00:00We are in Chicago. We're in Illinois. Roll call is underway, but outside, violence erupting,
00:06a group of protesters have gathered. We're going to take you live in the ground in just a moment.
00:11First, in case you missed it, a quick recap. Biden actually kicked off today's events
00:15after midnight this morning. Now, just a few short weeks after getting kicked to the curb
00:21by Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Barack Obama, and other Democratic elites, and of course,
00:26disenfranchising their own voters, party leaders also bumped the president out of prime time,
00:32big time. They forced Joe to stay up way past his bedtime to deliver what was, frankly,
00:37a humiliating farewell that he shouted at the entire crowd, pretty much. Luckily, Joe had
00:43plenty of caffeine or Red Bull or whatever, and, well, gave one more jacked up Joe appearance
00:50and performance full of his greatest hits and favorite lies. Few Americans actually saw this
00:56speech, though, which ended very, very late, and Joe was bumped by several no-name Democrats.
01:01Let's see, Jamie Raskin, Chris Coons, Kentucky's idiotic governor, who we'll talk about later,
01:08Andy Beshear, Governor Beshear calling on Americans to treat each other with respect,
01:13and then he goes on MSDNC and openly wishing that a member of J.D. Vance's family would get
01:18raped. All told, today's speakers mentioned Trump yesterday 147 times. So, ask yourself,
01:26take a guess, how many times did they mention the border last night? Eight. How many times
01:32did they mention crime that is plaguing small towns and big cities? Six times. How many times
01:37did they mention inflation that every American is feeling every time they gas up or when every
01:42time they go to any store, everything they buy in every store costing more? Yeah, they only mentioned
01:47that three times. In other words, instead of the politics of joy that you were promised,
01:52the convention has been full of a lot of hate, a lot of rage. You see it now developing. We have
01:56a conflict emerging in downtown Chicago with the radical base that Kamala needs to win
02:03and bashing Trump, and that's about it. All right, let's go to Mike Tobin. He is with the protesters
02:08on the streets of Chicago. Mike, what I saw was confrontation earlier. I'm not sure if that was
02:15exactly where you were. And the confrontation looks like it's really set to flare here on
02:22Madison Street. We're in front of the Ogilvy Transportation Center, and that's where the
02:26Israeli consulate is located. Now, on the street here on Madison, you have this group they call
02:30themselves Behind Enemy Lines. They had their planned demonstration earlier today. They came
02:35out on the street, and frankly, the police and media outnumbered the demonstrators. And the
02:40initial conflict, I got to tell you, was really contrived, very deliberate. They put their banner
02:45in front of themselves and marched directly into the police line, and I should say aggressively
02:50into the police line. That caused the first conflict, a flurry of arrests. I saw personally
02:56about four arrests. There's probably going to be more when the smoke clears. Now you see the line
03:01of police, the blue helmets, the different police, some of them with the yellow vests behind them.
03:05If you'll notice, you have some Israeli flags, and you have American flags combined with Israeli
03:10flags. That's some of what was burned on the street. Now just a few moments ago, in fact,
03:15about four minutes ago, one of the white shirts got out there with a loudspeaker and gave the
03:21order to disperse. They said this is now an illegal assembly, and you see the conflict set
03:26to take place right here on Madison Street in front of the Ogilvy Transportation Center.
03:31What Ogilvy is, that's where most people commute to and from the city when they're coming,
03:36particularly from the Northwest. Mike, I'm going to go to Minnesota in the roll call where
03:41we're going to hear from Minnesota, and then later Newsom, first Minnesota, then California,
03:46and you can see the excitement. But we have a very different story unfolding here in Chicago
03:53tonight. We're going to go back to Mike Tobin, who pointed out, until we had to interrupt his report,
03:59about what was a contrived planned attack almost, it seems like, sounds like, against
04:05aggressive attack against police officers. Mike, let's go back to you, and let's get the very
04:10latest on the ground there. You believe that this was a coordinated planned attack against the
04:15police? It was certainly very deliberate. It was rather trite, frankly, the way they put the
04:22banners in front of themselves and marched aggressively into the line of police. Clearly,
04:27they wanted a conflict. In fact, the slogan for the demonstration tonight is,
04:30make it great like 68. So clearly, they're referencing back to the riots of 1968 with
04:36the Democratic Convention then. They wanted a conflict. It looks like they're going to get it.
