00:00:00Ladies and gentlemen, previously, make some noise, a new era of The Voice has three incredible new coaches.
00:00:11The legendary Leanne Rimes, rock icon Adam Lambert, and Aussie superstar Kate Miller-Heinke,
00:00:20joined voice veteran Guy Sebastian on the panel.
00:00:24I've got something here.
00:00:26Is this for Loser?
00:00:27Yeah.
00:00:28Yeah.
00:00:31With George dropping talent up for grabs.
00:00:36You just ate that song alive.
00:00:38That version was fire.
00:00:40Your voice could do anything, you could win this competition.
00:00:45Our new superstar coaches came out swinging.
00:00:50I can make your dreams come true.
00:00:52Smart choice would be to go with team Kate.
00:00:54I should be your coach, I mean that's all I'm saying.
00:00:56That was a hard sell.
00:00:58Them's fighting words.
00:01:00But when an irresistible artist came along.
00:01:06Four chair turns.
00:01:07You just stopped the nation with that voice.
00:01:09You're a star.
00:01:11I had goosebumps from the moment you opened your mouth.
00:01:13Leanne showed her ruthless side.
00:01:16Going to have to.
00:01:19I get to block any other coach who's in the running for that artist.
00:01:22Oh no you don't.
00:01:25Becoming the first coach.
00:01:27Sorry, sorry.
00:01:29To break out the ultimate block.
00:01:33That really hurt.
00:01:35Tonight.
00:01:39New artist.
00:01:40I really hope the coach will feel the energy.
00:01:44With plenty to prove.
00:01:46Standing up on stage takes a certain kind of bravery.
00:01:49Singing is my entire life.
00:01:51Not being able to turn a chair.
00:01:53That's for sure.
00:01:57But which voices.
00:02:00I'm fighting hard for this one.
00:02:02I can fight back.
00:02:03Will get Kate all fired up.
00:02:05I think it would be a mistake to go with an American.
00:02:11Forcing Adam to stab his ground.
00:02:14Are you serious?
00:02:15Yeah I've had it.
00:02:16Oh my god.
00:02:17As the battle to build teams escalates.
00:02:35Ladies and gentlemen, series 13 of The Voice.
00:02:38Make some noise in here.
00:02:48I feel great.
00:02:49It's exciting.
00:02:50Oh yes.
00:02:53Hi, sorry.
00:02:54I hope I'm not interrupting.
00:02:55No, not at all.
00:02:56No, welcome.
00:02:57I wanted to pitch something to you.
00:02:59Because you've been around the block with this show.
00:03:01And it's my first time.
00:03:03I'm a newbie.
00:03:04What do you think about some kind of like alliance.
00:03:07Like Australians versus Americans.
00:03:09Could that be a strategic tool that we use.
00:03:11Squeeze them out.
00:03:13Look, I've only won The Voice once.
00:03:16It very often goes to an international.
00:03:19And I like where you're heading with this.
00:03:22But our goal is to bring it back onto Aussie soil.
00:03:25Are you going to stab me in the back at the end?
00:03:27No.
00:03:28You will turn this alliance around.
00:03:29It will hurt me.
00:03:30It's a pinky promise that this is ironclad.
00:03:32Like this is real.
00:03:33Okay.
00:03:34Alright.
00:03:35I like the idea.
00:03:36We need to brainstorm a bit more.
00:03:37Flesh out details.
00:03:38Okay.
00:03:39Call me later.
00:03:40No idea is a bad idea.
00:03:41Okay.
00:03:42Thanks.
00:03:43Nothing is too evil.
00:03:46My name is Beau Shearer.
00:03:53I'm 16 years old and I'm from the Northern Rivers.
00:03:55In a little place called Fingal Head.
00:04:04Yeah, Fingal Head is amazing.
00:04:05I ride to the beach for a surf pretty much every day.
00:04:09As soon as I see blue skies, I'm on my bike.
00:04:16Paddling out into the blue water, there is not a better way to start the day.
00:04:24I love my family heaps.
00:04:26I'm the eldest of five kids, so it's chaos.
00:04:31I started singing when I was living in a place called Parks.
00:04:35And they run an annual Elvis festival.
00:04:38So when I went to that, I immediately fell in love with Elvis.
00:04:41And that's when I was like, I want to be like Elvis.
00:04:43Like, I want all me needs to turn into Elvis right now.
00:04:47Being an Elvis impersonator was very different to what everyone else did.
00:04:51And it also gave me a lot of confidence.
00:04:53And I was like, well, if I can do it without being ashamed, then I can do anything.
00:05:00Auditioning for The Voice is something that I've wanted for years.
00:05:03I think I'm most worried about my voice changing.
00:05:07I'm only 16.
00:05:08Like, my voice is changing continuously and I have voice cracks occasionally.
00:05:13And obviously you can't control those things.
00:05:16But that would be so embarrassing.
00:05:24I'm so nervous.
00:05:25I have one opportunity to impress the coaches and I don't want to mess it up.
00:05:33Artist Hawking.
00:05:35Giveaway.
00:05:38Let's go.
00:05:57Oh.
00:05:59Wow.
00:06:06Yeah, boy.
00:06:14Wow.
00:06:29Wow.
00:06:37That's it.
00:06:53That's it.
00:06:58Oh, my God.
00:07:07Oh, my God.
00:07:22Oh.
00:07:28Oh, my God.
00:07:36Hello, legend.
00:07:37Hello.
00:07:38How are you?
00:07:39I'm good.
00:07:40How are you?
00:07:41Very good.
00:07:42What's your name?
00:07:43My name's Bo Shearer.
00:07:44I'm 16 years old and I'm from Fingal Head.
00:07:45Oh, my gosh.
00:07:46You're crazy.
00:07:48So, Bo, 16, from Fingal Head.
00:07:51Yep.
00:07:52All right.
00:07:53Honestly, it's a haircut that would make Andre Agassi wish for the days of old.
00:08:00Thanks, Mom, for that one.
00:08:02Did Mom cut it?
00:08:03Did you cut it?
00:08:04Really?
00:08:05I think it's cool.
00:08:06I think that's really cool, actually.
00:08:08I think I had those bangs as a child.
00:08:10Seriously, I love it.
00:08:12It's a combo of two very famous haircuts, the bowl cut and a mullet.
00:08:17The mullet.
00:08:18It's called a mullet.
00:08:20A mullet.
00:08:21I love it.
00:08:23But forget about your hair.
00:08:25Your music, like country music, is that your jam normally?
00:08:30Yeah, country folk, blues even.
00:08:33Well, that performance had all of those things.
00:08:36Yeah, it did.
00:08:37Yeah, I was blown away with the bends in your voice.
00:08:42Yeah.
00:08:43The whole, like, yeah, that's what got me was like, oh, he's doing his own thing with
00:08:47those bendy notes.
00:08:48And, like, I got to hear you and your artistry and what makes you unique because of, like,
00:08:54all of these different bends.
00:08:56And it just was like, I don't know, it was super cool.
00:08:59It'd be so fun to play and see where we can, like, expand you into.
00:09:03So, I mean, and you're 16.
00:09:05Like, there's nobody up here that knows anything better than starting at a young age but me.
00:09:08I'm just going to say, I know we've all done the young thing, but, you know, can I just
00:09:13Can I just say that there's something about you, your essence on stage.
00:09:19I think there's something deeply Australian about what you do.
00:09:23I think it would be a mistake to go with an American.
00:09:27Oh, yeah.
00:09:30I think that there's something really, really, really earthy and humble.
