00:00I think Tariq has done an exceptionally poor job throughout. I really believe it.
00:06Lee, I can't tell you. I don't think Lee deserves to be in the boardroom. I do
00:12think that Lenny deserves to be in the boardroom. It was his concept. The concept
00:17was bad. The concept was Lenny. You didn't bring Lenny back to the boardroom. You
00:21should have brought him back to the boardroom. Dan, you're fired.
00:30Yeah, I don't know what's gonna happen. It's gonna be really weird though if Tariq
00:46comes back again. Brother! Two for one? No, no, no. Two for one. Just one for one?
00:59Special one. We didn't get any specials. They fired Dan. Dan's gone. When Tariq
01:06walked back in from the boardroom, I was extremely disappointed. I don't
01:09understand why he keeps coming back. He doesn't play well with others is the
01:13bottom line and I just feel like we as a team would be stronger without him.
01:17Tariq, dude, we gotta seriously regroup and we gotta really pay attention to the
01:21way other people around here feel. I'll help you, dude. Like, you're gonna have to
01:24work on, like, not pissing these girls off. Otherwise, you're gonna be in the
01:27boardroom again. The team's very divided. I want everyone to be kind of a bigger
01:32person here and I think we need to all kind of come together tonight and put
01:36this behind us tonight before our next task tomorrow. This is my first meeting
01:40as a project manager, self-elected. Okay, I want to start, I want to start by
01:45saying we all got to put this behind us right now and I want anything that
01:48people are feeling about anybody in this group, I want it out on the table, I want
01:51it worked out in the next 15 minutes. Here's one big frustration of mine that
01:55regardless of what I do, doesn't matter if I do a good job, doesn't matter if I do
02:00a bad job, I'm gonna be the guy that gets called out in the boardroom every single
02:04time and I get the feeling that the reason for that is because you all think
02:09that I'm a strong player and you want to get rid of me. Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm a
02:16little bit honored that they keep coming after me because I know that one of the
02:20big reasons is that in order for them to become the next Supremacist, they have to
02:24knock me out. I find it highly insulting that you said, I think you guys just put
02:28me in the boardroom because I'm the strongest. That's insulting to me, Hart.
02:32You know, it's the weak team players that always go after the strong ones.
02:36You know, they're like a bunch of crazed coyotes and you know, they're going after
02:41the Buffalo. Tariq, every time somebody does suggest something that you don't
02:45like or if they do interrupt you, you get one of these. You roll your eyes, you sigh,
02:51you turn the other way. There you go, Charmaine. You got it. You got it. I accept the
02:54responsibility. I don't listen enough. I'm a detriment to the team right now, but
02:58I'll change my ways moving forward. You got it.
03:07Money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money, money.
03:18Some people got to have it. Some people really need it. Listen to me, y'all.
03:28Do thangs, do thangs, do thangs, bad thangs, baby.
03:35Dollar bills, y'all. Come on, bad dealings.
03:41Make great almighty dollars. I don't know that money.
03:49Give me a nickel, brother, can you swear that?
03:54Money can drive some people out of their mind.
04:01No good, no good.
04:03Money, money, money, money, money, money, money.
04:24I would love to partake in a task on any other day, but this day of the year, Yom
04:45Kippur, is the most holiest day of the entire Jewish calendar.
04:49How about a raincoat?
04:51Yeah, sure.
04:52That's perfect. Thanks, pal.
04:53No problem, man. See you later. Enjoy yourself.
04:56The way I personally observe the holiday is it's a day for me to step away from work,
05:02and it's a reflective day. It's a big, big part of my life, and, you know, it's definitely
05:09a difficult thing because I'm not sure exactly what my teammates understand about it, but
05:14I'm definitely thinking about the team and hoping that they're doing well, but I'm really
05:18focused on the holiday, but I definitely wish them the best, and I'm very confident
05:21in them.
05:48Good morning.
05:49Good morning, Mr. Trump.
06:00Welcome to week six of your 15-week job interview. Building a brand is a very, very wonderful
06:09thing. Behind me, I have my entire signature collection on display. The fragrance, the
06:16ties, the shirts, everything. It's a hot brand, and it's only getting hotter. Today,
06:21you'll be working with another great brand, Arby's. Arby's has been selling roast beef
06:26sandwiches for 40 years. I know them all too well because I happen to love their roast
06:32beef sandwiches, and now they're coming out with a new line, a chicken sandwich. It's
06:37all natural. For your next task, you'll create a musical jingle for these great sandwiches
06:42with lyrics that people are going to remember. You'll have access to a professional recording
06:48studio, musicians, and singers to help you. Each jingle will be performed live in a huge
06:55crowd for these two very talented Arby's executives. Your name, please?
07:00Good morning. Debbie Pike, Arby's Chief Marketing Officer.
