00:00Dimension X is doing wonders for this death spot. Here's a look at the Mattel
00:04of Master Universe Turtles of Greyskull Skeletor Evil Samurai of Destruction.
00:11Time and time again Skeletor attempted to destroy He-Man only to fail. Until that
00:31is the fateful day he crossed paths with an evil alien named Krang. Now with He-Man
00:35out of the way, Skeletor's path to controlling the power of Greyskull is
00:38finally clear. Well, well, well, it seems that Bonehead's been borrowing somebody
00:43else's tech. Just before we get a closer look at the Turtles of Greyskull
00:47Skeletor, first we're gonna grab the tape measure. Second, we're gonna measure the
00:51figure. Third, I'm gonna tell you how tall the figure stands. And in that order
00:54you're looking at Skeletor standing at about five and three-quarters of an
00:58inch in height, where the figure is fourteen and a half centimeters tall. Bad
01:02guys are a lot like Velcro. They tend to stick together. In fact, here's what the
01:06figure looks like with the looked-at earlier Shredder. Same size figure, same
01:10build of body. Obviously completely different armor and completely different
01:13heads. Obviously he took some elements from Krang. So let's bring in the
01:17recently looked-at Krang, who's almost completely out of the screen. I do want
01:22to bring in a turtle, just because I don't tend to bring in a lot of turtles
01:24for comparison's sake. So here's what he looks like with Donatello. And of course,
01:27defeated He-Man, here's what the figure looks like with him. Oh right, yeah, I got
01:31a couple of Skeletors too. Bringing in the version one laughable-looking face
01:35Skeletor. Color-wise, you can see like the bodies are a little bit more darker
01:39with the one we're getting from the Turtles of Greyskull. In fact, from a
01:41color scheme standpoint, although it's not quite the same colors, it has a lot
01:46more of the purple colors that we got here from the Snake Armor variety. All
01:49five of you, I'm sure, will be happy to know that Skeletor does include, yes, the
01:52paper sheet that tells you you can mix and match and swap the parts out with
01:55other Master's figures. You can take off the head, you can remove the shoulders,
01:59the lower half of his body and his boots. Does anybody care? All five of you care.
02:02We're just going to discard that into the Recycler. Just before, though, I do that,
02:05one thing that's noted here on the image is that nowhere to be found is the fur
02:09cape. They've left that off the image. Actually, you can take the fur cape off.
02:13I'll show you guys how that works in a second. I will, though, spend more time
02:16talking about the mini-comic, this one entitled The Spirit of Greyskull. I see
02:20what they did there. Still not liking the look of the actual Turtles themselves. I
02:24think everything around them, character-wise, is actually really good.
02:27There's a good image, actually, of the sorceress you can see inside. A beautiful
02:31looking sorceress. There's also, as well, April O'Neil and a really good image of
02:35Splinter. There's also a tease there, as well, for Merman, which is right there.
02:40Merman, I think, is going for crazy stupid prices online. Just so stupid
02:44prices. And then, of course, there's also the advertisement there for He-Man.
02:47He-Man also, I don't know if I really want to be spoiling anything, but there's
02:51also an image of Skeletor. There's He-Man. Advertised, though, no spoiling on the
02:55back, is Michelangelo, Skeletor, Teela and Casey Jones. Yes, we're gonna be adding
03:01that to the rest of the mini-comics. The figure, I was surprised, probably because I
03:06haven't really checked out other reviews of Skeletor here, I was surprised to see
03:09that he actually came included with a canister of ooze. That's really cool. I
03:12would have liked if, instead, it could have been included for Shredder. And, by
03:17the way, the ooze does fit into their hands. Because, unfortunately, it has to
03:20clip into their hands like this, it sacrifices really how thick a canister
03:24of ooze should really be. Not that I know a lot about how thick canisters of ooze
03:28should be, but it does have to be a little bit thinner in order to fit
03:30inside the grip of their hands. I really would have wished this could have come
03:34included with Shredder, but the fact that it comes included with any of the
03:36characters, I'm just happy by that. It's translucent blue and then it's, obviously,
03:41on either side of it, it's booked in on either side, painted nicely in silver.
03:43I like that. The figure also comes included with the, I think it's
03:48Kasaragamas, which essentially are like nunchuck that have
03:53blades on the end. The thing that's really cool about them is, if you're
03:56looking at them, they're actually the head of the Havok staff times two. While
04:01these glow, I mean, I'm not shining any light on them, just this guy glows and
04:05emits color just just by looking at him. Also, the same could be said as well for
04:09the Kasaragamas. It's so hard to say. These are pretty soft and
04:15plastic. The only thing I would say, though, is I wish the chain was longer.
