Minister praises ‘resilience’ of A-Level students

Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson praises A-Level students for their “enormous resilience in the face of lots of disruption” during a visit to Loreto College in Hulme. The proportion of A-level entries awarded top grades is up on last year and remains above pre-pandemic levels, national figures show. Report by Blairm. 00:00It's been fantastic to join with young people today collecting their results and to celebrate
00:09their amazing success. They've shown enormous resilience in the face of lots of disruption
00:14and it's a really important day for them. But I also want to pay tribute to the amazing
00:18teachers and staff who've supported them every step along the way because we just could not
00:22do it without the amazing people working in education. I'm so pleased with what the young
00:26people have secured and to hear that they've got great options that lie ahead of them.
00:31For those young people that haven't quite achieved what they needed, there's still lots
00:34of support that's out there and people should make sure they're reaching out and getting
00:38that help.
