00:00It was a beautiful moonlit night on the island of Sodor.
00:05The day's work was done and all the engines puffed safely home.
00:12Thomas, whispered Percy, will you tell us the end of the story?
00:16You mean the one about Duke, the lost engine?
00:19Exactly, said Henry.
00:22But, added James, please remind us of the story so far.
00:26So Thomas began and here is the rest of the story he told.
00:30Duke was old and lived with two young engines called Stuart and Falcon.
00:37They teased Duke and called him Grandpa, but they were happy together.
00:42Then, their line was closed down and the young engines went away.
00:56Duke was left alone in the shed.
00:59He went to sleep and everything around him changed.
01:07But Duke was never forgotten.
01:12Years went by until one day not long ago, visitors came to see the fat controller.
01:23We want to find Duke, they said, and make him happy again.
01:28Maps lay everywhere.
01:31If we follow the old line shown here on the map, they said,
01:34we'll travel north of the village and then into the mountains.
01:39And look, there's a sign for the old station.
01:42If Duke's anywhere, he's there.
01:46Everyone set off to the mountains far away.
01:52The days went by and the search grew harder, but the rescuers wouldn't give up.
02:01Let's go this way, they said.
02:09But there was still no sign of Duke.
02:24He's here somewhere, they said.
02:28They scrambled over hills and struggled over ditches.
02:34At last, their search ended.
02:42Quite by accident.
02:47We found him. We found our sleeping beauty.
02:52Excuse me, inquired Duke, are you a vandal?

03:05We've dropped in because we couldn't find your door.

03:11So they did remember, sighed Duke happily.
03:17Then they all set off to Duke's new home.
03:30Vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom, vroom.
03:38Stuart and Falcon were ready with a big welcome.
03:45He's here, they whispered. Shhh, shhh.
03:49You woke me up, grumbled Duke.
03:52In my young days, engines were seen and not heard, Grandpuff, we know.
03:57We'll all be back to work tomorrow, we're glad you've come back.
04:00We can keep you in order now.
04:02Keep me in order? Be off with you, impudent scallywags, murmured Duke.
04:08But his old eyes twinkled and for the first time in years he smiled as he dozed in the sun.