00:09:34I mean, you know, there are some people that...
00:09:36Where country music comes from.
00:09:37I mean, yeah, where country music comes from.
00:09:40You know, someone who's done country music since birth.
00:09:43Yeah.
00:09:44I mean, that is...
00:09:45You do keep reminding us of that.
00:09:47We have heard that a lot, Leanne, but amongst other things, I just started there.
00:09:52I didn't finish there.
00:09:54The thing is that, you know, Americans are known for, and, you know, present company excluded,
00:10:00but they are known for a bit of arrogance.
00:10:02And they're kind of...
00:10:04Damn straight.
00:10:05A bit loud.
00:10:06Damn straight.
00:10:09I just think you would do really, really well with an Aussie coach.
00:10:12And I think your dad might agree.
00:10:19You have to referee this, you know.
00:10:21This is up to you now.
00:10:25Are you all right?
00:10:26Yeah.
00:10:27Did you just have to...
00:10:28You just hid.
00:10:29I was just hiding.
00:10:31I thought the gloves were coming off the set.
00:10:34But you sound older and like you've been singing this kind of genre for years and years,
00:10:40which is a massive compliment, by the way.
00:10:45So, I think we could have heaps of fun on this show.
00:10:50I love everything about you.
00:10:52Your haircut as well.
00:10:54So, mum, you did good.
00:10:56Yeah.
00:11:00You know, I wasn't totally sold at first,
00:11:02because this style of music isn't necessarily something I connect with.
00:11:05But your voice is really consistent.
00:11:08And the bends and the vibes you were putting into it was very soulful.
00:11:12And I really appreciated your instrument.
00:11:14I thought that was very cool.
00:11:15Your sound is really like...
00:11:17It's a refined sound.
00:11:18And I'm so impressed that you're only 16,
00:11:20because it just sounds really seasoned and pro.
00:11:24Yeah, good job.
00:11:28Bo, 16, from Fingal Head.
00:11:30What's it going to be?
00:11:42I think...
00:11:48I'm going to go with Guy.
00:11:50Oh!
00:11:57Sorry, I'm so sweaty.
00:11:58No, no, that's cool.
00:12:00Dude, that was awesome.
00:12:01Thank you so much.
00:12:06That was awesome.
00:12:07Yeah, it was so great.
00:12:08Congratulations.
00:12:09That was so cool.
00:12:10Congratulations.
00:12:11Brilliant.
00:12:12Congratulations.
00:12:14I think we just have to watch what we do, yeah.
00:12:16Thank you, everybody.
00:12:21I love this hair.
00:12:22That hair is so signature.
00:12:23I love it.
00:12:24I love it.
00:12:25I'm going to give my kid that haircut.
00:12:28Hello, family.
00:12:29Hello.
00:12:30I'm so proud of you, Bo.
00:12:32Come and congratulate Bo on the four-chair turn.
00:12:35That was amazing.
00:12:36It's massive.
00:12:37I'm so proud.
00:12:38Oh, my God.
00:12:39How are you, Legend?
00:12:40Well done.
00:12:41Good to see you.
00:12:42Four.
00:12:43How exciting.
00:12:44Exciting.
00:12:45Well, you can chill now.
00:12:46Well, not for long.
00:12:48We've got the next stage coming up soon, but we'll get into that.
00:12:50Now celebrate with the fam.
00:12:52See you, guys.
00:12:54It was so good.
00:12:55I'm so proud of you.
00:12:56Are you feeling okay?
00:12:58Yeah.
00:12:59A bit rattled?
00:13:00Yeah.
00:13:01That's what happens.
00:13:02Bring it in.
00:13:03Well done, Bowie.
00:13:04Yes.
00:13:05Well done.
00:13:15I'm feeling speechless.
00:13:17I can't believe it, honestly.
00:13:19I wasn't expecting that.
00:13:20I was expecting just to perform and then to turn around, give me a bit of feedback, come
00:13:24back next year.
00:13:27The four-chair turn is nuts.
00:13:29I can't believe it happened.
00:13:37Hello.
00:13:38Hello.
00:13:41I'm Tia Barnes.
00:13:42I am 25 years old and I'm from the Gold Coast.
00:13:46My biggest supporter in life, 100%, is my dad.
00:13:50Dad's always really believed in my music, so he's been the one that sort of bought me
00:13:55my first guitar, comes to every single set when I'm busking, and he definitely thinks
00:13:59I am the best singer by far.
00:14:02Dad's a little bit biased.
00:14:05You've never missed a gig.
00:14:06No, I've never missed a gig.
00:14:08Even weddings, when I didn't tell you I was going.
00:14:11And I got robbed.
00:14:12And I literally got robbed and I've never gone by myself again.
00:14:16Beginning of 2022, Dad was acting a little bit different.
00:14:20Usually when I finish a song, he's like, whoo, and gives me a massive clap.
00:14:25And that stopped for a little period.
00:14:27It was like a really odd behaviour because he is so supportive.
00:14:30And then Dad always calls me at midnight on my birthday.
00:14:34He's done it my whole life that I can remember.
00:14:37Then it was a week before my birthday, he rang me and said, happy birthday.
00:14:44So I was like, you need to go to the hospital and you need to go now.
00:14:50The type of brain cancer that he has is a rare one and a high percentage of people
00:14:54don't make it past even the two or three year mark.
00:14:57When I think about going busking and not having him there,
00:15:01like, that is the part that actually breaks my heart.
00:15:07It's just not having him there.
00:15:09We don't know how long Dad will have left.
00:15:12So it's sort of just taking every day as it comes
00:15:15and taking advantage of opportunities like this.
00:15:21Today is a pretty important day.
00:15:24I really, really, really, really, really, really, really
00:15:27want one of the coaches at least to turn around.
00:15:31Honestly, I don't mind singing to the back of the four red chairs too much
00:15:35because I'm going to have Dad on the side stage
00:15:39and I think I'll be making sure that he feels the song.
00:15:44I definitely don't want to let Dad down and not get any turns.
00:15:50I'll just walk in.
00:15:53Go T!
00:15:55You got it Bea, you're ten out of ten.
00:16:05Go baby!
00:16:19This is the boy!
00:16:25This is the boy!
00:16:32Honestly, I don't mind singing to the back of the four red chairs too much
00:16:36because I'm going to have Dad on the side stage
00:16:40and I think I'll be making sure that he feels the song.
00:16:45I definitely don't want to let Dad down and not get any turns.
00:16:51I'll just walk in.
00:16:54Go T!
00:16:56You got it Bea, you're ten out of ten.
00:17:06Go baby!
00:17:15Go T!
00:17:23That's a strong start.
00:17:39I'm already in.
00:17:45Oh yeah!
00:18:05Oh yeah, it's good.
00:18:15Go T!
00:18:46Go T!
00:19:03Pretty!
00:19:05Really pretty!
00:19:07Lovely!
00:19:09Four chairs!
00:19:11Wow!
00:19:12Four chairs!
00:19:16That was beautiful.
00:19:22Wow!
00:19:24What's your name?
00:19:25My name's Tia, I'm 25 and I'm from the Gold Coast.
00:19:28Awesome!
00:19:31Go baby!
00:19:32What I really, really loved is how still and centred that was.
00:19:38We get a lot of singers who come out and kind of assault us with their runs
00:19:44and their big belty virtuosity and that's great too.
00:19:48It's awesome.
00:19:49They come all the way to us whereas I felt like you drew us to you.
00:19:54Thank you so much.
