00:00Talking about smash mouth and rushes, this just brings me to one particular game on the
00:08Saturday slate and it's going to be the Minnesota Gophers taking on the Michigan Wolverines.
00:12Why?
00:13Because we learned that Michigan's defense is potentially still very much in trouble.
00:17Also we learned that putting up 21 points in the fourth quarter is not going to secure
00:21you a W or would it have if a particular call went another way?
00:26What did you see in this matchup?
00:27Because a lot of concerns still are sounding off when it comes to Michigan and how they'll
00:32be able to get through this season because Orji came in to be a better option over Warren
00:37and while they're not expecting him to use his arm, they want him for his legs.
00:4186 passing yards as a quarterback of a top team like this is not going to cut it.
00:45What did you see?
00:46Yeah, it's a top team but they certainly don't look like the defending champions here.
00:51For the Michigan Wolverines, they get the win 27-24 and really had to fend off that
00:57late burst from the Gophers.
00:59The Gophers put up 21-3 in the fourth so they almost stole this thing in Ann Arbor.
01:04I'll tell you what, that would have been the end of the playoff hopes here for Michigan.
01:09They've been very underwhelming.
01:10We saw it there last week.
01:12Ann Arbor, the big house, far from bouncing but look, they continue to find a bit of momentum.
01:18They're getting these gritty arm wrestle style events but it's really not going to hold on
01:23moving forward there.
01:24Those kind of numbers, especially from your quarterback, it's not good enough.
01:28You can lean on the run game for so long.
01:30For Alex Orji, just to have 86 passing yards with one touchdown, one interception, is he
01:35going to be the answer going forward?
01:37I don't know.
01:38I look at this display and what I did see out there in the field this afternoon, it
01:41looks like we now have more questions than answers asked after week five.
01:46I guess it was great for Marlings to get it going with the run game.
01:49Again, he's been an absolute workhorse for Michigan.
01:52They know that.
01:53They can lean on that but in terms of the passing threats and trying to spread that
01:56field, it's not easy and I'll tell you what, it gets a lot easier for a lot of other top
02:00teams, you know, ranked opponents as we move through the rest of the season in trying to
02:05go up against the Wolverines because they know that there's absolutely no presence,
02:09no intimidation from that quarterback position and I don't think it's good enough.
02:13Right.
02:14And to put that into perspective, I mean, down the stretch here, they have a number
02:18of teams.
02:19Washington can be problematic.
02:20You've got Illinois, you've got Michigan State that needs to turn things around, Oregon not
02:23too far behind, Indiana Northwestern and then Ohio State.
02:26So Michigan has questions to answer and not much time to find solutions.
