00:00Diesel's Special Delivery
00:06It was market day on the island of Sodor.
00:10The engines were very busy,
00:13chuffing and puffing,
00:16taking trucks of fruit and vegetables to market.
00:21Diesel wasn't going to market.
00:24He had to take slates to the school.
00:27The school roof was broken and it was going to rain.
00:32The roof needed the slates to be fixed.
00:36Diesel clanked through Maithwaite station.
00:40James was there.
00:42Children were clapping and cheering.
00:45James was very proud.
00:48I have been clapped and cheered all morning.
00:52I have a very special special.
00:55Diesel was puzzled.
00:57What's so special about your special?
01:02Then, Diesel saw that James was taking pretty round pink piglets to Farmer Trotter's farm.
01:11I never have pretty pink piglets to deliver.
01:14I am never clapped and cheered.
01:17That's because you are a diesel.
01:22Special coming through!
01:26And James whooshed proudly out of the station.
01:35Diesel clattered off.
01:38He wanted to follow James.
01:41He wanted to be clapped and cheered.
01:44Then, along the track, Diesel saw Thomas.
01:50Thomas was puffing to market.
01:52He had a truck of round shiny apples.
01:58Where are you going with those apples, Thomas?
02:01I'm taking them to market.
02:03I must hurry. I have a very busy day.
02:10Then, Diesel had an idea.
02:13Those apples are just as pretty as James' piglets.
02:17If I take them, I will be clapped and cheered just like James.
02:23So, Diesel oiled next to Thomas.
02:28I'm not busy today. I can take your apples to market.
02:32Thomas was surprised.
02:35Thank you, Diesel.
02:38So, Diesel left his slate in a siding.
02:42He was coupled up to Thomas' truck of round shiny apples
02:47and hurried to be cheered and clapped just like James.
02:54Diesel found James at Madden Station.
02:58Children were on the platform.
03:00They were clapping and cheering James and his piglets.
03:06Nobody cheered and clapped Diesel and his round shiny apples.
03:13Diesel was upset.
03:15I thought my apples were just as pretty as James' piglets.
03:26I will find something else that is sure to be cheered and clapped.
03:30Diesel clanked and clattered away.
03:35Then, Diesel saw Rosie.
03:38Rosie was pulling a flatbed of pretty bright flowers.
03:43Where are you going with those flowers, Rosie?
03:46I'm taking them to market.
03:48I must hurry. I'm very busy.
03:51Then, Diesel had another idea.
03:55Those flowers are as pretty as James' piglets.
03:58If I pull those flowers, I will be clapped and cheered just like James.
04:06I'm not busy today, Rosie.
04:08I will take your flowers to market for you.
04:11Rosie was surprised.
04:13Thank you, Diesel.
04:16Diesel was coupled up to Rosie's pretty bright flowers.
04:21Diesel felt very happy.
04:30Soon, Diesel saw James at a crossing.
04:34Children were cheering and clapping.
04:38Diesel also cheered.
04:41Cheering and clapping.
04:44Diesel oiled to a stop with his apples and flowers.
04:48No one cheered and clapped for Diesel.
04:52He was upset.
04:54I thought my apples and flowers were just as pretty as James' pretty pink piglets.
05:00But no one is cheering or clapping.
05:04James puffed proudly away.
05:07Diesel clung crossly to market.
05:11Diesel clattered crossly back from market.
05:15He passed Farmer Trotter's farm.
05:18There was James' flatbed of pretty pink piglets.
05:23Then, Diesel had a very special idea.
05:28If I take James' piglets to the school children, they are sure to clap and cheer.
05:37So, Diesel was coupled up to the piglets' flatbed.
05:41And he hooted happily away as fast as his wheels could rattle.
05:50Diesel arrived at the school.
05:52He saw children standing outside.
05:56Rattling rods, they are sure to clap and cheer me now.
06:01But the children didn't clap and they didn't cheer.
06:05The children were wet and they were worried.
06:11Trembling tracks.
06:13The children don't want to see pretty pink piglets.
06:17They want a new roof for their school.
06:20Then there was trouble.
06:22The Fat Controller arrived on Thomas.
06:25He was cross.
06:27Diesel, what are you doing with James' piglets?
06:32And where is the slate for the school roof?
06:36Diesel felt terrible.
06:39I'm sorry, sir.
06:41I have been very silly.
06:43I brought the piglets to show the children because I wanted to be clapped and cheered.
06:49But I see now that the children don't want pretty pink piglets.
06:54They want a new roof for their school.
06:56That's right, Diesel.
06:58You must put this right now.
07:02Diesel clattered away.
07:05He wanted the children to be happy.
07:09Diesel rattled and raced.
07:12He had forgotten all about being clapped and cheered.
07:16He only wanted to be really useful.
07:19I must get back to the school with the slate before it rains again.
07:23Diesel arrived at Farmer Trotter's farm.
07:28I'm sorry, Farmer Trotter.
07:30I took your piglets to show to the children.
07:33I wanted to be cheered and clapped like James.
07:36But now I know I should have taken the slate to the school.
07:40That was much more important.
07:43Farmer Trotter was happy to have his piglets back.
07:47And Diesel was happy to have his piglets back.
07:51And Diesel was happy to hurry to pick up the slate.
07:56Soon, Diesel was racing back to the school as fast as his wheels could work.
08:06Diesel wheezed into the school.
08:09The children were still waiting.
08:12Don't worry, children.
08:14Here are the slates for your roof.
08:16The children clapped and cheered.
08:20Hooray for Diesel!
08:22Now we won't be wet!
08:24Hip-hip! Hooray for Diesel!
08:26Well done, Diesel!
08:33Diesel heard the children cheer.
08:36He saw them clap.
08:38I have never been happier!