00:19:55Yeah, we were all kind of sitting here like this.
00:19:57Yeah.
00:19:59I need you on my team.
00:20:01I mean I don't want to have to start begging but I need you.
00:20:05I feel that we belong together.
00:20:07There's an emotional connection.
00:20:10Please don't listen to any of the other crap that these people say.
00:20:15But don't you think it might be a little bit of an obvious choice to go with Kate
00:20:19because your styles are so similar.
00:20:20I mean don't you think that it might be more challenging and help you grow more
00:20:25if you went with somebody like me who does something different from you
00:20:29so that you could maybe challenge yourself in a different area.
00:20:33I mean it's all about growth really.
00:20:35I think Adam would try to get you to sing rock songs that would not suit you at all.
00:20:39That's not all I do.
00:20:41I do way more than just rock songs.
00:20:43It's true.
00:20:44I love a ballad.
00:20:45I love a soft number.
00:20:47I'm sorry.
00:20:48I'm fighting hard for this one.
00:20:49Okay.
00:20:50Alright.
00:20:51I can fight back.
00:20:53Two can play at that game.
00:20:54I love it.
00:20:55Honestly, you were transcendent and I just think that was really beautiful.
00:20:58Yes, thank you.
00:20:59Yeah, really, really lovely.
00:21:01Alright, off you go.
00:21:02Let's get through this bit.
00:21:04Hey, Tia.
00:21:05Hi.
00:21:06Hey.
00:21:07If you did a show, I would want to see it.
00:21:10I would definitely go and watch.
00:21:12I would want to hear what you have to say and that can only come from someone
00:21:16who's lived through things, who has experienced things,
00:21:19and I get that with you.
00:21:21I really do.
00:21:22Right before you sung, there was just this barrage of support from over here.
00:21:27Dad comes to literally every single basking set.
00:21:30He's been sitting at the table with people who have just gotten married
00:21:34at weddings that I've been gigging at.
00:21:36So he's invited to all the gigs.
00:21:40Yeah.
00:21:42It was really for Dad as well that I chose that song today.
00:21:46How did she do?
00:21:47What do you think?
00:21:48Brilliant.
00:21:49Yeah?
00:21:50I think you guys said it all perfectly.
00:21:52I've got nothing more to say.
00:21:54Aw.
00:21:56Yeah, in 2022, Dad was diagnosed with brain cancer
00:22:01and it's a terminal type of brain cancer,
00:22:03so he's already two years successfully, happily living his life.
00:22:08Yeah.
00:22:09Good job.
00:22:11The fact that you got through that so calm and poised
00:22:16is just testament to you.
00:22:18I get that from Daddy-O.
00:22:20Yeah.
00:22:21I really want a compelling female voice on Team God,
00:22:25someone delicate and flower-like in the delivery,
00:22:28in the way that you do it would be amazing on my team.
00:22:31We're all fighting for you.
00:22:32Let me into the ring.
00:22:33Let me in.
00:22:34Now, your control and the dynamics of how tender you were in places
00:22:41and the breath and it was just like I felt like I was floating
00:22:45listening to you and you're just so grounded.
00:22:49Yeah.
00:22:50That's such an attribute in this business.
00:22:53It doesn't come around all the time.
00:22:56You should realize how special you are.
00:22:59Yeah.
00:23:01Yeah.
00:23:04All right.
00:23:05Choice time.
00:23:06Please, I need you.
00:23:08All right.
00:23:09I need you more.
00:23:10I need you.
00:23:11Oh, she's begging.
00:23:12I'm just going to come up.
00:23:14I love your dress.
00:23:15Oh, thank you.
00:23:16I love yours.
00:23:17Oh my goodness.
00:23:18I'm going to come and stand up here next to you.
00:23:20Just while you make the decision, no pressure.
00:23:22I'm not hovering or anything.
00:23:24When I first started busking and took becoming a musician seriously,
00:23:29there's actually a coach that is here today and there's a song by them
00:23:35that I've been singing since I first started.
00:23:39I could sing you the entire thing right now,
00:23:42word for word, without anything.
00:23:45And the coach whose song it is, is Kate.
00:23:50Oh.
00:23:51Kate, awesome.
00:23:56You are amazing.
00:23:57Oh, thank you so much.
00:23:59You guys are freaking amazing.
00:24:01I'm not kidding.
00:24:03Likewise.
00:24:04I think this is meant to be.
00:24:07I think they seem to be saying, what's the song?
00:24:11Caught in the Crowd.
00:24:12Caught in the Crowd.
00:24:14Well, I mean, you say you know all the words.
00:24:16Yeah.
00:24:19Do you guys know this song?
00:24:23Okay.
00:24:24I was young and caught in the crowd
00:24:27I didn't know then what I know now
00:24:30I was dumb and I was proud
00:24:33And I'm sorry
00:24:36If I could go back, do it again
00:24:40I'd be someone you could call a friend
00:24:43Please, please, believe that I'm sorry
00:24:51Amazing.
00:24:53What a treat.
00:24:54What an absolute treat.
00:24:56Gorgeous.
00:24:58How beautiful.
00:25:04I just can't believe it.
00:25:06You've basically, you've chosen me, right?
00:25:09You've chosen me?
00:25:10I didn't even say that.
00:25:11I'm choosing Kate.
00:25:12Yay.
00:25:13Okay.
00:25:14Yes.
00:25:16Thank you so much.
00:25:18This is going to be so much fun.
00:25:20Brilliant.
00:25:21Let's go now.
00:25:22I want you to be even more weird.
00:25:25I like weird.
00:25:26Weird is good.
00:25:27Absolutely.
00:25:30You know what I love about her?
00:25:31When she sings, she'll look you right in the eye and sing to you.
00:25:33The eye contact is really beautiful, you know?
00:25:36Yeah.
00:25:38Oh my God.
00:25:39I loved it.
00:25:40You did well.
00:25:41I knew it.
00:25:42I knew it.
00:25:43That was amazing.
00:25:45Incredible.
00:25:46Hello.
00:25:47Lovely to meet you.
00:25:48Hi.
00:25:49I'm Kate.
00:25:50Well, how good was that?
00:25:52Hello.
00:25:53Congratulations.
00:25:56You must be so proud.
00:25:57Nice to meet you.
00:25:58She smashed it out of the park.
00:26:00That was incredible.
00:26:01I think I've picked the right coach.
00:26:03I think you have.
00:26:04I think I have.
00:26:05Very discerning taste.
00:26:07Yeah, not everybody has it.
00:26:08No, you're right.
00:26:09Agreed.
00:26:10Thank you so much.
00:26:11Lovely to meet you all.
00:26:12Lovely to meet you.
00:26:13So nice to meet you.
00:26:14You too.
00:26:15Have a nice day.
00:26:16Baby.
00:26:17Group hug.
00:26:18What are you doing?
00:26:19Group hug.
00:26:20Dad.
00:26:21Move.
00:26:22I know.
00:26:23Thank you all for being here.
00:26:24Oh, honey.
00:26:25We would not have missed it.
00:26:26We would not have missed it.
00:26:27Awesome.
00:26:28Let's go party, baby.
00:26:29Thank you, Daddy-O.
00:26:30You're welcome, baby.
00:26:32I cannot believe that I got four chair turns.
00:26:35It's crazy.
00:26:36It's freaking crazy.
00:26:38I can't believe I got four.
00:26:42Thanks.
00:26:43Kate.
00:26:44I love Kate.
00:26:45I love Kate.
00:26:46I love Kate.