04:18You'll see why, because if you try to put this in a Skeletor's hands, for example,
04:23you can't quite get them completely in both his hands without having to
04:28bring his hands closer together. So you can clip one and then if you want to get
04:32the other one, you have to get them really close together. This only
04:35really needed three, maybe four more links at most and then you could have
04:39actually had the figure displayed with a wider grip. With it is right now,
04:43unfortunately, you have to keep things quarter-wise pretty close to one
04:46another. But look how cool that glows. Everything on this guy that's green
04:50just permeates, just glows in green. Removing those for right now, we're just
04:56gonna put them off to the side. The figure does have these gauntlets that
04:59are on the sides of his arms. Unfortunately, though, these things fall
05:01off frequently. So I'm telling you well in advance, if I start to move the figure
05:05around, you probably will find these things popping off frequently. Technically,
05:09you could remove them if you want to. I mean, now let them be a
05:13struggle. You could remove them. That's basically what they look like. They're
05:16all using, again, that glowing green plastic. A little bit of paint has to be
05:19afforded there as well. Again, you could remove them if you wanted to.
05:23Also because, of course, these things are all universally sized, swapping
05:28around the parts of this, the whole thing I was complaining about earlier because
05:30they include that sheet. Actual fact, you could remove some of these things if you
05:34wanted to. Like the fur cape, for example, in the back, torn and tattered.
05:38It's using a fairly soft plastic. If you don't like that on Skeletor, it's so easy
05:43just to remove it. All you have to really do is take off his helmet first. The
05:46head sculpt and helmet are all one piece. It's an interesting take to Skeletor
05:51because it takes sort of the cues of what Shredder would be, and it makes
05:54Skeletor now sort of a very similar design. I think the helmet works really
05:58well with Skeletor, even if you're not a big fan of collecting the turtles of
06:01Greyskull. Skeletor just has a really neat design going for him. Now again, if
06:05you don't like the cape, the cape is so easy to remove. All you have to do is just
06:08pop the head off, and then this just sits over top of the ball joint, just like
06:12that. So you want to take that off. Essentially, underneath what you have is
06:15just a regular Skeletor, almost very similar Skeletor armor than what the
06:18original version, like version 1, version 2 Skeletor would have had. It looks to be
06:23that they would have retooled the front, so you've got almost like a shuriken
06:26symbol there on the front, and they've of course painted this all nicely in black.
06:29Very, very cool. I'm not sure really if I want to leave the cape off, or I want to
06:33if I want to keep it on. Like, it doesn't really take anything necessarily away
06:36from the front of his armor. It just means though that, you know, on the back
06:39he's gonna just have a cape instead of, you know, if you choose not just to leave
06:41it off. I like the purples. The purples work well. Sorry, sorry, let me get
06:45Skeletor. It's hard to kind of take a man seriously if he's missing his head.
06:48You can quote me on that, by the way. You can see, like, the colors of him again are
06:52a much more purple color, very similar in fact to He-Man, if you like looking at
06:56He-Man. Although He-Man would have used translucent purple plastic, Skeletor is
07:00using the matte variety of that, but it's really cool purple. I really wish it
07:04could be used for future Skeletor figures. Of course, like the armor, the
07:08helmet very much looks like like the 90s Shredder helmet from the movie. If you
07:12also wanted to, you could take the armor off. These just attach. There's a
07:15peg right there. You can see where that fits inside the rectangular space. Just
07:19plug that in place. Some interesting kind of details that they've also added there
07:22as well. It kind of, for a second, kind of looks like Christmas lights. He's got
07:26these chains that go all around the back. It's got some really cool decorative
07:29details also on the back of his helmet there as well. Yeah, it's a really neat
07:33Skeletor. I don't know if there's anything I really would have done
07:36differently to the character. I have seen this guy for a while and finally pulled
07:39the trigger. I was just kind of waiting for the price to drop down on this guy.
07:42If you remove the skirt, by the way, again you just pop the torso armor off.
07:46There we go. You could slide this also off too. I know we're kind of really
07:50stripping down Skeletor to his bare mentionables, but again, if
07:54you want to take off the armor, you could do that. The only thing you can't do is
07:57take off his legs and his gauntlets because those are getting attached to his
08:00body, but I think those look good too as well. You've got some nice little silver
08:03accents there as well. Sorry, let's just put the skirt back on him. Again,
08:10these are so easily mixed and matched. I know that's the whole marketing
08:13sell of the line is the fact that you could change the parts. You
08:16could take the arms off, for example. If you want to mix it around with Shredder,
08:19you could do that also as well. Hey, why not? You could also really use the armor
08:23if you want to display it with Shredder too. The only thing that would be lacking
08:25a little bit is obviously the helmet that would be going along with
08:28Skeletor here, but again, face sculpt looks
08:31fantastic. Again, you're pretty much getting just standard Skeletor body
08:35underneath just with the brand new armor over top and it works
08:38really quite well for the character. Now for the figure's articulation, Skeletor's
08:42head is going to be on a ball joint, so it allows the head to rotate all the way
08:44around. The head looks down and looks up and all the stuff in between. You can
08:48move that back and forth as well. Shoulders come out at 90 degrees. You can
08:52take them and rotate them. The only thing about that though is obviously he's got
08:55the little side pieces for his armor, so you're gonna feel yourself clipping that
08:58along the way. He has a swivel in his forearm that also hinges as well and the
09:02hands do rotate all the way around. Skeletor's waist, like all other figures,
09:05do have a straight swivel. You can split the legs out and they actually cut the
09:09skirting. So the skirting on the side here obviously is separate from the one
09:13that's on the front and on the back to allow Skeletor to actually do a split.
