00:02 - We got the word that the most bet college football game
00:07 of the season was Michigan, Ohio State.
00:10 This is according to DraftKings.
00:11 And it ranked up there as far as the most bet games
00:15 of all time since sports betting has been legal
00:18 over on DraftKings.
00:19 So I guess we should not be surprised
00:21 that this is probably a contributor to why Michigan
00:25 is doing so well in sports betting.
00:26 And it even goes back to October, Jim.
00:29 So all the success that the Wolverines have had
00:32 is clearly, you know, spurning some sports betting.
00:35 The Lions are doing very well.
00:37 And I think it's really easy to point to success
00:39 of the local teams that gets people online
00:41 that wanna back them.
00:42 - Yeah, for sure.
00:44 We've talked about that a handful of times
00:47 over the last couple of weeks,
00:48 where we're talking about states with teams
00:52 that are having a good run of success.
00:54 And, you know, as we know, it does help boost handle
00:59 as the fans are excited to find another way
01:03 to back their team.
01:05 And in Michigan in October,
01:08 we saw four of the online sports betting apps
01:13 post pretty solid months.
01:15 And all of that combined contributed
01:17 to a record setting month of handle overall
01:22 in Michigan at $533 million.
01:28 FanDuel, they topped the list,
01:30 173.4 million bet through the FanDuel app
01:34 in Michigan in October.
01:36 That's a record for any individual operator
01:40 in Michigan sports betting history.
01:42 DraftKings, they set their own individual,
01:45 you know, personal best with $147.4 million
01:50 bet through their app in October.
01:53 Caesars posted nice gains in October, as did BetRivers.
01:58 The little caveat for those last two, though,
02:01 they did end up losing money.
02:03 The bettors got the best of Caesars and BetRivers
02:08 in Michigan in October.
02:10 They ended up losing money there.
02:13 And as we've known, and as we've touched on
02:16 in a variety of markets,
02:19 October was the last full month
02:21 that sports bettors will see
02:24 the Barstool Sportsbook app in Michigan.
02:28 They are, as you know,
02:29 they were just rebranded to ESPN Bet.
02:34 They had $20.5 million in handle in October in Michigan,
02:38 pretty flat with September.
02:40 And as we know, the parent company, Penn Entertainment,
02:45 really stopped promoting the Barstool Sportsbook app
02:49 and that brand entirely once they cut ties
02:53 with Barstool over the summer.
02:55 So no real surprise there.
02:57 And, you know, we'll look to the future here in November
03:01 and beyond to see what sort of ground
03:05 the ESPN Bet app can stand on.
03:09 Also in Michigan in October,
03:11 we saw Fanatics bump their handle
03:13 as they continue to put more months under their belt
03:17 as they are open for all customers now
03:20 after a fairly extended beta testing period there.