00:26:52Wow.
00:26:53Kate Miller-Heidke.
00:26:54What a talent.
00:26:55Oh my gosh.
00:26:56Her vocal range is insane.
00:26:58Her sense of style.
00:26:59Her stage presence.
00:27:00She's an Australian icon.
00:27:02A beautiful performer.
00:27:04An incredibly talented human being.
00:27:10When I think of unique voices, I think of Kate Miller-Heidke.
00:27:13I mean, her ability to blend genres.
00:27:15Just make her very unique.
00:27:17Kate can go for the jugular, man.
00:27:19She is like...
00:27:25Kate's also very competitive.
00:27:27I think she's probably the most competitive coach on the panel.
00:27:31Kate's fierce.
00:27:32Kate's here to fight.
00:27:33She's going to fight hard.
00:27:35I was drawn to The Voice because I'm a singer myself.
00:27:39And it's something I'm addicted to.
00:27:59I'm Kyle Wilson.
00:28:00I work in demolition and I smash down walls for a living.
00:28:04A lot of sledgehammering, jackhammering.
00:28:06If I've had a real bad day, I can do some damage on it.
00:28:10Not many people guess it, but I used to be a tap dancer.
00:28:19I started doing tap dancing when I was five or six.
00:28:23I really enjoyed rhythm.
00:28:26There was one performance when I did a song and dance.
00:28:28That's my first time when I was singing.
00:28:30And I just kept singing.
00:28:37Standing up on stage takes a certain kind of bravery.
00:28:40I always have let my nerves get the best of me.
00:28:43Whether it's forgetting your words or hitting a wrong note.
00:28:46Your mind just starts to go blank after a while.
00:28:48It all just comes at once when it gets bad.
00:28:50But I think it's time to step out of my comfort zone.
00:28:56You brought your posse.
00:28:57I brought everyone I knew.
00:29:00Going on The Voice is my plan to try to make it in music
00:29:03and just do something that I love.
00:29:05Are you nervous?
00:29:06I am now.
00:29:07Nerves get the better or I stuff up or something.
00:29:09It'll eat away at me after knowing that I could have done a better performance.
00:29:16I can feel my palms start to sweat up.
00:29:18I'm just trying to put my head down
00:29:19and just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
00:29:23For my blind audition I'll be singing I'm Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO.
00:29:27People always love the original
00:29:28so it's a bit ballsy to try to do something a bit different
00:29:30but sometimes I think it pays off.
00:29:38Here he is!
00:29:41Give him hell Jodie!
00:29:57I'm Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO
00:30:17That's different.
00:30:27That's kinda cool.
00:30:35I like it.
00:30:36I like it too.
00:30:57I'm sexy and I know it
00:30:58I'm sexy and I know it
00:30:59I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:00I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:01I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:02I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:03I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:04I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:05I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:06I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:07I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:08I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:09I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:10I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:11I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:12I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:13I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:14I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:15I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:16I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:17I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:18I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:19I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:20I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:22I'm sexy and I know it
00:31:41Hello. Hi, what's your name? What's your story?
00:31:45I'm Kyle Wilson. I'm from Ballina and I'm 25 years old.
00:31:49I'm 25 years old.
00:31:50So you do music for a job then?
00:31:52No, I do demolition and asbestos removal for a few times.
00:31:57Never really played anywhere.
00:31:59So this is pretty much debut gig.
00:32:01Your first gig.
00:32:02Wow.
00:32:04Wow.
00:32:05That was really cool.
00:32:07And I loved where you took that song.
00:32:09It was really playful.
00:32:10I was smiling and getting into it back there.
00:32:14The reason I didn't turn...
00:32:16There are a couple of vocal moments that were a tiny bit iffy.
00:32:19I think maybe I could detect the fact that you're just a little bit inexperienced.
00:32:23But you've got a beautiful vocal tone.
00:32:25It's gorgeous.
00:32:27I was just looking for a few more sprinkles.
00:32:30I wanted a little bit something extra on top.
00:32:34But I really, really enjoyed it.
00:32:37I appreciate that.
00:32:40You know, it was really smart to do something that random as your song.
00:32:45And to do it your way.
00:32:47Because it gets our attention.
00:32:48So, bravo for that.
00:32:50That was cool.
00:32:51I appreciate that.
00:32:53And it made me smile because you were saying things like, you know...
00:32:55Passion in my pants.
00:32:56All those...
00:32:57Yeah, yeah.
00:32:58Passion in my pants and I ain't afraid to show it.
00:33:00You know, it was fun.
00:33:02It was really fun.
00:33:04Thank you for that.
00:33:05Hey, you got your whole squad here.
00:33:06Hi.
00:33:07The whole squad coming, yeah.
00:33:08With T-shirts and everything.
00:33:09Yeah.
00:33:10Yeah, I told him to go easy with that, but I was like...
00:33:12I'm digging it.
00:33:13I'm digging it.
00:33:14The thing that stopped me from turning around was, you know...
00:33:16I could hear also that you were kind of inexperienced.
00:33:19But that shouldn't stop you from continuing this.
00:33:21I think you're awesome.
00:33:23Yeah.
00:33:24Thanks for that.
00:33:27This is the reason I love the show.
00:33:29We all hear things so differently.
00:33:32I have to commend you for taking that risk.
00:33:34Because maybe the magic was the fact that it was so random.
00:33:38But I do think beyond the gimmick, there is a really beautiful voice in there.
00:33:42So let's try and give Kate those sprinkles.
00:33:46We will.
00:33:47Let's give it to her.
00:33:48Yeah.
00:33:49I'm hungry.
00:33:54There's no pitch.
00:33:55You're all mine.
00:33:56You're all mine.
00:33:57It's so great to meet you, man.
00:34:10You look like a fun crew.
00:34:11You look like somebody I want to go just like have a drink with at a party.
00:34:14Yeah.
00:34:15A beer.
00:34:16Yeah, a beer.
00:34:17Hey.
00:34:21Yeah, talk me through the shirts.
00:34:22Yeah.
00:34:23We're big fanboys.
00:34:24Yeah.
00:34:25You've already got the entourage by the looks of it.
00:34:28You're sweet.
00:34:29Well done.
00:34:30Good on you for supporting him.
00:34:31No worries.
00:34:32I'll see you in the next one.
00:34:33Good on you.
00:34:34Thanks, man.
00:34:36Yeah.
00:34:41I'm going to give it everything I've got.
00:34:43I don't want to get back into doing demolition just yet.
00:34:47Coming up.
00:34:52You just said what I just said.
00:34:53But just in a better way.
00:34:55The competition fires up.
00:34:58Yeah, I've had it.
00:34:59And later.
00:35:03This is a huge risk.
00:35:04For this loved up couple.
00:35:06We're taking two of the most extreme genres and putting them together.
00:35:11Find the right note.
00:35:35I don't know how many Australian artists you know.
00:35:38But I love it when Australian singers embrace our natural accent.
00:35:43Yeah.
00:35:44But I still cannot do an Australian accent.
00:35:46Let me hear it.
00:35:47I wouldn't even try.
00:35:48It's like.
00:35:49It's a tough one to do.
00:35:50Yeah, it's a tough one.
00:35:51Well, the word no.
00:35:52I mean.
00:35:53No.
00:35:54There's like a hundred different ways to say no in Australia.
00:35:55It's like nor, nor.
00:35:56Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:35:57Nor.
00:35:58There's an R in there that I don't know where it came from.
00:36:01Yeah, nah.
00:36:03Hey, that reminds me.
