We try the new range of Doe doughnuts available in Booths

00:00I wanted to talk to you about these new dough doughnuts that you can now get in

00:05booths across the county. This one is the caramel cookie feast doughnut. I'll show

00:13it to you properly in a minute but you can see it's no ordinary doughnut that.

00:17It's quite big, it's got what looks like buttercream, chocolate buttercream and

00:22about an eighth of a cookie, a chocolate chip cookie on there. I'm just looking at

00:28the receipt and that costs £3.95 so it's expensive for a

00:35doughnut but I saved 79p because I'm a booths cardholder. So let's get into this.

00:42Dough, I follow them on social media. They're a small bakery I believe that

00:50has a few sites in Yorkshire and I think there was one in Clitheroe. I need to

00:56double check that that one's still going but yeah very interested to try these

01:00because they're quite artisan, they're quite quite fancy looking and I hope

01:07that they taste as good as they look. So this is what it looks like close up and

01:10a little bit messy as you can see because of all this buttercream. I'll pick

01:16it up as well, fair weight to that. Some people will eat that on their own, not

01:24for me, I think I'd have to share that one. So I'll cut it up now, show you what

01:27it looks like and then I'll tell you what it tastes like. There we go, that's what it

01:30looks like when you cut it open. It's got all this buttercream on the top and then

01:35like a caramel filling. The date on it is today's date. Now I bought this at about

01:41half past 11 in the morning, so lunchtime basically. I would say that the

01:47display was half full, I don't know whether that's because it was only

01:50stacked half full or whether they've already sold them all out but yeah I

01:54bought it today and it's got today's date on it so I don't know how long

01:59they've been lying around for. It looks good so let's see. Okay so I have eaten a

02:07small bit of this and I say small because it's very rich, it's very dense,

02:12it's very decadent, of course it is, that's what we wanted when we're buying

02:16something like this, right? We expect it to be. I was concerned, as I said

02:22earlier in the video, about it only having today's date on it. Yeah, it

02:28wasn't stale or anything like that, it didn't feel like it had been hanging

02:30around for ages. Nice and fresh doughnut, it had that traditional fried doughnut

02:35taste. Buttercream, as you would expect, rich, creamy, sweet, caramel, really nice.

02:44The cookie on the top was fine but completely unnecessary, difficult to eat,

02:50messy, there's stuff everywhere, there's crumbs all over the floor, all over my hand,

02:54it's sticky. A decadent, indulgent, rich treat that, come on, you're gonna share,

03:01you're not gonna have all of that yourself. It's expensive, I would say,

03:06for what it is, even with a cardholder discount. So as a one-off, as a treat,

03:11yeah, great. I don't think you're gonna be buying these every day.
