00:00But we'll start off with some potential issues with the University of Michigan that we discussed
00:09yesterday.
00:10It seems like that story has percolated into today as well, as the University of Michigan
00:15are going to be facing some sanctions.
00:17In fact, Michigan and five individuals who are currently or previously worked for the
00:22program reached an agreement with the NCAA enforcement staff on violations that are concerning
00:28their coaching activities concerning recruiting and their non-coaching staff members that
00:34occurred within the football program.
00:36The committee issued a statement on April the 16th confirming the resolution of the
00:41case, and Jim Harbaugh was not part of that agreement, so his case was resolved separately.
00:49And right now, the NCAA also has issued a statement, and we're going to give you that
00:56statement here, I believe, in a second here.
00:58There it is, the Division I Committee on Infractions panel determined that former Michigan
01:02head football coach Jim Harbaugh violated recruiting and inducement rules, engaged in
01:06unethical conduct, failed to promote an atmosphere of compliance, and violated head coach responsibility
01:14obligations resulting in a four-year show cause order.
01:20Harbaugh could potentially face a suspension if he returns to coach in college.
01:27It will not affect him in the National Football League, which really is the bottom line as
01:31he takes over for the Chargers this year.
01:33All right.
01:34A very interesting lawsuit has percolated online, which isn't getting attention, and
01:38so we thought we would bring some of it to light.
01:40This is regarding FanDuel, really interesting story, allegedly violating California's privacy
01:45laws that, again, California does not have legalized sports betting by using TikTok's
01:50trap and trace software to track website users.
01:55How about that?
01:56The lawsuit, which was filed last month in the U.S. District Court for the Central District
02:00of California, claims that the software collects user data before cookie consent is given,
02:07and that violates California's trap and trace law using a process called fingerprinting.
02:14The TikTok software, what they do is collect personal data from users who visit the website,
02:19and then the data is matched against existing data that TikTok has already mined from hundreds
02:23of Americans, millions of Americans.
02:25The software then can be used to restructure the user's identity, and that allows the company
02:29to run targeted advertising campaigns.
02:32You know what that's all about, despite not receiving cookie content.
02:36And basically what this means is that they did not have consent to use this via FanDuel,
02:40and at the same time, everybody who's used Instagram, Facebook, or anything else, you
02:44click on something, you know exactly why you're getting ads for that.
02:48Same thing essentially is here as well.
02:50So we'll follow this for you, and of course, our friends at Legal Sports Report will as
02:53well.
02:54Okay, looks like that China is very interested in changing some of the elements to the upcoming
03:00Olympic Games.
03:01Now, again, with the Olympic Games coming to an end, this will affect the next Olympic
03:04Games.
03:05China's anti-doping agency on Thursday has asked the ITA, the International Testing Agency,
03:11to intensify testing of the Americans in track and field.
03:16After sprinter Aryan Knighton tested positive for a banned substance, they've also accused
03:21the U.S. anti-doping agency earlier this week of some double standards, saying that
03:25the U.S. had been trying its best to clear U.S. athletes while using the different methods
03:32of cover-ups in order for them to participate.
03:35So needless to say, upcoming Olympics in the United States in four years.
03:40We'll see if this potentially gets affected.
03:43Also, the Chicago White Sox have made a move, and not a surprising one.
03:47Pedro Grafal, who had 190 losses over the last two seasons, has been dismissed by the
03:54Chicago White Sox.
03:55It was announced this morning, 89 wins, 190 losses, and the largest losing streak in the
04:03history of the American League at 21 games.
04:05That was tied.
04:06So Grafal is out as manager of the White Sox.
04:09All right, back to the Olympics.
04:11Let's go to some results here.
04:12How about Quincy Hall?
04:13What an incredible run for him.
04:14The latest American to electrify the fans in Paris, coming all the way from behind.
04:22Can't show you the video.
04:23That's a shame.
04:24400 meters to reel in three runners and capture the gold medal.
04:26He was in fourth place, came all the way back to finish first.
04:29He beat Matthew Hudson Smith by 0.04 seconds.
04:33How about Noah Lyles at the Olympics?
04:35We've been talking about him quite a bit, right?
04:37He'll race for his second Olympic gold medal.
