00:00Hello there. Welcome to your week ahead forecast where I bring some good news for many parts
00:06of the UK. High pressure is building in, settling the weather down. We've had some heavy showers
00:12though through Bank Holiday Monday. However, high pressure is starting to build in, pushing
00:18away the areas of low pressure and it will gradually become drier and warmer over the
00:23coming week as well. So let's look at the details for Tuesday. A murky start in places.
00:30Some low cloud, mist and fog, but largely dry. Perhaps some light rain and drizzle in
00:35any thicker cloud. Northern England, parts of Scotland. But as we move through the day
00:39on Tuesday, we will see the skies bright and there will be some sunny spells though you
00:43can see there is quite a lot of cloud around. Best of the sunshine across southern parts
00:48of England and Wales. In the warmth of the day, this could trigger one or two heavy showers.
00:53But the vast majority is staying dry. It will be cooler under the cloud further north
00:57and west, 13 to 16 Celsius. But in the best of the sunshine, particularly across central
01:02southern parts of England, 19 or 20 degrees is quite possible. And in that sunshine, pollen
01:09levels will start to rise. Much of central southern parts of England and Wales, high
01:14pollen counts here. Largely trees still, but grass starting to make an appearance. Low
01:19to moderate levels across the rest of the UK. Looking at the pressure pattern into Wednesday,
01:26high pressure dominating. Light winds mean some low cloud, mist and fog developing overnight.
01:32Weather systems trying to come into the far northwest, which will introduce the risk of
01:36some rain into parts of Northern Ireland, northwest Scotland as we move through Wednesday.
01:41But a murky start, the low cloud, mist and fog lifting and breaking. Then plenty of sunny
01:46spells developing, though some medium level cloud, some high level cloud making the sunshine
01:52hazy at times. And the further south and east you are, the best of the blue skies will be.
01:57Rain continuing across the northwest here, temperatures 12 to 14 Celsius, turning quite
02:01breezy too. But for the vast majority of us, it will be dry. One or two showers perhaps
02:06possible into the afternoon across northern England, into the Midlands and parts of Wales.
02:11And again, in the best of the sunshine, high teens to low 20s for maximum temperatures.
02:17As we head into Thursday, low pressure close by to the northwest, which means weather fronts
02:23just still bringing the risk of some rain here. But for the vast majority of us, high
02:27pressure keeping it settled. So a damp start across Scotland, outbreaks of rain pushing
02:33its way north and eastwards. But it does start to brighten up as we move through the day
02:37in places here. For the vast majority of the UK, after a murky start once more, it
02:42will be dry and bright with sunny spells. The risk of the odd shower, but most places
02:47dry through this whole week. The risk of some low cloud and mist and fog lingering around
02:54some coastal areas. This is possible also on Thursday. But in the sunshine, inland areas
02:59reaching 22, possibly 23 Celsius, a little cooler around the coast where we keep the
03:04low cloud and also if you are under the cloud cover for much of the day. In terms of UV,
03:10in the sunshine, getting to high level 6 for many central and southern parts, further north
03:15around 4 or 5 for the UV level, which is moderate. As we head towards the end of the week, high
03:22pressure holds on further. Weather fronts generally staying away from the UK. So another
03:28settled day into Friday. Again, mist and fog patches to start the day, these lifting and
03:33breaking for many, perhaps just retreating to some coastal stretches. And then Friday,
03:38plenty of hazy sunshine, dry weather to come. Just again, the afternoon shower is possible
03:43through the spine of the country. Temperatures again, 22, possibly 23 Celsius. The average
03:48in the south this time of the year should be around 17 degrees. So above average for
03:53many of us. Even further north, temperatures rising close to 20 Celsius as a sunnier day
03:59is expected on Friday for parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland too. In terms of pollen
04:05levels, with more sunshine around, they continue to rise further. Moderate to high for many
04:09of us and grass pollen becoming more dominant across southern parts of England and Wales.
04:16Then to end the working week and into the weekend, we see low pressure systems trying
04:21to move into the northwest. High pressure just about holding on. That helps draw in
04:25some warmer air so temperatures could rise a little further into the weekend, 24 or 25
04:31Celsius for some of us, but plenty of dry weather just about holding on. So high pressure
04:37finally arriving for much of the UK, bringing in plenty of dry, settled weather, some sunny
04:42spells. The main risk being some dense fog patches overnight, slow to clear first thing
04:47in the mornings and some risk of some rain across northern parts of Scotland at times
04:52too. If you'd like more information on the weather where you are for this coming week,