07:03Good morning. Doug Benham, Arby's Chief Executive Officer.
07:06The executives will decide which jingle is better for the Arby's brand. Now, Bill and
07:13Carolyn will be my eyes and ears. They'll be watching. They'll be judging. The loser
07:18comes back to the boardroom where somebody will be fired. Okay? Okay. Good luck. Do a
07:25great jingle for Arby's. Let's see how you do.
07:29Hi. This is Charmaine with Gold Rush Corporation. I was actually just calling to see if we could
07:34set up an appointment with you this morning. Why don't we shoot for 10.15?
07:39Perfect. We'll see you at 10.15. All right. Thank you very much.
07:43Thanks, Debbie. Bye-bye. You're probably better at this than even I
07:46am, and I don't like saying that, but you probably are.
07:48Well, I mean, I can... What did Charmaine find out in terms of when
07:50is our meeting with the executives? Yeah, definitely.
07:52At 10.15, because we need to be on the next table.
07:55Last night, the meeting did not accomplish what I wanted it to accomplish. People were
07:58arguing with each other. No one was getting along. Huge mess. And I was trying to fix
08:02that. I said, you know what? We're only going to be successful if we work as a team.
08:07I think we're going to get this done, and bottom line is, if we lose, I'm going to be
08:12going home. Right.
08:13So everyone needs to be doing this for me.
08:26I think it's going to be a really exciting task. Are we going to try the sandwich, too?
08:31I think we have the perfect team for it. How do you guys really like it?
08:34We do. You're like the life force. Yeah.
08:36Oh, we're here. Fantastic. Right.
08:38As soon as Mr. Trump announced the task, I had that little voice inside of me saying,
08:42I can definitely do this. I can definitely do this. I know the team well enough that
08:45I can adapt a management style to get the best out of everybody.
08:49Doug. Hello. I'm Sean. How do you do?
08:51Sean, how are you doing? Nice to meet you.
08:54My first decision as project manager was to bring all of Synergy with me to meet the two
09:00executives from Arby's. I felt that because it was a creative task, I wanted everyone
09:03to hear what the Arby's executives had to say.
09:05Well, as we say in the restaurant, welcome to Arby's. How may we help you?
09:09If we could take away one thing that would help us to put together this jingle for you,
09:14what would it be?
09:15I think the fact that there are no competitors that have a whole line of natural chicken
09:20products. So we will be the first. So that's an innovation for Arby's.
09:24We wanted to learn about Arby's demographics, what geography they focus on, and just anything
09:29we could find out that's important to them to incorporate into the jingle.
09:33People, because of our heritage, still primarily refer to us as a roast beef restaurant in
09:37a lot of their minds. And with this product, what we're hoping to do is let people know
09:42that we have the best tasting chicken products and fast food.
09:46We're looking forward to this. We think it's going to be a lot of fun.
09:49Thank you. Thank you very much.
09:58So our executives' names are Doug and Debbie.
10:12Jingle. What is a jingle?
10:14Okay, a jingle is like, it's a musical piece of the commercial that kind of explains the
10:19product or just gives you like a catchphrase in your head.
10:28Let's go, Sharma.
10:29Be careful, yeah. Oh, hurry, I don't know where we're going.
10:32Where are we going?
10:33Where are we going?
10:42Hey. Welcome.
10:43Debbie, I'm Bryce.
10:47We were starting to get worried about you guys a little bit. 10-15. You got lost?
10:54Did we get lost?
10:58Leslie's compiled a bunch of questions here. I'm going to let her just kind of run down
11:01and please answer what you can. Appreciate it.
11:04One thing I would say to you is, you know, you guys are about 25 minutes late.
11:10And in a normal business meeting, you might not even have made it in the front door.
11:14You're providing services to us, but yet you kept us waiting.
11:17So in the future, I ask you to remind yourself, you need to be on time.
11:21We're just not that familiar with the city, most of us, and we don't exactly understand
11:25how long it takes to get certain places. And I didn't even realize we were 25 minutes late
11:29because I don't think I knew exactly when we were supposed to be here.
11:31And I certainly apologize for that.
11:33When you have a task where the executives are going to be doing the judging,
11:35priority number one, don't do anything to piss off the execs, okay?
11:39And I think we definitely got off to a wrong foot with these execs
11:44because we showed up late, and they were upset about it.
11:46And that's the role of the project manager, to make sure that we're there on time.
11:53It's over.
11:54How's it coming, all right?
11:55Are they going to take the broken one out or just leave it?
11:57Yeah, that's what we're going to do.
11:58So that's a 25-year-old piece of metal.
12:00You need the respect of your employees.
12:03Isn't this a brand-new escalator? Huh?
12:06I bought a brand-new escalator, fellas.
12:09I didn't buy one with old parts.
