00:00All right, Joe, let's look at some of the odds now.
00:07AL odds first to win the pennant.
00:12You see, I noticed today I saw some power rankings, various outlets.
00:16The Yankees are back on top of baseball, apparently, or so they think.
00:20The people that know.
00:21Do you agree with these pennant odds?
00:25I do.
00:26I'd be worried if I was holding an Orioles ticket right now, Scotty, because I think
00:31those injuries and that lack of a starting pitching staff is going to come back to haunt
00:35them.
00:37But I do agree that the Yankees, at this point, from what we've seen, especially since the
00:41All-Star break, they should be the favorites.
00:44I think the Guardians are running out of steam.
00:46And once again, the only team that you got to worry about, as far as I'm concerned, is
00:51the Astros.
00:52Here they go again.
00:53Yeah, I agree.
00:56I mean, I've been on the Astros to win that West, and their lead's up to four and a half.
01:00And then as far as, you know, frankly, the wild cards of teams that I wouldn't want to
01:06play, Kansas City would be one of them with your boy Bobby Wood Jr.
01:10And they're pitching.
01:11I mean, if it wasn't for Judge and Otani, we'd be talking a lot about Bobby Wood Jr.
01:17He's hitting .350, he's going to have 30 home runs, he's going to steal 30 bases.
01:22I mean, this kid is an old-school baseball player, Scottie.
01:26They don't make them like Bobby Wood Jr. anymore.
01:29It's kind of refreshing to see, it really is.
01:31All right, let's look at the National League pennant odds.
01:34A lot of people thought it was automatically the Dodgers, then everybody said, oh, look
01:39at the Phillies, how good they are.
01:40Now it's the Phillies.
01:41Now we're back to the Dodgers, who have the best record in the National League.
01:47This is where the money's at, Scottie.
01:49Because anyone except for the Braves, on that list there, Padres, Brewers, Diamondbacks,
01:56all of these, that's where the money's at, I think.
01:59I think it's going to be very chalky in the American League.
02:01Listen, would you be shocked if the Diamondbacks are going back to the World Series?
02:06Because I sure as heck wouldn't at this point.
02:08No, I wouldn't, and I'll tell you another thing.
02:11That Padre team, with their bullpen and with their bats and with their defense, they mean
02:17business.
02:19They may have been winning as much as Arizona has.
02:21Those two teams, I don't want to be a part of facing either one of them.
02:26Yep.
02:27And Tatis is coming back.
02:28So now they're getting another bat coming back, and Darvish is throwing.
02:33That's a very, very scary team.
02:35That and Arizona, I wouldn't automatically think, just hand it to the Dodgers.
02:39I'm not buying that, Scottie.
02:40All right, let's look at the World Series odds now.
02:45These are the latest odds for the World Series.
02:47Look at that.
02:48Ooh.
02:49Still, look at they're putting both of those NL teams in front of the Yankees.
02:53Yeah, I'm not buying.
02:55No, not going to happen.
02:57I think the Phillies are running out of gas.
02:59I do think also, I think the American League wins it, Scottie, but I do think, once again,
03:06the money is going to come from the National League.
03:09If you think the Padres of Arizona are dark horses, there you go.
03:13That's a pretty decent prize for a World Series.
03:15If they're, what, with three weeks left in the regular season, that's a pretty good number.
03:19How about like last year when it was the Diamondbacks and Rangers, and the price is that you got
03:24on those teams, no one thought either one of them would be there.
03:27Why not the same thing again here with these types of odds?
03:30You can make a fortune.
03:32Yep.
03:33I think American League will ultimately be chalky, but I think your National League rep
03:38in the World Series is where the money's at, because I don't think the top half of that
03:43board, the Phillies, the Dodgers, I'm not buying them to be able to sweep and head to
03:48the World Series.
03:49All right.
03:50So that was the odds for the World Series.
03:52What about the World Series betting?
03:54These are most bet teams to win the series right here.
04:01What do you think?
04:02Phillies, Dodgers, again, on top, Yankees at 10%, roughly.
04:07I look at the Padres at seven, D-backs at five, look at the Astros and Guardians, even
04:12the Royals.
