:21:59It's more like, I just think they're, they're like dumb and focus on the wrong things and
00:22:06like get outraged in weird moments and then ignore other things that are like, and then
00:22:14they start to develop patterns.
00:22:16And that's when you go like, okay, is this a team bias thing where like you're upset,
00:22:21but I hate to sound like I'm whining that, that they're not nice to my team, but they,
00:22:30I think it was the, it was the Lindholm hit the Elias Lindholm or the Elias Lindholm hit
00:22:37that looked like it might've been a hit to the head upon further review was not.
00:22:44It was a, who is it?
00:22:45A Jake, a Jake wall, a Jake wall.
00:22:50Is that who it was?
00:22:51I don't know.
00:22:52You're talking about now.
00:22:53Oh, he hit the, who he hit.
00:22:54Oh no.
00:22:55Miles Wood.
00:22:56Miles Wood.
00:22:57Jake wall.
00:22:58He, I think I'm thinking of Joseph was a goaltender.
00:23:01So you just making up a player.
00:23:03I think Miles would, I think Jake wall, I don't know how I got there.
00:23:07I think I just fucked his name up that bad.
00:23:09I think is what happened there.
00:23:12Miles Wood, uh, went, went down and for like, I want to say 48 minutes, that's all they
00:23:22talked about.
00:23:23Like, that's all the broadcast was, was them being like, did just focusing on that, talking
00:23:29about, you know, the, the, the dirty hitch and the, this and the league taking exception
00:23:34to those kinds of as if we can see what happened.
00:23:37We can see what happened.
00:23:38There's other things happening on the ice.
00:23:40Like you said, Charlie McAvoy getting crushed.
00:23:42I'm pretty sure that happened shortly after that same period, I think at least.
00:23:47And no focus on, no focus on it.
00:23:50And it's, like I said, I think it's less team bias, more just stupid.
00:23:54Like, why are we focusing on these, these weird things?
00:23:59The what's the Elias Lindholm thing.
00:24:01It barely was a hit.
00:24:03He makes contact with him, like everything about it.
00:24:08Even at full speed, nothing about it looks Matt like malicious.
00:24:13You clearly doesn't hit him anywhere up high.
00:24:16Like it's clearly his arm that he hits, especially cause that's what he's clutching on the ice.
00:24:22Like clearly in a lot of pain, the report now is saying that like, they don't believe
00:24:25it's anything serious, which is good because I genuinely thought his arm was broken at
00:24:29the time.
00:24:30Yeah.
00:24:31Um, I, and like, I, I'm not even really bothered by the fact that they like called it a major
00:24:36then reviewed it.
00:24:37Cause like, sure.
00:24:38Like there's no harm in it.
00:24:39Like you might as well because like the guys on the ice, what if you did miss it?
00:24:42What if that was a sneaky bad hit?
00:24:44Sure.
00:24:45Call it and then review it and then take it away, which is exactly what they did.
00:24:48Sure.
00:24:49But to pretend in any capacity, even after like one viewing of that hit, that it's anything
00:24:53other than just like incidental and a freak accident is crazy to me, but they wouldn't
00:25:00let it go.
00:25:01I don't know.
00:25:02People are like, that's interference.
00:25:03It is not at all.
00:25:05Like he let go of the puck like 0.6 seconds ago.
00:25:10Like even in slow motion, it's not late.
00:25:13Like it's one of those hits.
00:25:15So it was fine.
00:25:16And then like you said, the Charlie McVoy, Charlie McVoy on the ice, uh, in the corner
00:25:21and he's just getting worked over.
00:25:23He's three crosschecks to the back and then he's caught on the hot mic, clearly upset
00:25:27about it.
00:25:28Um, not, not a word on it by the product broadcast.
00:25:32They didn't say anything.
00:25:33It was so unspoken that when I was making the clip, I'm like, am I making mountains
00:25:37out of moles right now?
00:25:38Like, was this nothing?
00:25:39Uh, and then as I was thinking at you, Mack boy being like fucking Christ, I was like,
00:25:46Oh, okay.
00:25:47Maybe it was something.
00:25:48No, it certainly was.
00:25:50Yeah.
00:25:51They weren't, they were hardly commentating at all during that part.
00:25:53They kind of were just letting the game happen.
00:25:56I don't know.
00:25:57They really were weird.
00:25:58And I don't, I don't know.
00:25:59I don't necessarily care for the crew.
00:26:01Do you understand how bad your broadcast has to be for me to like desperately miss Nesson's
00:26:05broadcast quality?
00:26:06Like I love Judd and Brick and Andrew and like the people on it, but there's so much
00:26:11that is left to be desired from Nesson's broadcast.
00:26:14So for you, but you, I mean TNT for me to be like, damn, I really wish this was on Nesson
00:26:19right now.
00:26:20You're fucking up.
00:26:23It's weird.
00:26:24Yeah.
00:26:26Cause like people do like the intermission crew on a TNT, I, Amazon, I guess has a broadcast
00:26:36going on this year.
00:26:37Um, and people are saying it's like pretty good.
00:26:39Like the quality of the stream is like higher than most streams, which I look forward to.
00:26:43They do.
00:26:44I, yeah.
00:26:45I mean they do a good job with Thursday night football.
00:26:46I think Apple TV does a terrible job with baseball.
00:26:49So I hope that they don't dip their toe into the hockey water.
00:26:53Okay.
00:26:54Sunday night hockey.
00:26:55Ice.
00:26:56Ice.
00:26:57Uh, Bruins don't play a single game on Amazon this season.
00:27:01Perfect.
00:27:02So don't worry about it.
00:27:03So forget I even brought it up.
00:27:04I won't.
00:27:05Good.
00:27:06Uh, but yeah, let's talk about the game a bit more.
