00:00Hello. After a fairly gloomy start to the week, there is a chance of some sunshine for
00:05some southern areas through today. It's not going to feel too bad in the July sunshine,
00:09but for most of us, it's going to be another pretty cloudy day. We've got a large swathe
00:14of cloud wrapped around this area of low pressure, pushing rain into many northern areas of the
00:19UK. We've already seen some pretty intense rainfall across the far north and east of
00:24Scotland and some heavy showers already starting to break out across some north-western areas
00:30of England and south-western Scotland. Here, there's a chance of thunderstorms through
00:34this afternoon, so there could be some localised flooding here as well as across north-eastern
00:38Scotland where the rain will continue. It's also going to be a pretty wet day across parts
00:42of Northern Ireland and there will be a bit of a breeze through the Irish Sea as well.
00:46A different story though further south. After a fairly cloudy start to the day, it's likely
00:50to stay dry through much of the day and there will be some sunshine around. Highs of 23
00:55degrees in London, 22 degrees for many south-eastern areas. Not too bad at all, particularly considering
01:01the latest weather recently. Now into this evening, that low pressure is still staying
01:06with us. It's drifting slowly north and eastwards, but that rain will continue to wrap around
01:10it, pushing into parts of north Wales, into the Midlands as well. So it will turn a bit
01:14drier in parts of southern Scotland, some areas of northern England, and we'll lose
01:18that thunderstorm risk overnight tonight. But there's going to be a lot of cloud around
01:21for many northern areas, so that's going to hold temperatures up. In the south though,
01:25staying dry and clear, temperatures around 11 or 12 degrees first thing. But that does
01:29mean there will be some sunshine around first thing across the south, but again, another
01:34cloudy start to the day for many northern areas. Some brightness though moving into
01:38parts of Northern Ireland and western Scotland through Thursday as the rain becomes a little
01:43bit more focused across parts of Wales, the Midlands and again northern areas of England
01:48where we could see some heavy showers once again on Thursday afternoon. But for the south
01:54and east and particularly across the south coast, they get 22 degrees, 23 degrees, fairly
01:59pleasant in the sunshine. But I think across the north where we get this northerly wind,
02:03particularly across eastern Scotland, is going to be disappointingly cool for the next few
02:07days. Now heading into Thursday evening, that fine weather across the northwest starts to
02:12become a little bit more widespread. That's because we do have a ridge of high pressure
02:16building in from the north and west to end the week. And that means there will be more
02:21in the way of drier and brighter weather just for a few days. You can find out more details
02:26about all of that though with our latest 10 day trend with Aiden on YouTube and I'll see
02:30you again soon. Bye bye.
