00:00Welcome. It is a Friday. I don't usually do lives on Friday, but we have a special guest
00:11that is joining me today. McKellie Mack from Season 2 of MILF Manor. She's actually a fan
00:18favorite, an unexpected fan favorite, I have to say. I think she was definitely different
00:23from the other ladies on the show, and I think that that was a breath of fresh air. So we're
00:29going to get some insight. Hi. Hi, Pajama Mama. We're going to get some insight on the
00:35show, McKellie's life in general, what she's got going on now, and everything in between.
00:41Because we saw online that she and Darren aren't together anymore. That was a story
00:47that was circulating. So we're going to dig into that as well. I think it's important
00:52that we hear it straight from Kellie herself. We don't really know specifically what happened.
00:58I think they did a live together with Ty Rae from 90 Day Fiancé, also the single life.
01:07Right after they did that live together, it was announced that they weren't together anymore.
01:12So I don't really know specifically what happened. So we're going to get into that too. We're
01:17just waiting for Kellie to join. I know she is. Hello from Colorado. Oh, wow. Hello. Happy
01:24dog 1805 from Colorado. Beautiful, beautiful place. I've only been once or twice. I remember
01:31that it was very beautiful to see. So I'm going to see. Let me invite Kellie. Oh, she's
01:39not in here yet. All right. So we're going to give her a couple minutes. I think she's
01:42on the West Coast. So it's about 4-ish over there. So we're going to wait for her to join.
01:49And then we're going to get started. We have like an hour or so. So hopefully we can get
01:55as many questions answered as possible because, you know, I have to say I posted a story asking
02:04for people to send in questions and I got so many questions. So I'm hoping that we're
02:10able to get to as many of those as possible. I've sent an invite to Kellie. I don't see
02:17her yet. Maybe she is wrapping up. I think she also had another podcast interview today
02:22as well. Maybe she's wrapping up something. So we're going to give her a couple more minutes
02:27and hopefully we can get started soon. So if everybody watched season one and season
02:36two in here of MILF Manor, you guys would agree that season one and season two were
02:41very different, right? I do believe that they changed the format of the show and they
02:47changed I feel like it got a little more tame, which I thought was a good thing. And oh,
02:53before we get into that, everything as well. I'm so glad that she was able to join us on
03:04here on the George Mosse show because, you know, I've been obsessed with this show. So
03:08Hello.
03:09Hello, hello everybody! I came back to the house! Woohoo! Hi George!
03:18How are you? We're so glad to have you.
03:21Welcome to my life.
03:23Well, we're gonna get really personal and we're gonna ask you so many questions. I posted
03:30a story and I wanted to know what people wanted to know and I have an endless list. We're
03:35not going to get to all of it. But there are so many people that are just so interested
03:39in you and your life and how you ended up on this show. And so I want to start off with
03:44some fun questions right now. So if we were to look at your playlist on your phone, who
03:50are you listening to right now? Like what is your favorite artist? And it could be someone
03:54from now or a classic.
03:57All right. I love new country music, everyone. I do have a little country in me. As I get
04:06older, I really appreciate, you know, the authenticity and vulnerability of the lyrics.
04:10I love Chris Stapleton. I love Jelly Roll. Lainey Wilson, one of my favorites. Dan and
04:21Shay. I mean, the list just keeps going. I hope to go to one of the concerts that are
04:26coming to Phoenix, Arizona this fall.
04:30Your playlist sounds a lot like mine. A lot of people don't know, but I really do love
04:34country music, too. I grew up in the South in Louisiana. So country music is a part of
04:39it was definitely a part of, you know, the culture of growing up in the South. And you're
04:44right, the authenticity of the music. And it's just listening to real people tell stories
04:49about their life. I think that's so important. Yeah. Pop music is great. Yeah. It's it's
04:54fake. It's plastic, you know. So what would be your favorite movie of all time? For me,
04:59it's Miss Doubtfire. So what's a movie that you watch, even if it was as a kid? I watched
05:04that as a kid, but I could still watch it. And I know every single word. So what's a
05:07movie that always?
05:08Wow. Okay, well, the all time favorite, guys. I came to America in 75. Not a word of English,
05:18just case in point with, you know, just the music feeling in my heart. And that is Saturday
05:24Night Fever. And yeah, yeah, Mamma Mia, Forrest Gump, Grease. It's just the list just keep
05:34going. Titanic. Yeah, those are all good. I can't argue with any of those. Those are
05:40all amazing. So I want to ask you this question. Are you shocked at how many people watched
05:47MILF Manor? Because it's a huge phenomenon. I don't think people realize that. So when
05:52you went on the show, did you expect this many people to be watching?