04:41You can see all the police officers that are lined up. You can see the demonstrators in the
04:44middle of Madison Street here. What's probably hard for you to see is off in the distance
04:48is another row of police officers with riot gear. So they've already been given the order to
04:54disperse. They're still in the street. They're still doing their chanting. And at some point,
04:59the order's going to be given, if they don't just disperse on their own, to go ahead and
05:04clear out the street. What we saw yesterday was an effort by the police to clear out the park
05:11anyway, as gently as possible. They used force. They were very deliberate. But they just pushed
05:16people and got the park clear out, and they got that fence up that you saw breached yesterday.
05:20Mike, we're going to go back to you throughout the night. Kamala Harris now just over the top,
05:26the official nominee of the Democratic Party, along with Tim Walz. Let's listen to her remarks.
05:31We're believing in what we can do together. We are so honored to be your nominees.
05:38This is a people-powered campaign, and together, we will chart a new way forward.
05:46A future for freedom, opportunity of optimism and faith. So to everyone in Chicago and across
05:59America, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And you're going to hear from our wonderful
06:08second gentleman shortly. I'll see you in two days, Chicago.
06:17Now it's in the books, and that's Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party nominee,
06:23as well as Tim Walz. And anyway, joining us now, we're going to go back to Mike Tobin. You can see
06:30we've had a confrontation between demonstrators and even rioters, as some of them, going after
06:38the police, seemingly planned according to our own Mike Tobin. But we have a lot going on outside.
06:44We're going to keep that up on the screen and watch. They've been asked to disperse. That is
06:48yet to happen. Anyway, in the meantime, joining us is Senator Ted Cruz from the great state of
06:54Texas. Senator, great to have you. We appreciate it. And we wish you were actually here with us.
07:03Well, Sean, it's great to be with you. I'll tell you, I'm glad I'm not in Chicago. We're
07:08seeing the images you're showing, the images of angry protesters, of violent pro-Hamas,
07:16anti-Semitic, anti-Israel, Marxist, America-hating radicals. And that's just the delegates in the
07:23convention, not even the protesters outside. It is a scary and it is a frightening,
07:31frightening thing that we're watching. And I got to say, the most ominous words I heard just a
07:36minute ago, it was Gavin Newsom saying that what happens in California is the future. I pray to
07:43God that's not right because California is so much on the wrong track. And the Democrats are
07:48promising to bring the same chaos, the same crime, the same misery, the same people fleeing California
07:55because they cannot make ends meet. That's what the Democrats are promising to bring to the whole
08:00country. You know, we watch this and I've been kind of on the same page as Newt Gingrich
08:07as it relates to, you know, if this becomes an issue-oriented campaign, if it becomes about,
08:14let's decriminalize the illegal immigration, for example, an issue that you've been facing
08:17down in Texas in a big way, if it becomes about free housing and health care and education and
08:25free college education, according to Tim Walz, for illegal immigrants, if it becomes about law
08:30and order, we've gone over extensively their record as it relates to what happened in the
08:35summer of 2020 and the rioting in Minneapolis and also all across the country. And Kamala Harris,
08:40you know, her support of those that were rioting. If it comes about inflation in the economy and
08:46Americans here that she wants, would blow up the filibuster and pass the Green New Deal,
08:5493 trillion dollars. That's not capitalism any longer, which is the greatest wealth-producing
09:00system ever. By the way, I see the police now seem to be moving towards the protesters as this
09:04confrontation is about to maybe hit a head. We're going to keep our eye on it. If it becomes about
09:10those issues, energy, no fracking, no drilling, if it becomes about foreign policy, I think that
09:17this country would move in a very different direction. But 70 to 80 percent of these
09:21things that they stand for, most Americans don't know about yet, Senator. How do you bypass that?
09:28Well, Sean, you're exactly right. This election has to be about the issues. And if it's about
09:32the issues, we win. If it's about the disaster of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, the failures of
09:38their policy agenda, we win. If it's about inflation that is hurting working families
09:43across this country, we win. If it's about the chaos at the southern border, the worst illegal
09:48immigration in our nation's history, 11 and a half million illegal immigrants, if that's what
09:52this race is about, we win. If it's about the disaster of foreign policy, the Democrats
09:58abandoning Israel, the Democrats giving $100 billion to Iran as they fund anti-Israel,
10:04anti-American terrorists, if that's what it's about, we win. And that's why the Democrats don't
10:09want to talk about any of that. They're counting on the press just to paint Kamala Harris as,
10:15to turn her into a modern day saint. It's why they don't let her talk. It's why she doesn't
10:20do media interviews. It's why she doesn't answer questions. It's why she just reads
10:24from a teleprompter because they want to make this all a warm, fuzzy, happy days are here again
10:30election. And they also want to argue as they're convinced that Donald Trump is the devil.
