00:10Yeah, we've been doing pretty good here at WrestleTalk with a rabid beaver.
00:14I hope everybody out there is doing wonderful as well.
00:16We are excited because we got to visit and see NWA JCP firsthand for ourselves.
00:22And I took a little video of it.
00:24We put some videos up on Facebook under the reels.
00:27We're working on Tick-Tock, getting the Tick-Tock reels out there.
00:29And get everything going for you guys.
00:31But we want to let you know we had a fun time at NWA JCP.
00:35And what a crowd.
00:36They had a great crowd.
00:38Great show.
00:39Great entertainment.
00:40Great everything.
00:42What do you think was your favorite match of the night?
00:45Hmm.
00:45Gustavo and Angsten.
00:47Gustavo and Angsten.
00:48So it was a four on four tag team match.
00:51Gustavo, Angsten, Toby Farley and Andy Optimore in one corner.
00:56The Dreamweaver and The Pain were in another corner with the Heat Seekers.
01:01And how did that turn out for you there, Spock Bunny?
01:05I just like watching them because they're so funny.
01:08They are. They're so good together.
01:10They are. Their movements are very fluid and they all just work very well together.
01:16They do. They do a great job working together overall.
01:19And they have great chemistry inside there.
01:22Gustavo and Angsten, especially great chemistry inside the ring.
01:26Now, Andy Optimore and Toby Farley just squashed a beef
01:30that was taking place for a little bit over a year.
01:32And it was really interesting to see them work as a tag team
01:35and work together and be able to be the tag team and work together like it.
01:40Now, if you don't know, I'm looking directly across the evil spot.
01:42But he is in the studio today. She's across from me.
01:44So if you catch me going back and forth, that's what's going on.
01:48So she's something to see.
01:49Let me tell you that old pretty lady.
01:53But it definitely was something to see them be able to work together
01:56and put them put themselves all out on the line.
01:59I think I had two really good matches in my mind.
02:03I really think one of them should have went over a little bit
02:06further in the car than the other one.
02:07The first was Joe Briggs and Johnny Pope.
02:09The the pop that came off of that match.
02:13Yeah, really set the tone for the entire show.
02:18And it was the loudest pop of the night until the very end,
02:21the last match of the show.
02:22So in in my mind, I think they set it up the way that they needed to.
02:26But I would have put him right after Tyler Shoup had his victory.
02:30So I'm going to say that Tyler Shoup got a victory over Drew Hood.
02:33But I mean, congratulations.
02:34I'm not going to say exactly what happened, but let's just say
02:37that Shoup, Shoup-a-dooped all over.
02:40He trained harder.
02:41He trained harder, baby.
02:43That's right. He sure did.
02:45He had a lot of fun.
02:47But I would have switched those two matches.
02:49I would let Shoup go first, get that out of the way.
02:52And then I would have put on top the Joe Briggs match and Johnny Pope.
02:56I think that we really just played itself out, played itself
02:59good into the way that it was running for.
03:01However, I have to say, you know, the opening match of now
03:06Jamal, Jamal, Jamal, Jamal, the creator himself, McKinney,
03:12was a really decent match to the opening match.
03:14They did a great job opening it up, getting it going.
03:17Jamal needs to be a little bit farther on the card,
03:18especially with the gimmick that they're giving him
03:20in the way that they're running him through.
03:22That's my personal opinion.
03:23Jamal, Jamal, I'm sorry if I'm messing up your name.
03:25I apologize, my friend.
03:27But I think you deserve to to move on up in the card.
03:30And you do a lot for NWA.
03:31You do a lot for JCP.
03:33Well not only that, but he was going through the crowds
03:35and keeping them active and everything.
03:38And he just did a great job just keeping the energy alive.
03:41Absolutely. He did, Spock Bunny.
03:42He did a wonderful job of making sure that he knew where all the tables were.
