00:10An interfaith council has hit out at a group filmed promoting free Bible courses

00:16next to a surau in Melaka, saying such actions were very wrong.

00:20The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism

00:27said religious groups should be ethical when it comes to propagating one's faith.

00:33Its president, Tan Ho Chiau, told FMT that offering free Bible courses in front of a surau

00:39is a serious breach of ethics.

00:42The 16-second video, currently making its rounds on social media,

00:46shows a small group of people sitting or standing near a book trolley

00:51with a sign saying,

00:52free Bible courses next to the surau.

00:56Tan expressed concern that the individuals involved could be from some deviant group

01:01and sought the help of the Christian community to identify them.

01:05I don't think it's from any church because no church, as far as we know, will do such things.

01:13Tan said that such incidents should not reoccur

01:16and encouraged the surau committee to lodge a police report

01:20and to chase them away if the group comes around again.