04:13Yeah.
04:14Again, a lot of money, look at the Yankees.
04:17They're not at the top of the board.
04:18The Phillies and the Dodgers are, and that was, I think, because of the Phillies' start
04:22to the season, Scottie, in the first half with how they were just bulldozing everyone.
04:27They've come back down to reality.
04:29The Dodgers are always overvalued, but as the third, the third most bet, the Yankees,
04:36that would be my first choice, followed by either the Padres or the Diamondbacks.
04:41All right.
04:41Let's go to tonight's action under the lights across the majors.
04:46We'll start with the Cubs and Pirates at PNC.
04:49A good one, Jamison shots of Tyone against Helen Keller at the Allegheny River there
04:58at PNC.
04:59Great matchup, I think, tonight between these two good pitchers.
05:03Yeah.
05:05I like Keller a lot, Scottie.
05:06I think he started slow this year.
05:09He's come around, and the Pirates are still a little feisty, aren't they?
05:13I think there's also going to be some runs in this game, so I did look at the over in
05:17this one, Scottie.
05:19I don't trust either bullpen, quite honestly.
05:22Listen, their season ended in a 10-game losing streak.
05:25They're not getting a wild card.
05:27They're finished, but at least they show up.
05:31Yesterday, they walked off on the Reds, not quitting.
05:35They're balling out.
05:36They're playing.
05:37All right.
05:37The next game, game two, Kansas City and Cleveland.
05:41Game one, we told you, Kansas City already won that one today, 4-3 in Cleveland.
05:45Game two, Marsh against Allen.
05:48Allen's 8-4.
05:50I actually, this morning, this thing was, literally, he was a dog, minus 105 this morning.
05:57Now, he's up to, at least, I'm seeing in a lot of places, minus a buck and a quarter.
06:03He's favored now.
06:05Yeah.
06:05Well, hurry up, because we're not as worked, Scottie.
06:08Usually, always, we look for a split in these doubleheaders, which is why a lot of people
06:14wait to bet the second game.
06:16I'm with you.
06:17I think, hurry up and bet the Guardians to bounce back with a win here in this second
06:22game at home.
06:24Houston and Philly at the bank, Blanco and Wheeler.
06:27Philly's almost two bills.
06:30You know, I got to tell you, Blanco's tough.
06:32The Astros are tough.
06:34They win.
06:35And what do you think of their chances tonight at that price?
06:38A buck 62 or more to take Blanco in for Philadelphia.
06:43Any chance of that happening?
06:45Why not?
06:45The Astros can beat anybody.
06:48They absolutely can, Scottie.
06:50Or, listen, I mean, take the run and a half.
06:54I do think the over is probably not a bad bet.
06:57But the Phillies, listen, they were supposed to go with Wheeler yesterday.
07:00They gave him an extra day's rest so he would start this game.
07:05He's also 5-0 in his last five home starts in Philadelphia.
07:09They were in Kansas City yesterday.
07:11I get Philly being the favorite, but I do think some runs are coming in this game.
07:15All right.
07:16How about Nasty Nester and the Yankees in D.C. against Parker and the Nats?
07:23And you see the numbers.
07:24Yankees, heavy favorites here on the road in our nation's capital.
07:29Yeah, Nasty Nester has grown a third chin just while we're talking here, Scottie.
07:36Hasn't missed a whole lot of meals, apparently.
07:38He also can't pitch on the road.
07:40And that's another concern here.
07:42Yankees don't hit lefties very well.
07:45Having said that, I do think runs are coming.
07:47So I'm going to go ahead and take the over again in this one.
07:50All right.
07:51Game two, Toronto and Boston.
07:53Burrios and Criswell at Fenway at 7-10.
07:58Boston favorite.
07:59I'm seeing minus about 40.
08:01Yeah, and I like Boston.
08:03I took him in the first five, Scottie.
08:05Burrios has been absolutely studly his last month, month and a half worth of starts.
08:13You can tell the Blue Jays are a better hitting team.
08:15They also have the best record with the Yankees since the all-star break.
08:19If it ain't broke, I ain't fixing it, Scottie.
08:20Give me Toronto.