12:11If you're not going to leave, and if you're not going to have their respect, it's over.
12:15Give it up, go out, and get a job.
12:29I have a tune in my head.
12:30You know, their big thing is, I'm thinking Arby's, natural.
12:33When I'm thinking natural, I'm thinking Arby's.
12:37It's an idea.
12:38Nice.
12:39I like it.
12:40In the elevator, Roxanne came up with this quick little jingle, and we all liked it.
12:45What if you have something that says,
12:47tasty natural chickens here, you won't find it anywhere.
12:52So that way, this tasty natural chicken is only available at Arby's.
12:56That's good.
12:57It was really a group effort, as far as the lyrics go.
13:00Different people on our team came up with different lines,
13:03and they just merged so well together.
13:05When I'm thinking chicken naturals,
13:09I'm thinking Arby's.
13:11When I'm thinking tasty,
13:13I'm thinking chicken naturals.
13:15Tasty natural chickens here, you won't find it anywhere.
13:20When I'm thinking chicken naturals,
13:22I'm thinking Arby's.
13:25Once we had come up with the words,
13:27the real fun came when we actually went into another part of the recording studio,
13:31and we had a whole plethora of musicians at our fingertips.
13:35And one by one, we started adding each of them to the song
13:39to see what it sounded like.
13:40Do we need that? No, we don't need that.
13:42One, two, three, four.
13:44When I'm thinking Arby's,
13:46Can we match up his harmony on tape to one of the girls' ones?
13:49We can do that later, but yeah, absolutely.
13:50When I'm thinking tasty,
13:52But what about a harmonization?
13:54Just Jules at the end, but with harmony on Jules' voice.
13:56Okay.
13:57Wholesome natural chickens here, you won't find it anywhere.
14:00Wholesome natural chickens here.
14:02He said wholesome, really, and natural.
14:04And then she goes, you know, salad, sandwich, or rock.
14:06So we go for the stereotypes as we're talking.
14:08Let's do this, and we'll come back, we'll eat something, and then we'll catch up.
14:11Sean is doing a good job so far,
14:14but I do wish that maybe some of the responsibility that Sean takes
14:19could be shared amongst others in the group.
14:21I just hope that he doesn't take on so much
14:24that something slips through the cracks.
14:38Boy, this is hard.
14:40I don't have a lot of jingle ideas, guys.
14:42Maybe start with the bells.
14:44Jingle, like bells.
14:46Like for five seconds.
14:48Five seconds.
14:49And then.
14:50Then words come.
14:53I don't like that.
14:54Sorry.
14:56How about this?
14:57I got a great craving for chicken,
14:59and I'm thinking Arby's.
15:01Or something like that.
15:03I'm talking about music now.
15:04I'm thinking like a ringtone.
15:06Like a...
15:10Something like that.
15:12Jingle shmingle.
15:13Whatever it is, I have no idea, really.
15:15I wish I could be bigger input,
15:18but to me, this is rocket science, really.
15:21Can you think of that one?
15:26Who comes first?
15:27Chicken or eggs?
15:28Chicken.
15:29Natural is always the best.
15:30Okay.
15:31Huh?
15:32I'm just thinking.
15:33I'm trying to think out loud.
15:34Sorry.
15:35I'm just saying for the very end.
15:36Lenny isn't familiar with the term jingle.
15:39We had to explain it to him a couple of times,
15:41but I don't know that he understands thoroughly yet.
15:45Better than the rest.
15:47Arby's is the best.
15:51So far, his idea has been to incorporate
15:54the sound of a chicken in the jingle.
15:58That might, you know,
16:00could or could not be a problem.
16:02I'm thinking like chicken wraps.
16:05That's better.
16:06I think pure and natural needs to be up here.
16:08It tastes delicious.
16:09I agree.
16:10Move this one so we don't have them back to back.
16:12But do you think we need to put
16:13chicken salad in there twice?
16:15Part of being a good leader, in my opinion,
16:17is knowing your strengths and knowing your weaknesses.
16:19This isn't one of my strengths,
16:21so find a person whose strength it might be
16:23or who's at least stronger-headed than you are,
16:25and you let them go.
16:27So I put Charmaine and Leslie in charge of lyrics.
16:30I'm thinking Arby's is the best.
16:34That'd be good, like a little girl singing it maybe.
16:37And Tarek was my creative director.
16:39I want to barely hear the drums.
16:41When you say, I'm thinking Arby's,
16:43I mean, this is like, you're going to belt that out.
16:46Can we lower the piano just slightly
16:47just to hear how that sounds?
16:48If you guys can just kind of like get into it
16:50as much as you can, that'd be great.
16:51All right, can we take it from the top?
16:53I'm thinking Arby's chicken wraps,
16:56crispy chicken fingers.
