- Fully explorable "real" and gaming Worlds
- Lore-heavy storytelling

00:00What a guy, I'm a man on the street. What a guy, I'm loose on the beat.
00:11Stop!
00:12Woo-hoo, dancing!
00:15This song totally matches the party, Bug!
00:18You know what we should do?
00:20Add that type of music to all games!
00:25Pixel Ripped, 1978. Bit of a strange one, this.
00:30It has parts that I really liked, such as the scenes when you're sitting in your office working away
00:36and co-workers come for a chat, and some of the 2D games are such fun.
00:41But then there's the Minecraft-type graphic games, which are bearable for about 15-20 minutes,
00:48but then I found them to become quite irritating.
00:52I did enjoy this story, and as a time traveller, the game ties in with the story quite nicely.
00:58The controls are very easy, as well as the menus are easy to navigate.
01:04You will switch between a lot of characters in this game, as there are a lot of games within a game.
01:11Some you will fight with using swords or guns, some are jumping games, some are pong-type games.
01:19Nothing complicated, as you would expect from this era.
01:23Because of all the games within a game, it feels quite big.
01:28But I'm not sure it's that big.
01:31But you will feel it is.
01:33And that's not a bad thing, as you do get about 4-6 hours out of this game,
01:38again, depending how good you are at solving puzzles and following clues.
01:44As with all classic games, there's always a boss to defeat,
01:48and this game is not short on bosses to defeat.
01:51Nothing too tricky, but a couple might get you stalled for longer than you thought.
01:56I really did enjoy playing this one through,
01:59and I will buy Pixel Rip 1989 and Pixel Rip 1995 if they both come up on a good sale in the Metaquest store.
02:08If you are looking for a fast shooter, or a complex fighting game, or a challenging puzzles game,
02:14then this isn't going to be for you.
02:16This is just a standard, plod along at a nice pace, fun game.
02:22If this comes up on a $10 sale, then nab it quickly.
02:27So on that, I score Pixel Rip 1978 a 31 out of 40.
02:34And you can find a more detailed look at my scoring system in the description section below.
02:39Drop me a like if you enjoyed the video, leave a comment if you have played this and your thoughts on it,