08:22So Atlanta, Minnesota at target.
08:24What a game tonight.
08:25Freed and your boy Ober.
08:29And I got to tell you, Ober literally has had 11 consecutive good starts.
08:35I know he lost his last time out, but he still pitched well.
08:39The guy, they didn't score any runs, but he pitched deep into the game.
08:43The guy's been going, you know, six, seven innings every time he pitches.
08:47And he's literally been phenomenal for the twins.
08:52Seven and three at home in his starts this year.
08:56The twins are 2.78 ERA.
08:59And I am with you, Scottie.
09:00I've looked for spots to back him as he flew under the radar here.
09:05I love it.
09:06I believe six straight now with a plus 25 run differential when he pitches.
09:12This team scores runs for him.
09:14In the meantime, Max Freed has not been great
09:17since coming back off that little stint on the IL here.
09:22Call me crazy.
09:23I like the twins.
09:24I like their lineup much better than what Atlanta's rolling out right now.
09:29I think they're in a battle now that Cleveland just lost game one.
09:33This is a big game for Minnesota.
09:35I like them to get it done here.
09:37Yeah, I bet it this morning.
09:38And while I was at it, I bet San Diego to start that series in Bush.
09:44Believe it or not, I didn't care about Vasquez and Gibson, to be honest with you.
09:50All I cared about was how great I think San Diego's bats are in defense.
09:55Like I said, you can't deny their ability to have big hits, big homers,
10:01walkoffs, wins, diving, Merrill making diving catches in centerfield.
10:07I think that team, you know, I think their defense is phenomenal beyond Merrill.
10:13I think, you know, Machado, etc.
10:16They're tough as hell.
10:17I think they can go into Bush and win the series, win this game.
10:21I think they can, too.
10:22They've been proven to be pretty decent on the road here.
10:26I am not a big Gibson fan.
10:29I do think that the Padres should be able to get it done.
10:32And I don't mind the over either, Scotty,
10:35because I do think they're going to score some runs here tonight, the Padres.
10:40I guess the Tigers are going with a rookie Madden
10:44to face the lowly White Sox on the south side of Chicago tonight.
10:49Detroit, I'm seeing minus $1.55 at least.
10:52You see there, minus $1.42, whatever you can get it at.
10:56Are you on Detroit here to continue the White Sox misery?
11:01Yes, and I don't care that.
11:04They could throw you and I out there tonight to pitch against
11:07this atrocious Chicago White Sox team.
11:09It doesn't make a difference.
11:10I'm going to lay the run and a half with them here, Scotty, too.
11:14Tigers are 8-1 against them here on the season with a plus 26 run differential.
11:20I think that continues here tonight.
11:23I'll back the Tigers.
11:24So I have a theory that every team that goes into Coors loses the first game,
11:30no matter what, even though the Rockies are hair dryer city as well.
11:34How many teams have you seen go in there?
11:36Like San Diego went in there, whatever, last week, first game they lost.
11:42I don't know what it is.
11:43It's a black hole.
11:44You go in there on the road, fly into Denver, play in the thin air.
11:47Of course, you lose.
11:48I think Miami will go lose that game tonight in Colorado.
11:52I agree with you because, listen, the Rockies, everyone knows they can't win on the road
11:59and they are very competitive at home here.
12:02Don't love the spot for the Marlins.
12:04I'm with you.
12:05I think the Rockies get it done in this first game of the series of, you know,
12:09two franchises going nowhere.
12:12So Tampa's at Seattle.
12:14And I got to tell you, I've made money with Bryce Miller, Seattle's pitcher.
12:20He's going tonight at home.
12:22And, oh, Tampa's tougher than people give him credit for.
12:25Pepeo's going for them.
12:26He's been tough too.
12:27It's a tough game to gauge, but I like Miller at home.
12:32Yeah, I agree.
12:34I got the better bullpen in the Mariners.
12:35I do think they kind of turned the page on the season when they fired their coach earlier.
12:42But I think they have an advantage here in that ballpark.
12:45And call me crazy.
12:47The total is now six and a half, Scott.
12:50I'm going to go over.
12:51I think by accident, they can probably score seven runs in this game.
