00:00Hello, and welcome to Nerdy Gaming with Rabid Beaver.
00:05I'm your host, the elusive Rabid Beaver.
00:07Hope you guys are going to be in for the ride.
00:09We're going to be talking about something near and dear to my heart today in none other
00:14than the Xbox 360, so come along and let's have some fun.
00:21All right, guys.
00:22Hi.
00:23How are y'all doing?
00:24I'm the elusive Rabid Beaver.
00:25I'm your host here at Nerdy Gaming with Rabid Beaver.
00:26Now, we haven't done any gaming stuff in a couple weeks, and I just kind of wanted to
00:31go back and relive some nostalgia with you guys as stuff has happened, different things
00:35are going down.
00:36The Xbox 360 store is coming to a complete close today, and let's talk about the memories
00:42that we had.
00:45I bought my first Xbox 360 when I was in the Army in 2008, and it's actually this console
00:51that I've got sitting right here beside me.
00:55This is my big bad boy right here.
00:58My big bad baby.
00:59I threw the intercooler on it.
01:01I've got a Nikon intercooler while I was on post there.
01:03I got mine at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in 2008, and it is the arcade edition, but
01:11it's not the silver face.
01:13It is a white face arcade edition.
01:16It came with the arcade games, which I still have.
01:19I didn't trade those in, guys.
01:21Let me find that for you real quick.
01:23It's right here in the midst of this huge pile of games that I'm holding here, so bear
01:28with me.
01:29Just give me a second to remove the 30,000 games that I've got in front of me here to
01:35show you this one.
01:38This is the arcade game that came with it in the arcade edition.
01:44I'm telling you, man, just some great stuff.
01:46It had the original UNO with webcam at that point in time.
01:49That was before all the pervert alert happened.
01:53Everybody's showing their wiener on camera, but yeah, it had Pac-Man inside of it.
01:59It had Luxor inside of it.
02:02It had Boom Boom Rocket.
02:03If you don't know what Boom Boom Rocket is, that is the game, guys.
02:06That is so much fun, just a ton of fun on that.
02:09It did not have a manual whenever this first came out, so with the arcade game, it just
02:14came with the arcade game itself.
02:18Everything still works, everything still works properly with this, but the live functions
02:25apparently because they're not going to be live anymore, but that was the game whenever
02:30it first came out.
02:31You could invite your friends.
02:32You could have fun.
02:33Pac-Man was on it.
02:34I mean, just so much stuff was built into this when it first came out, and to be honest
02:38with you, I did not touch the arcade games that came on this for about seven years after
02:46I purchased it.
02:47It stayed on my shelf, and I did not touch not a one for seven years, so until 14, 15
02:54roughly was when I first started playing the arcade side of it and getting into that thing.
02:59My first game for this was NBA Live.
03:04I bought NBA Live right out of the box, dude, with it whenever I got it at Fort Jackson,
03:10and it did not come with this beautiful 60 gigabyte hard drive that I've got on top of
03:14it.
03:15I got it at a pawn shop here locally whenever they were like $100.
03:20I got it for 50 at a pawn shop then, and I bought it and put it on top.
03:25I slung it on top of this bad boy right here, but man, the memories that I had with this
03:31mostly come from Call of Duty.
03:35So Modern Warfare 3 was where about 90% of all my memories come from, and then there's
03:43other games that had like NBA 2K12.
03:47I bought the dual pack for 2K12 and to do the perfect game simulation on 2K12 for baseball,
03:54MLB 2K12 for baseball.
03:56My most memorable sports game though for this is Major League Baseball 2K8.
04:04They took a lot of the features that were in Madden at the time, the cards, the collections,
04:13the bobbleheads, stuff like that, and put it into a baseball game, and they actually
04:18made probably the best baseball game to date with Major League Baseball 2K8.
04:26Jose Reyes on the front, bringing back a lot of memories.
04:29The signature run style, the way that you could select your jerseys.
04:33Now, if you didn't have any of the unlockables and you couldn't purchase any of the unlockables
04:37from the live store at the time, they gave you different jerseys, different things, but
04:40you could unlock them as you got cards as well built on.
04:45Of course, 2K14 was a good game.