16:58I was just stoked with the way it came out.
17:01It was kind of a retro vintage jingle type of a feel.
17:05Juicy and tender with chicken fat.
17:08I just couldn't be happier
17:09with the way this team has come together.
17:11They worked together, and they worked hard.
17:14And Tarek's been like night and day.
17:16He's doing, he's doing great.
17:18I'm proud of that.
17:19I think I'm partially responsible
17:20for how well these people came together.
17:23And they created something that was really, really good.
17:26I think we nailed the task.
17:28I'm thinking Arby's chicken wraps are the best.
17:33Yeah!
17:35Oh, that's good, great.
17:40Tuli, I'm gonna go out and see the kids about the jingle.
17:43Sound exciting to you?
17:45It better be.
17:55Wait till you hear it.
17:56You're gonna love it.
17:58I'm looking forward to it.
17:59Yesterday, Lee was gone for the Jewish holiday,
18:02and we did miss him.
18:03I mean, anytime you have a teammate that is an asset to you,
18:06you miss them when they're not there.
18:08But at the same time, we respect his principles
18:10and his religious beliefs,
18:11and we were happy to see him when he showed up.
18:13Can we have a quick hug all again?
18:15Come on, come on.
18:16Whoo!
18:17We've been judged solely on the quality of the 30-second jingle.
18:22So we have the opportunity to perform this jingle
18:25live to an audience of Arby customers,
18:28as well as Debbie and Doug from Arby's executive's office.
18:31One, two, three!
18:33Sticky!
18:35Whoo!
18:37Whoo!
18:43Hello, ladies and gentlemen.
18:44Thank you all very much for joining us today.
18:46We had a lot of fun in the last 24 hours
18:48putting together a fun-filled 30-second jingle for Arby's,
18:51and the most important thing is that you all have fun.
18:54So thank you very much again.
18:56This is our moment.
18:58This is the moment to shine.
18:59All those hours and hours and hours of, like,
19:01playing and playing and playing over again in the studio
19:04came down to this one moment.
19:07Here we go.
19:15When I'm thinking Arby's
19:17I'm thinking Chicken Naturals
19:19When I'm thinking tasty
19:21I'm thinking Chicken Naturals
19:23Wholesome natural chickens here
19:25You gon' find it anywhere
19:27Salad, sandwich, or a wrap
19:29Chicken for that hunger attack
19:31When I'm thinking Chicken Naturals
19:34I'm thinking Arby's
19:36Whoo!
19:45I'm concerned about that.
19:47Synergy went first, and I thought their sound was great.
19:51And I'm nervous as all get-out
19:53because I didn't go this direction.
19:55I went classic radio jingle.
19:58Hey, guys, you hear me? All right.
20:00First of all, I just want to thank Doug and Debbie
20:02for the opportunity. We've had an absolute blast.
20:04We worked together for the first time in a long time as a real team,
20:07and I just want to thank you both for that.
20:09We're gonna give it a go. Thanks so much.
20:18I'm thinking Arby's chicken wraps
20:21Crispy chicken fingers
20:23Pure and natural
20:25With Chicken Naturals
20:27I'm thinking Arby's chicken salad
20:30Chicken breast filet
20:33Juicy and tender
20:35With Chicken Naturals
20:37I'm thinking Arby's
20:38Tasty and delicious
20:40Better than the rest
20:42I'm thinking Arby's
20:45Chicken Naturals are the best
20:53Okay. Hello, everyone.
20:57Thanks for being here.
20:58Actually, the biggest Arby's fan in the entire world
21:01is gonna join us up here on stage.
21:03Donald Trump.
21:18By a vote of voices.
21:20Synergy. Who likes Synergy?
21:22Synergy.
21:29Okay. Who likes Goldrush?
21:34Synergy, who was your project manager?
21:36Sean, Mr. Trump.
21:37Sean, how do you think you did?
21:39I think we did terrific. It was unique.
21:41We raised the bar somewhat.
21:43We took a risk maybe with the sound,
21:45but it worked in the end.
21:46Okay.
21:48Goldrush, who was your project manager?
21:50I was, Mr. Trump.
21:51What did you do?
21:52These guys worked so well together.
21:54It was unbelievable.
21:55I'm very proud of what we came up with.
21:56All right.
21:57Well, Debbie, what did you think of Goldrush?
21:58I thought Goldrush did a good job
22:00in talking about the products,
22:02talking about the menu items,
22:04really describing them.
22:05So I think on taste,
22:06they did an excellent job in their jingle.
22:08What I didn't hear in your jingle
22:10was the fact that you can only get
22:12Chicken Naturals at Arby's.
22:14It was described as better,
22:16but not the only place
22:17where you could get Chicken Naturals.
22:19Is that a big factor?
22:20That's a very important part of this.
22:22Okay.
