00:00You think Doug Peterson will be in London next week still?
00:07Let me put it to you this way, Kevin.
00:09Sean Conley on our set in the spring, he was on the record saying it, it surprised me that
00:13he would go out and say this.
00:14He said, the coaches have to do a better job of developing their players.
00:17That put the pressure on the coaching staff.
00:19The team is going to fall now to one in five.
00:21Okay.
00:22One of the bottom three teams in the National Football League.
00:25You know how this works.
00:26He's on the hot seat.
00:28As you said, they're in London, and by the way, Sean Conley has a house there.
00:31He has a soccer team there.
00:32He lives there quite a bit.
00:35We've never seen that before, by the way, a coach relieved of his duties in London,
00:39but this has been an absolute disaster, and I can tell you, they expect to make the playoffs
00:42this year.
00:43They're not making the playoffs.
00:44This team is underachieved.
00:45Let's call it like it is, Kevin.
00:48When you underachieve, it's never good for job security, but we'll see what happens.
00:51Also, from an offensive perspective too, Cappy, take a look at the Jacksonville Jaguars, and
00:55it's one thing if the defense has given up 45 a week.
00:57The offense, specifically today, turning the football over.
01:00They just look disastrous, so we'll see what happens, but let's keep it in the head coaching
01:03field because one head coach did lose his job this week, and that was Robert Sala of
01:07the New York Jets.
01:08Jeff Albrecht takes over, so two things here.
01:10The move for you, did it make sense, and also, what is the chance of an interim coach becoming
01:15the head coach if things work out this season?
01:17Donny, good question.
01:18Look, when the news broke, I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
01:23No one's expecting this, and I checked in with the coaches.
01:26They weren't expecting it.
01:27The owner, Woody Johnson, does a lot of things on his own.
01:31He has opinions, and he doesn't share them usually, from what I'm told, so he made that
01:35move, but this is why I think it actually made sense.
01:38Another coach gave this to me from another team, and he made a very good point when it
01:41comes to Jeff Albrecht.
01:42If you're going to do it, you don't do it when there are like two or three weeks left.
01:46It's not enough time to get an evaluation of an interim head coach.
01:50You're giving Jeff Albrecht, Donny, the majority of the season to get this thing the right
01:55way.
01:56Now, if they win Monday night, they technically have a lead.
01:59They have the tiebreaker, the first one, which is head-to-head over the Bills.
02:02Of course, they play week 17.
02:04We'll see if that would actually matter by then, but look, it is early.
02:08I know it shocked a lot of people, seemingly came out of nowhere, but they're another team
02:12that overachieved, excuse me, underachieved.
02:13In fact, Woody Johnson said that to the media this week.
02:15They have high expectations.
02:17Everyone around the Jets that I've spoken with, I was with the team when they had a
02:21joint practice with the Giants.
02:22They clearly said playoffs are not only on their mind, they're expecting it, and there's
02:25a lot of season left, and they still have a good chance to do it, but they've underachieved
02:29so far.
02:30It's not their defense.
02:31It's their passing game, obviously, and the running game under Brie Saul.
02:34I'm interested to see what Todd Dowden, the new offensive coordinator, who actually has
02:38the same title, passing game coordinator slash quarterbacks coach, but he's going to call
02:41the plays.
02:42He's called a running game before.
02:43He coached Derrick Henry for two years and also coached under Jack Del Rio with the Raiders
02:48where they really wanted to run the football.
02:52So, I'm interested to see what Todd Dowden has to say about that.
02:53We'll see.
02:54We'll see.
02:55We'll see.
