For most of the country it will be dry and cloudy in the afternoon with the risk of local showers, particularly in Scotland. However, the southeast of England will see a good amount of sunshine. In the evening the skies clear for most of the country though some cloud and showers remain in northern England and northern Scotland. 00:00Hello. The evenings are starting to cool off, but the days for the next few days will be
00:05quite fine and dry, pretty widely across the UK. That's as high pressure is starting to
00:10build in. It's been a pretty sunny start across much of England and Wales. There'll be more
00:14sunshine through the rest of the day. As I said, high pressure is starting to build in.
00:18It's building in from the south and west, but we've still got low pressure in charge
00:22across the north. That's brought some pretty heavy showers already this morning, and we'll
00:26see more of them across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland in particular through
00:30the rest of the day. They bring a risk of hail, potentially some thunderstorms as well.
00:35There's also a risk of showers pushing into some areas of Northern England, parts of Wales
00:39too, but most areas of England and Wales should stay dry through today, and there will be
00:44plenty of sunshine. Now, it's going to be a cooler day than yesterday, particularly
00:48across England and Wales. Temperatures are a good five or six degrees lower than they
00:51were yesterday. A similar feeling day across more north and western areas, but it will
00:56still feel warm enough in any sheltered sunshine. Temperatures are around average for the time
01:02of year. Now, as I said, it is going to cool off quite quickly through this evening. A
01:05cooler night to come than last night, quite widely clear. Showers becoming much more restricted
01:10to the far north of Scotland, so northern areas of Scotland and the Northern Isles still
01:14seeing a bit of a breeze and a risk of showers overnight. But for many of us, a dry and clear
01:19night to come. We could see some mist and fog developing, particularly for rural areas
01:23of Wales, south-western England by tomorrow morning, particularly also across parts of
01:28the Pennines. And as I said, it is going to be a cold night, particularly for the time
01:32of year. Temperatures could be down as low as three or four degrees rurally in some areas
01:38of north-east England, for example. So, a fresh start to the day. Could be some dew
01:42on the ground, as well as that risk of mist and fog, but it will clear up quite nicely.
01:47There will be plenty of sunshine, particularly through the morning, but lasting through much
01:51of the day. So, a fine day, quite widely, particularly across western areas of Scotland
01:56where we are seeing that unsettled weather today. It is going to be a much better day
01:59tomorrow. But I would like to draw your attention to this area of thunderstorms across northern
02:05areas of the near continent. We will start to see the threat of those thunderstorms and
02:09increased cloud cover pushing in across south-eastern areas as we head into the weekend. But elsewhere,
02:15it should stay fairly dry. So, potentially a bit more hazy sunshine by Friday afternoon
02:20across the south and east. Temperatures climbing to about 24 degrees as a max, but widely we
02:24are into the low 20s across southern areas, high teens across more northern areas. But
02:28we could reach the 20s actually for some parts of Scotland through Friday in some sheltered
02:33areas. As I said, we will start to see that threat ever increasing across southern areas,
02:38just bringing an increased level of cloud at first. But it does look like another fairly
02:42cool and clear night to come on Friday night and into the start of the weekend and in fact
02:48the start of the last day of summer on Saturday as autumn begins on Sunday. Now, if you'd
02:54like any more details on your full weekend forecast, Alex Burghill will have a full forecast
02:58for you later today on YouTube. So, why not check it out? Bye-bye.