22:23Doug, how did Synergy do?
22:25Well, I think they nailed all the key points
22:27that we were looking for.
22:28We love the energy.
22:29It fit our whole brand personality
22:31of trying to be something different,
22:33something better,
22:34and I think the jingle did a good job at that.
22:36So could I ask you, who is the winner?
22:38Absolutely.
22:39We choose Synergy.
22:44All right, Synergy, congratulations.
22:46For your reward,
22:48you're going to do something
22:49very, very interesting.
22:50You'll get a chance to taste
22:52one of the most expensive delicacies
22:54anywhere in the world.
22:55For your reward,
22:56you'll go to Alain Ducasse
22:58and taste a six-course truffle-tasting menu
23:01featuring the white truffle.
23:03They cost up to $4,000 a pound
23:06and will be flown in specially for you
23:09from the hills of Alba, Italy.
23:11It is without question
23:13the most expensive meal
23:15that you will ever have.
23:17It's more expensive than Arby's,
23:19but personally, I prefer Arby's.
23:21You understand that, right?
23:23So congratulations.
23:25Have an amazing truffle meal.
23:27Thank you so much.
23:29Gold Rush, I'll see you in the boardroom.
23:31Somebody will be fired.
23:33Go ahead.
23:50The reward was to eat
23:51at Alain Ducasse's restaurant
23:53at the Essex House near Central Park.
23:55It's a restaurant that is
23:57very exclusive, very expensive,
24:00and the type of restaurant
24:01that you don't go to every day.
24:05Oh, very nice.
24:06Enjoy.
24:17Our sommelier is going to propose you
24:19maybe to start with an aperitif,
24:21and I will be right back with you.
24:23Okay?
24:24Thank you very much.
24:26I have to say, the ladies look wonderful,
24:28and they're just enhancing
24:29the whole experience, I think.
24:31All of you look very, very beautiful.
24:32And you two men couldn't look more dapper.
24:36You and I make beautiful music.
24:38Us too.
24:39We make beautiful music, darling.
24:41Really?
24:42Yes.
24:43Sean's a funny bird.
24:44Sean loves women,
24:46and you can relate to women well.
24:48So he makes the rounds,
24:51and we all know it.
24:53We all love it.
24:54We don't care.
24:55It's Sean.
24:56Oh, you're going to actually
24:57shave him in front of us.
24:58Wow.
25:00So we continue with blue food chicken
25:02I've been glazed with a classic sauce.
25:04Go with the white truffle.
25:06I feel like we should take a picture of it
25:08and not eat it.
25:10Right?
25:11That's a good idea.
25:12It's too pretty to eat.
25:13Wow.
25:15Mmm.
25:16Mmm.
25:18That's really good.
25:19Truffles traditionally are found
25:21in northwestern Italy.
25:22They're like a mushroom.
25:23They grow in the ground,
25:24and they come out for maybe
25:25two months of the year.
25:27Legend has it,
25:28people have died for truffles.
25:31And at $4,000 a pound,
25:34yeah, they might have.
25:35I remember Sean.
25:36I was so shocked when he spoke,
25:39and he had this adorable English accent.
25:42You thought I had a fake accent?
25:43Yeah.
25:44In fact, I was from Des Moines, Iowa.
25:46Right.
25:47I was just doing an accent
25:49to get attention
25:50and maybe score with some lovely ladies.
25:52Sean, show them what you've been working on.
25:54You've done really well.
25:55Show them your American accent.
25:57Rubber baby buggy bumper.
26:01I'm going to my ranch.
26:03The thing is, with your accent,
26:04you can say anything,
26:05and it can be a really dumb comment,
26:07not that you've ever made one.
26:08It can just be dumb,
26:09and you still sound so sexy.
26:12Having just won my first task as project manager,
26:16that is exhilarating in itself,
26:18and at the same time, humbling.
26:21There's a certain humility that comes from it.
26:23You know, you kind of take a step back,
26:25and whilst everyone is celebrating,
26:27you just kind of take a moment to yourself,
26:29and you take a deep sigh of relief.
26:31You're like, I did it.
26:40Can I get everyone from Gold Rush back here, please?
26:44Then we'll take a song.
26:48You all worked so hard, and I'm so impressed.
26:51I mean, and the way you all, you came together,
26:53and there was no bickering.
26:54I didn't have people coming up,
26:55you know, Tariq's pushing me aside,
26:57or the girls won't step up.
26:59I wasn't hearing that.
27:01You know, it's like,
27:02you know, it's like,
27:03it's like, it's like,
27:04it's like, it's like,
27:05it's like, it's like,
27:06it's like, it's like,
27:07I wasn't hearing that.
27:09This was a very tough loss, tough loss,
27:12because everybody worked very, very hard,
27:14and I'm terribly proud of what they produced.
