00:00Sir Handel had been naughty, so the Fat Controller made him stay in the shed for a while.
00:08Peter Sam was now busier than ever.
00:13He had to do Sir Handel's work as well as his own.
00:22He was very excited, and the fireman found him hard to handle.
00:27Anyone would think that he wanted to work, said Sir Handel, who was lonely and bored.
00:33All respectable engines do, replied Skarloey.
00:37Keep calm, Peter Sam, and you'll do well.
00:40But Peter Sam was in such a state that he couldn't listen.
00:44He collected some coaches and went on his way.
00:56But somehow, the faster he wanted to go, the slower the journey became.
01:07When Peter Sam finally fussed into the station, Henry was already there.
01:14This won't do, youngster, said Henry.
01:17I can't be kept waiting. If you are late tonight, I'll go off and leave your passengers behind.
01:23Pah, said Peter Sam.
01:26Secretly, he was a little worried, but not for long.
01:30The guard blew his whistle and waved his green flag.
01:36Peter Sam puffed happily away, singing a little song.
01:40I'm Peter Sam, I'm running this line. I'm Peter Sam, I'm running this line.
01:46What fun it all is, he thought, as he journeyed along the line.
01:53The coaches enjoyed themselves, too.
01:56They were growing fond of Peter Sam.
02:06Every afternoon, they had to wait an hour at the station by the lake.
02:11The station has a little shop selling refreshments.
02:15The driver, fireman, and fireman were all waiting for Peter Sam.
02:19The shop selling refreshments.
02:21The driver, fireman, and the guard buy tea and cakes from the refreshment lady.
02:29At last, the waiting was over, and Peter Sam was sizzling with impatience.
02:35Beep, hurry up, please, he whistled to the passengers.
02:39How awful, he thought, if we miss Henry's train.
02:43The guard was ready with his flag and whistle.
02:45The refreshment lady was making her way to the train.
02:49Then it happened.
02:53The guard says that Peter Sam was too impatient.
02:56Peter Sam says he was sure he heard a whistle anyway.
03:00He started.
03:02Stop, stop, stop, wailed the coaches. You've left the refreshment lady behind.
03:07Bother, groaned Peter Sam. We're sure to miss Henry now.
03:12The refreshment lady climbed aboard and they started again.
03:19Peter Sam didn't sing anymore.
03:25Instead, he hurried along the line as fast as his wheels and his driver would let him.
03:37They arrived at the big station just in time.
03:42Hooray, said Peter Sam. He felt very relieved.
03:46Not bad, youngster, said Henry loftily.
03:49But the refreshment lady was still cross.
03:52What do you mean by leaving me behind?
03:56I'm sorry, refreshment lady, replied Peter Sam.
03:59But Henry said he might leave without us.
04:02Then the refreshment lady laughed.
04:05You silly engine, Henry was teasing you.
04:08He wouldn't have gone without our passengers.
04:11He's a guaranteed connection.
04:13Well, said Peter Sam, where's that Henry?
04:17But Henry had chortled away.
