00:00In the summertime, there is no better place to be than the Island of Sodor.
00:10The engines are happy to show holidaymakers the wonderful sights to be seen.
00:18But this year, there was a problem.
00:21Thomas and Emily were in the foundry for repairs.
00:25I need to find a way to carry more passengers, grumbled the Fat Controller.
00:30We have more holidaymakers and fewer engines, said Emily.
00:34A double-decker problem, added Thomas.
00:37Double-decker problem, hmm.
00:41This gave the Fat Controller an idea.
00:44He drove straight to Bulgy's Field.
00:48Bulgy is a double-decker bus.
00:56He was turned into a henhouse after he caused a silly accident.
01:03Good news, Bulgy. I'm putting you back on the road.
01:08Thank you, sir. I'll be the best bus ever.
01:11Bulgy never liked being a henhouse anyway.
01:14The next day, he went to the foundry.
01:19Bulgy, exclaimed Thomas, what are you doing here?
01:24I'm being repaired. I'm going back on the road.
01:29I think you'll be helping the new farmer, said Emily.
01:32He needs to deliver his vegetables around the island.
01:35Vegetables, hmm. I'm going to carry passengers.
01:42Soon, Bulgy was refitted inside and out.
01:45He looked smart and shiny. Even James was impressed.
01:50Hmm.
01:53When Bulgy returned to his field, the hens thought the old house looked splendid.
01:59We'll start in the morning, said his driver. You'll stay here tonight.
02:04Bulgy was soon fast asleep, but the hens missed their old home.
02:10One by one, they crept aboard.
02:18And went to sleep in the luggage racks.
02:21Bulgy knew nothing.
02:24The next morning, he picked up lots of passengers.
02:27All aboard, he tooted and set off for the station.
02:32He was driving so smoothly that the hens didn't wake up.
02:48All was well, until Bulgy turned a corner.
02:53Trevor, the traction engine, was pulling a hay cart.
02:58Get out of my way!
03:01He overtook Trevor.
03:04Bulgy swerved. The hens woke up.
03:07The passengers panicked, and Bulgy's driver lost control.
03:13The hens were frightened. They flapped, they squawked.
03:17Stop, cried Bulgy's passengers. We want to get off!
03:23The passengers were covered in feathers and broken eggs.
03:28They were very cross.
03:31This bus is full of hens, they complained. We shall tell the Fat Controller.
03:36It's not my fault, sulked Bulgy.
03:43The Fat Controller sent Bulgy to be cleaned.
03:48Silly hens, silly passengers. You can have them both.
03:54The farmer still needs help with his vegetables, said Emily.
03:59A vegetable bus? That's not such a bad idea.
04:03And we're back carrying passengers, smiled Thomas.
04:07Bulgy is happy now. He has new green paintwork and a smart serving hatch.
04:13The Fat Controller agreed he could become the island's only vegetable stand on wheels.
04:23Bulgy likes carrying vegetables. They don't lay eggs, and they never complain.