10:35They don't want to talk about the success of the record of President Trump, of the record
10:40low unemployment, of the safety of the secure border, of the peace and prosperity of the
10:45Abraham Accords, peace breaking out across the world. They don't want to talk about any of that.
10:50They just want to demonize and distract. And we've got just over 80 days to make sure the
10:56American people are focused on the real issues that impact families in Texas and impact families
11:00all across the country. What do you make of what's happening? For example, in the summer of 2020,
11:07they had to support those people that were rioting because that was a big part of their base. Now
11:11they're dealing with, you know, we see it in the streets tonight in a confrontation with police
11:16tonight. They're dealing with probably the same radical base, but they don't want to alienate
11:22them. They want their votes. And so that will put them in a position to do what? What, to just ignore
11:29it and tell us like the 574 riots that killed dozens of Americans and injured thousands of
11:35cops and created hundreds of billions in property damage were mostly peaceful? Is that what they're
11:39going to tell us? Look, I think that's exactly what they're going to tell us. We all remember
11:46when CNN reported with a building that was lit up in flames and they described it as a mostly
11:51peaceful protest. The media is the the. Senator, if I may interrupt you for one second. They're committed to lying.
11:58Yeah. Let's just dip in real quick. Chuck Schumer is on stage. One of the I guess one of the people
12:06responsible for pushing out Joe Biden. Let's just listen in briefly. Friends, we're here to talk
12:12about one thing tomorrow and building a better tomorrow for all Americans. This November,
12:22we can choose a brighter, a fairer, a freer future, or we can relive the dark night
12:31of Trump's American carnage. Only one candidate will move America forward. Kamala Harris.
12:43All right, Senator Schumer, the majority leader in the U.S. Senate.
12:47Senator Cruz, let me give you the opportunity to give you the last word here.
12:53Look, this is the radical Democrat Party. Kamala Harris is the most radical presidential nominee
12:59in our nation's history with a major party. Tim Walz is the most radical vice presidential nominee.
13:04By the way, my Democrat opponent, Colin Allred, agrees with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz
13:09on absolutely everything. He's up in Chicago celebrating their open border, their disastrous
13:14campaigns. My opponent's doing the same thing as Kamala Harris, hiding in the basement,
13:18not answering questions, but raising millions and millions of dollars because Chuck Schumer,
13:23the man speaking, has made clear I'm his number one target in the country. And Schumer and Soros
13:28are spending millions trying to beat me here in Texas. So I want to encourage folks listening,
13:33come to our website. It's TedCruz.org. Come and contribute. Help us stand and fight to defend
13:39Texas and defend this country because the forces that want to turn America into California,
13:46they are flooding Texas with cash. I need your help. I need you to come to TedCruz.org.
13:51Give 25, 50, 100 bucks. Stand up and fight. Stand up and fight to support Donald Trump.
13:57Stand up and fight to support me. And let's save this country. Let's pull it back
14:01from these radicals and Marxists who are trying to destroy the country we love so much.
14:06All right, Senator Cruz, thank you for joining us. It does look like there is a little bit of
14:10a retreat from some of these protesters, but you can see the police line is still holding.
14:14Joining us now with reaction to all of this and all that you've heard so far from the DNC,
14:19Eric Trump is with us. I'm not sure if I was you or your father or, frankly, anybody in your family
14:27would be that interested in watching a lot of what's going on here, but
14:30I'm sure there's probably some interest on your part. I want to get your reaction.
14:36You know, Sean, Laura turned to me last night and she goes, I've never seen a production that's as
14:40dark as this. And your split screen right now, I mean, it says it all. It tells the full story.
14:46Look at that. Look at those riots. Look what they're doing to cops. Literally, they had
14:50images of people coming up and spitting on cops, cursing at cops, calling them pigs.
14:56This is the modern day Democratic Party. You went back to Milwaukee. Look at the convention that we
15:00had. We didn't have anything other than love. We had American flags. We had people, you know,
15:05we're singing God bless America. We had people who had tears in their eyes when my father came
15:10out. They love this country. They love our nation. They love our Constitution. They love
15:14everything that makes America great. And then look at the parallel that you're seeing right
15:18up there in the streets. There's disorder. I mean, this isn't America. We're so much better than this.
15:24You know, I will say this. I do believe and I got into this with Senator Cruz.
15:30If the campaign becomes about issues, if it becomes about immigration, if it becomes about
15:34law and order, if it becomes about energy, if it becomes about the economy and America's place
15:39in the world and America's role in the world, I think you have a very different election.