00:36:04We've got some gifts to welcome you.
00:36:06Singers were talking about Australian accents.
00:36:08Oh.
00:36:09Oh.
00:36:10This is something we do whenever we have new overseas guests.
00:36:13I love gifts.
00:36:14I very much appreciate this.
00:36:15Welcome to Australia.
00:36:16Oh, my God.
00:36:17This is the best.
00:36:18Yep.
00:36:19A little boxing kangaroo.
00:36:20A little boxing dude.
00:36:21Uh-huh.
00:36:22Thongs.
00:36:23We've got thongs.
00:36:24Yes.
00:36:25Oh, yes.
00:36:26If you want to be really Aussie, you call them double pluggers.
00:36:28Double pluggers.
00:36:29Oh, wait.
00:36:30What is this?
00:36:31Is this a swatter?
00:36:32I think I got yours.
00:36:35Wow.
00:36:36Oh, I love this.
00:36:38Thank you, guys.
00:36:39That's so kind.
00:36:40I think we need to keep this on set.
00:36:42We're going to fight you for this.
00:36:44Oh, yeah.
00:36:45But welcome to Australia.
00:36:46Thank you for showing your gifts into our talent.
00:36:50It's amazing to have you.
00:36:52We're only starting out, but you're going to be blown away.
00:36:54What do you think of my sash?
00:36:55I think your stylist might have something to say if you want to make that permanent.
00:36:58Cherry Club is very in right now.
00:37:00Yeah.
00:37:06I am Jason Robertson.
00:37:07I'm 51.
00:37:08I live on the Gold Coast.
00:37:13I drive a truck and I deliver toilets.
00:37:16Toilet man.
00:37:17I am a real life Kenny.
00:37:19I don't do it because I love the smell, let me tell you.
00:37:21The smell is horrendous.
00:37:24Music for me is everything.
00:37:26I've sung all my life at work, every job.
00:37:31One of the most important things in life is to chase dreams.
00:37:38You can have dreams and you can just think about it.
00:37:41Where you can get up and you can have a crack.
00:37:44I've never had a singing lesson in my life.
00:37:47It's 40 years of waiting, 40 years of working.
00:37:51This is my chance to actually do it.
00:37:55If a coach turned their chair for me,
00:37:58it'd be mind-blowing.
00:37:59How good would it be to be the voice of Australia?
00:38:05My song I'm singing for The Voice is The Horses by Daryl Braithwaite.
00:38:10It is an Aussie classic and people do know it instantly,
00:38:13so hopefully I can do it some justice and people will be on board with it.
00:38:20Yeah, Dad!
00:38:22You're going to smash it!
00:38:28You're going to smash it!
00:38:52Oh, yes!
00:39:22That's the way it's going to be, little darling.
00:39:27We'll go riding on the horses, yeah, yeah.
00:39:33Way up in the sky, little darling.
00:39:38And if you fall, I'll pick you up, pick you up.
00:39:43That's the way it's going to be, little darling.
00:39:47We'll go riding on the horses, yeah, yeah.
00:39:53Way up in the sky, little darling.
00:39:58And if you fall, I'll pick you up, pick you up.
00:40:08Thank you very much.
00:40:18Hi, what's your name?
00:40:20Jason Robertson, I'm 51 and I live on the Gold Coast.
00:40:23Awesome.
00:40:26You sang the hell out of that, you did a really great job.
00:40:28Thank you, thank you.
00:40:30I recently did a gig with Daryl Braithwaite and honestly like
00:40:34a hundred people showed up dressed as horses.
00:40:38That's fantastic.
00:40:39Like in a full fur suit.
00:40:41The reason I didn't turn is just I had slight kind of cover
00:40:45pub band vibes and I couldn't access you through the song.
00:40:51Maybe if you'd chosen a different song, a more vulnerable,
00:40:54more exposed kind of song, I could have had access
00:40:58to who you really were.
00:41:00But I thought that was great.
00:41:01Thank you very much.
00:41:02Bloody great, mate.
00:41:05How long have you been singing?
00:41:07I've been gigging for sort of 30 years of my life.
00:41:09In between driving toilet trucks.
00:41:11Oh, hey.
00:41:12So portable toilets with a massive pooper scooper on the back
00:41:15with a big vacuum.
00:41:17But it gives you time to sing as well so you can drive the truck
00:41:19and sing along.
00:41:21When I'm not pooper scooping, I'm singing.
00:41:27So you're real life Kenny.
00:41:29Gold Coast based Kenny, correct.
00:41:31100%.
00:41:32There is a great movie called Kenny, by the way.
00:41:34It is so funny and it's...
00:41:36True story.
00:41:37It's based on a real company, absolutely.
00:41:39Based on someone like you.
00:41:41It's a very important job, actually.
00:41:43It is a very important job.
00:41:45Appreciate it.
00:41:49Thanks, guys.
00:41:52Next.
00:41:53Come on.
00:41:56Howard is a singing ice cream vendor.
00:41:58You never see anybody unhappy at an ice cream store.
00:42:01Are you kidding?
00:42:02Spark a major clash between the coaches.
00:42:06Are you kidding me?
00:42:08Are you serious?
00:42:09Yeah, I've had it.
00:42:11Wow.
00:42:12Wow.
00:42:33Hi, my name is Ruby Lafferty.
00:42:35I'm 18 years old and I'm from New South Wales.
00:42:39At the moment, I'm working in a gelato store.
00:42:43Absolutely love it.
00:42:45You never see anybody unhappy at an ice cream store.
00:42:48Are you kidding?
00:42:49Silly, but I love to sing at work all the time.
00:42:52It's just the best.
00:42:54I love to dream and performing to sold out crowds.
00:42:57I think that would be amazing.
00:43:04I'm so grateful that you're all here.
00:43:06I'm so grateful that you're all supporting me today.
00:43:08I have my mom and her boyfriend and two of my friends.
00:43:13You've worked so hard over these years and this was all you're doing.
00:43:17You made every single step along the way from your own drive.
00:43:20So I'm so proud of you.
00:43:22They've been such a huge rock for me.
00:43:25I feel like you're very comfortable in your own skin
00:43:28and I feel like that's what makes you so unique and so powerful.
00:43:33You are a goddess.
00:43:35Yes, yes, totally.
00:43:43For my blind audition, I'll be singing Right Here, Right Now by Jessica Mowboy.
00:43:49It is really risky to sing this song.
00:43:52It's very up-tempo.
00:43:54So I'm really feeling the pressure.
00:43:57There is no room for error.
00:44:02Singing is my entire life.
00:44:04So not being able to turn a chair, I would be crushed for sure.
00:44:11Asha's walking.
00:44:14Yeah, Ruby!
00:44:18So her name's Ruby.
00:44:20We love you!
00:44:22And she's loved.
00:44:23Yes.
00:44:24She's very loved.
00:44:25Very loved.
00:44:26That's our clues so far.
00:44:35So many things go round and round inside my head
00:44:40But there's just no living without it
00:44:44I just take it day by day, got no regrets
00:44:49Ooh, let it go
00:44:53Stepping out into my week
00:44:56I know I'm the one who's in control
00:45:01I know I'm the one who's in control
00:45:03Come on!
