00:00I'm seeing that, uh, Russell Wilson's calf tightened up on him again today at, uh, Steelers
00:10practice.
00:11And he was limited, like, is this guy going to be able to go on Sunday in Atlanta?
00:16Because this is the same thing I've told you about a million times.
00:19These calves and these hamstrings, these guys think they can come back, you know, remember
00:26I saw Gibbs.
00:27I'm 90, 98%.
00:28Okay, well, that 2% is the one that'll tear that thing again.
00:32Uh, these guys, Warren, he's like, yeah, I'm good to go.
00:36I, you know, I pulled it a couple of weeks ago.
00:39I'm good.
00:40Let's go.
00:41We'll, we'll play against about it.
00:42I don't trust anyone that they, you know, I'm going to give it a go today with my torn
00:46calf.
00:47I'm telling you these things, they just re up every time.
00:51I've seen it a million times.
00:52I've seen guys come back from hammies and calves and go right back down again.
00:58I mean, the second time they're down, they're down for a month and a half.
01:02Yep.
01:03That was the latest here that just came across the news desk, is that the calf tightness
01:07for him.
01:08Tomlin said he'll be evaluated further tomorrow.
01:12So limited today.
01:14I don't know, Scotty.
01:15I mean, three days, three days before the game, that, that doesn't sound very promising.
01:20Let's face facts.
01:22He stinks.
01:23Anyway, let's, let's get down to business here.
01:25This guy is, is clearly going down the other side of the mountain.
01:29No one wants to talk about that fact.
01:31He has never been the same guy that was in two Super Bowls.
01:36He's never even been close to that.
01:39He's been, uh, and at some level painful, you saw him in Denver going at it with the
01:45coaches.
01:46He's, you know, the, he's got a little prima Donna thing going in my book.
01:50I mean, he does.
01:51He's still this great quarterback, uh, that he was in Seattle and he has never been great
01:59after Seattle.
02:01And that's all there is to it.
02:02There's, I said this before, there's a reason that he's in Pittsburgh and there's a reason
02:06fields is in Pittsburgh.
02:08Both of these guys, nobody wanted them.
02:10Like they got sick and tired of the picks in Chicago.
02:14And uh, I think they got sick and tired of Russell Wilson.
02:17He wanted to throw the ball.
02:19Carol wanted to run the ball.
02:20So they got rid of him.
02:22And then Peyton wanted nothing to do with them.
02:24Right.
02:25Uh, but here's where this now, uh, could become very tricky for Mike Tomlin.
02:28And this is something that I don't think Scottie, he wanted to deal with this early.
02:32Me and you have said for months, Tomlin was going to go the safer route.
02:36You know him.
02:37He wants to take care of the football.
02:38He wanted to do all that.
02:39He wants to run.
02:40He wanted, he was going to start Russell Wilson no matter what was going to happen here.
02:44The only thing that's going to prevent that is something like this.
02:48And here's where it gets sticky for him.
02:50If Wilson can't play Sunday and Justin Fields starts and Justin Fields plays well and the
02:57Steelers win and Wilson's healthy next week, what are you doing?
03:03You got to go back.
03:04I mean, Fields won you in the first game.
03:06Yeah.
03:07You're not going to play Fields.
03:08If he plays well, that's where it becomes a nightmare for Tomlin.
03:10If Fields starts, plays well, and they win.
03:13I think, look, because he wants to play Wilson.
03:18He wants to play Wilson.
03:19He's smart.
03:20He does.
03:21That's all there is to it.
03:22So I guess this is all, you know, moot.