04:49How can you have without having basketball, NCAA College Basketball 09.
04:56Great sports games.
04:57These are the games that I played on the 360.
04:59These are the ones that take you down memory lane, and some of them I still play.
05:03You know what it is to say, I'm going to move that section out of the way.
05:06But Modern Warfare 2, that was the game that actually got me really hardcore and heavy
05:12into the Modern Warfare series for the 360, and I hate that they shut down the multiplayer
05:20online player if you didn't have an account.
05:22I wish they would have kept that up running for Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, but
05:26they didn't.
05:27They shut all that stuff down.
05:29Now, this is a game I've never opened, but I have played it on the Xbox One, but I got
05:33a copy of it for Christmas and I kept it sealed.
05:36It's a sealed copy of Titanfall, but for the Xbox One, this was the game, bro.
05:42This was an absolute, that's the very end of the run of the 362, very end of the run
05:47of it.
05:482K15, I played a lot of basketball as you guys are seeing.
05:51I actually played basketball through college, so I was playing all these games going in
05:56the Army, out of the Army, all that fun stuff going around.
06:00Now, this was the Million Dollar Challenge game, the Roy Holiday Edition right here.
06:05So these are what we played.
06:09These are what I played, man, all the time.
06:11The Jordan Edition, 2K11.
06:13Now, this case is rough.
06:14I've beaten, banged this thing up, and as you see, it has a $2 sticker on it because
06:19I got it at a yard sale for $2, bro, $2 for the Jordan Edition.
06:24Let's go figure that one out.
06:27The Arkham Origins Collection.
06:29Now, this bad boy is multi-disc on the inside with the manual.
06:37So I mean, this is just going down memory lane, you know, picking up stuff, buying stuff,
06:43and how can you have it without having All Pro Football 2K8?
06:48You know what I mean?
06:49The All Pro, the legends of football here.
06:52This is a complete collector's edition collected.
06:55So everything.
06:56Now, as you see, it had a $1.95 sticker sent on it where I bought it at McKay's a couple
07:03years ago, guys, and it still holds itself up very well.
07:08Great game.
07:09If you haven't ever played it, you definitely need to go through and play it.
07:12Of course, Black Ops, the game that changed 360 all together, changed the way that we
07:17game currently all together was Call of Duty Black Ops.
07:20This was the major one that changed multiplayer and online player gaming as we know it today.
07:27This is the one that went platinum.
07:29This is a platinum sell, Black Ops, and everybody's got it.
07:33Everybody's got a portion of this somewhere inside of them.
07:36But look, man, I mean, you can't beat this crap, guys, and I think I've got two games
07:41on the inside of this one as well.
07:43I think I've got the original Black Ops, and I got Black Ops 2 that I lost the case for
07:48somewhere along the way.
07:49But I've got both Black Ops games here, even got the instruction manual and the downloadable
07:57manual, all that good stuff inside of it.
08:00These are the games that we played that made a difference in our lives as we were going
08:04through.
08:05Now, Call of Duty Ghost, there's a lot we can say about this game.
08:10Was it a great Call of Duty game?
08:12No, but I think it was one of the best inventive games that they came out with.
08:16I think it had a lot of good features in it, but the multiplayer was broken in a lot
08:21of things.
08:22It became a sniper shooter's haven.
08:24If you're into sniping, this is your game.
08:26This is the one you want.
08:29But man, the funnest game inside of this game, this is a two-disc set as well.
08:34You had an install disc, and you actually had the actual disc for this game because
08:38it was so big at the time that you had to have it.
08:41But the game that actually this game has inside of it that everybody should play, everybody
08:49whatsoever is the aliens, dude.
08:51If you play, it's their version of zombies on the inside.
08:55If you don't play that, if you don't play Nightfall and all those, if you don't go through
09:00and do point of contact and all that crap on this, you are missing out.
09:05That's what this game was all about.
09:07And they actually should do a recall of this, especially the way that the game ended.
09:12If you played all the way through the story mode of Ghost, then you know that I know that
09:18you know about Rourke and what happened with Rourke.
09:21And they need to come out with a sequel for Ghost.
09:23That's my personal opinion.