05:55That's a great question, George. You know, before I was cast for the show, I never heard
06:02of it. So I researched it after, you know, the, you know, season two wrapped. And yeah,
06:09to my surprise, that there are so many people interested in MILF Manor season two. And I
06:18think the season is definitely a different vibe, even though it's still based on, you
06:24know, the Cougar and the Younger Men.
06:27So I want to ask you about that. If you were involved in MILF Manor season one, would you
06:32have had reservations? Because like you said, they tamed it down. They toned the subject
06:37matter and everything down a lot. Would you have actually done the show? Or do you feel
06:41like this was the better version of the show for you?
06:45I love that question. And that is, anyone that knows me knows I'm pretty traditional,
06:51very conservative, but not super conservative. But I'm not in a place in my life where I'm
06:57very comfortable with myself. So I know my boundaries, and I know not to stretch it too
07:03too far. So you know, season one, no, I would have probably left. But season two, I do like
07:13the twist. And I do like that they brought somebody in, you know, to spice things up,
07:19to spice things up. And I am so grateful that they did. And there were so many fun twists
07:25on season two.
07:26There was. A lot of people said, oh, it's not the same show. But I did feel like they
07:31kept it really interesting. I really did like the twist. So all of your admirers, I call
07:36your fans your admirers, they all were sending me messages and questions. And they said that
07:42you were the one that brought class to the house. So I was like, that's a really good
07:47compliment to put for a show called MILF Manor, right? Because they're like I said, season
07:51one, there wasn't a whole lot of class going on. So I was like, I wanted to make sure you
07:55were aware that your fans were like, well, Kelly Mack is the class this season. She made
08:00sure that she kept things classy. And I like how you stuck to your your boundaries, right?
08:07Like you, there are certain parts of the show, you didn't feel like you wanted to participate
08:12in. And I love that about you, because you're so authentic. And you're not going to stretch
08:17your morals, you know, just just for followers on Instagram. So your admirers really admire
08:23that about you.
08:24Thanks, guys. My fans are so respectful and so loyal. I just can't thank them enough for
08:33accepting me for who I am.
08:35Oh, that's sweet. That's sweet. So what crossed your mind to do the show? Like, how did it
08:42happen? Did somebody reach out to you? Did you see it and want to do it like how I love
08:47to hear the origin stories of how this happens? Because usually, it's nothing what we think,
08:52right? Like somebody might have said, Oh, my God, you will be perfect for this show.
08:55And then you're like, Oh, no, I don't want to do that. And then you ended up on the show.
09:00You know, I, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Sometimes you know it.
09:04Now I know it. And sometimes you don't. And, and, you know, there's a silver lining to
09:11everything in life. I learned to look for the good. And I was approached and was told
09:17that you know, it's going to be age appropriate. And I was excited about that. Because I I'm
09:2260 years old, you know, I've done it all, you know, and, and I'm like, okay, why not?
09:28It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. And so I took it. Now, if they were upfront and
09:35told us all you know, what the show was about, I didn't even know what that meant until the
09:42night before. And so my jaw and my eyes got big. And, and, yeah, so it was a little bit
09:49too late. And I guess if it was if it was like season one, it would never have worked
09:57for me. So yeah, everything happens for a reason.
10:00Yeah, I've heard a lot of people who've been on this show say that they're very, very tight
10:05lip on what you're actually getting into. And that's kind of scary. Because when you
10:10do have morals and boundaries, and you have like certain things that are beyond your realm
10:15of comfortability, it's very scary to sign a contract and say you're going to do something
10:20and they don't tell you what you're actually doing. Like for instance, I can't swim. So
10:24if anything has to do with the ocean, a cruise ship, a swimming pool, I'm not doing that.
10:29So the idea that you had to sign on to something and you weren't even sure what you were getting
10:33into. It's very brave, right? It's very brave of you. Like, honestly, I don't even know
10:38if I'll be able to do that.
