Students and teachers around Shropshire are celebrating another year of fantastic A-Level results.
On Thursday, thousands of Shropshire teenagers were finally finding out if all of their hard work had paid off.
While nowadays, students receive their results through email at 8am, many of those at Telford College opted to attend the campus for a results day breakfast and experience the ceremony of the dreaded brown envelopes.
The Wellington-based college celebrated another strong set of results for their students, with the percentage of high-grades pass rates from A* to C rising for yet another year.

00:00I'd like to thank all the staff and students for all their hard work and dedication and
00:04congratulations on a fantastic set of results. Well done everyone.
00:09Here at Talbot College, we're in front of Legal Barrington Wood.
00:12Lawrence, how have they done today?
00:13They've done fantastically well. We're so proud of them, so proud of what they've achieved.
00:17Because if you think about it, this generation of students have really faced some unique
00:21challenges and here we are this morning celebrating some fantastic achievements with so many students
00:28getting into their first choice university, with many students deciding to do apprenticeships,
00:34to go into work. It is amazing. There's been a real buzz around the place and fantastic
00:39to see everyone's hard work pay off. And I pay tribute also to the staff as well, because
00:46the staff have worked incredibly hard to support all of our students to be successful on their
00:52journey with us here at the college.
00:54Just one challenge, as I know this generation kind of would have gone through the bulk of
00:58Covid in their recent education. What has this been?
01:02Well, you know, that's probably the main point that's impacted them as a generation and that's
01:10been, you know, there's been a lot of hard work in the education system to support students
01:15and school pupils to catch up and that work isn't necessarily over. That needs to carry
01:21on. But what we're seeing here is incredible resilience, incredible dedication and a lot
01:28of hard work. And then we can see it all pay off and we can see what this group of students
01:34are really capable of.
01:35Have you got any advice for the young adults leaving you today?
01:38I would say enjoy what you do next. Make sure it's right for you. Don't just do it because
01:44you think that's what you're supposed to do. And if you do go to university, if you do
01:50go to employment, really throw yourself into it. Make the most of that opportunity. Continue
01:56to work hard and I'm sure you'll have a successful time.