09:24So Call of Duty Activision, Raven Games, Warhammer, all of it, Infinity Ward, if you guys are
09:31listening, come out with a second Call of Duty Ghost.
09:35We miss it.
09:36We want it to come back.
09:37I like the title.
09:38It was great.
09:41So Battlefield 3, the hardened edition, guys, the limited edition, hardened edition from
09:46Dice.
09:48That's a that's a pretty good game right there.
09:50And it's a two disker as well.
09:51So you have an install this one, this two story mode and regular mode.
09:57So as you see, I played a lot of sports games and a lot of shooter games, but it's because
10:01they were fun.
10:02And I think the best college football game that this is my personal opinion.
10:06It don't matter for anything for anybody else, but the best college football game that they
10:09came out with was NCAA 08.
10:13I think it was the game that actually changed the franchise all the way together, changed
10:18it, changed every aspect of the football game was NCAA 08.
10:23And it made college football fun again.
10:27So and 14 was the last edition that you got for the 360.
10:32You couldn't get it on the Xbox one.
10:33The entire Xbox one library was done.
10:36They finally came out for Series S and Series X with a brand new college football 25.
10:42But if we go back and we play, I have a bunch of them for regular Xbox as well over on my
10:46collection over here.
10:48But the one that really changed it and made the hit stick hittable made running different
10:56stiff arms, you know, all of it, you could do everything was 08.
11:00It was the game that started it all.
11:02It's the game that we brought back and we've had a lot of fun with throughout the years,
11:07you know.
11:08So NCAA 08 is a great now I had I have Madden downloaded to the hard drives up here.
11:16And I think Madden 12 is my favorite Madden that they came out with.
11:20So Madden 2012 was probably my favorite one that they have in that series.
11:26And then NFL 2K5.
11:29So I still play 2K5 for the original Xbox on my 360.
11:35And if it would go to my Xbox one, if they would update the titles and load it, I would
11:38do it on there too, because I think that 2K5 is the greatest NFL game that's ever been
11:43created to date.
11:46And that's saying a lot for me because they've added a lot of good features into Madden the
11:50last couple of years, but it's just not the same.
11:52Now the nostalgia that we get from the Xbox 360 when we look at it, you know, like I said,
11:57I've got an old fat white edition here from 2008 and it did have to get sent off to Microsoft
12:04for the red ring of death.
12:06I sent it off in 2014, 2013, 2013.
12:11I sent this thing off to get it fixed.
12:13It was gone eight weeks and came back to me and they fixed it.
12:17They fixed everything and it's been running solid ever since.
12:20Now it does have a little hiccup with it.
12:23That's just started.
12:24And that's when you hit the eject button.
12:26It doesn't want to open anymore because the ribbons and stuff have started to waste their
12:30way out of that.
12:32So the way that I've been getting around with it is the old slap method.
12:34I make sure nothing's inside of it and I'll slap the top of it and it'll pop right out
12:38for me.
12:39Then I try to lubricate what I can.
12:42If I can get some Vaseline or something in there to lubricate those, um, lubricate the
12:48ribbons that are on the inside of it, I do.
12:50And then it'll work for a little bit, work for about four or five months solid on me,
12:54but then it'll lock itself right back up.
12:57Now, do you remember what the 360 controller was?
13:02I think the 360 controller is the best controller ever designed and ever built in my personal
13:08opinion.
13:09The comfort, the playability, the way that the buttons are laid out, it's the way that
13:14it should be.
13:15And the Xbox one actually failed with this controller.
13:19They tried to redesign it, but the weight of this controller, everything was perfect
13:24for you holding the controller.
13:26So I've got a black one.
13:27I've got a white one somewhere, but I don't know if you can see it, but I've wore the
13:31knobs all the way down on mine from playing it using the stick so much.
13:38I've wore the controller buttons to the point to where they stick.
13:41The A button does not work on this controller anymore at all.
13:46And I've just got it as a keepsake, as a memory, because I remember when this thing was what
13:52it was supposed to be.
13:53And I think the best thing that they did with these removable battery packs.
13:57So if you don't know, you could put regular batteries inside of a casing that was similar
14:01to this.
14:02This held batteries on the top instead of being an actual battery, battery pack.
