00:00An UMNO Supreme Council member has urged the party to protest the Home Ministry's decision

00:07to lift the ban on a comic book by former DAP member Hugh Kuan Yew.

00:12Puat Zarkashi claimed that the public was disappointed by this decision,

00:16adding that Pujo Jaya should find a way to ensure the ban remained in place.

00:20In a Facebook post, Puat said it is compulsory for UMNO to object to lifting the ban on the

00:25comic book Belt and Road Initiative for Win-Winism, claiming that it had put the

00:29late Communist Party of Malaya leader Chin Peng on a pedestal.

00:34He said lifting the ban could subtly spread communism,

00:37which poses a threat to the country's stability.

00:40It was reported yesterday that the Home Ministry had lifted the ban in post on Hugh's comic book.

00:45According to a federal government gazette dated August 12,

00:48the revocation was signed by Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail on August 6.

00:53The comic was initially banned by the Home Ministry in October 2019,

00:57citing concerns that its content promotes communism and socialism.
