00:26The Golden Acorn by Katie Hudson
00:31You
00:37Squirrel loved being the fastest
00:40She could fly through the trees faster than anybody and had the trophy collection to prove it
00:49Her most prized trophies were from the annual golden acorn hunt
00:54only the fastest racers won the golden acorn and
00:58Squirrel had taken it home the last eight years
01:02But this year was different
01:08There was a rule change
01:11All those competing in tomorrow's golden acorn hunt must do so as part of a team beaver red
01:22Squirrel scoffed, but I'm the fastest animal in the forest. I don't need a team
01:28But we'd love to be on your team squirrel said rabbit brightly
01:33You?
01:34Squirrel looked at her friends. They really did not seem like race material
01:39But squirrel had no choice. The race was tomorrow
01:43Maybe a little training would do the trick
01:49Or maybe not
01:51You
01:56The next morning squirrel gathered her team at the starting line
02:00The golden acorn has been hidden the judge yelled ready
02:05Set go
02:10Whoosh squirrel was off overtaking all the other racers even her own team
02:17Squirrel wait her friends called. We've lost tortoise
02:25Ah tortoise huffed squirrel pacing back
02:33Squirrel grabbed tortoise plopped him back on the branch and took off again, but not for long
02:40Squirrel wait her friends called once more. We're all tangled up
02:45You can't be serious
02:48squirrel moaned
02:50Squirrel untangled her friends and was off yet again for about 10 seconds
02:56Squirrel wait her friends called beaver is stuck. Oh
03:02Come on
03:04squirrel groaned
03:07Once beavers bottom was push free
03:10Squirrel was off as fast as her feet would carry her so fast that she didn't even hear her friends calling for her
03:22Over logs and under branches
03:25inside trunks and above treetops
03:28squirrel raced as fast as she could to find the golden acorn until
03:37There it was
03:41You
03:43It was the biggest golden acorn squirrel had ever seen she pried it from its hiding spot and took off
03:54But the golden acorn was heavy
03:57Much too heavy to carry alone, and there was only squirrel all by herself
04:03squirrel and her golden prize
04:06After
04:10Lots and lots of rolling and pushing and heaving she took a little rest. She was tired and sweaty and
04:22Lonely and a squirrel looked out upon all the other racers still searching for the acorn
04:29She realized she had lost her friends the golden acorn would just have to wait
04:36Whoosh
04:38Whoosh off squirrel raced faster than she ever had before
04:43over logs under branches inside trunks and above the treetops until
04:53There they were after lots and lots of rolling and pushing and heaving squirrel had her friends back
05:02Her team didn't come in first and they didn't get a trophy, but it didn't matter
05:11From now on squirrels friends would always come first
