00:00Before I get to tonight's games, and obviously we have a very big slate for tonight, the
00:08MLB did put out their postseason schedule October the 1st, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd is when
00:15they will have the wildcard rounds.
00:16That is a Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday going right there.
00:21You have the ALDS, ALCS, and then the World Series is currently scheduled the 25th through
00:26November the 2nd.
00:27But they do have in there, Scotty, for the first time ever, because this has come up
00:31a lot recently, if both the championship series are short, as in sweeps, 5 games, they will
00:38move it up.
00:39They will not make the team sit around for a week waiting to start the World Series.
00:43They will move the series up if they have to, if they both go short.
00:47So that's a nice change from the past, because we hate sitting around for a week.
00:50We forget about it.
00:51So that's nice.
00:52Yeah, well, they'll get it in before November 2nd, allegedly, and, you know, they've done
01:00that before.
01:01It's not like they haven't scraped November before.
01:03I like October baseball playoffs.
01:07Mr. November.
01:08Sometimes they got to squeak in there.
01:10Listen, we'll take November 1st and 2nd if there's a game six and seven in the World
01:14Series.
01:15We got no problem with that whatsoever.
01:18Couple of other things.
01:19Freddie Freeman, of course, has been away from the Dodgers, Scotty, for really about
01:23the past week, week and a half now.
01:25He has not been with the team.
01:27Him and his family.
01:28His three-year-old son has Guillain-Barre disease.
01:31So he's been working with that.
01:34Hopefully things are going well.
01:35I know they said Freddie's gonna be back with the team soon.
01:38So tough situation for the Freeman family.
01:40My buddy had that.
01:41Yes.
01:42And Amavi remembers.
01:43Our friend had it.
01:44It was bad.
01:45It like, you know, at some level ruined his life for a couple of years.
01:50He got struck with that Guillain-Barre syndrome.
01:53It's no joke.
01:55No joke, indeed.
01:56And the bookmaker who was involved in that Otani's ex-interpreter, Ipe, pleads guilty
02:02to that case.
02:04So that bookmaker, which is really what started it all, right?
02:07The bookmakers, the one that kind of said that he was signing all that money over to
02:13the Otani's interpreter.
02:16He's gonna plead guilty into the cell, into the tin he goes, Scotty, going forward.
02:21All right, let's get to tonight.
02:23We have a full slate and every person needs a good bookie.
02:27That's true.
02:29We start with a big one.
02:30You doesn't get much bigger than this.
02:33And that is the Diamondbacks and the Pirates at PNC this weekend.
02:37Of course, both teams very much in the mix in the NL wildcard race.
02:43Of course, they played last weekend in Arizona.
02:46We're going to get Louie Ortiz and Brandon Fott going tonight.
02:50As of right now, Scotty, let me punch back up the Diamondbacks for a moment.
02:55Minus 140 road favorite for Arizona, plus a buck 20 for the Buccos and an eight and
03:00a half.
03:01You know, I'm worried about the Diamondbacks because they're playing great baseball.
03:07In July, they won 17 of their last 25 games.
03:11They closed the month with a sweep of the Nationals.
03:16Then they, what, beat the Pirates in two out of three in the desert.
03:21So they didn't seem to have any problem with the Pirates.
03:25I like Ortiz and his chances tonight at PNC.
03:29I just think the Diamondbacks are too hot right now, Mike.
03:32I think Arizona goes in and beats the Pirates.
03:35I know Skeens is pitching on Sunday, Scotty, against Arizona.
03:39A little Sunday afternoon for Skeens out at PNC.
03:42So if they can maybe get tonight or tomorrow, Skeens, give them a chance to win the series
03:47on Sunday.
03:48They can get one of these games.
03:50That would be good for them.
03:51Royals and the Tigers again in Detroit, a big time pitching matchup tonight.
03:56Cole Reagans and Tariq Scouble.
03:59Minus 120 for the Tigers.
04:01Even money for Kansas City.
04:02A flat seven.
04:04I've even seen some six and a halves for these two floating around.
04:08Well, I mean, they both have low ERAs.
04:12We already know how good Scouble's been.
04:14He's 12 and 3.
04:15He's in the lead for Desai Young.
04:16And I don't think that price is that bad to take him tonight at minus about 20 or if he
04:21can get it a little better than that against the Royals.
04:24I think Scouble does his trick tonight.
04:27Brewers are in D.C. against the Nationals.
04:30Frankie Montas makes his first start for Milwaukee after coming over from Cincinnati.
04:35Jake Irvin will go for the Nats.