03:48Everybody knew where the tables were, knew how to get merchandise,
03:51knew where the concessions were, wanted to talk to hype up the crowd,
03:54wanted to be there.
03:56And he was running cameras to run cameras and doing video footage
04:00and just just doing everything for them.
04:02I mean, did an excellent job for him trying to make it go out there and be great.
04:07They also had Danny Deals was out there.
04:10He's running the tables, but he was also running commentary.
04:12And he was running commentary with the man that has evaded us
04:16three freaking times at every NWA event that we go to.
04:21And I'm going to catch you one day.
04:22I'm going to catch you, Kyle Davis.
04:23I'm going to put you on the spot about it.
04:25We're going to talk about this one day, Kyle.
04:28So, but Kyle Davis was there.
04:31Just run.
04:34Kyle Davis was there and he was having a blast.
04:36He opened up the actual JCP event, showed everybody where they were going,
04:40what they were supposed to do, and then he ran it just like the big events.
04:43Hey, put me on cue.
04:44Let me know where we're starting. Let's go.
04:46And then he opened up the match, opened up the promos for each team,
04:50did the coin toss for both of them, team JCP and team SSC.
04:54And then we got to see the advantage and how everything went through.
04:58And, you know, it was just a wonderful time at the JCP event.
05:01We just had a lot of fun.
05:03I can't say more than that.
05:04I mean, everybody, everybody was there.
05:07Princessa was there.
05:08She did a great job in her match.
05:10They ended up turning her match into a three way match.
05:13And I was not expecting that.
05:16Oh, a notorious storm came in.
05:18He said, Tyler Shoup is the hottest thing in Tennessee independence right now.
05:21I could not agree more with you, Notorious Storm,
05:24about Tyler Shoup being the hottest thing there is.
05:27The the kid is wildfire.
05:29He's money. Anywhere he goes, he's he's making a draw.
05:32And it's because he's taking the time to be with the fans out at the tables,
05:36taking the time to be with the fans before and after the show,
05:40sell his merchandise at intermission, get out there and talk to him.
05:43He's a people person.
05:44He's just really a people person. And he's very kind.
05:47We got to speak to him.
05:48I'm trying to get him on the show. I've reached out to him.
05:50He told me at the show that he would come contact me
05:53and we would be in contact for September.
05:55So I'm hoping to get him on the show in September sometime.
05:58And that way we're able to talk with him and get things going.
06:00But I know he'll come on. I know he will.
06:02We see him every way that we follow him.
06:03We buy his merchandise.
06:05We followed him from pro wrestling.
06:07I feel like we're his stalkers.
06:08Yeah, I kind of do in a way. And it's really sad.
06:11I don't want to be a shoop stalker, but I mean, he's everywhere that we go.
06:16And we're not even trying to follow him sometimes.
06:18And he just ends up magically being on the card.
06:21And so it's like he's stalking us or we're stalking him.
06:24But something's happening.
06:26So but but yeah, Choup had an awesome match, man.
06:30He had a great match with Drew Hood.
06:32He and I love Drew Hood.
06:34I love the atmosphere that Drew Hood brings.
06:36I like when he's a bad guy.
06:38I love when he's a good guy, especially in certain certain places that he goes.
06:41But man, he had a hell of a match, if I can say so myself, with Drew Hood.
06:46And it ended in kind of a curious situation there.
06:50But Tyler Choup ended up on top.
06:51Let's just say it like that.
06:53And we do have a supposed new champion.
06:56Let's just keep that there for NWA JCP.
06:58Not going to give it away, but we're just going to say that you all figure it out.
07:03Air quotes. Air quotes, that's right.
07:06But the entire show was set up proper.
07:11Thrively came out, ran his mouth a little bit, but he squashed Johnny
07:14Polk there in the end.
07:16Johnny Polk earned that title match by beating Joe Briggs in order to get up there.
07:20And then he squashed him.
07:21I mean, it was just
07:22wasn't even set up to be nice.