00:27:08Uh, who had the Bruins fourth line being the most productive line in the NHL?
00:27:15In the game.
00:27:17In the sport.
00:27:18Yeah.
00:27:19Like people are like, not only are they the best line on the Bruins.
00:27:21We got a frozen rub.
00:27:22Where is it?
00:27:24Oh, is it me?
00:27:27Hello.
00:27:28Hello.
00:27:29There he is.
00:27:30There he is.
00:27:31You're here.
00:27:32I never went away on my end.
00:27:35The most, I didn't have them as the most productive line in the sport.
00:27:37I did not put my hand up and say that I didn't have them as the most productive line on the
00:27:41team.
00:27:42That's just my opinion.
00:27:43I thought that the fourth line probably wasn't going to be the best line.
00:27:45No, but it's every game and like, yes, we're in a bubble and yes, it's going to pop, but
00:27:50that will not stop me from enjoying it.
00:27:52Also, like a lot of what they're doing is just hard work.
00:27:56Like they're not even getting like, they're getting bounces.
00:27:58Don't get me wrong, but like, it's not like they're all freak goals and they have a lot
00:28:03of opportunities that don't turn into goals too.
00:28:05It's not like they're shooting at like 85% or something like, uh, there's been like even
00:28:12last game, there was a number of chances.
00:28:14Like they're getting very good shots from like dangerous areas.
00:28:17They, the team in general, but specifically that line really seems to be effectively using
00:28:23the dump and chase, like getting it into a good area on the ice down low, getting in
00:28:27there, winning the battle and not being afraid of throwing it at the net and then just seeing
00:28:32what happens.
00:28:33Yeah.
00:28:34A mad.
00:28:35And can you imagine that they're scoring most goals and leading the league in plus minus
00:28:39plus nine plus nine plus eight best plus minus in league, which is crazy how that works.
00:28:47Oh, that's interesting.
00:28:48The lineup.
00:28:49Oh, did we start that?
00:28:50Not yet.
00:28:51But, but that is part of it.
00:28:52That is one of my own.
00:28:53It's interesting.
00:28:54That is interesting.
00:28:55Uh, tied 638th, which is last in the league in plus minus with a minus seven is Trent
00:29:03Frederick.
00:29:04Oh, that's interesting.
00:29:06It is.
00:29:07And it's, it's, I know I'm, I'm using plus minus to praise someone and now I'm going
00:29:11to tell you, but it doesn't really matter.
00:29:13Sure.
00:29:14It's an indicator.
00:29:15It's something.
00:29:17It's like, it's cool to see that the fourth line is leading the league.
00:29:20But when I see Freddy, mine is seven, I'm like, I still like Frederick's game.
00:29:24Like I, I'm not like, Oh yeah, of course it is.
00:29:28It's fine.
00:29:29It's fine.
00:29:30It's yeah.
00:29:31It's representative of, of, uh, team play more than anything.
00:29:36Do you, uh, do you remember, uh, the perfection line they had, there was this graphic that
00:29:44was like, wow, the best, the best, uh, cumulative plus minus in, in NHL history or something.
00:29:54And it was like their plus minus from the seasons, like added together.
00:30:00And I remember like it was posted by like, I think I could buy the NHL.
00:30:05I remember like every reporter quote, tweeting it and being like, this is not how plus minus
00:30:10works.
00:30:11You cannot, you cannot add two guys together and be like, they're on the ice at the same
00:30:18time.
00:30:19They're the same line.
00:30:20Like that's the same plus you're counting.
00:30:22Yeah.
00:30:23If you and I are on the ice for a goal, we are not a plus two.
00:30:28It doesn't, I don't know.
00:30:30But by our powers combined, yeah.
00:30:34But what if I really wanted to, uh, that's just three times as many goals as they add
00:30:40out there.
00:30:42I don't know.
00:30:43Yeah.
00:30:44It's fine.
00:30:45Uh, yeah.
00:30:46I know the fourth one.
00:30:47You had that cap key goal.
00:30:48Redirect cavity is like, who the fuck is who?
00:30:49Where were you?
00:30:50Who are you?
00:30:51I don't trust him yet.
00:30:52Can I say that?
00:30:53Can I say that now?
00:30:54I trust him.
00:30:55I'd, I'd let him carry my children.
00:30:58What?
00:30:59That's not what I didn't say.
00:31:00That's poor phrasing.
00:31:01Poor phrasing.
00:31:02Oh, you mean like hold your, I would let him bear my, no, that's the same thing.
00:31:07Nope.
00:31:08Bear my children.
00:31:09Bearing my children.
00:31:10Bear my children was the backup name for the show.
00:31:15Yeah.
00:31:16That's the behind the scenes episode.
00:31:18Uh, now what do you mean you don't trust him yet?
00:31:20Just cause he's too new and you don't know what's going on.
00:31:22Yeah.
00:31:23I'm still flailing him out a little bit.
00:31:24You know, it's just one of those like, uh, gut feelings.
00:31:26You see the Jersey, you see the number and you're like, yeah, who are you?
00:31:29Who are you again?
00:31:30You know, Hey.
00:31:31Can't argue with the gut.
00:31:32Don't get too comfortable.
00:31:33Keep your, keep your feet off my damn coffee table.
00:31:36Do it.
00:31:37It was a ghost.
00:31:38Uh, and then you get coils goal, which we talked about beautiful or I feed beautiful
00:31:42feed God.
00:31:43I, when he does it, he does it well.
00:31:45Doesn't he?
00:31:46Uh, power play.
00:31:47Look pretty good.
00:31:48Look pretty good.
00:31:49This game.
00:31:50We got two power play goals in one game.
00:31:53I didn't know we could do that.
00:31:54I don't think we've ever let you do that.
