00:00A century ago, the fireman's living quarters were upstairs.
00:05Today, it's a chic den that illustrates why the house is so darn durable.
00:10The other interesting feature as I was doing the renovations on the building is the thickness
00:16of these walls.
00:17They're 18 inches thick.
00:18The exposed brick walls keep the hot Florida temperatures outside and the cool temps in,
00:23saving on energy costs.
00:25What I did is I walked around and I took a sledgehammer, a small sledgehammer, and smacked
00:30the walls.
00:31Whatever fell, fell, and whatever stayed, stayed.
00:34This way, it shows the bones of the building.
00:37On the other side of the wall, behind this glass door, is where the chief and the lady
00:40of the house sleep in the home's only bedroom.
00:43Dominique also gave the 100-year-old bathroom a full makeover, and it rocks.
00:49The best thing I love about this building is that it allows me to be me, to express
00:54myself as an artist, as an individual.
00:57But they don't keep it all to themselves.
01:00Dominique and Diana share their home by hosting functions, fundraisers, and weddings.
01:05Hey, guys, let me take you to the next room, show you what's outside.
01:13I put so much love and passion into this project.
01:16It was never-ending, and it still is.
01:18I'm always tweaking things quite a bit.
01:23We're not doing things to get attention.
01:24We did things that got attention.
01:27That's mine.
