00:00Last thing I want to note, and I'll take a couple of questions, this is a big day at the Supreme Court as well.
00:04The Chevron doctrine has been overturned, and this is something that will be a remarkable turn of events.
00:09It will allow us, I genuinely believe, to exercise again Article 1 authority, the legislative branch.
00:16The way our framers intended this to work, it's supposed to have the authority to determine how the agencies of the government work and what their scope is.
00:25The Chevron doctrine since 1984 has made that a real problem because it gave deference to the agencies to interpret their own rules.
00:33And that is why the administrative state has grown so far out of control.
00:36It's one of the primary root problems that we've been trying to work through here.
00:41And so in a six to three decision, the Supreme Court has made the right choice there.
00:45I filed an amicus brief in that case, the House filed a brief in that case, and we're delighted by that outcome.
00:51This is a long time coming, took almost 40 years to get here.
00:55The other case that was handed down was the Fisher case today, also a six to three opinion.
01:00And the import of that is the decision says, effectively,
01:05the court agrees that a number of the defendants in the January 6th proceedings have been overcharged.
01:10And that is something that I also think many people have recognized for some time, and now the highest court in the land has declared that to be so.
01:19A big day, we've made a lot of history this week.
01:22I think the debate last night, the reverberations for that will continue.
01:27And I think it will have a big effect on our ability to fix the country.
01:31Why? Because I think that this will help ensure that Donald Trump is elected president in November,
01:36that we take back the majority in the Senate for the Republican Party, and that we grow the House majority for Republicans here.
01:42We cannot wait for that to happen, and the American people need it to happen as soon as possible.
01:46Because we have to fix every metric of public policy.
01:49We'll be ready to do that on day one.