00:31:57And then they stopped and then they stopped, but we got out, but you know, Colorado had
00:32:01three.
00:32:02So what's the point?
00:32:03Who even cares?
00:32:04Life is meaningless.
00:32:05Uh, what else?
00:32:08Poster knock, you know, getting another one.
00:32:09So that's four goals in five games, 50 and 50 still possible.
00:32:13It takes one hat trick and you're up two games.
00:32:17How long it's impossible to get.
00:32:18He's on pace.
00:32:19Hey, you tell me, brother.
00:32:20Yeah.
00:32:21I want to see it.
00:32:30I think he's going to hit 50 this year and I, why not do it in 50 games?
00:32:34That'd be fun.
00:32:35I would.
00:32:36I would enjoy that.
00:32:37Uh, sure.
00:32:38I would enjoy it too.
00:32:39I just think it might be a little overzealous.
00:32:42Oh God.
00:32:43Yeah, absolutely.
00:32:44It's so greedy of me.
00:32:47Like I've already gotten so accustomed to him scoring 50 that I'm like, but how do we
00:32:51kick this up another notch?
00:32:53Yeah.
00:32:54How do we make this interesting?
00:32:55David, it's, did you see the video of him choosing which pasta he would be?
00:33:00I have it saved, but I haven't watched it yet.
00:33:02Is it good?
00:33:03It's good.
00:33:05It's good.
00:33:06You know what?
00:33:07It actually, I don't know why that this made me think of it.
00:33:10We just so quickly moved on from the toothpaste thing and we don't talk about it.
00:33:15No.
00:33:16I don't think people want to talk about it.
00:33:19That pasta in or Pasternak in Czech means toothpaste.
00:33:24No, I think it's just pasta.
00:33:26No, I think it's Pasternak.
00:33:27I think his name is David Toothpaste.
00:33:29I don't think.
00:33:30No, I think it's just his name.
00:33:31How do you say, it was the type, how do you say pasta and how do you say toothpaste in
00:33:39Czech?
00:33:40Standby.
00:33:41Zubny pasta.
00:33:42Yeah, it's toothpaste.
00:33:43Yeah.
00:33:44Pasta.
00:33:45It's pasta.
00:33:46Okay.
00:33:47Pasta.
00:33:48Zubny pasta.
00:33:49So we're calling it toothpaste.
00:33:50That's fine.
00:33:51Cause wasn't it him that said that?
00:33:52Yeah.
00:33:53He was like, yeah, by the way, you've been calling me toothpaste for eight years and
00:34:00we're like, yeah.
00:34:01How do you feel about the nickname pasta?
00:34:03And he's like, well, back home, it means toothpaste.
00:34:04So he's like, I don't care.
00:34:06Did you see the video of the release?
00:34:09It's like the NHL players saying how they say their own name, but it's like, or the
00:34:15Uko Pekelukene, which is one of the best things I've ever seen.
00:34:19And then Pasternak's like, he's like, he says his name like improper, you know, and he's
00:34:24like, but you know, here people call me David Pasternak, which is like, none of you are
00:34:30saying this correct, but it's fine.
00:34:32I'm not going to bother correcting you.
00:34:34It's like a lot of weird ones in there, Niko Heshear.
00:34:37Oh, that was the one I was going to bring up.
00:34:39I'm like, I, who knew that nobody, nobody, nobody go back and look at it.
00:34:46You think you have to bounce while you're saying, yeah, he looks so happy.
00:34:50How can I not?
00:34:51Uh, all right.
00:34:52There's a few things I want to talk about outside the game.
00:34:54So I want to get through the rest of this game.
00:34:56Well before we get, Oh, Oh, okay.
00:34:59Let me wrap up.
00:35:01Wrap it up.
00:35:02Uh, two goals in 13 seconds.
00:35:04That was cute.
00:35:05Lindy getting on the board right after setting up a Pasternak's goal in a meeting.
00:35:09It looked like it was redirected by Beecher, but they checked today and they attributed
00:35:14it to Hampus Lundholm.
00:35:16So that is what I want to see from Hampus.
00:35:18A lot of just like, fuck it, throw it at the net.
00:35:21See what happens.
00:35:22Like, uh, and it's working.
00:35:24Just keep doing it.
00:35:25Keep doing it.
00:35:26Keep scoring goals.
00:35:27Uh, and then you had, and then Beecher did get his goal with the empty netter because
00:35:31Nate Dog McKinnon let it roll off his stick and Beecher didn't even handle it.
00:35:36Like, it was like it rolled towards him and he just one-timed it from center ice into
00:35:40the net.
00:35:41Uh, at which point it was glaringly obvious just how well we Bruins fans travel because
00:35:47that building erupted in the empty net, which by the way, in Colorado, do you see any of
00:35:53the videos from the stance?
00:35:54Oh, it's so good.
00:35:55It looked like the bowl.
00:35:57It looks like the balcony at the garden.
00:35:58Yeah.
00:35:59Like that is what, 1,700 miles from Boston.
00:36:04It ain't close.
00:36:05I would imagine maybe more because what, LA is 3,000 miles, right?
00:36:09Yup.
00:36:10So what, Denver's yeah, it's gotta be 2,000 miles.
00:36:14No not flights.
00:36:15Yeah.
00:36:16I had a friend in attendance and even before the game, he's like, there's a lot of Bruins
00:36:18services here.
00:36:19I'm like, yeah.
00:36:20Like we were Bruins fans are everywhere.
00:36:23Yeah.
00:36:24Uh, it is just under 2,000 miles.
00:36:27Come on.
00:36:28Who nailed it?
00:36:29You nailed it.
00:36:30You did.
00:36:31I said 1,700, maybe 2,000.
00:36:33Split the difference.
00:36:34Call it 1,970.
00:36:35Come on.
