00:18permanent chairman of the convention,
00:20Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana.

00:48Good afternoon, everybody.
00:50It's such an honor to be here.
00:52Before we begin, I'd like to remind
00:54the delegates of the provisions of the rules
00:56which require that each candidate
00:58for nomination for President of the
01:00United States demonstrate sufficient
01:02support prior to the
01:04presentation of the name of the candidate
01:06for nomination.
01:08The chair wishes to inform the delegates
01:10at this time that it has been furnished
01:12in a timely manner and
01:14with evidence of sufficient support
01:16of the candidates who will be presented
01:18for President and Vice President
01:20of the United States in compliance
01:22with the rules of the convention.
01:24Also as prescribed
01:26under the rules, the total time for
01:28nominating speeches and seconding speeches
01:30for any candidate for President or
01:32Vice President shall not exceed 15 minutes.
01:34It has also been the custom at
01:36past conventions to permit the chair
01:38to recognize non-delegates
01:40for the purpose of making nominating
01:42speeches and seconding speeches.
01:44Without objection,
01:46the reading of the roll call of states
01:48for presenting the names for candidates for nomination
01:50is dispensed with, and non-delegates
01:52shall be permitted to make nominating
01:54and seconding speeches.
01:56At this time, the chair now
01:58recognizes the delegate from Iowa
02:00and the chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa,
02:02Jeff Kaufman, for the purpose
02:04of nominating. Please give him
02:06a warm welcome.