07:25What's up, girls?
07:26My little babies are coming in here.
07:27That's why she's looking over and I'm looking over.
07:29My little baby girls are coming in here, our little puppies.
07:32But, you know, they they did that really right.
07:36I don't I think really took his belt off
07:39after he beat the crap out of him.
07:41The first it was after the power bomb.
07:42It was right after the power bomb. He did it.
07:44But he beat the crap out of him first before he even took the belt off.
07:48And then it was maybe two or three minutes.
07:51Max and dribbling squashed him.
07:53And then that was it.
07:54We saw a thrill ride.
07:55We saw a good thrill ride.
07:58Several of them.
08:01Notorious Storm said that Tyler Sheeps also killing it on social media.
08:04Absolutely, he is.
08:05And that's where really where his fan base is coming from.
08:08It's because he's marketing himself.
08:09He's marketing himself.
08:10He's marketing the brands that he's working for.
08:12SPCW, NWA, NWA, JCP, Ohio Valley.
08:16I've seen him do some stuff for Ohio Valley, you know, so he's really
08:19marketing himself good.
08:20And then he did some security work for AEW a couple of weeks ago,
08:25which nobody really saw that.
08:27But it was it was the Carter and Sheep security detail that he was on.
08:31So Colby Carter and Tyler Sheep were putting themselves out there,
08:35putting their name out there.
08:36And that's really good.
08:37He's moving himself up, trying to be able to become who he's supposed to be.
08:41And that's how it's supposed to be in this business is if you can market yourself,
08:44if you can market the fans, if you're a people person, whether you're a heel
08:48or whether you're good and you can market yourself out there,
08:51people will come to your table.
08:53Even if even if it's just for them to tell you, quote unquote, fuck off.
08:56You know, they're going to come to your table.
08:58You know, that's what's going to happen.
09:00So, you know, you have to you have to look at it from both sides.
09:04There is I think that once, you know, Matt Cardona did a little promo
09:08the other day where he was sitting down and he was talking about being at the table.
09:11If you're a heel, you're supposed to be the best heel you can be.
09:13And, you know, there's a lot of old school thoughts and mentality
09:16saying that you're not even supposed to be at the tables.
09:18You're not supposed to do anything.
09:18Well, I disagree with that.
09:19And I actually agree with Matt Cardona.
09:21And I met Matt Cardona several times.
09:23I've met him several times in Knoxville.
09:25We got to speak to him again.
09:27We were just trying to get his booking dates for GCW
09:29and where he was going to be and try to put him out there.
09:31And he just told me flat to my face.
09:33He said, listen, you got fucking paying customers behind you.
09:35He said it just like that.
09:36You got fucking paying customers behind you.
09:38If you'll move to the side, I'll talk to you when I when they're done paying.
09:41And he made me wait for about 10 people to buy his merchandise.
09:44And then he said, all right, what do you want?
09:46And I said, I just want to know where your booking dates are.
09:49You know, I just want to know where you're going to be at,
09:50what you're going to be doing and all that.
09:52And he told me he gave me his booking dates.
09:54We got to write them down, got to record it.
09:56And then we put it out on our next radio show.
09:59But sometimes you have to be that way.
10:01If you're a heel, you got to be the best hill you can be.
10:03And it's not that he was being rude.
10:05It's just that he knows where his butter is bred.
10:07And if he if he took the time out for me to talk to me first
10:11and I wasn't buying anything from him, then it was going to cause disrespect
10:15amongst the crowd.
10:16So he had to put me in my place as a podcaster, as a radio host
10:21to wait on him for his customers to be done.
10:23And he knew what he was doing.
10:24And he did it from both sides.
10:25Well, we saw Matt Cardona.
10:26You know, we saw him at two different shows.
10:28He's done a great job.
10:29Both shows that we've seen him at.
10:31He was the GM for the big NWA show that was in Nashville.
10:34He was the interim GM.