00:36:36Uh, yeah, but that just about did it.
00:36:39Um, again, like some good saves from Corpo Salo at the end, but if you're gonna make
00:36:44me, pardon me, watch a game that ends after midnight, you better fucking win it.
00:36:50And I don't know if you remember last season that kept fucking losing all of the West Coast
00:36:54games.
00:36:55So I had to stay up to one and watch you lose.
00:37:03So yeah, I mean, let's one, not break the overtime loss record.
00:37:07Not even try.
00:37:08We're on pace to have zero of those.
00:37:10So let's keep that up.
00:37:13And uh, yeah, no, I just, uh, if again, if you're gonna make me watch it, I'll let you
00:37:16better fucking win.
00:37:17But they did.
00:37:18So it's fine.
00:37:19Do we want to sneak in a nap break?
00:37:20Do we want to?
00:37:21I do.
00:37:22I do.
00:37:24We have a, we have a big thing.
00:37:25We got to talk about.
00:37:26We got a big old thing.
00:37:27We got a big old, we got a big old thing we're going to talk about.
00:37:33Here's game time.
00:37:34There's nothing like seeing a game live.
00:37:35I mean, watching it on TV is great.
00:37:37We have all the technology.
00:37:38We have our phones.
00:37:39We have access to everything.
00:37:40But being there in person, it's definitely the way to go.
00:37:44Game time has a new feature called game time picks that makes getting tickets to see your
00:37:47favorite teams play live even easier.
00:37:50Game time filters out the fluff to show you only incredible deals on great seats.
00:37:55Take the guesswork out of buying tickets with game time.
00:37:58Download the game time app, create an account, use code CLNS for $20 off your first purchase.
00:38:04Terms apply.
00:38:05Again, create an account and redeem code CLNS for $20 off.
00:38:10Download game time today.
00:38:11What time is it?
00:38:12It's game time.
00:38:13Finally, the Bruins got a new Jersey.
00:38:16It is about time.
00:38:18It has been what, nine months?
00:38:22Four months since their last new Jersey.
00:38:24We've only gotten six new ones in the past three years, two years.
00:38:28Oh, I feel good.
00:38:32I would like to be mean for a moment.
00:38:35Oh, to me?
00:38:36No.
00:38:37Well, yes, but not directly.
00:38:42I'm talking to you, Bruins fans.
00:38:44I'm talking to you, Bruins fans on Twitter saying, they think we're going to spend $600
00:38:52on a Jersey.
00:38:53We get a new Jersey every four months.
00:38:54How have you not figured out the pricing yet?
00:38:56It is $260 for a Jersey with a name on it.
00:39:00It is $600 for the collector authentic, much more like what they actually wear on the ice
00:39:05Jersey that you never have to worry about because I don't know people who will spend
00:39:11$600 on a Jersey.
00:39:12We shouldn't know these people.
00:39:14No, catch up.
00:39:15I don't think that's a price just for this Jersey.
00:39:18I think that's just a price for all of, like you said, all of every authentic pro.
00:39:23Yeah, whatever I think Fanatics rebranded authentic as premium or maybe the other way
00:39:28around.
00:39:29It's like, I think it's replica pro or pro authentic or something like that.
00:39:32Yeah.
00:39:33And like, I recognize that $260 is still quite a lot of fucking money for an article of any
00:39:39clothing, but critical thinking here.
00:39:43Folks, do you really think that the boss and ruins are going to start selling their
00:39:47default jerseys at $600 a piece?
00:39:51They will not because no one would buy them.
00:39:54I mean, nobody's buying them at two.
00:39:56It's just driving me a little crazy.
00:39:57It's like there's plenty of people being like, no, don't worry, it's not 600.
00:40:01It's only 260.
00:40:02But everybody just, like, jumped off immediately.
00:40:05They're like, what the fuck?
00:40:07Like, no, that's not it's obviously not what is happening.
00:40:11OK, all right.
00:40:12Well, in case you didn't know, in case you didn't know, I said mean it was informative
00:40:16and mean, a little mean.
00:40:18You got me going.
00:40:19I like when you're mean.
00:40:22Stop it.
00:40:23How did you see the reveal video for the jersey?
00:40:27So what?
00:40:27At Matthews Arena?
00:40:29Can we talk about how I would love to talk about a lean that transition is?
00:40:35It's astounding.
00:40:37I watched it 30 times.
00:40:40I cannot find a frame where it switches from video to video.
00:40:45It is perfect.
00:40:47It is like it is suspicious.
00:40:49It's one of those things like it happens to me watching movies.
00:40:53I imagine it happens to a lot of folks.
00:40:55I think more so if you've like made movies or like, you know, studied movies.
00:41:00But like there are moments that are so technologically good
00:41:04that they pull you out of the movie where you're like, wait, that was cool.
00:41:07But how did how did you do that?
00:41:09Like the mirror shot from contact, kind of from what contact?
00:41:14I haven't seen contact.
00:41:16Oh, do I have a clip for you, my friend?
00:41:18Send me a clip.
00:41:20Yeah, but there is.
00:41:21I mean, fucking I don't know, Birdman, any one take or something like that,
00:41:25you know, that just makes you go like, wow, how did they get this shot?
00:41:28How do they whiplash the car crash shot?
00:41:31How did they do that?
00:41:32Yeah, this was like that.
00:41:34This was their whiplash car crash shot.
00:41:36Yeah, I was like, how did they do it?
00:41:37Anyway, that's not what's important at all.
00:41:39Also, if you have no idea, video cool.
00:41:42Yeah, very much so.
00:41:43I love the sweatshirt Marsha is wearing, too.
00:41:45I want the hoodie. I want that.
00:41:47Oh, I want that more than I think I want the jersey.
00:41:49And I really want the jersey.