00:45:04I'm walking along
00:45:06Singing my song
00:45:08Following my intuition
00:45:11Doesn't need to be a mission
00:45:13And if it goes wrong
00:45:15Then let it go wrong
00:45:17I don't need nobody's blessing
00:45:20I can do this on my own
00:45:22I am right here, right now
00:45:24Right here, right here, right now
00:45:26I am right here, right now
00:45:31I'm walking along
00:45:33Singing my song
00:45:35Following my intuition
00:45:37Doesn't need to be a mission
00:45:39And if it goes wrong
00:45:41Then let it go wrong
00:45:44I don't need no, no, no
00:45:51Right here, right here, right now
00:45:53I am right here, right now
00:45:56Come on!
00:45:57I am right here, right now
00:46:00Right here, right here, right now
00:46:02I am right here, right now
00:46:28Go Ruby!
00:46:29So you're Ruby.
00:46:30Yes.
00:46:33So nice to meet you.
00:46:34Where are you from?
00:46:35How old are you?
00:46:36I'm 18 and I'm from Sydney, New South Wales.
00:46:38Amazing!
00:46:42Now, I gotta be honest.
00:46:43It was a little shaky in the beginning,
00:46:44which you know.
00:46:45For sure.
00:46:46But then you clicked in
00:46:47and as you got into the hook,
00:46:48I was like, oh yeah, I'm feeling it.
00:46:50It was very infectious
00:46:52and to me, it's like those lyrics just,
00:46:54you know, this is a Jess Malboy song
00:46:56and it's just such a great anthem
00:46:58for owning who you are
00:47:00and doing it and taking chances
00:47:02and I was very inspired by that
00:47:03and I felt like you meant it.
00:47:05Yes.
00:47:06When I turned around,
00:47:07you were accenting words
00:47:08but you were using the hand.
00:47:09I was like, yes, live, you know.
00:47:11I was feeling it, yeah.
00:47:14Thank you, thank you.
00:47:16Just seeing you beaming up there,
00:47:17that was so joyous.
00:47:19You have this thing in your voice
00:47:20which I love in great pop vocals.
00:47:24Just this one little sweet spot
00:47:26that's like the money note,
00:47:28that is gold
00:47:29and I could listen to that all day.
00:47:32It goes in my ears
00:47:33and something happens to my body.
00:47:35That is why I turned
00:47:37because you're a natural singer.
00:47:39Thank you so much.
00:47:40You have a talent.
00:47:42That means a lot.
00:47:44I loved it.
00:47:45Come on.
00:47:46You had the whole crowd into it.
00:47:49I was jamming back there.
00:47:50I think like Adam was saying
00:47:52the beginning was a little bit shaky
00:47:53but there were some beautiful moments
00:47:56in that song.
00:47:58I wish there were more
00:47:59that were kind of strung together
00:48:01but there's no question
00:48:03that you have a beautiful talent
00:48:05and a beautiful gift.
00:48:06Thank you so much.
00:48:10Ruby, what does singing mean to you?
00:48:14For me, singing has really been
00:48:17my escape from the world.
00:48:20I don't want to get emotional.
00:48:24That's okay.
00:48:25We're all emotional messes down there.
00:48:27Let it out.
00:48:28Do it.
00:48:30Singing for me is the one thing
00:48:32that I feel like I excel in, I guess,
00:48:36and it's been the one defining factor
00:48:39that isn't based on my appearance.
00:48:44For my weight,
00:48:45I was bullied a lot in high school
00:48:47and primary school.
00:48:48So it was just, yeah.
00:48:50People are lovely, aren't they?
00:48:52It's just ridiculous.
00:48:53It's just insane.
00:48:54You have people like saying,
00:48:55oh, they got the doors widened open
00:48:58for you at school.
00:48:59It's just, yeah, it's cruel
00:49:01but I've found that this is my passion.
00:49:06This is what I want to do
00:49:07and I feel the most confident
00:49:09and the most me on stage.
00:49:14Yeah, I love it.
00:49:15I love it.
00:49:16I love it so much.
00:49:19Yeah, I got bullied like crazy.
00:49:22I still am a weird kid
00:49:24and I love being weird.
00:49:25It's like you find as you get older
00:49:28how cool that actually is
00:49:30that you're not average,
00:49:32that you're not like everybody else.
00:49:34And I think being somebody
00:49:36that decides to use their imagination
00:49:40and their gifts that they're given
00:49:43or that they find
00:49:44as a way to create who they are.
00:49:47That's so rewarding in the long run
00:49:49because it's something that you created
00:49:51and I can see that who you are.
00:49:54Yes, there is pain there.
00:49:56Yes, you've gone through that
00:49:57but what I loved about what I just saw
00:49:59was that I didn't feel that pain
00:50:01when I watched you sing.
00:50:02I felt all that light.
00:50:03And so you're taking all of that
00:50:05and you're going,
00:50:06you know what, F you, I don't care.
00:50:08I'm going to keep and save my light
00:50:10and not let anyone touch it
00:50:12because it's mine and it's my creation.
00:50:15And I love that.
00:50:16I think that's beautiful.
00:50:18But light only exists in contrast to dark.
00:50:21Yeah.
00:50:22What I love is just this depth that you have
00:50:24and to me that song wasn't just about you
00:50:27shining your light.
00:50:28You could feel that you had transcended something.
00:50:31You'd fought a battle and won
00:50:33and that's the darkness that I'm talking about.
00:50:36You just said what I just said.
00:50:38But just in a better way.
00:50:41Oh.
00:50:45Are you kidding me?
00:50:47Yeah, I'm kidding.
00:50:48Oh.
00:50:50Oh my God.
00:51:03You just said what I just said.
00:51:04But in a better way.
00:51:07Wow.
00:51:10I'm pushing the Kate block button.
00:51:13Are you serious?
00:51:14Yeah, I've had it.
00:51:18I am pushing it and holding it down, Kate.
00:51:21Oh.
00:51:22Oh, Adam, my God.
00:51:24Oh.
00:51:30That's it.
00:51:33I liked it.
00:51:35Good luck.
00:51:36I'm so sorry, Kate.
00:51:38Oh my God.
00:51:39I see you.
00:51:40And I want everyone else to see you as well.
00:51:42And I think we can do this and do it beautifully.
00:51:45And we're going to have so much fun.
00:51:47It's going to be great.
00:51:58It's going to be so much fun.
00:52:00Yeah, we're going to have a blast.
00:52:02You're going to love it.
00:52:03I swear.
00:52:04Thanks, guys.
00:52:06Oh my God.
00:52:15Oh my God, you're amazing.
00:52:17Look what that damn American did.
00:52:19I know.
00:52:20The way he said, Kate.
00:52:22Yeah, yeah.
00:52:24Adding insult to injury.
00:52:26That's it.
00:52:27I can't wait to get him back.
00:52:29When he least expects it.
00:52:31Friends and family.
00:52:34Oh my God.
00:52:36Oh my God.
00:52:38Nice to meet you.
00:52:39How are you?
00:52:40Yeah, cheers.
00:52:41Hi, Mom.
00:52:42How are you?
00:52:43Oh, you must be so proud.
00:52:45Oh, thank you for the beautiful, kind words.
00:52:48She's been dreaming of this.
00:52:50Oh, yay.
00:52:51Thank you so much.
00:52:53Yes, thank you.
00:52:55I really, the thing that you said up there, what you were speaking about, like it just got me.
00:53:00I'm so excited.
00:53:01I'm so excited.
00:53:03I love it.
00:53:04I love it.
00:53:05I can't believe, like, oh my gosh, I look up to Adam so much.
00:53:08I think he's such an incredible artist.
00:53:10And I'm just so, so excited that he turned and that I get to work with him.
00:53:15And getting a block, like, are you actually serious?
