00:00Kansas comes through last night against Michigan State, Hunter Dickinson, 28 points, 12 rebounds,
00:10really nice game for them.
00:12But you basically feel the same as you said earlier, Mike, that Kansas, really good team,
00:17but shouldn't be the number one team in the country.
00:19Yeah, I think they're going to have a great year and probably win a terrific Big 12, and
00:25it could even make the Final Four, but those last two games are such a hurdle.
00:29And we see the same type of teams in just about every year, the ones that have those
00:35guys.
00:36And it's not necessarily the ones that have the best NBA prospects, but you have to have
00:40them.
00:41And the reason is simple.
00:43Guys like Bill Self are tremendous coaches, and they basically shut out the world and
00:47break down every single set you run and every single inbounds play and all the rest of it.
00:53And eventually it's going to come down to a pro making a play that can't be taken away.
00:58And last night, I mean, would have been an example of that if Cooper Fly could have made
01:00a couple of plays, that would have shown you the kind of play I'm talking about.
01:05He unfortunately failed, unfortunately, from Duke's perspective, failed in that circumstance.
01:11But usually someone like that is going to come through on that stage.
01:16And I don't know that Kansas has that player.
01:20Let's take a look at the Wooden Award odds.
01:22And Mike, I guess we'll end with this.
01:23Can a player on Creighton be declared the best player in the country at the end of the
01:28season?
01:29He may very well be, but you know, competing against North Carolina and Kansas and schools
01:34like that, you don't normally get this kind of cred.
01:38You don't, but they play in one of the best leagues in the country.
01:41It's produced multiple national champions in the last decade.
01:45And we saw, hey, we saw in 2020, the majority of selectors picked a Dayton player.
01:53So it certainly can happen at Creighton if it can happen at Dayton.
01:56And who knew that I would rhyme this morning with you, Chris.