10:40Yeah, for sure. You know, the the the contract was like a book. And you went through like
10:46vigorous, you know, interviews and auditions. And they went quiet for months. And then they
10:52came back and they're like, Oh my gosh, the network love you, we want you to be a part
10:56of it. So I'm thinking it's age appropriate. And I turned everything over, you know, and,
11:01you know, signed everything, you know, with, you know, you know, with the understanding
11:06this is what I'm signing up for. And so, um, yeah, I think it was meant for me to be on
11:15the season. And I'm forever grateful for the opportunity, and that I was meant to be on
11:21season two, and the experience I will take forever with me. And I've grown quite a bit
11:29in terms of social media following. And though I wasn't in a lot of scenes, I chose not to
11:37be in hot scenes. And I'm grateful that you know, my fans and audiences recognize, you
11:44know, the the person that I am, I'm not any better than anyone, please don't take that
11:49wrong. I just, this is who Kelly is, I came in with the intention to find my person. And
11:57I'm grateful that, you know, the producers, the writers, the directors, they did the best
12:02that they could, knowing what they were doing. They absolutely heard us and did the best.
12:07And, you know, this whole cast was meant to be it was meant for season two.
12:12Really? Because a lot of people said that they didn't like the idea that certain people
12:17came back from season one. So I obviously you guys didn't know that, right? So you that
12:23was all a surprise. Every time somebody showed up at the villa, you guys were like, what's
12:27going on? Who are these people? So how did you feel about that? And a second part, if
12:32season three was to come around, and they wanted you to come back in the house specifically,
12:37maybe to be like, a addition to the house, would you consider something like that?
12:44I would absolutely consider because now I know how capable the writers, the producers,
12:53the network know where they're going. You know, first season, first season was kind
12:57of like trial and error. Second season, I think they did a really good job. Congratulations,
13:02TLC, E1 Entertainment. So I think season three will be even better version than season two.
13:10Yeah, so I would feel confident going in. And I don't know what I would do though. I'm
13:17so, you know, I was either in the kitchen or, you know, just being a good listener to
13:23my co-stars.
13:24Well, one thing that is interesting, like you said, you weren't in a lot of scenes,
13:29but you made a very big impact. Like a lot of people noticed you and they noticed that
13:35you were classy and you were smart and you were intelligent and you weren't just there
13:40because you wanted to be famous, right? Like you were there for-
13:43Yes, that's true. That's so true. And I do appreciate this moment right now, George,
13:51and all the people that are tuning in here on TikTok and Instagram. I do want to clarify,
13:56verify, I am not seeking short term fame, shame. I was there to find my person and whatever
14:05I came out of it is what you make of it. And so that being said, I took it and ran.
14:11And because I'm a fitness guru, part of my bucket list was to have my own bikini line.
14:17Ironically, all of the challenges were in a bikini. And so light bulb moment is like,
14:22okay, America is going to see this, you know, what I really am about. And that is healthy
14:28living and wellness. And I am 60 years old. I don't want to be cocky, but I want to be
14:40confident, you know, and say, hey, 60 years old can look like this.
14:45I think that this show is, I know it's controversial, but I like the idea that we're making it okay
14:51for women to date younger because it's for decades, centuries, men have been allowed
14:57to do whatever they want when it comes to dating, right? They can date a younger woman,
15:00older woman, whatever they want to do. But when a woman does it, it's this taboo situation.
15:05They're like, oh, wow, can you imagine? And I like the fact that we're finally getting to the
15:10point where we can normalize just everybody being of legal age and doing things that they want to
15:16do. And it's okay. And I think that this show has shown that, you know, men and women, it's okay.
15:23We can stop judging people based on the age of the person that they fall in love with and just
15:27let them be in love. If everybody is of age and everyone is contenting and happy, we should cut
15:33that judgment. So I want to talk about this little situation that happened because you went live with
15:39Tyrae, with Darren, and everything was great. And then all of a sudden, we saw a post that you and
15:46Darren were going in separate directions. And we're very, very confused because we are very,
15:52we were rooting for you. We were engaged in this relationship. We felt like we were a part of this
15:57relationship. So we're a little shocked. But we know that if you both made that decision,
16:03there's a good reason. But we just kind of want to know a little bit of insight. What happened?
16:08Or did anything not? Did you just decide it was best? Or did something happen?
16:15You know, again, because of my personality and where I've been and where I am today,
16:20I have a lot of, you know, my bar is high. I don't have a lot of room, you know, for
16:29games. And I have respect for myself and I really have respect for my co stars. I really don't
16:37really want to know what happened other than I felt like it was best for me, you know, to move
16:45on because I have a business that I'm running. I'm launching and I'm being given a lot of
16:49opportunities. And I didn't want to waste, you know, the opportunities and focus on something
16:55that's not ready to take on the next level. And so for Darren and I, we will always be friends.