14:05Let me get it in front of you without dropping it.
14:09But they made it to where you could do that and keep your controller running for long
14:15periods of time.
14:16They made an extension cord that could plug in directly right here to this little gray
14:21section in the top, and it would charge your wireless controller so that you could play
14:27Xbox 360.
14:28But the problem is, after a certain amount of time with these rechargeable batteries
14:31like this, is they completely die.
14:33They completely go bad, and you can't charge them anymore.
14:37So you have to use your wire in order to turn the Xbox on and to get it to go, to get it
14:43to start.
14:44But man, the memories that I have of playing with this console, playing this console while
14:50using all this stuff just brings back stuff.
14:54Now I've got the original white one, but it's in a bin behind me over here somewhere.
14:58I'm just not digging through the bin to find it.
15:02So let's talk about the store, things that are going on with the Xbox in the store.
15:06So as we all know, they're closing the store out today.
15:09It's going to be the last day for the store, period.
15:12If you don't have any of the stuff that you're looking for, the Xbox store is going to be
15:16no longer.
15:17So they're going to be cutting off online functionality to most of the servers based
15:21on that as well.
15:23So I would encourage you, if you could buy anything or get anything, today is the cutoff,
15:27guys.
15:28I mean, you might as well get it.
15:29You might as well buy it.
15:30You might as well put it out there.
15:31You might as well do what you can for it just to keep it alive.
15:34One thing that I think that these companies are doing, Xbox, you know, Microsoft, Sony,
15:39all of them is they're cutting off their digital consoles and their sales.
15:44So these creators for the, it doesn't matter if they're selling on the Xbox store, Xbox
15:49360 store or not, you made a mistake by stop producing for the console itself.
15:54The console still works.
15:56There's people still playing it.
15:57There's people still using it.
15:59Not as many people as there was in 2008 because it was brand new or in 2014, right before
16:06you cut everything completely out for it and opened up the Xbox one, but there's people
16:11still playing this console and there's people that are still got their heart attached to
16:16this console and trying to make it work in 2024, you know, that speaks volumes for the
16:23console itself.
16:24I still play it from time to time in my NBA 2Ks.
16:28I'm still on a franchise in NBA 2K that I haven't finished yet.
16:32I've still got about another three years worth of franchise time left in my NBA 2K to finish
16:37it and I still play it.
16:39So, you know, that's something that I do as a dinosaur, as a dinosaur collector with my
16:44white, my white, my bird, as they say, you know, you get to see a lot of stuff that comes
16:50out and happens.
16:51And, you know, I was in the army, like I said, when I got this console, NBA live was still
16:57a thing at that point in time when I got this console and I bought it, I played it all the
17:02way through.
17:04I just was interested in Halo, trying to get involved in Halo whenever it first came out.
17:09It was Halo three was actually the big one for this console and reach and ODST.
17:15I got involved in all of that in this console.
17:17I got involved in some of the Gears of War, not all of them.
17:21I like Gears of War.
17:23OK, I really was involved in Call of Duty a lot.
17:27I still have those, as you've seen earlier, some of the games and stuff that I have just
17:31from that generation, just from moving that stuff, it was near and dear to my heart at
17:36that point in time and reliving that stuff, religion, that nostalgia and going back through
17:40and playing. Does the console still work?
17:42Absolutely. It still works.
17:45Like I said, the problem is, is the disc tray on this one is starting to fade out.
17:49So I'm going to have to replace.
17:50I'm going to have to open up and replace that disc tray.
17:52The good thing about these disc readers and stuff is on the early editions, they weren't
17:57married to the motherboard.
17:59So you could actually just replace the drive completely, buy a new drive and replace it
18:04completely. And it was cheaper than trying to re-solder and have somebody else go in and
18:11do the soldering to marry everything to the motherboard to keep it right, like with the
18:15Xbox One and One S.
18:17My One S, the disc drive is starting to go out.
18:19The automatic disc drive where you put it in, it sucks it in.
18:22It's starting to go out on it.
18:23And they quoted me $650 at one of the places just to take the old drive off, unsolder it,
18:32solder the new drive on and screw it in and lock it.
18:35$650, guys.