10:35Let's say it like that.
10:36He's not the full time GM, interim GM for that night for Billy Corgan.
10:40And I also saw him at another show in Knoxville about seven months before that.
10:44And he was at the table and he signed some stuff for us.
10:47And he just done a great job all the way around.
10:50I can't I can't say it enough.
10:51And when he was talking about people being heels, you know, I agree
10:54with his point of view on that.
10:56If you're he'll be the best seal that you can be, but go out to the tables
10:58because that's where your butter spread.
10:59You know, that's where that's where you put butter on your bread,
11:02making it go through.
11:03And he's absolutely right on that is, you know, you don't have to sign everything
11:06and you don't have to be personable with everybody.
11:08You can still be the heel at the table, but you want them to know
11:11that you're out there for them.
11:13And that's that's the ability that you can do.
11:15I really respect a lot print a lot princess for that, because
11:19that's the three events that I've seen her at the Knoxville event
11:22and both JCP events that we've been to.
11:24She's had a table.
11:25And when she was done with all her wrestling stuff,
11:29she remained there the entirety of the show at her tables
11:32for everybody to come out and sign for her.
11:34So, you know, Tiffany Davis, I'm giving you a shout out here
11:37because I watch WrestleTalk with the Rabbit Beaver watches who's at the tables
11:41and who's not and who's out there making memories and who's out there signing
11:45and who's out there selling merchandise.
11:47And La Presenza, you did a great job at Coalfield.
11:50You did a great job at the Troubadour.
11:53You did a great job, you know, in Knoxville and in Nashville.
11:56You've done a great job all over selling that merchandise.
11:59And we know that you're you're the top heel in the business, baby.
12:02And one day you're going to have the berk.
12:04You just keep on running with it.
12:05You're going to get that berk one day, baby.
12:07And we're going to we're going to follow you all the way to it.
12:09Keep dancing.
12:10Just keep dancing. Just keep dancing.
12:13But moving on. I mean, right after the Thribley came out.
12:16You know, he had that little squash match that he did with Johnny Pope.
12:19You know, we got to see them take a short little intermission
12:22for a few minutes and they came back to some good wrestling.
12:25And they did the like you said, your four on four match is what took place.
12:29And then they did the finale, the grand finale for the night, which was SSC.
12:34That's right.
12:34The Coalfield Twisted Steel team versus the NWA JCP team.
12:39Five on five in a war games match.
12:42Every five minutes, a new competitor is going to enter.
12:45Start with the original two five minutes and you have an advantage on each team.
12:49First five minute bells off.
12:50One team gets a competitor in, so it makes it uneven for the person that's inside.
12:54Next five minutes until all ten competitors are inside the ring.
12:58And it was a showdown.
13:00That's right. We got to see the SSC, which was Twisted Steel themselves.
13:04The Zack and Dylan, they tag team with Zenith.
13:08And then they had, you know, the old spank come in there
13:12and have their back as well.
13:13And they did an awesome job, guys.
13:15And then you got to see TVA on the other side for Team JCP,
13:19which is the big L, Lance Getemeyer and Devin Dixon
13:24is his tag team partner there.
13:26And they went with Joe Kazama himself.
13:28That's right.
13:29He was trying to take it back like it was 1985, guys.
13:32He was out there just balling and having a good time.
13:35And then the Kazamas, the country gentlemen themselves were there.
13:38Casey and AJ Kazama.
13:40And if you didn't catch it, we had beef on social media.
13:42And I told them that they were going to lose to Twisted Steel more than once.
13:47And we got in some heated words over that.
13:50I'm just here to rub it in a little bit.
13:51You little wine bags.
13:53Yes, he's rubbing it in my face, too, because I was cheering for you.
13:57And you lost.
13:59And now I have to hear it.
14:01I've been rubbing it in all week, too.
14:04So but, you know, that little trick you pulled in Nashville,
14:07it turned around on you in war games because somebody gave up.