17:04We're still friends and very respectful. I really don't want to tap into it with Darren or even
17:11on social media, other than just accept that I chose to move on and I wish everybody well.
17:20And I mean that with my entire heart. You know, if everybody is happy, the world would be a beautiful
17:27place. I love that. I love the way you explain that because it's clear that there's no ill will
17:34because we literally were seeing you guys interact and we can tell that there's definitely no ill
17:38will. And I love when two mature adults can make a decision and move forward and be happy and still
17:46stay friends. It shows your character and it shows who you are. And I think that because I hate when
17:52I see relationships end and then they're posting horrible things about each other. You know, we saw
17:57that actually with season two of Milk Manor with some other cast members. Their relationship ended,
18:02which is totally fine. You know, nobody was engaged or married, so that was fine. But we saw
18:06such ugly, nasty bio posts. And I love that you were able to, in a very classy way, you know,
18:13explain why this relationship is not going to move forward and you're going to focus on
18:17your business. So I want to talk about the business because a lot of people
18:21didn't know that you're a businesswoman and you're launching a bikini line. So let's get
18:26into the Kelly Mac business side of things. Tell me everything that you have going on.
18:30Well, I've always been passionate and I live what I preach. And it's why you saw a few scenes,
18:38me being in the kitchen, you know, living a healthy lifestyle that I shared with my co-stars.
18:45And then it became like, we're not going to go on camera. Our day won't start until Kelly comes down
18:52and make us a smoothie. So yeah, I've always been in the health and wellness business. And I started
18:59and I had my own studios in New York and I still practice it. So I started when I was 14 years old.
19:06I became a professional in the 2000s and now it's been 25 years and I plan on being, you know,
19:14that little old lady from Pasadena that's going to, you know, still move and dance and groove.
19:20And I think it's a genuine and a beautiful light from within. And that is something that I seek to
19:27have versus the superficial layer, because we can put it all together, but if we're not happy
19:33from within, people can feel it and see it. Yeah, you're right. There's, I hear the saying
19:40all the time, someone can be gorgeous and beautiful, but if they don't feel that way
19:45and exude that from the inside, it changes the full perception of people. And I also love what
19:51you do is teaching healthy lifestyle to people because a lot of people, especially in America,
19:57this is not taught to us. Like the foods that we're given, the processed foods, the things that
20:02are regulated and allowed to be given to us, even to children, it's not even food, right? So the idea
20:10that you want to help people choose the right foods to put in their bodies, put in their children's
20:15bodies and build that lifestyle, I think that it's a beautiful thing because a lot of people are like,
20:20oh, everyone's a fitness influencer. Everyone is, you know, they're into the healthy lifestyle, but
20:25everyone needs to be, because if we just eat the food that's in the grocery store and
20:30expect to be healthy, we are in for a horrible, horrible life, right? So I love the idea that
20:37you've made something that is a big part of your life, something that you want to do and give to
20:42other people. Like it's almost like a gift, right? Like you learn the good way to eat, the good way
20:47to exercise and maintain your health, because let's be honest, you don't look anywhere near
20:5260 years old. Like, let's just be honest.
20:54Aw, thank you, George. Thank you. I think it's maybe my aura, you know, my energy that doesn't,
21:01you know, come across like a little 60-year-old woman.
21:03Well, I don't get old woman at all. Like honestly, if I saw you out in a club, I would feel like
21:09you were the same age as everybody there, you know? Like it's true, your aura, the energy and
21:16vibes you give out don't give old in any way, nothing about you gives old. So I don't even like
21:21that word because I feel like old is a negative word, you know? And I think that people use that
21:27to make people feel bad about their age. And I hate that. I think that your age is whatever you
21:32feel. If you feel like you're 35, then you're 35, right? Like, I feel like age is, we may,
21:38it's such a negative aspect, right? Like when people first meet someone, they're like,
21:43how old are you? And I was like, see, I don't like that. That's like asking someone,
21:46how much do you weigh? You know, like, I feel like that is such a personal thing to ask.
21:50Get to know that person and decide how old you think that they are, right? Like, I hate that.
21:55Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I developed my own Pilates method. This is way before the explosion,
22:01Pilates explosion. And I practiced it since I was a little girl, like 14 years old.