04:38Minus a buck 20 for the Brewers.
04:41Even money for the Nats and a flat nine.
04:44Yeah, like I'm not like overwhelmed at all by Frankie Montas.
04:50We've already been down this road before, haven't we?
04:53Like I'm not scared of him.
04:55I think Irvin can beat him tonight in D.C.
04:56I think the Nats are so up and down, you don't know whether they're coming or going.
05:00But of all guys, he's been their best pitcher, Irvin, right?
05:05He's eight and eight.
05:06He's got a three four ERA.
05:08He's he does the most work.
05:10One hundred twenty eight innings, one hundred eleven strikeouts.
05:12I got to go take a shot with him tonight over Montas.
05:16I think the Brewers are better, but I'm not a Montas guy.
05:21No, neither am I.
05:23It is. This is my favorite over the night.
05:25Gas can night in Cleveland between the Orioles and the Guardians.
05:30The dean, Dean Kramer against Carlos Carrasco tonight.
05:34Minus one fifteen for the Orioles.
05:36Minus one oh five for Cleveland and a flat nine up, up, up and away for me.
05:42Fair enough on that, and I like that.
05:44But look to me, the Orioles have slipped back.
05:48The Yankees have tied him again for the East lead
05:52because they're not playing good baseball.
05:54And I'll take the Guardians at home again.
05:57And if it's a straight pick them, why not?
05:59Give me that Cleveland Guardian team in their stadium with Jay Ram and company.
06:05And I'll take Carrasco over Kramer.
06:07I think they've both been very porous pitching, giving up tons of runs.
06:11So I'll take a team that's winning over a team that isn't every day.
06:16Yep, going to be a good spot for taters tonight in Cleveland as well.
06:21Speaking of the Yankees, as you mentioned now, even with the Orioles and the A.L.
06:25East, they will be at home this weekend for the Blue Jays in the Bronx.
06:29Marcus Stroman and Kevin Gossman gets things going tonight.
06:33Yankees right now at home, minus a buck.
06:35Sixty five plus one thirty five for the Jays and another flat nine.
06:42I'm run line in the Yankees, they're on fire right now.
06:45They've won five in a row.
06:46I can get plus one twenty two if they hit it.
06:49So I'll go Stroman, the showman, run line it, lay it.
06:54Giants and the Reds in Cincinnati, where you're going to have now Kyle Harrison for
07:00tonight for the Giants, Scottie, Andrew Abbott for the Reds as of right now,
07:05although one other side has Snell tonight for the Giants.
07:08I'm going to have to double check that.
07:09I see two different pitchers in two different spots.
07:11Minus one thirty five for the Giants, plus a buck.
07:14Fifteen for Cincinnati and a flat nine.
07:18Well, I think the reason it's
07:20Snell is because they're favored on the road.
07:24And he struck out 15 his last outing.
07:27Right. So everybody thinks he's back
07:31to his dominant self.
07:33And I think that's why that price is where it's at.
07:36So I'd actually bet him tonight over Abbott and Costello at Great American.
07:41Yeah, Abbott and Costello has not been very good, Scottie, that's for sure.
07:45I've now checked three places and two of them have Snell.
07:48One of them have Harrison.
07:49So tie goes to the two, Scottie.
07:52We'll go with Snell for the Giants.
07:54I don't think Abbott's been that bad.
07:56He's nine and seven.
07:57He's got a three three eighty R.A.
07:58He's he's been decent for them.
08:00And I just if it's Snell, I think Snell's better.
08:05We'll slide one more in here.
08:06Marlins and the Braves again in Atlanta.
08:09Bellozo going for Miami tonight.
08:11Spencer Schwellenbach for the Braves, who are minus two fifty
08:15plus one ninety five for the Fish and a flat nine.
08:18I run lined it this morning and bet it I had it at
08:23minus the run and a half at minus one fifteen.
08:25I think it's moved to one twenty now getting a little juicy,
08:28but I still like the Braves to kick the Marlins ass.
08:31I got a couple others when we come back.
08:33The late night games.
08:34You've got Chicago going for
08:37try to end that long losing streak in Minnesota.
08:40Never. We have all.
08:42So Germany's still up 20 on France with a minute left in the third.
08:47I don't see how they make up the difference, to be honest with you.
08:51We're talking about tonight's baseball games on the table.
08:57We certainly are.
08:58The Red Sox go to Arlington for the weekend against the Rangers.
09:02Cutter Crawford goes for the Sox tonight.
09:04Jose Urena goes for Texas.
09:07Pick them right now.
09:08Minus one ten both sides at a flat nine.