18:36So think about that for a second versus buying a $100 drive, opening up the console
18:42yourself, three screws, four screws, pulling it out and putting the new one in.
18:47And there you go.
18:48You've got a brand new drive.
18:50So that's what you got to think about, $100 versus $600 to do something like that.
18:55So they were thinking about money and not efficiency involved.
19:01And it's worked for them.
19:02I mean, you got a lot of people who are brand conscious.
19:05Now, I did some things like I told you with the intercooler, like I bought this external
19:09intercooler, if I can get it off, external intercooler, and it's dirty, guys.
19:13So please bear with me because I haven't blown it out.
19:15And God knows how long, about four months, five months.
19:18So it's dirty.
19:19But I bought it from Nyko.
19:21It's a Nyko EX intercooler.
19:24And I've had this thing, God, I got it a week after I got the console.
19:32So in 2008 is when I got the console.
19:35So I've had it since 2008 and it worked just fine.
19:38It works just fine.
19:39Just has little issues here and there, but it's got three extra fans in the back.
19:42So it gives you a total of four fans across for this.
19:46And it plugs directly in.
19:47I mean, it plugs directly into the power supply and then you plug the power supply
19:53in to the back of the console directly.
19:56That's a cool little intercooler feature to try to help keep this console extra
20:00cool, extra, extra cold going forward.
20:04When I bought this, HDMI was the first thing.
20:07So this is the second set of Xboxes that came out, second set of
20:10releases that came out for this.
20:13And HDMI was not on the first set, but it was on the second set of arcade.
20:18And that's where I got it at.
20:19I got the first set of HDMI ports built into it.
20:23I had the USB port there that's made for the Kinect, which I do have a Kinect
20:29somewhere, uh, I do not know where it's at, but I do have one somewhere.
20:34And I have the audio video cords available as well for it.
20:38And the IO features as well on it made directly for it.
20:42And, um, I have a complete repair date on this console.
20:46I had everything done to it, had everything inspected and reassembled,
20:50put back together from Microsoft and, uh, Redmond, uh, after it got sent off.
20:56And I'm telling you, man, it just, just a great console overall.
21:00Now will these consoles fail?
21:02Yes, they will.
21:03They will fail.
21:04Eventually things will happen to them.
21:05Things will break down with them.
21:07Uh, lots of stuff will go on with the games.
21:11Uh, one of the things that PlayStation had that Xbox didn't was that
21:15Blu-ray player and those Blu-rays, you could not destroy the DS, these CD,
21:20DVR, DVD, RWS that they're using on these.
21:24If you slap it, the console drops.
21:26Like if you got it stationary, standing up and the console drops and there's
21:30a game inside of it, they ring those discs.
21:33And some of them you can buff out and play and others will
21:36just be completely inoperable.
21:38If you slap it while it's on, if the something hits the system while it's
21:42on, it'll do the same thing.
21:44So, you know, I have a black one, had a black one.
21:48I don't know where it's at.
21:49I don't know if I saw, I can't remember if I sold it or not.
21:51I may have sold it in some stuff, but I had an E edition, which was the last
21:56edition that they came out with, with the built-in wifi, uh, and they
21:59took some features away from it.
22:01They took the audio video port away from it.
22:03They went to just straight HDMI on the back of it.
22:06And they took, uh, the connect features away for it as well, where they only
22:10put the, the USB ports in the front for that edition on it, but nothing in the
22:16back and I had that for a long time and I liked it, I liked it very well.
22:21Um, the one thing that, that I used it a lot for was Tomb Raider on that one.
22:26I liked that one.
22:27The graphics looked better for Tomb Raider as they went on.
22:30Of course, the, this being the, the launch like, well, the second edition
22:34launch that came out with the white face in the arcade, uh, later in 2008.
22:40Um, this being that it didn't have the upgraded graphics card as they did.
22:45It didn't have that Jaguar graphics card that was put in late at a later date.
22:48And then the Vita graphics card is still inside of it.
22:51So, you know, there's, there's lots of little changes that were made over
22:54the years to try to, um, make maximum capacity with it.
22:59Now, these are great.
23:00These still run great.
23:01The graphics still run great.
23:02They still look good, but little upgrades remained throughout the years.
