00:00injury update yesterday in Duval County. Doug Peterson telling reporters that Trevor Lawrence
00:09will be out again this week dealing with the upper body injury that is now confirmed to be
00:14a shoulder injury. Optimistic that he can play after the bye week. Donny, this is not great news
00:21of course for the Jaguars. Not sure it really matters for a franchise that is 2-8 this year
00:27and Doug Peterson knows that whether Trevor Lawrence is healthy and they start to win a few
00:31games or not, he's probably going to be looking for new employment next season. Yeah and it looks
00:36like he's already resigned to the fact of the matter. This guy's won a Super Bowl championships,
00:40got a ton of money by working two head coaching NFL jobs. One with the Philadelphia Eagles and
00:44obviously one with the Jaguars but my goodness man. I even joke about Doug Peterson just resigning
00:49and saying I don't need the money anymore because I got to coach Mac Jones and how awful this is
00:53going to be. But this was a season that you should have had better expectations. Now granted
00:58health does strike it at some times but Trevor Lawrence wasn't playing great football and neither
01:02was this football team. This was just two short years ago. You're watching him have massive
01:05comebacks in the playoffs and now you're saying okay this should be a team that's fighting at
01:09least for the top of the division every single year and the bottom has completely fallen out.
01:14The last thing you want to do is pay a quarterback, a young quarterback. Your franchise got a lot of
01:17money and put him out there at risk for maybe his future is in doubt because why? You're trying to
01:23win meaningless football games maybe to save the general manager's job or the head coaching job.
01:27It's up to them. They got to shut him down until he's at least 100% healthy and whether that means
01:32look four to five weeks off you get out there at the end of the season just to get some snaps in
01:36before you head into the offseason. I understand that but this season is over for Jacksonville.
01:40Keep him out of harm's way. Your only chance is if Trevor Lawrence turns into that franchise
01:45quarterback you thought he would be next year because otherwise you paid him a lot. The salary
01:49cap is going to go up. You're going to owe him a lot of money and if that doesn't work out you're
01:52back to square one which means rebuilding again in Jacksonville. They don't want to do that.
01:58Listen a wasted season is what we are calling the season outlook for Jacksonville the remainder of
02:03the way. It is completely the right case. Jacksonville is two and eight. You know what's
02:08interesting DRS? They've actually covered in four consecutive games. They are six and four against
02:13the spread this year. They've covered in three straight as an underdog. They kept it closer
02:18last week than we expected because they picked off Sam Darnold three times. A weird game in
02:24Philadelphia that they covered by more than a touchdown or as more than a touchdown underdog
02:29but it wasn't about being an underdog overcoming odds. It was a Jacksonville team expected to flirt
02:36with an AFC South division once again. That was the thought. The Texans were the team on the come
02:42up. Now the favorites the huntees no longer the hunters because around this point last year in
02:49fact at the end of week 12 Jacksonville was eight in three before Trevor Lawrence got banged up down
02:56the home stretch. They dropped five of their final six allowing a team like the Texans to come out of
03:02nowhere and take the AFC South. You see the expected win total eight and a half a very short
03:08plus money price on the outside but expected to be a playoff contender in the AFC. Donnie I feel
03:14like a fool slightly. I bet Jacksonville to win the AFC South before this year. It's not like
03:20Houston's running away with it or has looked picture perfect throughout the entirety of this
03:25season. It's just they're not really getting a test from anybody else around this division.
03:30No they're not and you hit the nail on the head. Six and four Houston Texans through 10 games
03:34played. You should be right in the thick of it even if having a bad season which means a game or
03:38two under 500 but you can't be two and eight on the season and losing players left and right at
03:43this point because you have to understand this. The human logic does work into this equation.
03:48A team that's eight and two is going to work much harder than a team that's two and eight but the
03:51other professionals they get paychecks. We understand that but business decisions are made
03:56all the time by football players. If it's in the goodness of the team where I will sacrifice for
04:01the win you're going to get the best out of them but a two and eight sacrifice for one more win
04:05that's not going to happen here. Jacksonville who knows what they're going to have but like Ben
04:08Mac Jones is terrible. Like you can't even get excited. Hey Mac Jones former you know
04:13first round draft pick let's see what he has. He has nothing Ben at all.