14:11I'm not going to mention any names other than that.
14:13Their name starts with a K and a C and their last name has a C in it.
14:17But somebody gave up.
14:18Let's just say it like that.
14:20And they cried all the way home.
14:23Wham, wham, wham. All the way home.
14:28Next time, Trinada.
14:32And you even tried to cheat.
14:34That's the funny thing is you got old silverback Zach there
14:38and you locked him to the cage with some handcuffs
14:41and he had a hard time getting out of them, did they not?
14:44He did. They tried everything to get out of it.
14:47Everything they tried to use in the walk was there
14:50and he was doing his best Jim Cornette impersonation dressed to a T-baby
14:55carrying that racket around with him.
14:58And they tried to use his racket to get out of those things, beat it.
15:00They tried to get a saw to saw through it and get out of it.
15:03They couldn't.
15:03They tried to pull in on the cage to break it, to get out.
15:06They couldn't do it.
15:07He was not getting out of that.
15:09He wasn't. He was definitely not happy, but he finally did.
15:13We just in time for him to enter the ring as the last competitor for SSC.
15:18And let me tell you, he well, one of the last competitors
15:21because the spank was the last competitor.
15:22So let me correct myself.
15:23Second to last competitor that was out there for the SSC.
15:27And once he got in, man, he made it known that he was not happy
15:31about being chained to that thing.
15:33And even Mr.
15:34Joe Kazana joined in. Oh, yes, he did.
15:36Joe Kazana got in the ring and he got some hits taken, too.
15:39He was he was taking him and spank was going at it.
15:43He was taking some bumps.
15:44Let's just say it like that.
15:46And it was well worth it.
15:47Well, worth the price of admission to go to Coalfield.
15:49Would we do it again? Swap money?
15:51Yes, most definitely.
15:52And we already talked about the crowd earlier, but it cannot be stated
15:57how good that crowd was, how big that crowd was,
16:01how many kids were in that crowd. So many children.
16:04So I counted six hundred and thirty four heads,
16:08and that's not including all the children.
16:10That was adults.
16:11Six hundred and thirty four people is what I counted in that building.
16:14So there was probably a thousand people total if you're counting
16:17all the kids that are coming through with them.
16:19So, you know, they had a huge, huge number there
16:24to support them and come on out and be there.
16:26And it was beautifully set up.
16:28They did it kind of like our screen is right now.
16:30You got one one ring with Chris Air as one ring where the old lady spot
16:34bunny is and one ring with myself is.
16:36And they had it set up beautifully like that.
16:39And on the outskirts, like on the left hand side, my right hand side,
16:42your screen out there, they had the the gorilla curtain set up
16:47and they also had their inflatable set up out there to do their music videos
16:51and tell who they were.
16:52And they positioned it in such a way where everybody could see it.
16:54And all they needed was the one even in the light.
16:58All the lights were on.
16:59So, you know, it was just it was just very well put together.
17:04All the way around. Very professional.
17:06And I've got to say something else, too, is I am very impressed
17:10with the amount of hands that came through and helped Mr.
17:13Danny Jones. Danny Jones knows exactly what I'm talking about.
17:16We're setting up that cage around the ring.
17:20All of security came out and help.
17:22All of the JPWA kids came out and help all of the people from,
17:27I think it was IPWA, the other wrestling academy were there.
17:30They were out there helping.
17:32They all help up, set up that ring.
17:34They all helped up to help set up the cages for the war games.
17:38And it may have taken them a little bit of time,
17:40but they all worked together hand in hand.
17:43They didn't get frustrated. They didn't let it go.
17:46I yelled once during that because they weren't.
17:48The crowd was not letting the people with the cages through.
17:52So I yelled, make a hole, you know, like military voice.
17:56Everybody looked at him.
17:59Everybody stopped and looked, but they made a hole.
18:01Did they not? They did.
18:02And they kept that hole there until they were able to get the cages back up.