27:17I couldn't be happier with the way they behaved
27:20and how well they worked together.
27:23I understand if you have to indict somebody,
27:25I don't live my life that way.
27:27I was raised a certain way,
27:29and there is no way that I will backstab
27:32and connive and humiliate
27:35the way my parents worked so hard to raise me.
27:38Maybe he won't fire anybody.
27:40Is that stupid to think?
27:41Yeah, it's stupid to think, sweetheart.
27:43I mean, it might be neat.
27:44And Charmaine,
27:45you have just been on my last nerve today
27:47because you're just such a sweetheart.
27:48I am not.
27:49Because you want everyone to love us,
27:51and you want everyone to be happy.
27:53It's ridiculous.
27:55Bryce really brought us back down to reality
27:57and made us remember who we are
27:59and why we're here,
28:00and he, you know, he's not playing a game.
28:03He's not out to stab anybody in the back
28:05and make up lies and drag people down with him.
28:08He's just here to be himself and be honest
28:10and, you know, carry the integrity with him
28:12that he's had throughout his life.
28:14If he has to choose between me and Lee,
28:16I'm willing to go.
28:17I never wanted a freebie or anything like that.
28:19I don't think you did want a freebie,
28:20and I don't think you deserve to be fired.
28:22You have to make a choice, man.
28:23If I have to go, I'm willing to go,
28:25and like I said, I told you,
28:26I was the less input than everybody else,
28:28but the problem is I can't write rhymes in English,
28:32so that's impossible for me.
28:34When Mr. Trump asked me who should go tonight,
28:36I'm not sure, to be honest with you.
28:38I think it's a really tough call,
28:40and it's a really hard position to be in,
28:43and I don't want anybody to go tonight.
28:45I made the ultimate decision
28:47about the direction we're going,
28:48so that said, in the boardroom,
28:50I would appreciate it if we could all remember
28:52how we felt when we were putting this thing together.
28:54I'd love to see you united front.
28:56That's all I can ask.
29:02Hello.
29:03Hi.
29:04You can go straight in the boardroom to see Mr. Trump.
29:40Bryce, you were project manager.
29:42What went wrong?
29:43I would say we lost because the music
29:45just wasn't appealing to the executives
29:47as Team Synergy's music was.
29:49And whose idea was the music,
29:50the concept of the music?
29:52Tarek was my creative director,
29:54and he actually came up with the melody for us,
29:56and I liked it as well, and I also approved it.
29:59But it wasn't really Tarek's idea.
30:01It was Charmaine's idea, right?
30:02Well, the words that we used
30:06were Charmaine's and Leslie's as well.
30:09If we missed one thing in the lyrics,
30:11it was the fact that we did not say
30:13Arby's was the only place you could get natural chicken.
30:16Which is a very big thing to miss.
30:18I understand that completely,
30:19but I'm not going to put the blame on anybody else
30:21other than myself.
30:22So do you think you should be fired,
30:23then, as the project manager?
30:24No.
30:25I think if you're looking to hire a jingle writer,
30:27you should probably fire me.
30:28Who should be fired?
30:29I think if it comes down to...
30:31For me, I'll tell you how it came to my decision.
30:33It comes down to who was able to contribute the least.
30:36And who was that?
30:37And unfortunately, that was Lenny.
30:38How do you feel about that, Lenny?
30:40Not so good, really.
30:42We lost. What can I say?
30:43Whose jingle did you think was better?
30:45Let me...
30:46I have no idea about jingles, really.
30:48It's two days ago...
30:49In Russia, they don't have jingles?
30:50I'm a first Russian jingle writer, actually.
30:54I guess, you know...
30:55Lenny, I find that hard to believe.
30:57How long have you been in the country?
30:5814 years.
30:59I think you may have used that as a bit of a crutch,
31:01in my opinion, that you've never heard of a jingle.
31:03How can you live here for 14 years
31:05and not be familiar with what a jingle is?
31:07You know what?
31:08I can understand you not knowing what a jingle was,
31:10but you certainly should know what a jingle is now.
31:12As far as I'm concerned, Lenny,
31:14you're on thin ice.
31:16Charmaine,
31:18you were responsible for the lyrics.
31:20Yes, I was, Mr. Chairman.
31:21There were certain mistakes with the lyrics.
31:22Do you feel that?
31:23I do.
31:24I feel that we did leave one major component out.
31:26Do you think you were responsible?
31:27I don't think I was responsible because...
31:28Bryce, do you think she was responsible?
31:30No, I don't blame Charmaine.
31:31Do you think she should be fired for that?
31:32No, I do not.
31:33I've got a question.
31:34When you guys had your meeting with the executives,
31:36you were 25 minutes late.
31:38They were a little upset.
31:39I didn't know that.
31:40That's a problem.
