00:00Arthur jumps into fall, by Mark Brown.
00:29Arthur and D.W. were finishing their breakfast.
00:38I have a job for you today, Arthur, said Dad.
00:42I want you to rake leaves in the backyard.
00:48Wouldn't today be a good time for D.W. to learn to rake, Arthur asked.
00:54Dad shook his head.
00:55D.W. will be helping me with other things.
01:02Arthur looked up at the empty tree.
01:05This is all your fault, he said.
01:08Then he started to rake.
01:14The leaves seemed to be sticking to the ground.
01:17Arthur raked harder.
01:19Pretty soon he had made a little pile of leaves.
01:26What do you think, pal? he asked.
01:29Pal took a sniff.
01:31Then he picked up a leaf in his mouth and added it to the pile.
01:38Arthur kept raking.
01:40The pile got a little bigger.
01:43This is a lot of work, he said to Pal.
01:46Maybe we should take a break.
01:51Arthur and Pal jumped into the pile of leaves.
01:55Then they jumped again and again.
01:58Pretty soon the leaves were scattered all over the yard again.
02:03Arthur, what are you doing? asked Francine.
02:09She walked up with Buster in the brain.
02:12I'm raking, said Arthur.
02:14You're not doing a very good job, said the brain.
02:18It's a question of applying force properly.
02:21Here let me show you.
02:26The brain started raking.
02:28See how I bend my elbows, he said.
02:31I do, said Arthur.
02:33Show me more.
02:38Now Francine took a turn.
02:41This isn't so hard, she said.
02:43All it takes is organization and muscle power.
02:48Wow, said Buster.
02:53This could be the biggest pile of leaves in the country.
02:56Or maybe the whole world.
03:02Finally all the leaves were collected.
03:05You see, said the brain.
03:07That's how it's done.
03:09Arthur nodded.