23:06And especially right before the X-Box one completely came out, the, the
23:10e-consoles can actually be converted into X-Box one.
23:13So that was one of the really cool features about having an e-console is
23:18you could make it into an X-Box one and it would read the disc for the X-Box
23:24one, and you could play it with your 360 and your 360 controller.
23:27They cut that crap out.
23:29They cut the ability to do it out.
23:31Microsoft took all the software down in 2015 or 2016.
23:38Um, from the ability to do that.
23:40But if you still had one of the flash drives that you could jump it off of,
23:43you could change all the software and turn these actually into an X-Box one,
23:47which was a really cool feature for them back at that time.
23:52But Microsoft realized that they were losing, uh, the console war and
23:56losing the money war and they changed it.
23:58So X-Box three 61 on that front, it won on a lot of fronts there.
24:03It did not win the sales front.
24:05It did not win, um, the gaming front.
24:09I mean, it had a lot of games that had a lot of developers for it.
24:11It had a lot of third party developers.
24:13It had a lot of arcade developers.
24:15It had a lot of people that were actually interested in intrigued in
24:20building and working with the architecture of Microsoft and inside
24:23that architecture and doing the gaming community themselves, one of the best
24:27games, I think that they did that they continued from the original
24:30X-Box was the world series of poker.
24:32Now they cut the servers off of it somewhere after 12.
24:36Um, but that was one of the best built games for the console directly
24:41and online playing game for the console directly at that point in time.
24:45And I actually miss it.
24:46I wish they would come back out with, with, uh, the new world series of
24:49poker and do it just basically based off of the three 60 and there's a lot
24:53of games that the servers are still paid for, for this day, but the
24:57servers have been taken down off of the game cells.
25:01So there's a, um, call of duty is one of them.
25:03So modern warfare three, if you guys were not playing modern warfare
25:07three before 15, they completely cut the servers out to you.
25:10If you try to buy a copy of it, you're not able to get into it.
25:13Same thing on the PlayStation.
25:14If you weren't an original PlayStation three user, they did the same thing for
25:18you, but the servers are still up and running for those that actually
25:21had it before that date.
25:23So, you know, there's a lot of things that have gone on that
25:27should have not gone on on that front.
25:29I think that they should be open to everybody is you you've cut, you've
25:33limited your sourcing and your ability with this console based upon your
25:38sales numbers and how they're projecting.
25:41Well, if you wanted the console to be relevant, you give it games that are
25:44relevant period in the story, the console is still good.
25:48It can still run games.
25:50It can still do things.
25:51Keep it mainstream.
25:52Keep it in the eyes of the public.
25:54And that's one of the things that these companies have have yet to do is
25:57because they're wanting to push more console cells out and new console cells
26:01out because that's where their money's at.
26:03But you're losing money on hardware, whereas you're gaining money on software.
26:08So your software sales are going to be where your licensing deals are for
26:11PlayStation, Xbox, for Dreamcast.
26:15If the Dreamcast is actually going to come out, the Dreamcast two that we've
26:17been so desperately waiting for for over 20 years now.
26:23If you guys have noticed that that's where the money's at is in software and
26:27games and Dreamcast, Dreamcast had a release, a new game release just a
26:30couple of months ago, it came out for it.
26:32So they can still be building games for these consoles that can be fun, that
26:37can be multiplayer, that can be running out there just a matter of are they
26:40willing to do it?
26:41The money problem is, is the servers that were up for certain of these
26:45games are still paid for.
26:47Call of Duty is still paid for to this day, but other games did not produce
26:51the amount of money that Call of Duty was producing and their servers had to
26:54be shut down early.
26:55That's the problem with all the consoles across all the generations is once
26:59something becomes not profitable, they shut it off, they kill it, boom, it's
27:03dead, and then they have to move on to something else.
27:05Now, I remember whenever I got this, we had the Blades, uh, Blades menu that
27:11popped up.
27:12It was in different sections for those of you that don't know what we're talking
27:15about with the Xbox 360, but then they changed it to the tiles.
27:20Uh, I don't remember exactly the date when they changed it because my console
27:24was offline from 2008 until 2010.