00:53:18I just, oh my gosh, this has been like the best experience of my entire life.
00:53:22I'm obsessed.
00:53:25Oh my God, I can't even deal.
00:53:29All right, ladies and gentlemen, are you ready?
00:53:33Let's give our artists so much love.
00:53:47Last of our lives, yeah.
00:53:50Let's do it.
00:53:52Hey, I'm Jermino.
00:53:53I'm 47 years old.
00:53:55Originally I'm from Mauritius.
00:53:57Mauritius is a small island close to South Africa near Madagascar.
00:54:01It's amazing.
00:54:02Mauritius is delicious.
00:54:08I love reggae music, brother.
00:54:10I love it.
00:54:11It's a people music.
00:54:13It comes from the heart.
00:54:14It's happy music.
00:54:16Got a band called Cool Vibration, I sing with.
00:54:18Together we got a good energy that we give to people and keep spreading love.
00:54:23That's right.
00:54:28I'm going to sing a reggae song actually.
00:54:30Here on The Voice.
00:54:32Bob Marley, Could You Be Loved.
00:54:40Very famous song that everybody knows.
00:54:43I'm going to get those people up on their feet and sing along with me.
00:54:49I really hope that the coach will feel that song, will feel the energy
00:54:53and they will get that chair turned around.
00:54:57I love it, man.
00:55:23Could you be loved
00:55:28And be loved
00:55:33Don't let them fool you
00:55:37Oh no
00:55:41Or even try to school you
00:55:46Oh no
00:55:49We got the mind of our own
00:55:52So go to any point you think this is right
00:55:58Love will never leave us alone
00:56:01In the darkness you must come out to light
00:56:07Could you be loved
00:56:12And be loved
00:56:16Could you be loved
00:56:20Oh no
00:56:21And be loved
00:56:24Could you be, could you be, could you be loved
00:56:26Could you be, could you be loved
00:56:28Everybody say something
00:56:30Reggae, reggae, say something
00:56:32Come on and say something
00:56:34Reggae, reggae, say something
00:56:44Hi.
00:56:47Jermino.
00:56:48Oh, Jermino.
00:56:50Hello.
00:56:51Hi.
00:56:52What's your name?
00:56:53Jermino.
00:56:56You've got a bit of a crew over here.
00:56:58That's my little boys there.
00:57:00Hey.
00:57:01Hello.
00:57:02Hi guys.
00:57:03Oh, they're so handsome.
00:57:04Hey, Dad crushed it.
00:57:05Yeah.
00:57:09Jermino, you started with a bang.
00:57:11The energy was in the room straight away.
00:57:13You've got such a great sounding tone to your voice.
00:57:17It's really such a jam and it's such a vibe.
00:57:19I didn't turn just because I sort of know what I need in my team.
00:57:23But it doesn't mean that you didn't do an incredible job.
00:57:26Thank you so much for gracing us with your time.
00:57:28You're welcome.
00:57:30I feel great.
00:57:31I feel great to see all the people in your family.
00:57:34You know?
00:57:35There was so much love here for you in this room.
00:57:37And that song is great.
00:57:39I love reggae.
00:57:40I actually have a reggae song on my record that Bob's son came on.
00:57:43And Ziggy actually came on and guested on a song on my record.
00:57:48He's amazing.
00:57:49I love Bob.
00:57:50I love his music.
00:57:51You did him completely justice.
00:57:53You did a great job.
00:57:55I thoroughly enjoyed it.
00:57:56I really did.
00:57:57Thank you so much.
00:57:59Look, that was just pure joy.
00:58:01I think with that song choice, it doesn't really give you the opportunity
00:58:06to show different dynamics, different kind of textures in your voice.
00:58:11That's the reason why I didn't turn because it was sort of all one thing.
00:58:14And that thing was very well executed.
00:58:17Don't get me wrong.
00:58:18It was perfect.
00:58:19But I just needed to hear some more shades and colours.
00:58:22That's why I didn't turn.
00:58:23But I loved it.
00:58:24And the crowd were going wild.
00:58:26They were going wild.
00:58:27They were going.
00:58:28I feel like we need to hear it again.
00:58:31I want to see it.
00:58:32I want to see.
00:58:34Do you want to hear it again?
00:58:36Yes.
00:58:40Come on.
00:59:05Wow.
00:59:06That was fantastic.
00:59:07Well done.
00:59:08Congratulations.
00:59:09That was awesome.
00:59:10That was awesome.
00:59:12Great.
00:59:13Great.
00:59:15Thank you so much.
00:59:19I like him.
00:59:20He's so joyful.
00:59:21Yeah.
00:59:23That was so great.
00:59:27Thank you so much.
00:59:28Thank you so much.
00:59:33That was so good!
00:59:35That was so good!
00:59:37Very, very proud.
00:59:39The whole audience was clapping.
00:59:41My dad used to play,
00:59:43like whenever we were out by the pool,
00:59:45like in the summer, like it was just
00:59:47Marley on repeat. And my dad's such a hippie.
00:59:49He was like, this is my jam,
00:59:51this is when I make margaritas with the blender.
00:59:53I love it. That was like, that reminds me
00:59:55of summer at home. It's so nice.
00:59:57I want that right now. I want, right?
00:59:59Pool, margaritas, Bob Marley.
01:00:01Margaritas.
01:00:03Especially the margaritas.
01:00:23I'm Michael. I'm Violetta.
01:00:25We're a couple and we're from
01:00:27Sydney.
01:00:31Definitely inseparable.
01:00:33Music, eat, sing,
01:00:35sleep. But no,
01:00:37we're definitely each other's rocks.
01:00:39It's beautiful.
01:00:41I think you two, wonderful
01:00:43people, you are just amazing.
01:00:45I just put my makeup on, guys.
01:00:47That's it, that's it. I mean, Violetta
01:00:49is everything to me.
01:00:51She's my rock. I mean, she's my eyes.
01:00:53She's, you know, always there to
01:00:55guide me and make sure that
01:00:57I'm in the right spot and not falling into the
01:00:59orchestra pit.
01:01:01I have a rare eye
01:01:03disease and I was deemed
01:01:05legally blind when I was
01:01:07six years old.
01:01:09It does take
01:01:11away your independence.
01:01:13It's a
01:01:15challenge.
01:01:17But in our lives together,
01:01:19I've felt quite limitless
01:01:21because Violetta's always
01:01:23by my side. She's in my
01:01:25world.
01:01:27Yeah. I think you are the
01:01:29most strongest
01:01:31person I've ever met.
01:01:37Being a duo, you've got
01:01:39a lot more to think about when you're
01:01:41singing. We really are relying
01:01:43on each other, so it is hard.
01:01:47I come from an R&B
01:01:49pop background and Michael
01:01:51is classical and it's been
01:01:53really interesting piecing the genres
01:01:55together.
01:01:59I mean, we're taking
01:02:01two of the most extreme genres
01:02:03and putting them together.
01:02:05This is a huge risk, but
01:02:07I hope we do it well.
01:02:25Don't
01:02:27you know
01:02:29I'm no good
01:02:31for you?
01:02:35I'd love
01:02:37to lose
01:02:39your hands
01:02:41if I do.
01:02:45Call me
01:02:47friend, but
01:02:49keep me
01:02:51in your heart.
01:02:53But keep
01:02:55me closer.
01:02:57Okay.
01:02:59And I'll call you
01:03:01when the
01:03:03party's over.
01:03:09It's cold
01:03:11and I'm on
01:03:13my own.