04:39He finished runner-up on Wednesday in the 200 meter, his first loss at that distance
04:42in three years.
04:43Andre de Grasse of Canada finished third in his heat and did not advance.
04:48Over in women's basketball, Team USA moves on.
04:52They beat Nigeria by the final of 88 to 74.
04:56They're looking for their eighth consecutive and 10th overall Olympic gold medal at the
05:00US Olympics.
05:01Team USA was led by Asia Wilson.
05:04She had 20 points, 10 rebounds, double-double.
05:07Her third of the Paris games was also Wilson's fourth of her career, the most ever by a US
05:12women's player.
05:13How about this new obstacle course sport?
05:16Pentathlon, an outlier at the Olympics, is getting rid of its horse competition at the
05:21Paris games and bringing in a new competition.
05:23It's called American Ninja Warrior.
05:27Sounds familiar.
05:28Sounds like something we see on TV.
05:30It's an obstacle course for the Olympic games in 2028, a new pentathlon that essentially
05:36involves running, swimming, horse riding, shooting, and fencing.
05:43Did you write all that down?
05:45If not, when the Olympics comes back in 2028, I'll tell you all again.
05:49In Major League Baseball, Jackson Holliday, one of the top young prospects and players
05:52in all of Major League Baseball, hit a home run again last night.
05:55It's his third straight game.
05:57He ain't even 21 years old, folks, and he's home run three games in a row.
06:01He did not get off to the best start when he was activated earlier this season for the
06:05Orioles, but after a stint in the minor leagues, he has come back with a vengeance, and his
06:08manager, Brandon Hyde, said it's all about the swing.
06:11He's got a nice swing, and there's a lot of things that work in that swing, and he's got
06:15a lot of confidence, and he really can get on a fast ball, and I just think you see the
06:22confidence growing, honestly, up here at this level.
06:25A little bit of success, and all of a sudden, you start feeling good in the batter's box,
06:29and he's getting some huge hits.
06:31That's three nights in a row, so I'm really happy for him.
06:35Jackson Holliday on fire for the Orioles, but nobody hotter last night in Major League
06:40Baseball than Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies.
06:43Not one, not two, but three home runs in their victory over the Dodgers yesterday.
06:48They were down 4-3, but all of a sudden, they stormed a huge comeback in this one as Schwarber
06:55hit three home runs, and the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Dave Roberts, was thrown
07:00out of the game for arguing balls and strikes.
07:03Not happy with the way things went there.
07:05In terms of afternoon baseball today, we have the Giants and Nationals coming up at
07:09noon Eastern.
07:10Kyle Harrison against DJ Hearst.
07:12Those are the starting pitchers, although weather could be a factor in that game.
07:15The Brewers take on the Braves.
07:16Frankie Montas takes on Charlie Morton.
07:18The Brewers have won the first three games of that series.
07:22Also 12.35 Eastern, it is Padres and Pirates, and Scott Farrell at 3 o'clock Eastern will
07:27give you recaps and highlights of all those games as well.
07:31Over in the National Football League, we've got preseason action tonight.
07:34You ready to, you know, just unload your entire bankroll on this great game between the Panthers
07:41and Patriots?
07:42Total of 34.5, bet it all on one of the sides.
07:47I'm just kidding.
07:48Stay away.
07:49Lions also take on the Giants.
07:51How about the University of Texas going into the season as one of the favorites to win
07:55the Southeastern Conference?
07:56They've lost their running back, CJ Baxter, a knee injury in practice Tuesday.
08:01He's going to have to have season-ending surgery as an MRI revealed posterior collateral ligaments,
08:09LCL PCL tears.
08:11He was the number 30 overall recruit in 2023.
08:14Texas has a good backup, but Baxter's a good running back as well.
08:18Fights in practice.
08:19We're seeing this happen.
08:20Teams need to play against each other and stop fighting against each other.
08:23DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks yesterday, swigging his helmet, getting in fights.
08:27Not good.
08:28Lamar Jackson says that he's lost 20 pounds.
08:30He said he got too fat last year.
08:31Guy looked in great shape to me.
08:33Couldn't we all lose 20 pounds?
08:34We'll be back right after this.
08:35Don't go away.