31:41I didn't know that.
31:42Is that leadership?
31:43I wasn't aware that we were late until we arrived,
31:44and I certainly apologize for that.
31:45Who was responsible for you guys being late?
31:47Well, I'm going to say that Charmaine made the appointment.
31:50Well, he doesn't know.
31:51She did ask.
31:52He doesn't even know he was late.
31:53Right.
31:54Well, I realized we were late.
31:55No, no, no.
31:56That's not true.
31:57You know what I'm saying, Bryce?
31:58When you're late, you start off like on a bad thing.
32:00I agree, sir.
32:01Maybe they liked your song,
32:02but they were angry before they heard your song.
32:04So you go in at a disadvantage.
32:07Now, Lenny, if you were me, who would you fire?
32:10I would fire Bryce because he was on top of everything.
32:14He ultimately made every decision on this task.
32:18I have nothing to do with this task.
32:19I'm sorry.
32:20I wish I could make more input.
32:23I can't write rhymes in English.
32:24I try in Russian.
32:25Try translated.
32:26Complete crap.
32:27All right?
32:28Doesn't match.
32:29And listen, I think the guy was on the top of everything,
32:32and he overlooked something probably.
32:36Tarek, who would you fire if you were me?
32:38Regrettably for this task, sir, I'd have to say Bryce
32:41because of the decision-making.
32:43Lee, who would you fire?
32:44It's definitely not right for me to make that decision
32:46given the fact that I was not with the team for the task.
32:49Do you think it's unfair that you missed two weeks
32:54and you sort of got a bye for two weeks
32:56because of the fact that you missed it?
32:57Let me just say I don't want a bye for this week.
32:59If the team thinks that I should be fired, then so be it.
33:03No, but do you think it's fair?
33:05I mean, this is who I am.
33:06I don't know what else I mean to say.
33:08I mean, I don't want to misrepresent myself.
33:10This is something that's very important to me.
33:11It's pretty tough.
33:12You know, there's nothing you can do about it.
33:14Not your fault.
33:15Religion is the most important.
33:16Right.
33:17I take that 100%.
33:18Religion and family.
33:19But it's pretty tough for the group
33:20where somebody's going to be fired.
33:22And I would be working.
33:23But life is not fair.
33:24It never is.
33:25Right.
33:26And it's a part of life.
33:27I've seen so many things in life that are unfair,
33:29but that's the way life is.
33:31Life sucks.
33:32Do you know that?
33:34I don't think it sucks, but it might be unfair.
33:36I disagree with that.
33:37Life is pretty tough.
33:38Leslie, if you were me, who would you fire?
33:41I would have to fire Lenny due to the fact
33:43that he did not input as much as the rest of us.
33:45Mr. Trump, I think Lenny is good at a lot of things.
33:49I think this is something
33:50that he really, really, really struggled with.
33:52And even though he couldn't contribute,
33:53he wasn't negative at all.
33:55He just simply could not contribute.
33:57I think Lenny masks his own talent
33:59by acting sometimes like a comedian,
34:02if you want to know the truth.
34:04All right, Bryce.
34:06Pick two people.
34:08They're going to be exposed.
34:10They may be fired.
34:11You may be fired.
34:12The rest go up to the suite.
34:14Who are the two people you want to bring back?
34:16I'm going to pick Lenny and Lee as well.
34:20Why are you bringing him back?
34:21Because he observed a Jewish holiday?
34:23No, this is what it comes down to.
34:25We lost this task based on creative input.
34:29And I respect what Lee has done 110%.
34:32I don't have a bad word to say about him,
34:34but I really could have used his head.
34:36Isn't it hard to bring somebody back into the boardroom
34:39to possibly be fired
34:40because he observed a religious holiday?
34:42It's terrible.
34:43It's terrible.
34:44And I really think that if one of us has to be fired,
34:47unfortunately again,
34:48I don't like the fact that Lenny needs to be fired,
34:51but I believe he contributed the least.
34:54And it's a very difficult decision,
34:56but I have to make one.
34:58All right, Leslie, Tarek, Charmaine,
35:02go up to the suite.
35:04I'll see you three back here in a second.
35:06Somebody will be fired, as you know,
35:08as you probably figured.
35:09I'm aware of that, yes.
35:10Thank you, sir.
35:13♪♪♪♪
35:23Hi, guys.
35:25♪♪♪♪
35:42Robin, bring him in.
35:44Okay, gentlemen, you can go back into the boardroom
35:46to see Mr. Trump now.
35:49♪♪♪♪
35:54Thank you, Robin.
35:56♪♪♪♪
36:04Bryce.
36:05Yes, sir.
36:06Charmaine and Tarek were responsible
36:08for the music and the lyrics,
36:09and that's how you lost.
36:10Why didn't you bring them back?
