00:00A few days after the incident, you know, we had the RNC and their Vice President Donald
00:06Trump, former President Donald Trump announced his decision to pick Senator J.D. Vance.
00:11So I'm just curious your response to his selection.
00:14Look, I've known Senator Vance for many years.
00:16We've worked with Tim Ryan.
00:17We did a tour through Ohio with Silicon Valley leaders to invest in places left out.
00:24But I've been disappointed with his positions.
00:26It has nothing to do with him as a person, but his positions.
00:29I believe that a woman should have the right to control her own body, shouldn't have a
00:34ban on abortions nationwide after six weeks, which is his position.
00:40I disagree with him in his view that we should reduce legal immigration.
00:45I think we need immigrants to start businesses and startups and have Silicon Valley thrive.
00:51And many of the Silicon Valley leaders are supporting him, also believe in increasing
00:55legal immigration.
00:57I disagree with him in terms of massive corporate tax cuts.
01:00He wants to give the wealth, people already have wealth, more tax cuts.
01:04I want to invest in places that have been left out of globalization.
01:09So we just have two very different visions for the country.
01:13Those topics that you mentioned, are those what scare you the most about a potential
01:16second Trump presidency?
01:18Or is there anything else that frightens you about that possibility?
01:22Well, what frustrates me is that we're going to disappoint people with giving them false
01:27hope. I was in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and Franklin, Pennsylvania last week, and I
01:32introduced the modern steel bill.
01:34Here's how we have government financing with unions, with companies like Cleveland
01:39Cliffs or United Steel to build new modern steel plants in places that were
01:44deindustrialized, in places that were shafted.
01:47And that's what we should be doing in a bipartisan basis.
01:49And I've worked with Republicans to do that.
01:51And we work to do that with semiconductors.
01:53We should do it with steel, aluminum, drug manufacturing.
01:56Donald Trump, though, is just going to have tax cuts and he's just going to rail it
02:01against immigration. And that's not going to put factories in Johnstown.
02:04It's not going to put factories in Franklin, Pennsylvania.
02:07So what saddens me is these folks, really, they want something done.
02:12They're sick of the politicians sloganeering.
02:15They want real action and we need to deliver.
02:18And I just don't think the Trump fans agenda delivers.
