00:00Thank you I'm here with Donald Trump Jr. Obviously he was just talking about how

00:02his dad picked his selection for Vice President Senator J.D. Vance but how's

00:06your dad doing overall since Saturday night?

00:08He's doing well I mean obviously it was a pretty somber moment I was with my kids

00:12on a Saturday evening and I get this news that he's been shot but I couldn't

00:17get a hold of anyone he was in lockdown at the hospital took about 90 minutes so

00:20that was a long time.

00:2290 minutes where you could talk to him?

00:23Before I could speak to him and really know what was going on and when I did he was uh you know

00:28some shock but a lot of resolve he was able to he was joking about it and

00:33talking about it in a way that only my father could do but it was just that

00:36moment when he stood up after being shot at and just showed resolve to keep

00:41fighting for this country that that was everything for me I just literally told

00:44him I go you're the biggest badass I know and so we had some jokes about that

00:48that was the first thing I thought to think of even in that moment because it

00:51was that powerful and that's the kind of resolve that's why we had peace deals

00:56under Trump that's why we had a great economy you need that we're watching

01:00right now the weakness that's led our country into all of these disasters into

01:04these wars and it's because that's the nature of predation when a predator

01:07sees weakness that we're exuding on the world stage they pounce and so I think

01:12it's gonna be important to get that back and I'm looking forward to it.

01:14Can I just note right now that boo was at Senator Mitch McConnell I should know the

01:17Kentucky delegation is over there but on that how has that changed do you think

01:22how your dad is approaching this convention and this campaign overall

01:25has it changed it? I think it has I mean I know he he basically scrapped his

01:30speech that they've been working on I was in the office when they were working

01:32with it for hours last week and I think they just started from scratch with a

01:37just a different message we are gonna try to unite this country I mean I take

01:40that kind of moment of just just shocking moment that really changed I

01:46think even in his mindset of what we need to do to replace everything I mean

01:50basically I think we all got the directive like hey whatever you were

01:53doing and I tend to get a little bit hot so we're gonna tone it down and keep it

01:58keep a different message out there I think that's gonna be important actually

02:01I think it's gonna be important for us to move forward that way as a country.

02:03Is that what your dad himself I mean I know we've heard from political advisors

02:06and sources. My dad this is his political advisor when he hears the people when he

02:13speaks to the crowds that he doesn't listen to the pollsters or he doesn't

02:16look at polling he doesn't make decisions that are bad because a poll

02:19says it's you know 0.24 basis points more he doesn't think that way he

02:24understands he listens to the people and he has to trust his own gut instinct

02:26and he's done pretty well with that throughout his career. Have you

02:29talked to him today how's he reflecting on just the fact that 48 hours ago this

02:32happened? Listen I think he's moving forward yeah that's what he is he's a

02:36he's a fighter he's gonna get back in the game he's never gonna be pushed

02:40aside you know fear they've tried to go after him for so many ways whether it

02:43was the businesses where it's throwing him in jail up to and including the

02:46death penalty and that they've just tried everything to stop him he's not

02:51meant to be stopped he's meant to help fix this country. Donald Trump jr. thank
