00:26Little Elliot Fall Friends by Mike Curato
00:32Little Elliot and his best friend Mouse loved living in the city.
00:44But sometimes the city was too dirty, too loud, and too busy.
00:56We need a vacation, said Mouse.
01:03Later that morning, Elliot and Mouse boarded a bus bound for the country.
01:12They could see the bright autumn leaves as the big city slowly disappeared behind them.
01:22Elliot and Mouse got off the bus and smelled the fresh air.
01:26Wow, said Elliot, the country is even bigger than the city.
01:32I'll race you up that hill, said Mouse.
01:38At the top of a hill, Elliot and Mouse could feel the breeze and the sunshine and the soft grass.
01:45Neither spoke for a long time.
01:48Then Elliot's stomach growled. I am getting hungry, he said.
01:53Looks like there's some apple trees down there, said Mouse.
02:08The country is delicious, said Elliot.
02:13And fun, said Mouse. Let's play hide-and-seek.
02:17First, Mouse found Elliot hiding in a hollow log.
02:25Then Elliot found Mouse hiding in a pumpkin patch.
02:33Elliot picked the perfect hiding place.
02:36Mouse will never find me here, he thought.
02:43And Elliot was right.
02:46And Elliot was right. He waited and waited, but Mouse never came.
02:55Where could Mouse be, Elliot thought.
02:58Everything was still, very still.
03:06Suddenly, Elliot smelled something delicious.
03:11Something that smells so good must be worth looking for, he thought.
03:28I found you, said Mouse, leaping from behind the pie.
03:33Mouse, said Elliot.
03:36Mouse, said Elliot.
03:41When I couldn't find you, my new friends and I baked a pie, said Mouse.
03:47I told them you would follow your nose.
03:53Nobody knows me better, said Elliot.
04:00Later, they all gathered for a fall feast.
04:04To new friends, said Mouse, and to new treats, said Elliot.
04:13That night, Elliot and Mouse nestled into the hay
04:16and took turns naming the stars until both fell fast asleep.
04:20I hope you enjoyed that story.