27:28I actually put my console online in 2011 is when I first put the white console
27:34online, when it came alive to me, they updated the, the entire software had
27:40three software updates in it.
27:42So I don't know which update it was that changed it over, but I got tiles afterwards.
27:46I liked the tiles.
27:47They were pretty cool.
27:48They were pretty good.
27:49But they changed a lot of the features with it too.
27:53So, um, one of my friends had had this three 60 as well, and he used to do
27:58Netflix and he would send requests out for Netflix and while I was in the army,
28:03I was watching him use it.
28:04He was watching Netflix with his wife and they actually had him in like a theater
28:08seat.
28:08It was really cool.
28:09This is stuff that you remember that's nostalgic to the three 60.
28:12That's not there anymore.
28:14Of course, Netflix moved on and did some other things.
28:16We're drinking San Pellegrino, uh, mineral water.
28:19For those of you that are wondering,
28:27but excuse me, but, um, some of that stuff is just not there and available anymore.
28:33First console to do voice messaging, or you could message somebody directly
28:36through a voice and cinema voice message.
28:38Uh, first console to really open up the capabilities of the console directly
28:44through the kernel software where you could access everything from family
28:48features all the way through.
28:50This was the first console that did it.
28:52PlayStation copied a lot of that stuff inside of their XMB.
28:57So there was a lot of stuff that got copied.
29:00There was a lot of stuff that changed in between the console wars and overall
29:05PlayStation three may have won the war, but we're still remembering the years of
29:10and to this day, I think Xbox is a far greater console as far as graphics and
29:17gaming goes.
29:18Um, but the amount of titles that they have is less superior than PlayStation.
29:23PlayStation just has that push with titles and push with the crowd and push for
29:27people to actually own and do their stuff.
29:30But there's so much that could happen directly from this.
29:33Do you guys remember the Doritos crash course?
29:37I remember Doritos crash course is a demo and it got me hooked.
29:41You know, stuff like that.
29:42Bejeweled, you know, games like Bejeweled first came out for it.
29:45Luxor.
29:46Um, those games were, were classic games.
29:49They used to do the revolutionary casino games on side of it.
29:52I liked some of the casino games.
29:54I really liked them very well.
29:56Um, they did the bicycle casino that was inside of it at one point in time.
29:59Greg Hastings paintball.
30:00I mean, you had excellent options for games during this period, during this
30:06time in your, in your life.
30:07And it just made something nostalgic, made something happen.
30:11And I'm glad that you guys got to come along with this journey.
30:13Unfortunately, I didn't have any video footage to show you, uh, today, other
30:17than the actual console itself.
30:18I think that this was the hourglass design that they did on these was one of
30:24the sleekest and prettiest looking designs that you could do mimic directly
30:30out, out of the hourglass.
30:32And to this day, I think it holds up great.
30:35Um, and as I told you with this 60 gigabyte hard drive, just in addition
30:40to add on there, you know, just beautiful the way that this works, just snap on
30:45stuff.
30:46And that's a hard drive.
30:47It's a snap on hard drive guys, so that you could download extra extra stuff to
30:52it.
30:52Now this was four gigs originally, and I put the 60 gig in it and made it 64 gigs.
30:59So that's what we've got on that one directly.
31:02Now you could actually go up to 500 gigs later on in the console's life.
31:06One 28 was like the top of the line at one point in time for this.
31:11So, you know, that's how far technology has come.
31:14We're looking at terabyte hard drives, two terabyte hard drives, three terabyte
31:17hard drives today, four terabyte hard drives in some cases, an external four
31:22Herit terabyte hard drives.
31:23In some cases, 60 gigs was all you got back in the day.
31:27Think about that.
31:28That's, that's how far technology has come and where we're going in our future
31:32with this.
31:33But I remember the Xbox 360.
31:35I hope you do too.
31:37I hope you remember all the good games, all the good times that you had, all your
31:41friends, all the servers that you got to play on, all the people you met.
31:47And I hope that one day we'll see the Xbox 360 come back to life and breezed
31:54new life back into the console.
31:56That's for well-wishing, but until next time you guys heard it here first on
32:00nerdy gaming with a rabid beaver, y'all be safe.
32:03Have a good evening.
32:04Bye-bye.
