00:00Originally, the facility was one of the biggest draws on energy for miles around, but now
00:08thanks to Gary's streamlined renovations and dynamic water containment system, it requires
00:12very few resources.
00:15The only switches are in the control center itself, upper and lower level.
00:20Even with those on 24-7, at the end of the day, my electricity bill here is $33 a month
00:26and some change.
00:28And since it's so well-insulated, the silo maintains a comfortable temperature year-round
00:32without any heating or cooling.
00:34I mean, come on, I live in shorts and flip-flops.
00:36I mean, I love it.
00:39Gary turned the whole place into a semi-public repository for the fascinating history of
00:43the Cold War and 1960s space and missile technology.
00:50You can put a bed anywhere and call it a home.
00:53To me, what was exciting was to build these into something that could produce back far
01:03more than just the entertainment of a home.
01:06This is the closest I can get to a museum because this is not something that is really
01:11explained in the history books.