09:10Lots of big totals tonight.
09:14Yeah, I'll tell you what, this is a tough game.
09:17I'm going to go Texas at home at that price at Globe with Urena.
09:24The White Sox are going to look to break their 17 game losing streak
09:30against the twins in Minneapolis, and the Davis
09:33Martin will be the starter to try do it.
09:36Joe, don't call me Jack Ryan for the twins who are minus three bills,
09:41minus three hundred plus 240 for Chicago and an eight and a half.
09:49You know, there's definitely no way to bet it on the money line or run line.
09:52They both are terrible odds.
09:54It's just awful.
09:56I'd say the only thing to do is that eight and a half.
09:59And I got to be honest with you, I think Ryan and Martin keep it under.
10:04Very possible.
10:05Look, I think it's at that price, it's it's White Sox or nothing, right?
10:10White Sox, if you wanted to.
10:12They're going to win.
10:12You know, they're not going to you're going to win one of these nights.
10:15And the price keeps getting bigger and bigger.
10:17Plus 240 plus 250.
10:19Plus, you know, they're going to hit one of these nights and get themselves a win.
10:24Not going to lose forever.
10:25The Rays are in Houston against the Astros.
10:28A Kikuchi will be making his debut for the Astros.
10:33Shane Bosco's for the Rays.
10:35Minus 155 for the Strohs, plus a buck 30 for Tampa and a seven and a half.
10:42You know, they're talking about how they're going to roll out
10:45their revamped pitching staff starting tonight with Kikuchi, their newest
10:49acquisition, and I got to be honest with you, I never thought he was that good
10:54to begin with in Toronto, and I'm not afraid of him.
10:58And I'm going to take the Rays at Minute Maid to upset them and beat them.
11:02The Pirates just kicked their ass.
11:05Why not Tampa?
11:06I mean, honestly, like Kikuchi doesn't put fear in me at all.
11:10I think he's been average.
11:12I agree.
11:13I don't know. I don't get all the I can't believe how much they gave up for him, too.
11:17I don't get the hype with Kikuchi.
11:18We have another debut tonight in Anaheim as the Mets will get our boy
11:23Blackburn the pirate out there.
11:24Paul Blackburn will go against the Angels.
11:27Tyler Anderson goes for Anaheim.
11:30Mets minus 145 plus 120 for the Angels and another flat nine.
11:36Well, I'm on Blackburn, the pirate, and I'm going to run line the Mets here
11:41and I can get it at plus 115 if they can hit it.
11:45The Angels are awful and the Mets, I think, just have too much
11:49too much defense, too many bats.
11:53And I think Blackburn can pitch.
11:55Well, I think he's decent.
11:57So I think he goes in there and they beat their ass.
12:00Rockies are in San Diego at Petco getting that soft serve ice cream.
12:05Austin Gomber and Randy Vasquez tonight minus 185 for the Padres,
12:10plus a buck 50 for Colorado and a flat eight.
12:14Yeah, I like the Padres on the run line here at plus 110 if it hits.
12:20And I like the over eight and a half.
12:22Both of these guys give up around four or five runs a game every time they pitch.
12:26So I think it goes over that number.
12:30Dodgers and the A's at the dump in Oakland,
12:34Gavin Stone and Joey Estes, the pitching matchup minus 155
12:38for L.A., plus a buck 25 for the A's and an eight and a half.
12:45Yeah, I think Stone beats Estes Park, Colorado here at the ashtray.
12:49I think the Dodgers go in there and handle their business.
12:53And so that price, I don't like that buck and a half.
12:56So I'm going to run line this as well.
12:58And I did bet it this morning.
13:00I run line did it plus 115.
13:03There you go.
13:04And finally, lots of late night action tonight, which I always love.
13:08The Phillies head to the Pacific Northwest to see the Mariners.
13:12The Phillies, of course, they have been struggling mightily since the All-Star
13:16break. Tyler Phillips goes for them tonight.
13:20Brian Wu goes for the Mariners, minus 110 both ways.
13:24Pick them here in a flat eight.
13:26Give me Wu Tang Clan and the M's in Seattle.
13:29Those Phillies have been playing terrible of late.
13:33Four and eleven in their last 15 games got swept by the Yankees,
13:37got their ass beat and everything.
13:39Blowout games, extra hitting games.
13:42They're just not hitting.
13:43They're not winning.
13:44They're not scoring runs.
13:45Give me the M's in Seattle at that price.
13:49Wow. How about that?
13:51Getting involved with the Mariners.
13:53There you go.
13:53That is your night in baseball.