00:41:50The sweatshirt is really sweet, really.
00:41:53And it's being at Matthews Arena is really cool.
00:41:55And if you didn't know, that is where the game 100 years ago was played.
00:41:59My uncle a week ago actually said he was like,
00:42:02it would be cool if they played the game at Matthews.
00:42:04And I was like, I don't think they can play an NHL game at Matthews Arena.
00:42:07They can't do that at all.
00:42:08Twenty twenty four the year of our Lord.
00:42:10But it was very cool.
00:42:11They acknowledged it and they shot that video there.
00:42:13But also they kind of shot it at the garden
00:42:15because like that transition thing is like on the garden ice. Yeah.
00:42:19Also, if you don't know what I'm talking about, the video,
00:42:21the transition we're talking about is they show Marcia
00:42:23and skating around on the ice in like a hoodie.
00:42:25And he does like the hockey stop it like with the snow going up.
00:42:28And as the snow like covers him and it goes down,
00:42:31all of a sudden he's wearing the Bruins, a new kit.
00:42:35Joe, what is your immediate reaction to the kit?
00:42:39I think we kind of knew we've talked about it before
00:42:43and like other people have talked for the past like a year or two
00:42:46and like have told us like that they're going for like this 80s revival.
00:42:52Yeah, we've been hearing that for quite a while, actually.
00:42:54I think, yeah, coming on three years now.
00:42:56I feel like we've been hearing about it loosely.
00:42:58Yeah, I think I think the plan was like, sorry, that's
00:43:03we've been on the show in a while.
00:43:05Hello. Don't don't mind him. OK.
00:43:07Uh, the they're the original talk was like after the centennial jersey,
00:43:12they're going to make this like 80s revival thing.
00:43:15And when that didn't happen, it didn't really cross my mind
00:43:17that the centennial jersey would be that.
00:43:21And the rumor now is that like this is going to be their full time kit.
00:43:26But anyway, my reaction when I saw it was like, oh, there's the 80s thing.
00:43:31Like, there it is. Yeah. You know?
00:43:33Um, and I think like the finer details of it are fine.
00:43:37I think they're good. I think they're really, really good.
00:43:40I think there's nothing like you can analyze and be like, oh,
00:43:42maybe I would have put a band here.
00:43:43Maybe this is that.
00:43:44But there's nothing at a glance that I'm like, oh, that looks wrong.
00:43:48Or like I would. Oh, that that kind of I I'll never like a patch on the chest.
00:43:53So like the the centennial being where it is kind of ugly,
00:43:59because then you start to think like, OK, so someone like Marshy.
00:44:04Who has a C on his chest,
00:44:06and they have to fit the C and they have to fit the patch
00:44:09and they have to fit the logo and then they have to fit the ad.
00:44:13So where it starts to get a little crowded on the front of a jersey,
00:44:17and I don't really love that.
00:44:19I think they could put more ads on it.
00:44:21I think they should have. That's my one on.
00:44:24More right across the gut.
00:44:27Qatar Airways on the spoke to be in the in the negative white space.
00:44:31Whoa. Think of all the ads you could put in between there.
00:44:34You listening, Jacobs?
00:44:36Chase Bank, Chase Bank, Chase Bank.
00:44:40Yeah, no, I agree.
00:44:41I think any actual gripes I have with it would kind of just be nitpicking.
00:44:46The only one that comes to mind is I wish.
00:44:48Well, I'm so glad the Gold Sox are back, but I wish they were like solid gold,
00:44:52not like the white and gold two tone.
00:44:54But again, it's so minor.
00:44:56Like it's not like it's not pulling me out of my enjoyment of this New Jersey.
00:45:01I wish there was another way of saying New Jersey without saying New Jersey
00:45:04because I don't like saying New Jersey sweater.
00:45:07New sweater. There we go.
00:45:09The worst state in the nation. New sweater.
00:45:12Yeah, I'm a big fan.
00:45:14I they teased it yesterday.
00:45:16And even from the teeth, I think there was like a couple of leaks
00:45:19in the last couple of weeks.
00:45:21People are like, I think this is what it looks like.
00:45:22And the leaks were pretty spot on.
00:45:25Big fan. Honestly, the reaction from fans around the league are like,
00:45:30this might be like the best Bruins jersey ever.
00:45:33Don't know. I agree with it.
00:45:34But to even have that conversation started says a lot about the quality
00:45:38of the jersey, I think.
00:45:39And like you said, I've heard that not only are they wearing it
00:45:42for the Centennial game on December 1st, but this will just be their third
00:45:46jerseys this year and then that next year they will become the primary jerseys.
00:45:53They haven't confirmed that.
00:45:54To be clear, this is not confirmed.
00:45:56This is not confirmed.
00:45:57But people that we I we trust in people
00:46:01that I really don't think would go on the Internet and tell lies for no reason.
00:46:06They they seem to believe that is what's going on,
00:46:08that that's what they're hearing,
00:46:09which also to me implies that there will be an away version of that as well,
00:46:14which that's going to look fucking good.
00:46:16I think that can be really good.
00:46:18That's going to be really good.
00:46:19And it also implies that the primary logo will then change.
00:46:24And it also implies there will be a new third next season.
00:46:29That's a lot.
00:46:30OK, now we're
00:46:32when you think about it, when you know, you know, you know, it's in a line.
00:46:36You don't really need a third jersey.
00:46:38Does the NHL require teams to have a third jersey?
00:46:41No, I don't think so.
00:46:43The San Jose Sharks, they do.
00:46:46I don't know who doesn't have a third jersey.
00:46:48I don't know. I don't pay attention to people.
00:46:49The Blackhawks don't know.
00:46:51They they certainly have in the I don't think they have an active third.
00:46:54I don't know. It changes all the time.