18:06And I think that that that shows the camaraderie
18:10that they had for this event, what was going on in that event.
18:13And the concession stand, the concession people, all the money
18:15that went to concessions was going to help the SSC themselves
18:20and also the Coalfield High School to get new uniforms
18:23and to help all their students with lunches and aid and everything.
18:27So everybody who bought concessions at the show, thank you guys so much.
18:31Without you, it was not possible for them to do that.
18:34I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart,
18:35because that's a big, big thing, especially here in Tennessee.
18:39There's a lot of underprivileged kids, a lot of underprivileged adults
18:43that are still working on getting their education.
18:45That money is going towards helping them get their education in that area
18:48and also helping towards new clothing, new things for them.
18:52Come here, girl.
18:53So it's helping directly for that.
18:55How you doing, baby? Yes. Hey, little ho bags.
18:58So these are my little puppy ho bags down here.
19:01There's two of them.
19:04But but yeah, so, you know, thank you guys so much for everything
19:08that you all did helping out in that and all the ticket sales that went through.
19:12I didn't see exactly how many tickets were sold.
19:15But like I said, I counted over 600 adults there.
19:18Six hundred thirty four adults there.
19:20I know they sold quite a bit online, but they were still selling the paper.
19:24I had the door at the door.
19:26They were selling them like wildfire, too.
19:29I know that they ran out one at one point in time
19:31because they had to go and get more tickets from the back.
19:33Well, when we were there and we just got there
19:36and they were already running through the tickets.
19:38Yeah, they sold. We were on their third roll.
19:41So we were their third roll.
19:42And we were just minutes after the door opened getting in.
19:45So, I mean, really, like we didn't stand in line
19:49maybe five minutes to get through the door as soon as they opened the doors.
19:52And we were their third roll of tickets.
19:55So they did a great job selling tickets.
19:57They did a great job promoting that event.
20:00They did a great job online.
20:01And the big companies, the home company, the NWA, did a great job
20:04putting it online for people to see in their territories.
20:08And that's what the territory events are all about, is making sure
20:11that you get ticket sales and making sure that you have people there
20:14that can hold their end of the bargain.
20:15Now, I will say this.
20:17I'm a little upset that Jax Dane didn't make an appearance
20:22to challenge Thrillbilly.
20:24I wanted to see Thrillbilly and Jax Dane go at it.
20:27And I know I'm going to get that match one day.
20:29But the question is, when?
20:31So next time, maybe next time, hopefully next time.
20:34But that's my only griping complaint NWA JCP for everything that you all did.
20:40The lighting was great.
20:42The event was great.
20:43The seating was great.
20:45It got a little hot.
20:46It was air conditioned, but it got a little hot
20:48because we had a lot of people in there, but it was still air conditioned.
20:51That's a big plus for you guys.
20:53You did a wonderful job there making sure that you had all your wrestlers
20:57taking care of and all the fans taking care of in a great building.
21:00And you sold out the building.
21:02That's that's another thing is it was a sellout right there in Coalfield.
21:07So congratulations to you guys.
21:09And hopefully this will keep up.
21:11KFW is going to be hosting in October, October the 4th or the 11th,
21:16the 4th, October 4th is when they're going to be hosting for their event.
21:20And it's going to be at the Sevierville Civic Center.
21:21That's going to be down there.
21:22I hoped God that you all sell it out to Tommy.
21:25I know, Tommy, you're watching.
21:26Tommy, I'm going to tell you, man, you've got a long road to Hobo
21:29with Tom Latimer coming in and you got, you know, the Impaler,
21:33the little lady from the wasteland coming in.
21:35Max, the Impaler is coming in for you.
21:37Also, you've got none other than Jay Lethal is going to be coming in for you.
21:43So I hope to God you sell out that place at the Civic Center.
21:46And I hope that we're going to be a part of that
21:48on the 4th when it takes place as well.
