TaskMaster VR REVIEW On the Quest 3

Submit to the judgement of The Taskmaster in glorious VR! The hit TV show comes to VR and YOU are the contestant. Endeavour to complete a menagerie of weird and wonderful tasks and get creative in how you solve them!

The goal of Taskmaster VR is simple - complete tasks and impress The Taskmaster. Sound easy? Well, it never is. These tasks are taxing and The Taskmaster is not known for being lenient

YOU VS THE TASK
Mastering tasks requires skill, patience, precision and grace. And if that fails, just throw things around and hope for the best - you can use whatever comes to hand to do whatever you need to do.

EXPLORE THE WORLD OF TASKMASTER
The Taskmaster House is a colosseum of foolhardy pursuits and a theatre of broken dreams. The Taskmaster himself, Greg Davies, and his long suffering assistant Little Alex Horne will have more than a few things to say about your efforts in a fully voice acted performance from the deadpan duo.

WIN THE TROPHY, LOSE YOUR DIGNITY
Become the series champion and be bestowed with a tremendous trophy in a fetching shade of not-quite-gold - but winning isn’t everything - your score reflects your individual journey, and even low scores contribute to your story. You’ll see things that the overachievers of this world never will!

MAKE YOUR OWN TASKS IN CREATIVE MODE!
Your journey won't end when you lift that shiny golden bonce - Creative Mode lets you slip into Alex and Greg’s shoes and create your own tasks - perfect for challenging your friends in local play.

00:00Taskmaster VR. This game sounded appealing to me when I first heard of it, then once
00:20it got released I literally spent 10 hours watching the series on YouTube. I couldn't
00:25believe I haven't seen this series before. It had so many of my favourite comedians and
00:31presenters on it, but I put it down to living in Japan and not being up to date on the UK
00:37television programmes. So anyway, I was excited to finally play this. Now my first impressions
00:44were not that great. I feel like it could look a lot better in the graphics. Whilst
00:50it's not the worst, there is certainly room for a lot of improvements. I'm glad I watched
00:57the television show first because it certainly gave me a better understanding of how this
01:02game show works, so not to take anything too serious as there might be shortcuts, hidden
01:09clues or just ways to work around some of the tasks. So there are basically 15 tasks
01:17split into 5 episodes of 3 tasks in each. The tasks are not bad, a bit hit and miss,
01:25half decent, half could be improved. The problem solving is true to the show and will require
01:32some thought on most of them. In each episode you will do 2 tasks in the house or garden
01:39and then one in the studio. The set is very true to the show. It looks great and is instantly
01:50recognisable. I wish though there was a button you can press to have the option to skip the
01:56dialogue. The game gives approximately 2.5 hours of gameplay and longer if you want to
02:06beat your scores. You do have the option to go back and play any task you want once
02:12you have completed them. There are also mini-tasks you can do. I assume these must unlock as
02:19you get certain scores in challenge tasks. The controls are very simple to learn, though
02:26the mechanics need much improvement, especially when trying to throw objects or pick up objects
02:33and handle them. The menus are also very simple and clear to understand. I really wanted
02:40to love this game but I just can't. I've played through it once and I just don't feel a sense
02:47of wanting to return to it. If you are a fan of this show you are going to appreciate the
02:54set and some of the tasks, but you are going to be felt let down, like something is missing.
03:01The mistake I think they have made in making this is it being a solo player game where
03:07it really needed to be a competitive game. It needed to be a multiplayer game so you
03:14could either play and compete against your friends or online against other players. If
03:20you can pick this game up for a few dollars then go for it, but I would say for now give
03:26it a lot more time for updates to fix and improve some things hopefully. So I score
03:34Taskmasters VR a 17 out of 25. You can find my scoring system in the description section
03:42below. Please hit the like button if you found this video helpful. If you are playing this