00:46:55It's like if you're like in the heritage class, you're a winner classic.
00:46:57I think you just wear that.
00:46:59Sure. Then there's the reverse retros or whatever.
00:47:01But yeah, no first impression. Love it.
00:47:04I as always, you need to wait to see it on the ice.
00:47:08You need to wait to see it in the middle of a broadcast.
00:47:11And I think they're going to look fucking great on TV and in person.
00:47:16I think they're they're going to look pretty special.
00:47:18I'm very excited.
00:47:19I have a hard time believing they won't look great.
00:47:22That's a good way of putting it.
00:47:24What did I?
00:47:25All right.
00:47:25I'm going to go back to the game for a moment because I missed a few things.
00:47:29The Martian embellishment, you know what I'm talking about?
00:47:33Yeah. What do you think?
00:47:34What do you think about it?
00:47:37You know,
00:47:39you never know.
00:47:41You never know when guys have, you know, the butt of their stick
00:47:44digging into your side.
00:47:47You never know.
00:47:49Sometimes you just get, you know, you get spooked a little bit
00:47:51and you lose your balance.
00:47:54People forget you're standing on ice.
00:47:56You know, it's quite slippery.
00:47:58It is very slippery and you're wearing knives on your feet.
00:48:00So what a sport this is.
00:48:04All sorts of reasons that you could go down
00:48:07in that situation.
00:48:08So I wouldn't call it an embellishment if that's what you're calling it.
00:48:12TNT did, Joe.
00:48:14And who are we to question them?
00:48:16Right, right, right.
00:48:18Yeah, I mean, I, I clipped it and I zoomed in
00:48:22and I slowed it down like 10% speed.
00:48:25And it's if anything, I think it's like his elbow
00:48:29that if if anything did catch him in the head, I think it's his elbow.
00:48:33But it's so hard to tell.
00:48:35And like the speeds of everything don't really matter.
00:48:38And like, yeah, like talk about taking the glasses off for a moment.
00:48:42Like Brad embellishes kind of a lot like he leads the team
00:48:46and penalties drawn every year.
00:48:48And you don't do that just by getting targeted.
00:48:50You do that by drawing some calls and embellishing a few, which I don't.
00:48:54It doesn't bother me like that.
00:48:55It's part of the game.
00:48:57And it worked.
00:48:58He got the interference call.
00:49:01So I'm kind of hung up on like, I don't know, but I also don't really care.
00:49:07It's also kind of just like a nothing burger already.
00:49:09Like, it's not like a conversation that's going to last very long
00:49:12if it is even still going on beyond this right now.
00:49:15It's also like, oh, it's fucking, oh, oh, no.
00:49:18Brad, you know what I mean?
00:49:19Yeah, I don't know. He's fine.
00:49:21If your son who like has gotten arrested.
00:49:25Also gets detention.
00:49:28You're not like you got detention, too.
00:49:30You're like, OK, well, you know, you're not in jail.
00:49:32Yeah. Yeah, it's Brad.
00:49:34He's not getting suspended over that embellishment.
00:49:36And I'll put it that way. He's alive.
00:49:38God, he survived it.
00:49:39Yeah, he did get fucking body slammed at one point.
00:49:44Oh, my God.
00:49:45That was like two hits.
00:49:47He got hit in the glass and then like it looked like he got suplexed.
00:49:51Like it. He got dropped.
00:49:53And, you know, he missed a good part of the second period
00:49:56and then didn't come out for the start of the third ultimately did come out.
00:50:00But I when they were it was kind of funny because they were like,
00:50:03he embellished, but also like, where's Brad?
00:50:05And it's like maybe his head hurts.
00:50:08I don't know.
00:50:09Yeah, maybe his whole body hurts.
00:50:10Maybe he's a hockey player and he's fine.
00:50:14But yeah, no, I just want to bring that up.
00:50:15I also I do want to talk about my pride and joy.
00:50:19Matthew Patra, please do
00:50:23not as bad as the last game, his performance.
00:50:27But he's still fighting it.
00:50:28He's still fighting it right now.
00:50:29I think it's more mental than anything.
00:50:31He got lit up again.
00:50:33Zador have stepped in on his behalf, which is thank you.
00:50:36Or very cool.
00:50:39I don't
00:50:41or Zdorov would like to have that fight back.
00:50:44Oh, God. Yeah, absolutely.
00:50:45Yes, there's a kid's first NHL game,
00:50:49which you don't and you take on Nikita Zdorov.
00:50:52I'll give you your flowers.
00:50:53That's pretty good.
00:50:56I can't help but think of David Creech
00:51:00and how he was saddled with like
00:51:04not very good wingers for a large part of his career.
00:51:08Yeah. And was with the expectation of we needed to elevate their game.
00:51:12They needed they need to jump. Why don't you do it?
00:51:15And I'm getting so far ahead of myself here with this comparison.
00:51:19But when I see Matthew Patra playing alongside Riley Tufte and Max Jones,
00:51:23I'm like, what are we doing here?
00:51:24You're just burying all three of them.
00:51:27And it's not a coincidence that you saw
00:51:31multiple dominance shifts
00:51:34from the first, second and fourth lines that game, but not from the third line.
00:51:40I would rather it be.
00:51:44I don't know how you'd want to order this, but geeky Patra and Braz,
00:51:48any combination would I would prefer over Tufte and Jones.
00:51:53I don't want Tufte on this team.
00:51:55I really don't.
00:51:56I haven't felt this strongly about not wanting someone on the Bruins
00:51:59since like fucking Nick Ryan Spooner.
00:52:02I know I like Spooner. I like Spooner.
00:52:03Nick Ritchie was like, I was like, you're worse.
00:52:06I would rather be down a man than have you out there.
00:52:11You're not quite there with Tufte, though, right?
