00:00If you play chess and don't have anyone to play with, then here is the perfect solution
00:17for you.
00:18Or even if you do have friends that play and you both own a VR headset, this saves setup
00:23and breakdown times.
00:25You can either play against AI on 5 different levels, Tryout, Intermediate, Advanced, Master
00:33and then Grandmaster.
00:35You then select your time row which is between Blitz which is 5 minutes long, Rapid at 15
00:42minutes long, Classic at 30 minutes long and finally Tournament at 60 minutes long.
00:48You can then choose to be black or white or just randomise it.
00:52Next pick your setting.
00:55There are currently 4 settings, the Grand Palace and the Masters Garden.
01:00They are a nice relaxed atmosphere with classic looking boards.
01:04The Stonehenge setting is a beautiful backdrop with animated pieces and then finally the
01:10Isha Dream setting is in black and white.
01:13I'm not entirely sure why you would want to play in black and white but each to their
01:18own.
01:19There is also no choice of mixed reality which is a shame, this would be a perfect setting
01:25for those wishing to play a bit of chess whilst maybe watching television.
01:29So then off you go, start playing.
01:32Nothing really much I can comment on here, the AI seems fair, not that I'm an incredibly
01:37good player or anything, so I just played on Intermediate, the only thing I can say
01:42is just don't forget to hit that timer at the end of each go.
01:47Once in the game you can pick up a piece beside the board which allows you to make the clock
01:53automatic or you can toggle music on or off.
01:57You also have a choice to play with just your hands which is pretty cool.
02:02You also have an option to customise your AI game, so you don't have to keep selecting
02:07all the options, just select them once and then you have a customised piece.
02:12If you want to try play against real people, you can add your friends or you can try against
02:17people online, there is an auto match lobby where the game will try find the best active
02:24opponents at a similar level to you.
02:27There is also voice activation where you can move pieces and other commands such as I resign,
02:34it's a draw, hide him or her and mute my opponent, though I would be incredibly offended if the
02:41last thing I heard my opponent saying is mute my opponent and then they never talk again.
02:48Anyway, I have really enjoyed playing this for the past few hours, I would really like
02:53to see new backdrops added, more choices of boards and most importantly more selection
02:59of playing pieces, even if they are not animated it would be good to have a lot more choice
03:05of pieces and then for each player to be able to take their chosen sets into a game.
03:11Now for those saying I don't know how to play chess, well I didn't see anything here
03:16that teaches you how to play chess, but with the power of the internet, that's easy to
03:22look up and then you can try out and play in this game at your own comfort in privacy.
03:28So on that, I score Chess Club VR a 30 out of 35, you can find my scoring system in the