22:08And then I just created my own practical, you know, understanding the fundamentals and how your
22:14body works. Then I just created my own simple method. And, and to this hour, I'm still getting
22:21requests from wives and husbands and sons and daughters, because, you know, initially when
22:27people look at me, they don't think that I'm a trainer because I don't walk around with chisel,
22:31you know, you know, arms or, you know, physique. I am very toned. And it's more an attractive
22:39presentation to a lifestyle. So I get a lot of people that are interested in just how getting
22:46help, you know, guided through a lifestyle versus just something that's short term. And I think that
22:52is why I continue to get these opportunities because I represent what I love. And so that
22:59started back in the 2000. And, and then recently, I just added the Kelly Mack bikini line.
23:08Well, that's amazing. One more question about TV. Was this the first time you ever ventured
23:14into TV? Because everyone, all of the questions that I got, they were like, she's such a personality,
23:20this couldn't possibly be the first time she was on TV. Were you ever on TV in the past?
23:24Yes, I was on TV back in the 80s, back on 18 Beverly Hills 90210. I say by the bat, I mean,
23:35John, the 80s. I just I've been there done that and then lots of films. Again, I was it's not
23:42something that I want to become. It's always been there living in Los Angeles. It was opportunities
23:50that I couldn't resist, because now I know what it's like. And then, you know, in the 2000,
23:56I was married to a very big film director. So that, oh, so that explains a lot, because this
24:04is not a new group for you to be around. And then that shows like you carry yourself in a very
24:10professional way, like you've interacted, and you've done this type of stuff before. And you
24:15definitely look like someone who's been on TV. So it was a good guess when people were like,
24:23you look like you've been on TV before, because you were. So when you did do the TV shows and
24:28stuff, did you get joy out of acting? Or was it just something that you wanted to try?
24:34You know, I'm a type of person that if I am wanting to know what is down the other side of
24:42the door, yeah, I'm going to open that door. And so again, I was I'm not inspired to you know,
24:49or aspire to be an actress. I just was more curious. And out of curiosity, I was given all
24:56these opportunities. And I took it and ran with it, learn from it is very unique. It takes a lot
25:02of people to give you 45 minutes, 48 minutes of entertainment. And so my respect and appreciation
25:10go to people that are not on screen as much as the ones that are on screen.
25:15That is so true. It takes when I think I learned when I was younger at the end of a movie,
25:21when they showed the credits, and it was like 15 minutes of just named it. And I was like,
25:27good God, there's so many people that made this happen. Yeah, right. So yeah.
25:33Yeah, especially in the, you know, big office, you know, films, there's just hundreds and then
25:39locations and, and, you know, the executives and it's just a lot in the stunts. And it's just a
25:47lot of work, you know, to give us an hour, two hours on the big, you know, big screen.
25:52It is a lot of work. So, okay, so I want to ask you about friendships that you may have made
25:58in this unique experience, because a lot of people say a traumatic experience or a very
26:03unique experience can build a lifelong bond. So did any of the ladies or guys from the house
26:10build a strong friendship with you or vice versa? Because I know this was a very different
26:15situation for all of you to be in. And a lot of times when you're in a very unfamiliar,
26:19uncomfortable situation, you kind of cling on to the people that you bond with the most. So
26:24are there any friends that you feel like you made lifelong in this experience?
26:29You know, that's another very good question. Again, I was the oldest Milt. And so I came
26:37with life experiences. And again, I'm not any better than anyone. It's just it gave me,
26:44you know, the edge to learn how to be diplomatic, you know, and knowing what I want,
26:51and knowing when to, you know, want to be on a scene and knowing when I don't want to be on a
26:56scene. So I was staying very focused. And I wanted to just be very, very methodical.
27:03And I was friends with everyone doesn't mean I'm perfect. I'm sure you know,
27:08there's misunderstandings and, you know, communications, but I, I would be very
27:14surprised if any of my cast members have anything negative to say about me, other than she's a
27:19little bit quirky. And she's, she's a little bit conservative. And, but, you know, I, I,
27:26I talked to everybody and anyone that, you know, wants to talk to me from the cast. And so no,
27:32there's not one BFF that I found on the show, it would have been nice, but that's okay. I have,
27:39you know, an incredible experience. And now I have friends, you know, from Milt, you know,
27:45season Milt Manor season two.
27:47Yeah, yeah. I mean, building friendships is very important. You know, BFFs, that's,
27:51that takes years, you know, so I get it. Y'all were only there for a short amount of time,
27:56right? You weren't there long enough to build that, that lifelong bond. But yeah, you've got
28:01friends from all over the country right now that were on this show with you that shared this
28:05unique experience with you. And I think that's going to be something that you take with you,
28:10like for the rest of your life. Like that's definitely something that you'll never forget.