00:52:12I'm not. But like, he's just not good.
00:52:15He gave away the puck behind the net and then immediately took a really
00:52:18fucking stupid cross check penalty, which they scored on
00:52:22on the ensuing power play to make it a one goal game.
00:52:25I'm like, I can't imagine.
00:52:27I mean, I can because money is such a wild card.
00:52:29A scenario where like he's like kept in the lineup for the game tomorrow.
00:52:33Almost about half as many minutes in the penalty box as on the ice.
00:52:39He had about seven minutes on the ice to in the penalty box,
00:52:42which is not really half, but I embellished two sevens.
00:52:46Also, Nikita Zdorov has taken a penalty every single game so far this season.
00:52:50So that's fun.
00:52:52This was part of the scouting report is that he does have penalty trouble,
00:52:55which I guess we're seeing a lot of it's kind of stupid.
00:52:59But what are you going to do?
00:53:01But yeah, no, I would love for Pacher to start really cooking,
00:53:05and he will not do that if his sous chefs are Tufte and Jones, please.
00:53:11I want him to get reps on the first line.
00:53:13The lines are so dynamic. Throw him up there. He'll be fine.
00:53:18Yeah, that's what I want.
00:53:20Maybe he just needs an amulet.
00:53:22Maybe that's all he needs and then he'll be fine.
00:53:26We got to talk about that.
00:53:27We got to talk about goose.
00:53:29Goose wants to talk about it.
00:53:30Goose needs to talk about it.
00:53:31John Tavares wears an amulet that protects him from Wi-Fi.
00:53:34He sells it. He sells it.
00:53:37It's Russell Brands, though.
00:53:38So was he, like, endorsing it or is he like, I thought he was endorsing it.
00:53:43You told me he's selling it.
00:53:44Oh, I don't know what I'm talking about. Don't listen to me.
00:53:47That's why I said to you, I'm like, he's selling it.
00:53:49I thought he was wearing it. You're like, no, you know, it's a Russell brand
00:53:53branded.
00:53:54That's a annoying thing to say.
00:53:56Magical amulet would protect you from electromagnetic radiation.
00:54:01Yeah. So and yeah, I don't know if you saw the video of Russell
00:54:05Brand talking about it, but he was listening to him talk.
00:54:08He said, I won't do the accent.
00:54:10I'll spare you.
00:54:11But he said all sorts of the various waves that are in the air.
00:54:17Yeah. Oh, shit.
00:54:18This. Oh, I didn't realize this was backed by science, dude.
00:54:21OK, good.
00:54:23This is a man who knows what he's talking about.
00:54:25Oh, all the various waves.
00:54:29Aren't you tired of getting radio waves in your food?
00:54:35This 5G tastes funny.
00:54:39But I saw somebody do a deep dive on it.
00:54:42And like, they're basically just resin, like they're like, you know,
00:54:44like like polyurethane resin.
00:54:46That's like that's all they ever fucking are.
00:54:48Nothing. It's just it's polyurethane painted.
00:54:51With a cool design.
00:54:53And they sell all sorts of other things that are not amulets.
00:54:56They sell one that you can put in your living room
00:54:58that keeps all your you know, you don't want to get your Wi-Fi in your brain.
00:55:03So you can put one on your table.
00:55:05It's like $400 and it sits there.
00:55:09You know, can you also use the Wi-Fi
00:55:12while you're in the room with this thing?
00:55:14Yes, you can go to blocking Wi-Fi.
00:55:16Is it just like a Faraday cage kind of, you know, it doesn't do anything, man.
00:55:20It's polyurethane.
00:55:22I would like start building Faraday cages for celebrities.
00:55:25Be like, this actually does protect you from 5G and Wi-Fi.
00:55:28Nothing's getting in here.
00:55:29Try and use your phone here. You can't.
00:55:31I should make money. I don't know.
00:55:34I feel like I'm saying this because if you're listening to this,
00:55:37you're probably listening on a phone or some other device,
00:55:40maybe watching on your computer, maybe watching on your television.
00:55:43So you're probably not afraid of technology.
00:55:46You should. But if you but if you if you are.
00:55:51Abandoned society, brother.
00:55:53Go live in the go, go like Ruby Ridge style off the grid.
00:55:57Like, just try it. Try it.
00:55:59You're mostly plastic at this point.
00:56:00Anyways, it doesn't matter.
00:56:03What? What?
00:56:04I just say, like, you are worried about waves.
00:56:06Oh, yeah, we all are.
00:56:07Microplastics, plastics are everywhere.
00:56:10Yeah, they're in you.
00:56:11So get out while you can.
00:56:13Abandon ship and go live that way.
00:56:17It made me I saw I saw.
00:56:19First of all, a lot of good,
00:56:20a lot of good memes on the Internet, hockey, hockey, Twitter's doing their thing.
00:56:24But one that got me was so stupid.
00:56:28It was like the clip of Tavares, like handing off the sea to Matthews.
00:56:34Somebody saying like they they convinced them to whatever
00:56:37because they told me I stood for amulet and was like,
00:56:42oh, that's good. I like that. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:56:45No, it's it's all or just like Tavares.
00:56:47Like when that came out, he was a scratch that night.
00:56:49People like upper body injury, broken amulet. Yeah, yeah.
00:56:53Yeah. All right.
00:56:54See, Patrick Brown, named captain of the Providence Bruins.
00:56:57Congratulations. Congratulations.
00:57:00Hang out down there for a while, please.
00:57:01Have fun. I do like Brown.
00:57:03I like Patrick Brown and to close out.
00:57:06Oh, that's interesting.
00:57:09Some really good face off numbers against Colorado.
00:57:12You got Elias Lindholm, who went 10 for 13.
00:57:16Matt Potra going six for seven.
