00:15Petocchi bought the Park Hotel in Regent Road in March and has submitted a
00:20planning application to convert it into 17 apartments and build six houses on
00:25land at the back. The 17 apartments will include three one-bed, eleven two-bed and
00:31three three-bed flats while the proposed six houses on the site will have three
00:36bedrooms. A long-awaited new service station in the suburbs of Preston is
00:41fully operational after Greggs became the last site's outlets to begin
00:46trading. The Lancashire Post understands that around 50 jobs have been created in
00:51total across the five brands that make up the Saddle Inn services, named after
00:57the historic pub that used to stand on the plot. A man suffered serious injuries

01:46Cone man has been charged with killing two wild birds with an air rifle. The
01:51Ribble Valley Rural Task Force investigated a report in March of a man
01:55putting two dead birds, a tourney owl and a wood pigeon, into a wheelie bin in
02:00Cone. Officers recovered the birds and it transpired they'd been shot with an air
02:05weapon. A suspect was identified and later interviewed under caution by
02:10officers. The man from Cone has now been charged with killing a non-Schedule 1
02:15wild bird, causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and possessing an
02:20air weapon in a public place. He is due to attend Blackburn Magistrates Court on
02:25August 22nd. As for the weather, today there will be outbreaks of rain turning