09:16You can take the legs and move forward. You can move them back. There's a little bit of a
09:19swivel there at the top of the thigh. Single-hinged knee rotation there as
09:22well and his monster feet do have peg holes, by the way, by the way, on the
09:26undersides, but he does have an ankle rocker and you can also rock it back and
09:29forth as well, like Skeletor a lot. I don't know why I waited as long as
09:33I did. I know this guy's kind of been around for a bit. At one point, I think he
09:37was available on a site that I was gonna go to. I can't remember now for life me
09:40what the site was. I had kind of said to myself, okay, I'm gonna get the figure. At
09:45one point, Entertainment Earth had him and then they like sold out of him right
09:48away. I checked around a couple of other sites and they were kind of going for
09:51much higher than I was really expecting. This guy was kind of going for like more
09:55$35-$40 and I wasn't really willing to pay that. Finally though, I found this guy
09:59at a decent price. I knew it was right away a figure I wanted to get and
10:02finally having him, he delivers a fantastic-looking Skeletor. Again,
10:07depending on how you want to display this guy, you can have him again with
10:10Krang. We'll bring back in Shredhead. Again, you also can display him as well
10:15with the defeated He-Man. I like the look of the figure. The only thing I don't
10:19really like about him is the fact that these gauntlets fall off frequently. You
10:22know, again, like they're just the way that they are attaching. I mean, there's
10:26like lips on either side, so for all intents and purposes, you would think
10:29that that would just fit around his forearm and stay on his arm, but these
10:32things fall off way too frequently. The only other thing I would say as well, and
10:35Kasaragamas, I want to land at least the proper pronunciation of these
10:40things. They look good, having though the the front of the Havok staff are
10:44interesting touches. I just wish though the chain was longer. If it took this
10:48idea and extended the idea by maybe even just at the very least two extra links,
10:53then Skeletor would be able to handle it in a much more comfortable way. Other
10:57than that though, I really like the look of Skeletor. Happy to finally have this guy
11:00as part of my collection. Yes, it was a weight, but I think the weight was worth
11:04it. Skeletor turned out to be a fantastic incarnation of the character, now decked
11:08out all in green and sporting now some rather interesting looking samurai
11:11armor. The weapon that he wields, again, I'm gonna completely butcher the
11:15Kasaragama. I know, so many people are gonna be typing. Go easy, please.
11:21Thank you. The weapon that he's wielding in one hand works probably better if you
11:26obviously have the other end occupied with a canister of ooze. I think though
11:30the canister would have worked better to having packed with shredder, but the
11:33fact that we actually do get ourselves a canister of ooze, that's not a bad thing
11:36at all. Of course, he does have all the posability where it counts. All the same
11:40posability that you'd expect by now, not only with the Turtles of Greyskull line,
11:44but also going back even further, the Masked Universe Origins line. I would say
11:48this would go pretty high on my list for all-time favorite Skeletors.
11:51What won't be high on that list is Snake Armors. I think that's such a
11:56horrible looking Skeletor. What isn't horrible though is the one that we're
11:59getting from the Turtles of Greyskull line. A little bit more expensive at the
12:03time that I first spotted this guy. Again, it was worth the wait just to kind of
12:06wait it out. Let the waters calm before you decide you want to start
12:10spending money on collectibles. That's what I think at least. So a little late
12:13on the game when it comes to looking at this guy, but hopefully you guys have
12:16enjoyed this review. Like I said, if you guys are interested, the Turtles of Greyskull
12:19Skeletor is available right now through online stores, in stores.
12:24Probably would be your easiest thing, but I mean here in Canada, what am I even
12:28talking about? Why am I even gonna waste my time to talk about it?
12:30Canada's stores don't have anything when it comes to new Motu stuff. That's
12:34Turtles of Greyskull, that's Origins, that's anything. Side rant. If you guys
12:39though, in the meantime, enjoyed this video, please hit it with a like. You guys
12:43want to stick around for more? I hope so. Hit the subscribe, turn on the bell. Yeah
12:47yeah, come back please. As always guys, thanks for watching. See you guys next
12:51time.
12:58you