00:57:18Castile going six for eight and coil a respectable nine for 15.
00:57:25Good stuff.
00:57:26Love seeing that for Patrick, because I think when you talk about him
00:57:29putting on weight, I think a lot of that should and can translate
00:57:32into being better at the dot and putting more weight on the stick
00:57:35and just being a bit more assertive at some point in his career.
00:57:38He is going to crush someone in an open.
00:57:40I said, because it's statistically everybody will do that at some point.
00:57:45And I that that will be the day I become a man, I think.
00:57:48I think that's when it's all going to start making sense for me.
00:57:52And he, Matt Potra, has not scored a goal at TD Garden.
00:57:57It feels like he only has five in his career, right?
00:58:00Correct. Yeah.
00:58:01It feels like it's part of my destiny to be there when that happens.
00:58:04But at the same time, I don't think I will be.
00:58:06But I wish him the best.
00:58:08I got to stop putting money on him to score every game.
00:58:10I'm I'm deeply in the red at this point.
00:58:12So my over needs to be much more.
00:58:16Or you got to keep doubling how much you put on.
00:58:18That is also part of it.
00:58:22I think that's mostly everything I got.
00:58:25Yeah, no, but it was a good win.
00:58:28Had some really, really, really good moments.
00:58:30Colorado definitely woke up in the second half of the game
00:58:32and then it kind of evened out.
00:58:35But man, is it fun watching the Bruins just like walk all over a team?
00:58:40Yeah. And we're playing Utah tomorrow.
00:58:42I'm excited for that.
00:58:43Utah is a very good team.
00:58:44Really good young team.
00:58:46I think it'll be a good challenge for the Bruins right now.
00:58:51So I'm excited to see
00:58:55a stadium full,
00:58:56a an arena full of just Bruins fans, because that's what it's like.
00:59:00Oh, God, it really will be.
00:59:01It is going to be just an away home game.
00:59:04All three of these games, maybe not so much a national
00:59:06because they really do have quite a quite a short.
00:59:08Yeah. And like Colorado, it's early.
00:59:10They're struggling.
00:59:11People love traveling.
00:59:12People have like a reason that they want to go to Denver.
00:59:14But like Utah.
00:59:18They don't have fans yet.
00:59:20They've played a game.
00:59:21There are two games, a game.
00:59:23They don't have fans there yet.
00:59:25So I would imagine Boston is going to absolutely flood the place.
00:59:31Probably, you know, Nashville doesn't have a win yet either.
00:59:36Really? Yeah.
00:59:37They're number 31 in the league right now.
00:59:39Oh, and better for hockey when the Preds are good.
00:59:42It is. I like the Preds.
00:59:43I have no problem with the Preds.
00:59:45It's I always think back.
00:59:48I think 2016 Western Conference Final Preds and Sharks.
00:59:52Yeah, awesome.
00:59:54Tennessee versus California and everyone cared.
00:59:57That was awesome.
00:59:58That was actually the year I was like, OK, I really it was like, OK,
01:00:01they have an actual fan base.
01:00:02Like they really like that place gets fucking loud.
01:00:06Like that's when like Smashville was coined and like the car.
01:00:10Yeah, I'd love to get in there.
01:00:12Mm hmm. Yeah, yeah.
01:00:13Colorado being number 32 in the league at oh four and oh
01:00:17and a minus 12 goal differential is I don't think anybody expected that.
01:00:21And then Edmonton being 30, they're one, three and oh,
01:00:24which is like so good for me because like every single expert was like
01:00:30my pick for the Stanley Cup is the Edmonton Oilers.
01:00:33And it's like, you know, it's four games and they can turn it around.
01:00:36But sure, yeah.
01:00:38Showing fraud. Fuck yeah.
01:00:39Lose. Keep losing.
01:00:40I don't want you to win.
01:00:41Tired of you.
01:00:42Get out. Get out of here.
01:00:44Yeah, Edmonton.
01:00:45They've won too many Stanley Cups for you.
01:00:47Yeah. Stop it.
01:00:49Too many of my lifetime.
01:00:51But the top five teams right now in the league are the Calgary Flames,
01:00:54the Dallas Stars, the New Jersey Devils, Utah Hockey Club and the Winnipeg Jets.
01:00:59What? I'm sure that'll stay that way.
01:01:01That is wild.
01:01:03I don't like it.
01:01:05Yeah, it's all topsy turvy right now.
01:01:07That's pretty crazy.
01:01:09But yeah, no, but again, I'm very much looking forward to seeing Utah.
01:01:11Utah was a three one in one record, but they're fun to watch.
01:01:16And like I said,
01:01:19should be a good matchup.
01:01:20I'm looking forward to it.
01:01:21Absolutely. Absolutely. Absolutely.
01:01:24Well, follow along with us.
01:01:25We'll be posting stuff, not from the game, but about the game.
01:01:30And we'll be back here
01:01:32Sunday after. Yeah.
01:01:36A pair of thrilling after the Utah game and who's the Saturday game?
01:01:41Shit, the game isn't even tomorrow.
01:01:42What am I talking about?
01:01:43Yeah, the game is Saturday.
01:01:44It's just Utah.
01:01:46That's my best Utah. Just Utah.
01:01:47And then I believe Nashville.
01:01:48Well, actually, you're probably listening to this on Friday.
01:01:50So it is. It is tomorrow.
01:01:52I stand by what is done.
01:01:54And then the National is Tuesday.
01:01:56OK, so we got a couple of couple. Yeah.
01:01:58So we'll be here to talk about the Utah game.
01:02:00OK, perfect. Awesome.
01:02:01And maybe whatever else comes in between now and then could be anything.
01:02:06Follow us. Follow along.
01:02:07Follow on the socials at bear with me underscore pod.
01:02:09You can follow me at Joy Capone.