28:13And I think people who do these, these shows, it's it puts you on a tiny circle of people that
28:19that can really understand what you've been through. And I think that y'all are bonded
28:23just for that specifically.
28:26Right, right. Yeah, I've always been supportive of every single one on the show. And I really
28:32want them to find whatever makes them happy. I want them to find that.
28:36Oh, I love that. So we heard that you were a part of the Mile High Club.
28:42But not just any Mile High Club, the private jet Mile High Club. So I wanted to ask some fun
28:48questions about travel, because I know you're a traveler, you love to travel, experience new
28:53places and cultures. So I want to go through a list of some of the places that you've been to
28:58and visited. And tell me if you if money was no option, and you could move to some beautiful,
29:04exotic place, what place would that be?
29:07First of all, I want to congratulate you, George. I knew you were unique. I am so grateful that you
29:16are asking questions, because I can tell you those questions are because you took the time
29:21to do some research on me. And so I appreciate that. They're very original. Thank you so much.
29:29Yes, I love to travel my new hobby. Now at this stage, I want to collect memories with my daughter,
29:36my family, you know, a few good friends, because at the end of our life,
29:40it's not about things. It's how I you know, I make people feel, you know, how my legacy is to
29:48hope that everyone that remembers me to say you know what, she was actually a really kind,
29:53authentic, strong woman of faith.
29:57Amen. That is that is it's you're so it's so interesting, because when I was talking to
30:02somebody about this recently, because I was like, at the end of life, you go to a service and people
30:07try to sum up your whole life in like an hour, right? And there's like an obituary and there's
30:12like a service and it's like, how can you possibly think of summing up someone's life, but it's very
30:17possible because I've had people that I loved passed away. And we were able to show the beautiful
30:23human soul that they were in that short amount of time. So I think that that's so important,
30:29you know, that you pick your circle of people that are so important to you, and you dedicate
30:33your life to just building those memories and in doing things. So do you and your daughter
30:39travel together a lot? Is that something that y'all have picked up as a hobby together?
30:44Yes, there was a period of 10 years, because I was married to a film director. So we were able
30:50because I was married to a film director. So we were able to just, you know, travel with the film
30:55crew. And they took us everywhere. I'm on my second passport. I was very blessed. I can't
31:02wait to share my memoir with you and all my fans, because that book is going to have you reading
31:09until you see the end of the last page, because the last page is going to leave you feeling
31:17inspired, never give up on yourself. And you are worth it. You are unique. And each of us have
31:24a mission, whatever mission it is, stay on it. And, you know, the journey is not at the end,
31:30but it is the actual periods where you're trekking through life storms that should teach you
31:37something and that you should enjoy the whole process. And so that being said, yes, we love to
31:45travel. Michelle and I love to travel. And if money is not, you know, a concern, George, it
31:51would be I would live Italy and Italy, Greece and Spain and then go back to Vietnam. So there's 12
31:58months I'm going to have to just have to, you know, do some calculations there. And, you know,
32:03there's some Filipinos in my family, I would love to go back to the Philippines. And those are the
32:08people that actually helped me and my family on that journey to America when we were left to die
32:15in South China Sea, that the Philippines were the one that reached out with kindness and try to feed
32:22us and take care of us. But it was it was a short, short encounter. However, that is my recollection
32:32of the Philippines, my feelings for the people. And there's Filipinos in my family, and people
32:39think that I'm Filipinos, and that's okay. That's okay. Why not? Right? It's funny how such a small
32:47act of kindness can have such a lifelong effect on people. And I think a lot of people know that
32:52this world would be such a better place if we just took a couple of moments out of each day,
32:57and just be kind to people and helpful. And if you see someone that needs help,
33:02offer that help. Because it's an amazing story when you hear people
33:06recollect on things and they have such a positive experience with it could be a group of people,
33:12a country, a nation of religion to something that stood out to them. And it took something so small.
33:18And I think that there's so many people in this world.
33:20My grandmother used to say, you know, it's not it's not the things. It's how you make people
33:27feel. And grandmother didn't speak a word of English. But everybody in the neighborhood knew
33:32who Mrs. Mack was. It's because of the actions and the vibe that she gave out was kindness.