15:44But we have been watching, you know, I don't know what else to say. I mean,
15:50it's sort of like an illusion that every position that Kamala Harris has taken publicly in her own
15:56words there, at least through her campaign, because she won't do an interview or a press
16:01conference like your dad has done in two weeks. And her campaign, she won't believe that anymore.
16:09I'm not so sure I believe in this election year conversion. It sounds to me like they've
16:14decided, probably through polling, that if she stands by her value system, she loses.
16:21So they've got to change her into something she really isn't,
16:26which means she's going to revert to form if she ever got elected. Do you agree with that?
16:32Yeah, well, Sean, it's one of the great rebrandings. I mean, in the media, the media
16:35should be embarrassed of itself in this country right now. I mean, it's awful what they do, but
16:40they try and rebrand her every day. Three weeks ago, they were laughing at her. Now they're
16:44trying to rebrand her. And she's coming out, on day one, my number one priority will be tackling
16:48prices in this country. Kamala, where have you been for the last three and a half years? Where
16:52are you right now? If you want to do something about prices in this country, go do it right now.
16:58She says, I want to be tough on immigration. Tough on immigration. You've let 13 million
17:02people across the southern border. You picked a vice president that said, if Donald Trump
17:07builds a 25-foot wall, you're going to build a ladder factory in Mexico that builds 30-foot
17:13ladders. I mean, this is her policy. Now I want to be tough on immigration while they fly 320,000
17:20illegal immigrants into the country and they leave the entire border open. It's not believable. No
17:27one believes these people. They haven't done a damn thing for this country. Our country
17:31has been so diminished under their leadership. People can't afford to live. People can't afford
17:36to get mortgages. People can't afford to buy groceries. Gasoline is off the charts. I mean,
17:42everything is misfunctioning. The Middle East is a hornet's nest. Russia is a mess.
17:47Our standing in the world is just diminished. Issue after issue, where are these people?
17:54America doesn't have leadership right now. America doesn't have a cheerleader right now.
17:59And yet they come out with these promises and effectively copy my father's platform. I mean,
18:05even down to my father coming out and saying, I will not tax tips. I will not tax social security.
18:11And then last week, you hear Kamala Harris copy the exact same words. Oh, I have a new platform.
18:16I'm not going to tax tips. It's really embarrassing. And it's really embarrassing
18:20that the media allows them to do it when their positions have been totally contrary to it,
18:25you know, for the last three and a half years. Well, I think there are two things, though,
18:29that show an opportunity for your dad and for his campaign one. And we went through over and
18:35over again the McLaughlin poll that showed that even most Democrats and Biden independents had no
18:41idea that she had taken this position about Medicare and no fracking and no drilling and
18:47that she had taken these radical positions on the border to decriminalize free health care,
18:52education, free housing, and you get a driver's license in Minnesota, et cetera.
18:57They don't know. They don't know about defund, dismantle, no bail. They don't know about how
19:04they helped Iran get rich again by ignoring sanctions. And I think that's a big challenge
19:09now for the Trump campaign, especially because, you know, you're coming up against the clock.
19:14We're 28 days away from early voting in Pennsylvania. Ballots go out earlier in other
19:18states. You know, Sean, they might not know it, but they can feel it. I can tell you the American
19:25people can feel the mess that this country is in right now. You saw it. Don Lemon. Don Lemon
19:30walked down the street with a microphone asking people in Chicago who they're voting for.
19:34And time after time, people are saying I'm voting for Donald Trump because this country
19:39is just in an awful spot. People can feel it. People know what's happening in Washington.
19:44People can feel the prices. You know, they've had stagnant wages. Prices on everything have
19:48gone through the roof. The country is not stable. Our standing is not stable around the world.
19:54I'm telling you, people in the heart of hearts can feel it. They can put on the greatest show
19:58that they want. You're seeing the split screen right now. You're seeing the chaos which just
20:02follows the Democratic Party. But I'm telling you, Sean, come November 5th, people are going to vote
20:06my father back into office and we're going to have the greatest country we've ever had before.
20:10We're going to make America great again. He's going to make this country proud again.
20:14I'm telling you that's going to happen. When you look at a party like we're awaiting,
20:19for example, and we're probably going to dip in and take some of this. Bernie Sanders will
20:23be speaking. The socialist as he self-identified from Vermont. We saw AOC last night. This
20:30represents the radical wing of this party. She had an opportunity to go, for example,
20:36for vice president with somebody more moderate. But instead, she went with the most of the Bernie
20:41Sanders of governors, if you will. And, you know, Kamala's history with Bernie, she's to the left
20:47of him as a senator in 2019. But she co-sponsored Medicare for all, universal health care that will
20:53eliminate all private health insurance and the Green New Deal, 93 trillion dollars. That's not
20:58capitalism, Eric. That's not the America we grew up in, the greatest wealth creating system on
21:03earth. No, no, it's not. They want eighty seven thousand more IRS agents. No, Sean's embarrassing.