01:03:15Oh, I
01:03:17can't lie to you, I like it like that.
01:03:19Like it like that.
01:03:23Oh, I can't lie
01:03:25to you, I like it like that.
01:03:27Like it like that.
01:03:31Oh, I can't lie to you,
01:03:33I like it like that.
01:03:35Like it like that.
01:03:37Oh,
01:03:39I can't lie to you,
01:03:41I like it like that.
01:03:43Like it like that.
01:03:53Beautiful!
01:04:05Oh, cute!
01:04:07Four chair turn!
01:04:09Wow! Beautiful!
01:04:13I'm Michael and this is Violetta.
01:04:15We're a couple on the stage and off the stage.
01:04:17And we're from Sydney.
01:04:19Wow!
01:04:21You moved me to tears.
01:04:23You really did.
01:04:25Your connection on stage,
01:04:27you could just tell there was so much love
01:04:29between the two of you and to see you
01:04:31singing together was so magical.
01:04:33This song's actually really special
01:04:35to us because it's the first song that
01:04:37we ever performed together
01:04:39and it was on the first day that we met.
01:04:41Oh, wow!
01:04:43Wait, the first day you met you performed together?
01:04:45So the first day that we met,
01:04:47Michael pulled me up on stage with him.
01:04:49In front of
01:04:51Andrea Bocelli, by the way.
01:04:53Oh, my God!
01:04:55What a moment!
01:04:57I love that.
01:04:59Andrea Bocelli and myself,
01:05:01we actually share not just
01:05:03music in common but we are both
01:05:05legally blind as well.
01:05:07Oh, wow!
01:05:09It was so special to perform
01:05:11that in front of him with the love
01:05:13of my life.
01:05:15You got me crying again.
01:05:17I mean, seriously.
01:05:19I love that song so much. I've never heard it done like that.
01:05:21You guys took it to a whole other level.
01:05:23Your voices sound absolutely incredible
01:05:25together. You already are creating magic together.
01:05:27I think we could create magic together.
01:05:29I would absolutely
01:05:31love to work with both of you.
01:05:35That means the world.
01:05:37So you've got a classical background?
01:05:39I do, yeah. I studied opera in Italy.
01:05:41I connect with that deeply.
01:05:43I also come from a classical
01:05:45background and have taken that
01:05:47into the world of pop music.
01:05:49I think it's something that not
01:05:51everyone can understand and sometimes
01:05:53it can go badly wrong.
01:05:55There's a fine line.
01:05:57I hate the word popera.
01:05:59It's one of my least favourite words.
01:06:01I mean, it's been given a bad
01:06:03name but I think there's so much
01:06:05scope to put
01:06:07that drama, that
01:06:09operatic heft
01:06:11into the world of pop music.
01:06:13I think it would be so exciting
01:06:15for me to work with you guys on that.
01:06:17I loved it. I'd love to have you
01:06:19on my team. Thank you.
01:06:25I've been known to dabble into the classical
01:06:27as well, by the way.
01:06:29A little mystery.
01:06:31A mystery.
01:06:33I can sing in Italian, what?
01:06:35That was
01:06:37really beautiful and technically
01:06:39speaking, there was a point in the
01:06:41climax of the song, you guys held this
01:06:43big note together and then at the same
01:06:45time, they crescendoed.
01:06:47That's hard.
01:06:49That is really hard to do and you were blended
01:06:51so perfectly. I mean, just on a technical
01:06:53level, that was really, really impressive.
01:06:55Thank you. That makes the world.
01:06:57I want to
01:06:59remind you that I was the first to turn.
01:07:03I would love to work with you guys.
01:07:05You're so special.
01:07:07Thank you so much.
01:07:11I will be really specific with
01:07:13what I see as a coach.
01:07:15Granted, I've only seen one thing.
01:07:17I think it's all about
01:07:19those feelings because they're authentic.
01:07:21It's about celebrating love,
01:07:23celebrating life.
01:07:25I see a show where it's just
01:07:27really emotive, dynamic
01:07:29songs where you're backed by
01:07:31this incredible
01:07:33ocean of sound behind
01:07:35and you're just making people cry and laugh.
01:07:37That's what I see. I would love you on
01:07:39Team Guy. Thank you so much.
01:07:43Alright, choice time.
01:07:45This is so hard.
01:07:59Thank you so much for turning around.
01:08:03But I think we'll have to go.
01:08:17I love it.
01:08:19Four chair turn.
01:08:21Alright, choice time.
01:08:23This is so hard.
01:08:43This person's up there yelling out every name.
01:08:45I hear you.
01:08:47That same voice
01:08:49went, Guy, Leanne, Kate,
01:08:51Adam.
01:08:53Come on! They know they're going to get it right
01:08:55one way or the other, right?
01:08:59Thank you so much for turning around.
01:09:01Thank you. We love
01:09:03all of you.
01:09:11But I think we'll have to go with Leanne.
01:09:13Oh my god, yes!
01:09:17I'm so happy.
01:09:19We love you all though.
01:09:21Thank you so much.
01:09:23Oh my gosh.
01:09:27I'm so excited.
01:09:29It's so nice to meet you.
01:09:31So nice to meet you.
01:09:35I'm not going to be proud of you.
01:09:37You're definitely going to. It's going to be great.
01:09:39Yay, congratulations.
01:09:43Come on, just go.
01:09:55I just adore their love.
01:09:57His voice is so cool.
01:09:59Even though it's classical,
01:10:01he can sing pop.
01:10:03Slip into anything.
01:10:05They could sell albums instantly.
01:10:13Congratulations.
01:10:15Oh my gosh.
01:10:17Congratulations.
01:10:19That was mind-blowing.
01:10:21We're so proud of you guys.
01:10:23Neither can I.
01:10:29Oh, Michael and Violetta
01:10:31were so stunning.
01:10:33They just exude love on stage.
01:10:35The tears that came with their story
01:10:37and their performance,
01:10:39they just totally had my heart.
01:10:41I feel great.
01:10:47Um,
01:10:49that was pretty rough.
01:10:51Foiled by Leanne.
01:10:53Look, it never gets
01:10:55any easier pitching against
01:10:57these other coaches.
01:10:59It's brutal. I think it's only going to get more intense,
01:11:01the competition.
01:11:03Leanne better watch her back because
01:11:05I'm going to get my revenge.
01:11:07It's not funny.
01:11:09Bad move.
01:11:11Watch yourself.
01:11:17Next time on The Voice.
01:11:19I get really excited
01:11:21about discovering new artists.
01:11:23I really want to push hard
01:11:25so that somebody's dream
01:11:27comes true.
01:11:29For anyone
01:11:31who's ever dared to dream.
01:11:33Starting singing six months ago
01:11:35and now to be here on The Voice,
01:11:37it's, um,
01:11:39I couldn't have planned this in my wildest dreams.
01:11:41More hopeful
01:11:43of the future.
01:11:45More hopeful
01:11:47artists put their talent.
01:11:49It's a stage that I've dreamed of since I was a little boy.
01:11:51And their voices.
01:11:53This is really an opportunity for me to make
01:11:55the dream of mine come true.
01:11:57On the line.
01:12:01And which artist
01:12:03has the coaches
01:12:05all fired up?
01:12:07That was freakishly good.
01:12:09I'm living the hell out of life right now.
01:12:11You are a powerhouse.
01:12:13I would try and find that world
01:12:15for you. I feel like I would not
01:12:17want to make you a clone of Post Malone.
01:12:19Spicing up.
01:12:21You should be your own self.