33:40And so to this day, anyone that you know, have been blessed to know my grandmother,
33:44would just have, you know, warm feelings about my grandmother. And that's what I
33:49want to leave with everyone that you know, not only was she super kind, you know, that she's
33:56friendly, but she's actually really, really down to earth and really want the best for everyone.
34:03Oh, I love that. I love her already. I wish I could have met her. I love her already. She
34:08sounds amazing. So yeah, one quick question. When you told your daughter, Michelle, you were doing
34:14the show, what was her initial reaction? I'm sure that she was, well, wait, was she shocked?
34:20Or was she not shocked? That's the real question. Well, there's two folds to that, George, because
34:27I left and we were told very strict orders, you know, and I her and I are very close. So when I
34:36said I was cast for TLC show, age appropriate, and this is where mom's going to find my love in
34:43northern light, right? Northern love. And so she's thinking I'm going to Canada, you know,
34:50age appropriate show. And I said, that's all I know. That's all I'm going to give you. I am going
34:55to be in Canada. This is the location. And that's all she knew. She didn't know of the show until
35:02they contacted her as a surprise to me. Wow. So she, at least to say she was very surprised, right?
35:10Because would she, would Michelle say this was out of character for you, this type of environment?
35:17Yes, she would say, yeah, my mom is very outgoing. She's very friendly. You know,
35:22she's very open minded. However, you know, this is a little bit of a stretch for my mom,
35:27for sure. You know, I mean, I do get approached by younger men, but I never say yes, you know,
35:34I never take that for, you know, seriously, because, you know, I, my daughter's 28. That's,
35:39I'm just speaking for me. Like you said earlier, it might work for someone else, who am I to judge?
35:45So was she happy with what happened at the end of the show? Because you did leave the show in a
35:52relationship, you know, unfortunately, it didn't work out. But was she happy with your choice?
35:57Because I know it's important that she's approving of the relationships and everything. So how did
36:03she feel about it? Was she happy? Was she excited? Was she, you know, worried? You know,
36:09what kind of emotions was she feeling? Because that's the best way to see how your decisions are,
36:16or to ask Michelle, right? Because she would be that person who approves.
36:19That's another good question. Because, you know, when, you know, when you raise a good son or good
36:25daughter, when the table is turned around, and now they have your back, and she even helps me dress,
36:31she's like, Mom, you can wear this, you can wear that. So you can tell that she's grown, you know,
36:35now she's playing that protective role. And again, she's so significant in my life. She's
36:41relevant in my life. She is my why I fight to be my best version, and, and inspire her, you know.
36:50So, yeah, she, she did a really good job. She walked in and everyone's like, and then they're
36:55like, Oh, that's Kelly Mac's daughter. Oh, my gosh. And she had a mission. She stayed focused.
37:03And she interviewed Darren, and she did a wonderful job. And at the end of it, she's like,
37:09you know, as long as my mom's happy, there's no red flags. You know, I am here for my mom,
37:14and I'm going to cheer her on. And yes, she gave her thumbs up on Darren.
37:19Oh, that's beautiful. I love to hear that. I love that. I know that
37:23you made it pretty clear. You were like, my daughter would have to approve of this person.
37:29So, I know that you're very, very busy. You have a lot going on. But would you be
37:34open to meeting anyone right now? Or are you just super focused on your business? Like how,
37:39what, if it was, if somebody was to approach you and ask you out on a date, would you be
37:44open to that? Or do you feel like you just have so much going on? You want to focus on yourself?
37:50Another great question, George. Another great question. They're very relevant questions.
37:57You know, ever since the announcement, I actually was very, I was, I was nicely surprised
38:06that an actual professional athlete, a football player, and he is younger, but not 20. He's in
38:15his 30s, maybe in late 30s, actually DM me. And I, again, I'm a type of person where, you know,
38:24it doesn't, to me, you're a human being, I'm a human being, if you approach me, I'm going to
38:28acknowledge you. Whether I'm interested in dating you or not, I'm going to acknowledge you and thank
38:33you for taking the time to reach out to me. And so yeah, we exchange it, you know, a few messages,
38:39and we're choosing because I'm choosing to stay focused on my growth. And so yeah, I get approach
38:47and I was very gracious about it. And I felt like, wow, what a nice surprise. I didn't expect
38:54that. But you know, at this point, I, I there's so much on my to do list. If the person is someone
39:03that I felt like, OMG, George, this might be the person. Sometimes when it rains, it pours and you
39:10hope it to be a blessing. And you know it when you know it, you know it when you know it. So
39:16no, yeah, yeah. So my door, my heart is open. But as busy as sometimes you feel like you are,
39:24he might just show up, she might just show up. So that being said, if that person is meant for me,
39:30I will make room. If there's a will, there's a way.
