00:10The Boys Season 4 comes to a shocking and suspenseful end, as its main story picks up

00:15significantly in the final episodes, though I will admit, I'm disappointed by how the

00:20series handles Soldier Boy.

00:22Jensen Ackers' Soldier Boy makes his debut in The Boys Season 3, and the soup leaves

00:27a lasting impression.

00:28Ackers gives a standout performance, and it's one that makes viewers want more of his character,

00:34despite his defeat at the ending of The Boys Season 3.

00:37I think many of us expected Soldier Boy to show up again in Season 4.

00:41The Boys Season 3's revelation that Soldier Boy is still alive and merely back in cryosleep,

00:47thanks to Grace Molloy, certainly makes it seem like the character's story isn't over.

00:52And The Boys Season 4 does return to Soldier Boy as promised, but it's not in the way many

00:57hoped for and expected.

00:58I can't believe how poorly the fourth outing utilises Soldier Boy's character, but I'm

01:03hopeful the series will make up for this during The Boys Season 5.

01:08Soldier Boy plays a huge role in The Boys Season 3, and he's become a fan-favourite

01:12character thanks to Ackers' performance.

01:15He's also Homelander's father, and it's clear the younger soup has serious issues surrounding

01:19their lack of a relationship.

01:21Given how crucial Soldier Boy is to Homelander's story, I'm surprised he doesn't play a bigger

01:26part in Season 4.

01:28Soldier Boy doesn't make an appearance until The Boys Season 4's ending.

01:32In fact, he's not even in the actual final.

01:35The episode saves him for its post-credits scene.

01:38When Soldier Boy does show up, he's still unconscious in his cryosleep chamber, and

01:42he doesn't get any lines before the scene fades to black.

01:45The Boys Season 4's post-credits tease sees Homelander learning that his father is still

01:50alive.

01:51It's an emotional moment for the Boys villain, but it doesn't really add to Soldier Boy's

01:55story.

01:56That's a shame, as he's one of the show's most interesting characters.

02:00It would have been nice if The Boys gave him more to do in its latest outing.

02:04Fortunately, it seems inevitable that he'll get a bigger role in Season 5.

02:09The Boys Season 3 shows Soldier Boy one last time after his fight with Homelander and The

02:14Boys, and this tease makes it seem like he'll be back relatively soon.

02:18Season 3's final shows Grace Morelight putting Soldier Boy back into cryosleep during its

02:23closing montage.

02:25It's an exciting tease for fans of the character, and I expected the series to do more with

02:30it.

02:31Instead, The Boys Season 4 totally wastes its hint that Soldier Boy will be back.

02:35It could just as easily have revealed the truth during Season 4's post-credits scene,

02:40which only reiterates Season 3's tease.

02:43With Soldier Boy barely appearing in The Boys Season 4, he gets more screen time during

02:47his Gen-V cameo.

02:49He absolutely needs to play a larger part in the final season.

02:52The Boys Season 5 will likely see a full-blown war between those who support Homelander and

02:58everyone else.

02:59With Homelander mobilizing subs in the final, things are poised to get very messy, and he

03:04may offer Soldier Boy a chance to get in on the action, though it's hard to say how Acker's

03:09character would respond to such a suggestion from the son he looks down on.

03:13Whatever Soldier Boy winds up doing in The Boys Season 5, it's crucial that the series

03:18prominently features him and any other fan-favorite subs during its last outing.

03:22There's no better way to pay homage to The Boys' legacy.

03:26And if Jared Padalecki winds up joining the show's cast, an exciting supernatural reunion

03:31could take place in The Boys Season 5.
