00:08I hope you are fine.

00:09In the penultimate episode of The Boys Season 4, the titular team hits their lowest point

00:14yet.

00:15It seems impossible considering where they have been before.

00:18But it's not just Yugi, Annie, Butcher, M.M, Kimiko, and Frenchie who are on the brink.

00:23The entirety of the Seven and Watts corporate structure is in disarray, leaving everyone

00:28in a precarious position heading into the season final.

00:31Homelander has been in crisis all season, but it seemed to be working out for him for

00:36the most part.

00:37He brought Sister Sage on board, the world's smartest person, and they crafted a plan for

00:42world domination.

00:43The psycho soup couldn't help but give in to his worst impulses, though, and he's now

00:47pushed Sage aside in favor of Firecracker and her obsession with pleasing him.

00:52Instead of strategic smarts, it looks like Homelander may execute his grand plan through

00:57brute force rather than cunning strategy.

00:59While this seems almost certain to work out for him, Homelander's powers make him the

01:04mightiest soup.

01:05After all, he lacks the brains that are a vital part of his operation with Sage.

01:10In a confrontation between the three subs, Sage reveals that she knew A-Train was the

01:14leak all along and that his distribution of information was intentional.

01:18To what end remains unclear.

01:21Homelander is surrounded by a bunch of yes-men, which doesn't bode well for his takeover plan.

01:25In a sense, Homelander's right back where he started at the beginning of Season 4.

01:30Only this time he's angrier than ever.

01:33This is kind of the boy's thing.

01:35Homelander goes on some journey throughout the season before ending its career and more

01:39powerful than ever before.

01:40This time, though, it worked.

01:42The takeover plot heightens the stakes of Homelander's actions, but most of all, Anthony

01:47Starr continues to deliver a stunning performance, somehow avoiding the trappings of the script

01:52to exude something even more terrifying.

01:55It's a promising sign heading into the final, with nothing to hold him back.

01:59And with the Season 5 being the boy's last, it feels like anything could happen for the

02:03first time in a long time.

02:05In its fourth season, the boys has shown some signs of fear and tear.

02:09Its social commentary has grown stale no matter how prescient it seems to be, and the scenes

02:14meant to shock and awe have either not topped what's come before or have been surprisingly

02:19tone-deaf.

02:20Yugi's sexual torture being the worst of it.

02:22Episode 7 doesn't fix all of these mistakes, but it sets up a final that could change everything.

02:28The gloves are off and Homelander has sent the Deep and Black Noir to attack Butcher

02:32and Annie.

02:33A-Train has been exposed as the leak.

02:35Sister Sage has been fired.

02:37Annie has been kidnapped and is seemingly a part of whatever the plan is for 6th January.

02:42In a season that has felt motionless at times, the boys finally feels like it has some life

02:47in it again.