39:32I love that. I love that. The saying is, when you're not looking, they show up. So I feel like
39:39now that you're focusing on yourself and your business and your family and travel and doing
39:45the things that you love, that's when that person will fit into that, right? Like,
39:50because when you're looking to date, you're looking to try to fit into another person's
39:53lifestyle. You're looking for someone to fit into your life because your life is already
39:58right. So I think that you're definitely in the right place. And on the right track. Okay,
40:03one last question. One last question before we wrap up. Let's say another reality TV show,
40:09not necessarily TLC, it could be any show reached out to you. And it's for dating.
40:15What would you think? Would you be open to that? Would you feel like I've been there done that?
40:21Like, what would your thought process be? Because you know, there's like The Bachelorette,
40:25there's Love Island, there's like all these different dating shows where everyone is out
40:30looking for love on TV. Do you feel like this is something that you would want to repeat?
40:35Or do you feel like this is something doing it once is enough?
40:40Well, you know, I feel like because this was obviously meant for me to be on this season.
40:47It wasn't truly, you know, fair to me because it wasn't all age appropriate. It was there
40:53were sons and there were dads. And yes, so I found a connection with Darren. However,
40:59if I was given an opportunity where they're all the right age, and I have the whole,
41:05you know, season to myself, absolutely would consider that because I'm I've never been
41:12conventional. I've always been unconventional. And so sky's the limit, right? And just because
41:19one door didn't work out doesn't mean the next door might not be the one. So attitude is really
41:26important, really.
41:29I like that. I feel that you definitely were cheated a little bit when it comes to having
41:36the right information to make because I look at decisions as you can only make a good decision
41:42based on the information given. And you weren't given a lot of information. So you were making
41:47blind decisions. And there weren't a lot of people there, like you said, that were age
41:51appropriate. So you literally only had half of the selection than everyone else. So I would love
41:57to see you on another show. I know that TV is very time consuming, and you have a lot going on. But
42:02I just feel like this is something that you were meant to be like you have that aura about you.
42:07You're so interesting. And you don't have to do anything out of character to keep people
42:13interested in your life. And I think that's what's important. Because you know, we watched
42:16this season and there were people who were fighting and screaming and doing things that
42:19were probably out of character for them because they wanted the camera on them. But you didn't
42:24have to do that. And the camera still followed you everywhere. So I feel like this is something that,
42:29you know, if we see you in the future on TV, I would be very happy to see that.
42:35Yeah, I think this is not, you know, again, it's not something that I would change my career for.
42:41But if there is another opportunity, I would consider it. I just would do a little more,
42:49you know, investigation and making sure that it is what it says.
42:53Absolutely. And, you know, sometimes these shows that they're, they're,
42:57they're deceiving you on purpose, right? Because they want that initial
43:01shock value. Yeah. And you know, this show does a good job.
43:04Well, they got it.
43:05Yep. They did a good job. And you still made the best of it. And I'm just so happy that
43:12you wanted to come on the show. I'm a huge fan. I want to thank you for being here and being so
43:17open and honest with me, right? Like, letting me ask you very, very personal questions,
43:23and you just being so open and honest. I really appreciate it. And again, I wish you nothing but
43:29the best on your businesses in the future. I'm very proud of you. You know, very proud of you
43:33for going out of your shell, your comfort zone and doing something like this. And you've gained
43:39so much interest from the public, right? And I think it's because we know that this wasn't
43:45something that you would specifically do. And you made the absolute best out of the situation.
43:51And that's why we're so just proud of you and in awe of what you've become.
43:57Yeah, I, life challenges, I've learned to make my own kind, quote, unquote, lemonade,
44:05kind lemonade, and see the, you know, the silver lining. And I will take this season that I was on,
44:13you know, and reflect on it with gratitude, and had a great time, had a connection with Darren,
44:19will always be friends. I'm friends with everyone. And so yeah, that we were meant to be on the show,
44:25because we did have that connection. And I don't want, I don't want any negativity, you know,
44:30towards anyone, particularly Darren. Absolutely. I love Darren, too. He's a good guy. His son's a
44:36great guy. And I just, I just love that you are all on good terms, because that's so important.