21:10And I mean, they pick a platform, they pick a vice president where his greatest accomplishment
21:14was putting tampons in boys bathrooms in Minnesota. This isn't serious. Sean, we have real
21:20problems as a country. We have economic problems. We have social problems. We have a whole host of
21:25problems in this country. And again, the person who is picked biggest accomplishment, tampons in
21:32boys bathrooms. This isn't serious. We can do so much better than this. All right, Eric Trump,
21:38we appreciate it. Radical Vermont socialist Senator Bernie Sanders, part of the big power base now
21:45beginning his address to the DNC. Let's look at the heart and soul of this new radicalized Democratic
21:50Party. Americans, it is an honor. It is an honor to be with you tonight because we're laying the
22:03groundwork for Kamala Harris to become our next president. And let me let me tell you
22:17why that is so important. I want you all to remember where we were three and a half years ago.
22:31We were in the midst of the worst public health crisis in a hundred years
22:37and the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression.
22:46Three thousand Americans were dying every day and our hospitals were overwhelmed
22:55with COVID patients. All across the country, businesses were shutting down.
23:03Unemployment was soaring. Workers were losing their health insurance. Schools were closing. State
23:12and city budgets were running out of money. People were being evicted from their homes.
23:21Children in America were going hungry. That was the reality the Biden-Harris Administration
23:32faced as they entered the Oval Office. A nation suffering, a nation frightened,
23:44and people looking to their government for support. And within two months of taking office,
23:55our government did respond.
24:03We passed the American Rescue Plan, which provided $1,400 for every man, woman, and child
24:13in the working class. We extended and expanded benefits for the unemployed.
24:21We provided emergency assistance for small businesses to stay open.
24:30We guaranteed health care coverage to tens of millions of Americans
24:36through one of the largest expansions of Medicaid in history.
24:43We provided rent relief and mortgage assistance,
24:47which prevented tenants and homeowners from being evicted.
24:55We established emergency food programs for hungry children and the elderly,
25:02and protected the pensions of millions of union workers and retirees.
25:09Oh, and by the way, we cut childhood poverty by over 40% through an expanded child tax credit.
25:21Thank you, President Biden. Thank you, Vice President Harris. Thank you, Democrats.
25:30Thank you, President Biden. Thank you, Vice President Harris. Thank you, Democratic Congress.
25:45Now, I say all of this not to relive that difficult moment, but to make one simple point.
25:56When the political will is there, government can effectively deliver for the people of our country.
26:10And now we need to summon that will again, because too many of our fellow Americans
26:22are struggling every day to just get by, to put food on the table,
26:29to pay the rents, and to get the health care they need. Brothers and sisters, bottom line,
26:38we need an economy that works for all of us, not just the billionaire class.
26:51My fellow Americans, when 60% of our people live paycheck to paycheck,
26:59the top 1% have never, ever had it so good. And these oligarchs, these oligarchs...
27:10All right, we could see that socialist Bernie Sanders really has emerged as a real power broker
27:16within the Democratic Party, along with AOC on last night. On the other side of your screen,
27:20if we could just briefly take this full, you see earlier, as Mike Tobin said, what seemed like a
27:27planned or contrived, in his words, attack against the police that was instantly shut down
27:34by protesters. And now they have been told to go home. And right there, you can see before your
27:40very eyes that there are more arrests being made. And the police, I can tell you, having driven
27:45around the city quite extensively, there is a force that is surrounding the entire perimeter
27:51of the city of Chicago tonight. Now, whether or not they came with intentions or not,
27:58we'll get back to Mike Tobin in a minute. Let's dip in one more minute. Bernie Sanders, AOC,
28:04really have emerged as the big powerhouse. All the undercurrent reports and my sources saying that
28:11he was the one that was pushing very, very hard for Tim Walz over Josh Shapiro.
28:16The very top of that to-do list is the need to get big money out of our political process.
28:27Billionaires in both parties should not be able to buy elections, including primary elections.
28:42For the sake of our democracy, we must unite in a Supreme Court decision
28:59and move toward public funding of elections.
29:03And let me tell you what else we must do. We need to join the rest of the industrialized world
29:16and guarantee health care to all people as a human right, not a privilege.
29:22We need to raise the minimum wage to a living wage.
29:37We need to pass the PRO Act so that workers can organize the union
