00:00and we'll see you next week.
00:04Doc, we all saw the major concussion that Tua Tagovailoa
00:07did suffer in that primetime game against the Bills.
00:09It's not so much about when he's going to come back, Doc,
00:12but can you tell us, what's the process
00:14that Tua Tagovailoa is going through from the game itself
00:17to today on some of those tests, and also how they determine
00:20when he could possibly be cleared?
00:21Well, to me, there's no doubt
00:24he's gonna see multiple neurologists or neurosurgeons
00:26and get lots of good opinions.
00:28Every concussion, you could argue, is a major concussion.
00:31No two concussions are the same.
00:34You know, certainly he got hit by DeMar Hamlin,
00:36but he also hit the back of his head on the turf,
00:39and you guys are showing the pictures
00:40and images right there.
00:42And this is arguably his fifth concussion in five years,
00:45one in college, two diagnosed,
00:48but you could argue three in 2022, and now this one.
00:53Is this career-threatening?
00:56Absolutely.
00:57Every single concussion can be said to be that,
01:00but with five in five years, it is career-threatening.
01:03Is he gonna come back in one or two weeks?
01:05No, it's gonna need a longer absence.
01:08Is this career-ending?
01:09Not necessarily.
01:11If symptoms linger, it indeed will be career-ending.
01:14If symptoms go away quickly,
01:16then he may have a chance to go back.
01:18Let him determine that.
01:19The posturing, the fencing doesn't really relate
01:22to the seriousness of it,
01:24even though it looks bad to the general public.
01:27And note, he's not the highest number
01:29of concussions in the league.
01:30We focus on Tua because of the controversy in 2022,
01:35and of course, he's a quarterback, premier position,
01:38but Mitch Morris, now with the Jaguar Center,
01:41with the Buffalo Bills before,
01:42has six documented concussions in his NFL career.
01:45Pat Freyermuth has had three
01:47in his first young early career at tight end.
01:50So it remains to be seen,
01:52and it will be an individual decision
01:54along with the doctors.