36:11Because I ultimately approved the lyrics
36:14and the music.
36:15Without Charmaine,
36:16we would have had no lyrics at all.
36:18Without Tarek, we would have had no music.
36:20They worked very hard,
36:21and, you know, we lost.
36:25It was a team effort.
36:26We lost because we didn't have
36:28any more creative ideas.
36:29No, but let me ask you.
36:30You brought Lee in,
36:31who's observing a Jewish holiday.
36:33He had nothing to do with the task.
36:34And it's awfully tough for me to say,
36:36Lee, you're fired.
36:37I don't think you should fire Lee, sir.
36:38You don't.
36:39So why'd you bring him in for?
36:40You said to bring two people in.
36:42Well, what the hell do you bring him in for?
36:43Do you think I'm going to fire him?
36:44Because you know what?
36:45Sooner or later, you've got to stand up
36:46for what you believe in.
36:47Let me ask you.
36:48Do you think I'm going to fire him
36:49because he observed the Jewish holidays?
36:50No, I hope you don't.
36:51I know you won't.
36:52I know you won't.
36:53But why do you bring him back?
36:54I made the overall decisions.
36:55But, Bryce, aren't you ultimately responsible,
36:56especially since you gave Tarek a bye
36:59and Charmaine a bye?
37:00Lenny didn't do anything wrong.
37:02You know what?
37:03Lenny didn't do anything.
37:04Before, you were saying Lenny was okay.
37:05He's good.
37:06He's one.
37:07Now you're saying he didn't work.
37:08I think he's a great guy.
37:09He could not contribute like the other people could.
37:11As much as the other people could.
37:13He could not contribute.
37:14He's not a bad guy at all.
37:15But the other two missed the mark.
37:16We have.
37:17You know what?
37:18They might have worked hard.
37:19They didn't.
37:20They might have worked hard.
37:21They missed the mark.
37:22You know what?
37:23I also missed the mark.
37:24You know?
37:25But don't you think that those two should be here
37:27as opposed to the two people,
37:28these two people here?
37:29No, I don't.
37:30I don't.
37:31I don't understand the logic then.
37:32Well, apparently...
37:33The point is you just can't do that.
37:35That's not the way the world works.
37:37You know what?
37:38That might not be the way the world works.
37:39Then don't bring anybody else in.
37:40Maybe it should be.
37:41Maybe it should.
37:42You know what?
37:43What do you mean?
37:44That should be the way the world works?
37:45No, maybe, maybe...
37:46You mean somebody observes the Jewish holidays?
37:47Yeah, that's exactly what I said.
37:48That's not what I said at all.
37:49What does that mean?
37:50I said simply, you know,
37:51maybe if there's no one really to throw the blame on,
37:54that maybe you just pick the one who could...
37:56I mean, he could not contribute.
37:58And I made the ultimate decision.
38:00And so I have to stand up and I have to defend my team.
38:03I still believe what we produced was a very good jingle.
38:06We lost fair and square.
38:08Yes.
38:09And you lost to a better jingle.
38:10But they worked very, very hard.
38:11You lost to better music and better lyrics.
38:13We lost to a different jingle.
38:14Excuse me.
38:15We lost to a jingle that appealed to a younger audience.
38:17Excuse me.
38:18I think your jingle was good.
38:19But you lost to better music and better lyrics.
38:21And I don't care what you say.
38:22I was raised a certain way.
38:23And you stand up for the decisions that you make.
38:26And I have to do that.
38:27I'm not going to throw people under the bus
38:29who don't need to be thrown under the bus.
38:30It's not going to happen.
38:31And I'm not throwing these two gentlemen under the bus either.
38:32Just say fire me, Mr. Trump.
38:33You've got to stand up for what you believe in.
38:34But let me tell you.
38:35I think these people did a very, very good job.
38:36Bryce.
38:37Bryce.
38:38I think it's terrible that you brought Lee back.
38:40Okay?
38:41He's observing a Jewish holiday.
38:42You can send Lee home like that.
38:43I think.
38:44Excuse me.
38:45Maybe I will send him home.
38:46But I think it's terrible that you brought Lee back.
38:49I think it's terrible that you didn't bring Tarek back
38:52and that you didn't bring Charmaine back.
38:54And I think it's terrible that your team was so late for the Arby's executives.
38:59And Bryce, you're fired.
39:05And I think you have great potential, too.
39:07Thank you, sir.
39:08I appreciate that.
39:09Good.
39:10Go.
39:11Out.
39:26See you later.
39:32See you later.
39:42I didn't like that he brought Lee back.
39:44Lenny is a different story, but he should have brought the other two people back.
39:48I thought it was an easy one.
39:49Yeah, it wasn't that tough.
39:51Okay.
40:02Let's go.
40:32Let's go.
