00:00Good evening, some heavy rain to come for some areas through the rest of the evening
00:04but it is turning a little bit drier as we head towards the end of the week and at least
00:08into the start of the weekend. High pressure is centred out to the south and west of the
00:13UK and that ridge of high pressure is going to build in from the north and west through
00:18the rest of the week. But we've still got low pressure lingering away to the east that
00:22will continue to bring some weather fronts across some southern areas throughout the
00:26rest of the evening as well. So heavy rains likely across northern areas of England, there's
00:30still a risk of some thunderstorms through the first part of the evening but it's across
00:33north-eastern Scotland where we've seen the most persistent rain where there's a weather
00:37warning in force until the early hours of Thursday. Further south though it should stay
00:41dry through the rest of the evening but for most of us it's going to be a cloudy night
00:45so it will be another fairly mild start to the day. Having said that we've got this quite
00:50brisk northerly wind pushing into northern areas of Scotland, particularly the east of
00:54Scotland where it feels quite autumnal at the moment and that feels going to continue
00:58through Thursday as well. Now there's low pressures bringing rain to parts of North
01:03Wales into the Midlands through Thursday. We could start to see a few showers breaking
01:07out across central areas of England as well as Wales later on on Thursday afternoon as
01:12well. But actually for Northern Ireland, Scotland, the south coast it will actually be a dry
01:17day, actually brighter across the north-west compared to today as well. And as a result
01:23it will feel a little bit warmer. Temperatures across the north-west climbing towards the
01:27higher teens for some areas in the central belt and across the south will be up to around
01:3222 or 23 degrees once again. So not too bad in the sunshine if you are sheltered from
01:38that northerly wind. Through Thursday evening this rain will likely continue for parts of
01:43Wales and central areas of England and then we're starting to see a risk of some showers
01:46approaching from the south as well. But from the north it will start to turn a bit drier
01:52as we've got higher pressure building in. So turning more unsettled across southern
01:56areas and more settled across the north as we head into Friday. But another fairly mild
02:02night across southern areas. Into the north though with clearer skies it could be a bit
02:06of a cooler start on Friday. More in the way of sunshine to come on Friday for Northern
02:12Ireland, much of Scotland, northern England as well. Sunny spells but actually where we
02:16are exposed to this north-easterly wind across the east coast of Scotland as well as northern
02:22England it will feel fairly fresh. There's an increasing risk of showers across the south
02:27coast. Some of these could turn quite torrential as well, particularly into Friday evening.
02:33So less in the way of sunshine for many southern areas so temperatures not climbing quite as
02:37high but I think across the north 19, possibly 20 for some areas. So not too bad at all,
02:44particularly considering the temperatures we've seen lately. Looking ahead to the weekend
02:49it's looking a little bit drier to start the weekend but it does turn a bit more unsettled
02:54through Sunday. You can find more details on that on our latest 10 day trend on YouTube.
02:58Bye bye.
