00:00He gets there with Sean Payton, Sean Payton's like, yo, you need to do it this way.
00:06He doesn't want to do it.
00:07They jettison him out of there.
00:09Now he's in Pittsburgh.
00:11And from what we've seen, very, very small sample size, it looks like he sucks.
00:15Yeah.
00:16Right.
00:17And, and, and listen in Pittsburgh, you know, they were looking for a veteran quarterback
00:20leader.
00:21Correct.
00:22And, and Mike Tomlin anointed Russell Wilson, the starter from the very beginning.
00:27And then they got Justin Fields and still didn't say, Hey, it's an open competition.
00:31Even though Russell Wilson was making nothing veteran minimum, because all of his money
00:36was being paid by the Broncos.
00:38So for the Steelers, it was a very low risk, very high reward opportunity.
00:43But the low risk is now looking like low reward.
00:47And I'm still of the opinion that if Russell Wilson is not the starter, he is not backup
00:51quarterback mentality material.
00:53And to me, I'm not, I'm not even sure that he's a locker room cancer, but I just think
00:58that he would mope around forever and not be a good backup.
01:04Like like Joe Flacco is going to be the backup in Indianapolis for however long that lasts.
01:10But Joe Flacco has been a backup quarterback now for like four seasons or so.
01:15So he'll come in and he'll play for you when you ask him to, but he'll also be a good veteran
01:19coaching backup kind of guy.
01:21I don't know that Russell Wilson's got that personality.
01:24Can I ask you guys a question?
01:25Like our expectations for Russell Wilson just too high.
01:28Are we so are we so consumed with the idea that quarterbacks play into their forties
01:34now?
01:35And that's the norm.
01:36Whereas maybe Russell Wilson is actually having a normal NFL career.
01:41Russell Wilson was never considered to be the best quarterback in the NFL.
01:45Russell Wilson from I don't think was ever really considered to be like a top two or
01:48three quarterback of his generation.
01:50Like he played in the generation of Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Payne Manning, and at the end
01:55of Payne Manning.
01:56But Russell Wilson has been in the league for 12 years.
02:00He's got a super bowl.
02:02He has, he at his prime, he was throwing for like 4,000 yards and like 35 touchdowns, which
02:08was incredible.
02:09Now he's 35.
02:11Now he's on the downtrend of his career.
02:12Why can't we just start, start talking about Russell Wilson where he's actually at, which
02:17is a 13 year NFL quarterback.
02:20Who's 35 years old.
02:21Like I think the expectations for Russell Wilson are too damn high.
02:25Well, I would, I would apply those same questions to Aaron Rodgers.
